This document summarizes research on the front covers of three existing magazine products. It finds that they commonly include bright, attractive photos; barcode and date information; and use color schemes and fonts that appeal to their target audiences. Aspects the document author will incorporate in their own work are barcode, date, bold title, three-color palette, engaging photos, page counts, and colored cover lines. The bibliography lists the three magazines researched: The English Garden, Thomson Holidays, and BBC Good Food.

because that is important to let the
audience know these are the most up-
to-date holidays.

for money off flights and
hotels.
There is no barcode
which means this is
free to take.
The logo Thomson is always red because that is their
identity. The public knows this and can identify
Thomson holidays from this colour scheme.

The picture looks so
delicious and nutritious
making the audience
feel hungry and wanting
to buy the magazine.
Most people love
make food.
The food is desirable
because the magazine is
the “BBC” which means
the food is made by
celebrity chefs on
television.
The picture of pancakes
made by the celebrity chef
Tom Kerridge will make
the audience want to be
the same as him.
There are 75 recipes
making the magazine
good value for money.
The magazine has a
star to remind the
audience there is an
articles about women
slimming.
There is also a barcode on
the cover because that is
important for the retailer
to keep track of how many
they have sold.
The text has pink and purple font because the
magazine is about Valentine’s Day which means
Valentine colours are red, pink and purple associated
with love.
The masthead has a sub-heading
beneath it, making the magazine
title stand out bold on the
newsagents rack.

Roman Times font looks
nice and clearly title and
it’s suitable for adults and
elderly.
Picture can make the audience
feel more cosy because the
garden look full of bright green
and sparkling.
Barcode is important as
regular because the
audience want to buy it
and the barcode will allow
them to buy it.
Date is important for
inform the audience
know when the
magazine have
release.
Most of elderly people
who love to doing with
the garden.

green garden and
some bunch of flowers

information about the
gardens like list of page
numbers to talk about
different styles of garden.
Also there had
website because the
audience want to get
more information
about the garden.
Cover lines had same font as headline called
New Roman Time because that font can make
the audience feel relax and calm.
Magazine had sub-headline for brief to
describe about the garden.

• They had same as bright and pure because magazines are suit to the adults.
• They had same as three colours like pink, purple and cream. They had nice and calm
colourful.
• They had same as attracting pictures because of course the magazine always have persuade
to the audience want to buy it.
• They had same as bar code and date because that is important for the audience to know
about it.
• They had same as number of page for talk about different styles.
• They had same as cover line had colours as well

• I would like similar as bright and bold title because I want my magazine look more attractive.
