ISO 45001 is the world’s international standard for occupational health and safety, issued to protect employees and visitors from work-related accidents and diseases. ISO 45001 certification was developed to mitigate any factors that can cause employees and businesses irreparable harm.
Its standards are the result of great effort by a committee of health and safety management experts who looked closely at a number of other approaches to system management — including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. In addition, ISO 45001 was designed to take other existing occupational health and safety standards, such as OHSAS 18001, into account — as well as the ILO’s labor standards, conventions and safety guidelines.
This implementation guide will help you run through the benefits, PDCA Cycle, Annex SL structure in detail for implementing ISO 45001.

An Integrated Management System StandardRalph Reid
Many customers now require third party certification and/or compliance with a number of standards, e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14001. Others such as Corporate Responsibility are on the horizon. To date, suppliers have had to determine how to address these requirements in their management systems. As you might expect, there have been various approaches. The ISO organization has promoted the idea of an integrated management system standard for a long time. They will likely be unsuccessful without sector support, e.g. automotive, aerospace. Our initial discussions with suppliers indicate a high level of interest and support for a common automotive approach working through AIAG.

The purpose of this Standard is to help all kinds of organizations to: Improve the health and safety of a workforce Reduce accidents in the workplace WHY IS BS OHSAS 18001: 2000 CERTIFICATION IMPORTANT?
5. WHY IS BS OHSAS 18001: 2000 CERTIFICATION IMPORTANT? The Standard applies to all types of organisations, no matter how large or small and across all business sectors, and requires them to: Establish a Health& Safety Policy Set and review objectives and targets Be aware of current legal requirements Ensure competence through training of Management and Staff members Establish clearly documented processes for the monitoring and measurement of the organisation’s health & safety controls. Compliance with the BS OHSAS 18001 Standard, and the relevant UKAS-accredited certification, demonstrates your commitment to this important aspect of any business. WHY IS ISO14001:2004 CERTIFICATION IMPORTANT?
7. ISO14001 is recognised globally as the most important environmental Standard. It actively controls the way businesses and other organisations manage their environmental „footprint‟ and is, therefore, actively encouraged by governments throughout the world. The Standard applies to all types of organisations, no matter how large or small and across all business sectors, and requires them to: Establish an Environmental Policy Determine aspects of the organisation’s operation that can have an impact on the environment Set and review environmental objectives and targets Be aware of current legal requirements Ensure competence through training of Management and Staff members Establish clearly documented processes for the monitoring and measurement of the organisation’s environmental controls. Compliance with the ISO14001 Standard, and the relevant UKAS-accredited certification, demonstrates your “Green” credentials to the world at large and your clients in particular. It gives them the confidence to know that behind the certificate there is an organisation that is aware of its environmental responsibilities and is doing everything it can to minimise any adverse impact. WHY IS ISO14001:2004 CERTIFICATION IMPORTANT?
