Matthew Burniston considered creating an original audio drama but decided it would be too challenging and time consuming without an established storyline. While the format would let his imagination work and have a low production cost, discovering characters and wrapping up the story in a short time would be difficult without a pre-existing script. Instead, he chose to adapt an existing narrative that inspires him and allows creative freedom while having a base structure, giving him the drive to complete the project.

With this idea I wouldn't have to write/produce a
script and the cast would be low, however I'd like the
idea of challenge and much prefer the format of
audio drama/radio play, as it let the story work more
to the audience's imagination.

Despite that this would massively challenge me massively creatively, I've chosen not to do this idea as it's
not really an established story line meaning it's far more likely to be time consuming and especially so to
do the story any kind of justice. Ranging from discovering who the characters are and how they act and
react to wrapping the story up in to a small amount of time, in the addition of coming up with
completely new script from fresh...

The reason I chose this idea for this project is because I've
currently found that I'm very much inspired to do this –
meaning I have the drive to proceed with this project. On top of
this it's already got a narrative with enough wiggle room to
make it my own...
