2. Pre-proposal
Tell me in no more than 20 words, what is
your FMP idea?
To create my own clothing brand and market it,
for example I would create my own website for
it, model the clothes, make the design myself,
and promote.
Why have you decided to make it?
I have decided to make it because I have a passion
in fashion and in creative designing, so I decided
to combine them for my fmp and create
something I am truly passionate with.
What about your project makes it important
to you?
It is important to me because, I have wanted to
create a clothing brand for a while, and I used this
time to start. It is also important as I want to
improve my designing skills and make promotion
of a product I love.
Outline some of the initial influences on
your idea/work and some potential
research targets (remember, research isn’t
just a paper based activity)
Some influences of my idea are streetwear brands
that have grown in popularity massively in 2021,
including Cortiez, Drama calls and Trapstar, as I
like both the designs of the product and the way
they promote, from there social media to their
posters.
I will interview people to see what they think is
needed for the streetwear game in 2022
What effect do you want to have on your
audience when they see your project?
I want the audience to like me as a brand, and all
the aspects of the brand, like the marketing,
posters, and the design.
Describe the tone/mood/style of your
project [which production
techniques/characteristics are you
employing?]
The tone of my streetwear will be black, however
with vibrant designs that stand out, I will employ
this tone throughout my marketing and my
posters.
Why have you decided to make your project
in this style?
Because i relate to the style and enjoy it, as well as
it being extremely popular now.
3. Initial Reaction
• When I first discovered that I was going to be doing my own
project on whatever I liked I immediately knew I wanted to
include fashion whether it was creating my own brand and
marketing that or creating a website and do a fashion blog
and create posters and advertise it. I think I'm good at making
my own posters, so I know I want to include making that. I
also think that if I created my own piece of clothing it would
be unique to me and something I wouldn’t normally do or get
to do everyday.
4. Mind Map

get the vibe I am looking for.
As I am doing a streetwear style for
my clothing, I want an old-
fashioned style of photo like the
90s etc.
Design on photoshop the layout of
how I would want my website to
look.
5. Additional mind map ideas
Short
film
Roughly 5 mins of acting,
mainly 16-21 of age female
and male actors.
I can create a movie poster
for the short film to
promote the film.
I could create a short 15-30
second trailer for the
audience. The genre would
be comedy.
I can also create a tour
poster listing the cities
where the movie could be
broadcasted.
6. Additional mind map ideas

Create a cd cover when
releasing the music if
people wanted to buy the
CD disk.
Equipment needed
• Camera
• Different clothing for
different scenes
• Tripod
• Lighting kit
Genre
• pop
7. Mind map I have chosen.
• The idea I have chosen to follow through with and create for my FMP project is creating a
clothing brand and marketing it. The reasons I have decided to choose this one is because I
have a strong interest in both fashion and marketing. I've always liked buying clothes, seeing
different ways I can style outfits, so this is why I thought including fashion into my FMP was a
good idea because I knew I would enjoy the project. The reason I decided I wanted to
advertise the product was because the way to promote thins in this generation is social
media, which is also another huge interest of mine, so I thought there was many cool
different ways I could promote my product for the FMP.
10. Mood Board Analysis
Is there any repetition in the images you have collected? Repeated colours/images
styles/fonts/tone/mood
• There is a repetition with the kind of outfits that are in the photos, such as they are all
streetwear and the brands I have included like supreme and Corteiz etc are all streetwear
inspired too. The brands that are included on my mood board are all quite high end so there
is also a repetition to that. My mood board is made up of aa few bright colours such as red
and green and also black and white.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
• My mood board will influence my final product as I want to make similar clothes to these
brands, such as the white crtz tank top I included on the board, I want to make one of those
styled shirts along with others. I also want to use the locations in the images on the mood
board because the urban streets has a similar tone to how I will edit the pictures I take. I like
the photography methods they use when shooting as they don’t use standard photos but get
angles from the side, back and front to change it up.
11. Influence/Inspiration
Corteiz- (CRTZ)
• Corteiz has recently become famous for its streetwear and has a significant edge of its peers as when he
releases the clothes, they are limited drop and sell out minutes after. The founder of Corteiz (Clint) doesn’t
rely on reselling to maintain popularity, he believes that every item is just made to last and kept treasured.
A clever marketing strategy he has
used to be able to buy his clothing
is dropping the password on his
private twitter account for when
he releases the new drop to gain
access to the locked website.
No password- no entry!
Corteiz has a very distinctive and
unique style that has the whole
world wanting to get their hands
on the drops. This includes
authentic balaclavas, bold
messages and signature joggers.
The brand is targeted for both
males and females as he releases
clothes that are suitable for
everyone.
The designs have been worn by
celebrities namely, Dave, Jorja
Smith, Central Cee and many
others.
12. Influence/Inspiration
Trapstar- "it’s a secret"
• Trapstar is a London based streetwear and lifestyle brand created by 3 young boys in 2008 Mikey, Lee and
Will, who, despite their success, are trying to maintain a degree of anonymity. Trapstar also does limited
drops so some items are only available once.
The first trapstar t-shirt that was
made was from an old Nokia
phone by accident.
This screenshot here shows one of
the first pieces of clothing they
sold in 2008 during the "economic
crash" when nobody wanted to
take on new brands, so when they
it on to do a pop up they called it
the invasion. That is how they
produced the idea for this shirt.
Since Mikey was young, he had
always been interested in fashion,
for example after he left school, he
worked in the lower end of fashion
stores selling the first waves of
Moschino and D&G. He mostly got
his fashion experience came from
his boss who use to own Versace
on Bond Street.
Most recent trapstar drop.
One of the first drops.
Trapstar is a global fashion brand
worn by stars like Rhianna, Jay- Z,
Stormzy, Dave, Central Cee and
many others.
The founder of Trapstar, Mikey believes that if
you want to make your own clothes, you should
wear them yourself and if you don’t, don’t make
them. When he first started making clothes, he
realised this is the type of clothes he wanted to
make as it is close to him and what connects to
him.
13. Influence/Inspiration
Drama Call- (a) Hollywood Diary.
• Drama Call is an independent brand from Manchester that embodies the unforgiving side of society we
live in today inspired by American aesthetics such as graphics and typography. They flip slogans and take
daily aspects of life to present them in a theatrical yet sinister way.
This is one of their collaborative
brands in 2019 and as you can see
by what is on their shirt, they are
not afraid to sand their ground and
they are here to stay.
The founder of Drama Call Charlie
Bows released the "silence kills
collab" where 50% of the profit
would go towards the protest bail
funds which allow people to
continue protesting without the
fear of being locked up without
getting a way out.
Charlie Bows states in an interview
" he thinks everyone should feel
responsibility or at least feel the
urge to make a positive difference
in this world.
In late 2021 drama call released a collab with local rapper Aitch
and they wanted to amplify the fact that the brands reach isn't
just about the city but also about the presence embedded deep
in music culture, especially hip hop and grime.
There are little to no interviews out
there about the brand drama call,
instead they rely on the musicians,
artists and mates with clout to
market their brand. Simple but
effective.

n/a
Exposure 1: explain creative uses of
aperture
Aperture is the opening in a lens which light passes to enter the camera. You can shrink or
enlarge the size of the aperture to allow more or less light to reach your camera sensor. At
one extreme, aperture gives you a blurred background with a shallow focus effect and the
other will give you sharp photos
Exposure 2: explain side effects of high ISO If your photo is taken at too high of an ISO then it will show a lot of grain also known as
noise, which is one of the side effects, this can cause the photo to be unusable.
Exposure 3: explain general rule on setting
shutter speed
Shutter speed is responsible for two things; changing the brightness of your photo and
creating dramatic effects by either freezing action or blurring motion. If your shutter speed
is long, moving subjects in your photo will appear blurred along the direction of motion.

Software package title Photoshop
What are you using it for?
e.g. video editing, audio
editing, etc
I am using photoshop to edit my pictures that I take and make them
look like they have been taken on a disposable camera, I want an
old school kind of effect. I will also be using photoshop to create a
magazine front cover to advertise my clothing brand.
Can you (tick when done and

Explain specialist tools
available. E.g. colour
correction, keying, filters,
effects, etc
One of the specialist tools you can use in photoshop is colour
correction and this is the process of making the footage look how
the human eye sees it, whereas colour grading is where you create
the aesthetic of the footage, helping you understand the tone or
mood. Another on is keying, this is where you separate the colour
and brightness of a photo. There are many different filters you can
use to help you edit your footage such as blurring, distortion, noise
filters, rendering and many more.
Explain common problems
you encounter and what you
might do to avoid
them/manage them
Common problems I have encountered when using photoshop is
when I tried to edit one of my previous posters, I used a YouTube
tutorial to guide me, and it didn’t have the same options as the one I
was using so I wasn’t able to do what I wanted. To avoid this, I
would have to check the YouTube video is the same edition of
photoshop to the one I use. Another problem I have had with
photoshop is that it is quite time-consuming learning all the key
tools.

16. Why are you making this project?
• I am making this project because I have an interest for both
fashion and marketing, so I thought if I made my own clothing
then advertised it, it would be fun to do. I also enjoy spending
my time on social media and following brands that have
created their own clothes. I can use clothes as a way to
express myself and my passion for fashion and making this
project is one way, I can do this. I have many inspirations
following up from the clothing brands that I have included in
my key influences slide and they have given me the
opportunity to realise
17. Hopes for the FMP
• My hopes for the fmp is for me to improve
and learn new skills in the marketing industry
and know how to promote and advertise a
product through social media. I am also
hoping to pass this project and proceed to do
the course I am on now next year and go to
uni to follow my dream of being a digital
marketing manager and broadcast many other
brands for social media.
18. Strengths and Limitations
• One of the strengths that will be included within my production is photography as I think my skills with
cameras and knowing the angles and locations for my pictures will affect my production positively.
• Another strength is also in the design aspect of my product because I have been researching and keeping
up to date with similar things that I want to make for my FMP for many years, so I know how and what to
do to exceed in my project and how to create this.
• The last strength of mine is editing in photoshop, with having practise with the use of this app I can
confidently say that editing is a solid strength of mine and I know how to get what I want for the outcome
of my pictures and the way I want it to look.
• One of the weaknesses is of mine is not having any experience with making and designing my own
clothing so to counter this I will make a few designs and get them printed onto old clothes just so when
the time for my final product I will have enough experience and to make sure I am happy will my full
outcome.
• Another weakness which might affect my production is I have never created a social media account for the
sole purpose of advertising which is something I want to include for my FMP so I will have to research on
how to do this and how to learn the skills of doing so.
• The last weakness of mine which I want to improve is learning how to use a disposable camera as I like the
way they give an old-fashioned look to the pictures so not knowing how to use one could possibly affect
my production because if I get one then decide this is not what I want I will have to figure out another way
to create this look. To improve my knowledge on this, I can buy one and take a few photos to be certain
this is how I want my final photos to look.
19. Potential Research Activities
• There are many different research activities that you can try and here are a few examples:
• Interviews- An interview is a formal, in-depth conversation between one or more people
where the exchange of information takes place. You can get different types of interviews for
example, a job interview to check a candidates, acceptability for a job. There is also
interviews that take place for example a celebrity would accept to be interviewed so that
people can have a window view of what their life is like, capture them at an inflection point
or to help the outside world to get to know them better and what its like to be with them.
• Questionnaire- A questionnaire is a research method that consists of a set of questions or
other types of things to help collect information from a respondent. It is a mix of close-ended
and open-ended questions which offer the respondent the ability to elaborate on their
thoughts.
• Existing Product Research- Existing product research is a summary of current products
available similar to the one you have chosen as your final product. For example, if you was
creating your own fashion magazine, you would research other existing fashion magazines
like VOUGE or Elle to be inspired and gather information on how you could create your own
like this.
