Erasures can be accomplished through either abrasive or chemical means. Abrasive erasures disturb the paper's surface finish and evidence may be visible under normal light or a microscope. Some samples require side lighting to detect erasures, placing a light source at an angle to the paper's surface. Erasures are also categorized as either chemical, where chemicals remove ink content to allow rewriting, or physical, where blades or pins alter the paper's surface and ink dispersion.

2.  Erasure, removing information from the original
document, can be accomplished by abrasive or
chemical means. Abrasive erasure, the kind one
normally does with a pencil eraser, disturbs the
finish of the paper surface. Depending on the
degree of damage, the evidence of erasure can be
seen with the unaided eye or a microscope. Some
samples require side lighting, placing a light source
at an angle to the surface of the paper, to detect an
erasure.

3. TYPES OF ERASURES
 1. Chemical Erasures: Different kind of chemicals
present now a days which remove all the content of
the ink where one can write with same flow.
 2. Physical Erasures: In this category Blades, Pins
or other things are used which remove the surface
of paper and also here we find the changes in the
ink dispersion.
