Bifacial solar cells present challenges for electrical characterization including thermal issues from insufficient contact between the cell and measurement chuck, potential for uncontrolled heating and inaccurate voltage measurements as temperature rises, and electrical issues from non-uniform contact along the busbars. Proper thermal coupling needs to be established between the cell and chuck to monitor temperature accurately and avoid overestimating performance metrics. The number and placement of contact pins also requires optimization to ensure reliable fill factor measurements for bifacial cells.
