2. Game art style
• The game style for fortnite uses cel-shading
visuals to make the game stand out and also
game uses a 3rd person perspective to make
sure that you can see all around you and the
game is made in 3D visuals, with them using
3D you can see all of the detail which they
have put into making each object in the game
as well as the detail which you see in each
character which they have made. As well they
have a slight amount of 1st person when you
use a weapon has a scope so that you can see
through it to see what is in the distance. The
game Is 3d which means you can move in all
directions as well as being able to turn around
and spin to be able to see something in your
perspective.

• In fortnite there is a wide range of different objects and different terrains in the
game world as well as having a vast range or architecture throughout the map,
every piece of architecture in the game can be destroyed as well as being reusable,
with the terrain it is the part of the world which cannot be interacted with as they
are there for the aesthetics of the game. And finally there are objects which can be
interacted with such as weapons or other pickups or things that you have to open.
“You can pretty much destroy everything except for the ground on which you walk
and the air you breathe.” as well you can build anything you want in the game to
traverse the landscape, “No cover? Build it.”

• With fortnite the cel-shading graphics have many positives
and negative as with using the cel-shading it isn’t as
demanding as other which have a similar genre of game which
have been made in the past such a player unknown
battlegrounds which has the same type of playing the game
but it is a lot more visually demanding as they have also gone
for both photorealistic as well as cel-shading.

5. Characters
• In Fortnite there is only two types of characters which are in the game being yourself
the playable character and then there is the enemy which is controlled by other users in
the game and also you have coop players which either strangers can play or people that
you know can play along side them. A downside to only being able to play with a few
friends is that a few get left out so they need to add so you can have as many as you
want in one specific team. An advantage of having other people control the characters
is that I gives you a level playing ground and nothing Is unfair as if you where to be
against the AI you would have less of a challenge than other people around the world.

6. Feedback interface
• Within the game of fortnite there is only one main feedback interface which would
be the rumple pad in the controller whenever you either fall and take damage or
get shot and also take damage, this has been put into the game so that you can
know when someone or something has happened to you, as well even though it is
not feedback interface as you get shot or take any type of damage you can visually
see on screen that you have taken damage. With the rumble pads they are really
good with helping you judge what is happening as well you can turn them of if
they are annoying which can hinder you but also could be helpful for those who
dislike it, as it can interfere with the game.

7. Game type
• In fortnite there is two game modes which can be played which are single-player
and multi-player which are more than likely in nearly every game as they would
get repetitive without the aspect of multi-player, with the multiplayer in fortnite
you can play with up to 4 players including yourself and then can play against 100
different people in groups in one game. And then with the single-player it is similar
but instead of being against other players you are up against waves of different
creatures which can be played cooperatively with 3 other friends and you have to
complete as many waves. The advantages of playing with 3 other friends would be
that you can all play and try and win and you come up against people with the
same amount of people in their group so that it is not unfair towards anyone who
is playing the game. But a slight disadvantage would be that you may have more 3
friends who want to play the game at once so they get left out from the rest.

8. Game setting
• The game setting for fortnite would be around the same time we are in an Is based
on a large island in the middle of no where, the aim of game is not to make the
game futuristic or oldie worldly as they want the game to be more realistic than
something being in the future or in the past. With the game being in the same
time setting it makes the audience prefer it as they know it isn’t aimed to be
unrealistic like many other shooter games out there. An advantage of having of not
changing the era of the game would be that they wouldn’t have to think about
knew inventive designs for futuristic objects, because as they don’t have to do that
they have more time to concentrate of the functions of the game. But a
disadvantage that I thought would occur would be that as they have based in our
era the public may find the game repetitive and they may want the game to be
based in a more unrealistic setting compared to what it is at this moment in time.
As you can see in this screenshot of the game to the left, the
game I modern as nothing futuristic has been added to the
game which was unwanted, the most futuristic thing in the
whole game is a bus with a balloon which floats across the
map and holds 100 people.

Video game addiction has a huge effect on
people lives and it is seen as an impulse control
disorder which has few signs which are hard to
spot.

10. Player goals
• Within fortnite battle royal there is slight player goals such as in the menus of the game as
you are about to start the game you are given daily objectives which you are given to
progress through the levels and the harder the objective the higher the reward that you
receive through completing them, these objectives which are given are usually to do with
either the amount of games you play or it asked you to kill a certain amount of people with
that specific weapon this keeps the audience more intrigued in the game because it isn’t stail
as there is something new which you have to do each day. An advantage to having the
objectives is that it keeps the gamer coming back daily to make sure that they can get to the
best possible level that they can but a slight disadvantage would be that they objectives are
rewarding enough to keep every player coming back daily which would decrease the amount
of people who play the game daily. An improvement which I think would work within the
community would be instead of rewarding XP to the user so that they level up quicker you
could reward the user with customization to their character including different skins for each
character that you can play with and also making the guns have different camos so that they
can collect them as they keep playing the game more and more and also they could find
exotic camo`s which other people have unlocked by killing them and then you could have the
ability to keep them if you won the game.

11. Rewards
• There are no achievements in this game as they haven’t fully released it as a full game as it is
in preview to the public and I think once it is fully released it will have achievements which
will increase the amount of hours people play on the game and the amount of people who
play the game. As well as this is a multi-player game they cannot include any cheats into the
game as people would use them to there advantage and there would no longer be a level
playing field. Also another thing they don't have that many unlockables in the game unless
you get to a certain level then you unlock a customisation for your character and then that is
it for the rest of the game unless you want to use in game purchases to change your
appearance of your character and also there are no trophies for the game as it is in preview
so they haven’t made any trophies.
• In this game there are no difficulties as it is a multiplayer game so you can change the
difficulty in the game.

12. Rules and the inventory
• In this game there are set rules which you shouldn’t break and the main one would be no
cheating otherwise you will get IP banned which makes it so that you have to get a new IP
address to make it so that you can play the game again, this is a really good way to make sure
that the servers have no cheaters on the game which will increase the amount of players as
they might not want to play because it would be an un level playing field. This is really the
only rule because there is not way to interfere with any other person in the game.
• Also in the game there is a basic inventory screen where you can select all of the objects
which you have just picked up while playing the game, and when you open up the inventory
and you can drop the objects which you have collected and you can select how many of each
object you want to drop for someone or just dropping it to pick something else up.

13. Winning and Balance
• In fortnite the way which you win Is that you must be the last person
or team alive and when you have done this there will be a prompt
which will tell you that you are the winner and to help see how people
are left it will tell you how many people are left to make sure that you
know how many you need to kill or for the other people to kill each
other off, the screenshot of the left hand side it shows you the prompt
which tells you have won “#1 Victory Royale!” but with winning there
is no rewards apart from under your stats it tells you that you have
more wins in each section being solo, duo and then squads which
makes the game less rewarding also on the left you can see how many
people are left and the amount of people that you have killed.
• Also there have made the game balanced for players as they patch the
game every so often which buffs or nurfs guns due to the being
overpowered, and also they have included things such as bullet drop
and recoil which gives the user a level playing field and know they will
have the same chance of killing someone with the exact same
weapons as the opponent. Also another thing which they do to make
the game balanced would be that they haven’t added any special
abilities or perks which make your character and also with them
making the game balanced people prefer the game to if it was very
unfair on the opponent.
• And finally in Fortnite Battle Royale there are no difficulties due to if
being a multiplayer game.
