Global Smartphone Market s Growth
The worldwide smartphone market grew 25.3% year over year in the second quarter of 2014
establishing a new single quarter record of 301.3 million shipments, according to data from the
International Data Corporation Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker. The global smartphone
market has witnessed extraordinary growth in recent years, with shipments rising by 40 percent in
2013 to exceed the 1 billion unit threshold and $266billion in value. CCS Insight forecasts smartphone
shipments of 1.89 billion units by 2018. Global Smartphone Market Total mobile phone shipments
that is, sales from manufacturers to the distribution channel in 2013 reached 1.83 billion units
globally, a year on year increase of 6 percent from 1.73 billion units in 2012. Although plenty of
growth remains in the smartphone segment, growth as a whole is slowing. Total handset market
growth of 6 percent in 2013 was down from 9 percent in 2012 and 13 percent in 2011. Smartphone
shipments exceeded the 1 billion unit mark for the first time in 2013, reaching 1.03 billion units and
accounting for 56 percent of total mobile phone shipments. This represented growth of 40 percent on
734 million units in 2012. Yet Smartphone shipment growth was down from 46 percent in 2012 and is
forecast to slow to 21 percent in 2014. Although mature markets such as North America and some
Western European markets are seeing fresh drive from network operators early upgrade programs,
smartphone growth in these markets is now

My Escape From Home
It is my first day at Westvalley high, and boy was my heart racing. I silently go over my mother s
words in my head. New school, new start, new friends. As much as I know this is not true, I try and
keep my hopes high. Trying my best to deny the constant feeling of being alone. But the truth is I am
not alone... I am standing in a crowded hallway listening to the sudden groans of students as they
realise they are no longer in the paradise they call home. Unfortunately for me the feeling of
loneliness just won t let go, somehow this school seems even lonelier than the dump I call home.
My mother is never home and maybe that is the reason her words feel so dear to my heart. Almost
every day she slaves away at work barely scraping up enough money to afford the rent only to be
greeted by my ill tempered father. My father is almost never happy and when he gets into one of his
moods it is hard to escape his fury. I guess you could think of school as an escape from home yet now
I feel more like a stranger than ever before.
Bring! Bring! Oh no! Here comes the first day of torture... I slowly stumble into the classroom making
sure my desk is the closest to the back. I couldn t bear the thought of sitting in the front again, not
after my last class. I sit silently as the roll is called only opening my mouth to murmur the word
present before returning back to my quiet self. I suppose when it all comes down to it most kids seem
alright at the least, but there is one girl that seems to

Voice in Writing Essay
Voice in Writing
There are many different forms and styles used in writing. Writing is a form of communication that is
used to document and express ideas people have. Through the years as people grow and learn knew
ways of writing, writing awareness of a person will evolve into a much higher level of thinking. From
the first term paper a person writes in high school to the papers they hand in at the college level, the
writing will have matured over the years. The authors of writing develop new and more sophisticated
ways in expressing themselves through the words they use in writing. Throughout history writers have
found ways in which they can achieve the goals of gaining the readers attention and keep them
interested. A good form of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If writers choose to use voice in their writing, they must consider which voice will represent their
writing the best. One of the first things that can come to mind in choosing a voice is the gender of the
voice that is going to be used. Gender becomes an important decision, because a male or female voice
may represent certain things better then the other gender. Male voices generally have a more
dominant, deep, loud sounding voice. Compared to a female voice which generally has a kind, softer
sounding voice. This may be sexist, but most people put a stereotype on different voices.
As people read things they have formed a stereotype on what gender the voice is coming from. For
example if a male reads a magazine article from a hunting magazine, they are going to think that a
male wrote it without even looking at who actually wrote the article. This is the same for females
reading a magazine about wearing make up, they have a stereotype of who writes these articles. Most
males and females are set in their ways, they have set stereotypes that grows with them as they grow
up. The gender of the voice in writing plays an important role of what stereotype the reader is going to
perceive.
People have a general stereotype of voice when it comes to gender. As people read they may try to
make an image of who is actually saying what they are reading, or create images of what they are

What Is A Trip To Madrid Essay
Hello, friends today I am going to tell you about my life s most dangerous, horrible, adventurous and
emotional story. This story related to my trip to Madrid yes it is the capital of Span by ship. So first I

It was the story of 2 years ago. When I was in 6th. I and my family (father, mother, and brother) go to
a restaurant for celebrating New Year. Where we were the 100th family to enter in the restaurant so
because of this we won the lucky draw. We got 4 tickets for travel to the three places (U.S.A, Madrid,

Death Of The Fallen At The Rancho 16
On June 25th, 2009, I was riding front passenger while my mom drove her red Ford Escape down
Highway 111. All of sudden a another vehicle speeds up on the left of us while at the same time my
mom change into the left lane. Trying to avoid our vehicle, the car spun out and rolled over. My mom
briefly lost control, but manage pull over to the side. While the accident was non collision the car and
my young mind were hardly unscathed. It was a weird day from the very beginning, my mom
announced out the nowhere that me and two brothers were going to the movies to see Transformers:
Revenge of the Fallen at the Rancho 16 which I found strange because I didn t think I deserve such a
rare treat. Before my mother and I left for the afternoon ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was the sound I ll never forget. Fast moving metal and rubber against asphalt and rock make a noise
that you only hear in the movies.
I thought we were going to spin out or that someone from behind would back end us. Luckily My
mom took control immediately and we pulled not far from the crash. We were okay, shaken, but okay.
I saw a few other cars coming over to the side and try to help, I remember seeing a grey Toyota
Corolla pulling over with a woman in a business pants suit rushing out her with a cell phone in her
hand. The SUV was completely wrecked and I didn t know the condition of the driver. I saw a
California Highway Patrol Officer who must have seen the whole thing because he was driving down
the other side traffic lights blazing, calmly speaking through his radio for backup.
My mom left to inspect the damage, while me and my brothers were sweating profusely in the
summer heat, I cracked my door open to allow colder air to circulate. The sounds of speeding cars off
the highway drowned out voices outside. I wanted to get out and get closer to the SUV, but I was
afraid of being told to go back by CHP officers.
Not long after I hear my mom s voice coming closer with a cop a not far behind, writing in his
notebook. Then they come into view mom showing officer the damage to the windshield. That made
him write furiously in the notebook taking in every detail. Another Officer came by and

How Cryptography Is Defined As A Major Factor During Wars,...
The Ignominious Tribe, the worlds second oldest profession, these are both describing the same thing,
the mysterious profession that lives in the shadows of history. Espionage. Governments fear it, yet it is
always a major factor during wars, and it isn t very well known by the general public. Men and
women throughout history who have fought in secret positions during wars, often placed into positions
of great danger. Why were they willing to risk so much for their countries? Profit? Honor?
Adrenaline? There are many aspects of the art of espionage, from the necessary grunt work of field
agents to the solid determination of cryptologists. Cryptography is defined as the art of writing and
solving codes, a necessary practice for all sides involved in any major battle or power struggle, an
example being World War II, where coding and cipher script were integral parts of the conflict, main
factors of every win or loss. Without cryptography, some estimate that the war would have lasted at
least two years longer than it did, thus proving the necessary function of cryptography. In the
following pages, the reader will learn a brief history of the evolution of cryptography, and how it was
important in such major recent struggles as WWII. This form of espionage has been an integral part of
history.
Espionage has been recognized as an important part of all military affairs since the beginnings of
recorded history. It began with, and still heavily relies upon, the various forms of

Summary Of Emma Bovary
Today, women are free to get divorced, become CEOs of public and private companies, and vote. In
19th century France, women s options were severely limited as they did not have equal property or
contract rights as men nor the right to vote. As a result, women had an extremely isolated existence
and marriage was the accepted way to gain wealth and social status . Women were defined by their
husbands and their power was subordinated to their authority. While many women were content with
this trapped life, Emma Bovary is not. She is trapped in a web of ennui: The feeling of mental
weariness and dissatisfaction produced by want of occupation, or lack of interest in present
surroundings or employments. She insists on gaining authority through forbidden relationships with
men outside her marriage, for there is more to life than her uninspired husband. Emma s desire to
write her own life story, resembling those of the novels she read in the convent as a young girl, is her
ultimate destruction as it drives her into an endless cycle of ennui and finally suicide.
Shortly after her marriage, Emma attempts to escape her ennui through writing and the power of
words. When Emma marries Charles Bovary and becomes Madame Bovary, she falls into a life [that]
was cold as a garret facing north, and ennui, the silent spider, was weaving its web in the darkness, in
every corner of her heart (38). Emma s life is as empty, dark, and isolated. Her loneliness surrounds
her and she recognizes and

The Idea Of Nationalism And The Indigo Planting Mirror
Introduction on The idea of nationalism in the colonial world in Deenabandhu Mitra s Neel Darpan
Neel Darpan; or The Indigo Planting Mirror is a Bengali play written by Dinabandhu
Mitra in 1858 1859. The play was essential to Neelbidraha, or Indigo revolt of
February March 1859 in Bengal, when farmers refused to plant indigo in their fields as a protest
against exploitative farming under the British Raj.
The preface to the play addresses the numerous indigo planters who are offered the neel darpan (the
indigo mirror), so that they may take a look reflected in it . In this play it reflects the social, political
and economic situations affected by the tyranny of the indigo planters which exploits the Indian
peasants.
The play is based on Mitra s experience as a postmaster in rural areas of Orissa and
Bengal. He saw the indigo farmer s oppression very closely. The trials of the peasants were not only
unjust but inhuman and exploitative in nature. Mitra wrote this play to raise a voice against the indigo
planters, jamindars and British officials. Gradually the message spread all around and the voices of the
peasants became the voice of the masses against the imperialism. This play s central theme is the
exploitation of

Essay On The Concept Of Limited Liability And The...
The Concept of Limited Liability and the Christian Worldview.
Morality cannot be legislated, but behavior can be regulated. Judicial decrees may not change the
heart, but they can restrain the heartless (Martin Luther King, Jr., Strength to Love, 1963). These
words of Martin Luther King, Jr. speaks volume to the society that we find ourselves. It is very rare to
come across business owners like Frank who wants to do what is right; first of all, by God and
secondly by the laws of the country. According to Henry Cheeseman, a limited liability company is an
unincorporated business entity that combines the most favorable attributes of general partnerships,
limited partnership, and corporations (Business Law: Legal Environment Online Commerce, Business

wrong with choosing sometimes that works for us so far as its in line with the law or with the bible if
we are Christians. The problem comes when there us an abuse of the system. Limited Limited
Company has a lot of advantages to the owners. What happens when there is an abuse of those
advantages. One of the protections of limited liability company is asset protection. It will be ethical

Gran Torino Ethos
We have seen Clint Eastwood many times before Gran Torino. Over a long career, he has portrayed
many distinctive roles that have included cowboys, police officers and boxing managers. Even though
the roles differed in time and place, they were often characterized by a strong sense of independence
and commitment to seeing difficult challenges through to the end. The end often meant the death of
villains. Eastwood s many roles have created an Eastwood ethos, or philosophy, that his fans have
been able to count on in each movie, no matter their genre or historical context. Gran Torino is a
departure from the Eastwood ethos, however, because of the way that Walt deals with the villains.

The scenes occur mostly in and around Walt s and Thao s homes over the course of a film. Editors
often use fade ins and fade outs to indicate changes in time, especially when the locations remain the
same. The editors used straight cuts rather than fades in expressing its story. In the scene when Walt
tells Thao to dig up a neighbour s tree, the editor uses various alternating scenes of Walt smoking and
watching while Thao digs in the rain. The cameras shots of Walt and Thao are separated by various
dissolves. What gives the film its strength is the way Eastwood shows Walt struggling with his
prejudices and coming to terms with a changing world and with his inner demons, many of the latter
stemming from the horrors he witnessed in the Korean War. Finally, it turns into a kind of modern
western, with Walt preparing for a finale. At the end of the film I have picked up a flaw and it appears
when Walt takes Thao to get a job and to see how true American friends of different backgrounds
work together. They do this through racial insults, calling each other wops and polack s, and there s a
very funny scene with Walt s pal, an Italian American barber. making jokes of race suggests an
unlikely mocking self awareness on Walt s part that makes his social isolation seem

Baseball As A National Pastime
Mary McGrory, an American journalist, writes, Baseball is what we were, and football is what we
have become ( Brainy Quotes ). Baseball is out and football is in. Only 27% of kids from ages 9 13
play baseball in the world today. There is no longer Take me out to the ball game, but let me watch the
game on my TV. Baseball as a national pastime has experienced a decline in popularity because of the
increase of popularity of football, length of the season and cost of a game, and length of plays and the
game itself. Some fans believe that the increase of popularity of sports other than baseball, such as
football, can be attributed to the average size of football stadiums and the average game attendance.
Americans in general like for things to be bigger and better and the statistics for football stadium size
and attendance show football facts far exceed baseball facts. For example, the Dallas Cowboys
stadium is the largest NFL stadium seating a whopping 80,000 plus 20,000 standing. By comparison,
the Los Angeles Dodgers, of the MLB, has the biggest stadium in baseball seating 56,000 ( ESPN ).
These stats show the increase in popularity of football compared to the decrease of popularity of
baseball. Research shows the Cowboys have demand for more seating because of the number of
tickets sold per game. The average game attendance for an NFL game is greater compared to that of an
MLB game. In fact, the Cowboys sell an average of 92,867 tickets per game. On the other hand,

How Important Did Edwin Chadwick Improve Public Health In...
How important was the role played by Edwin Chadwick in improving public health services in towns
in the nineteenth century? (16 marks)
Edwin Chadwick s hard work produced a mass of evidence supporting public health reforms. In 1842
his report that was published ( Report on the Sanitary Conditions of the Labouring Population )
influenced the government and persuaded people that reform was needed. His report s
recommendations were the basis for the 1848 Public Health Act.
However, Chadwick did have a few limitations along the way. His report in 1842 did not lead to
immediate reform. The Public Health Act came 6 years later in 1848 and this act did not force councils
to reform public health. His personality antagonised people and did ... Show more content on

The core of the project was completed by 1865 but because it was such a big project, it took another
10 years to complete. He made sure the system had a much higher capacity than was needed in the
1860s.
Other than this, there were other factors that helped improve public health such as the role of the
government. In 1867, working men in towns were given the right to vote and this meant the number of
voters doubled which increased again in 1884 and this mean politics changed drastically. In the
1870s/1880s many new laws were passed which were designed to improve the lives of ordinary
people such as the Public Health Act in 1875.
Another factor which helped improve public health was chance. The timing of the 1848 Public Health
Act was the result of the latest epidemic of cholera. As cholera spread across Europe in 1847 fear grew
in Britain of many thousands of deaths to come. Therefore the government finally followed Chadwick
s recommendations and passed the Public Health Act in the hope that this would reduce the impact of
cholera. However, the 1848 Act was not compulsory. Only 103 towns set up local Boards of Health.
Many more did not, and the National Board of Health, set up to oversee reforms, was abolished after
only six years in 1854.
The Great Stink in 1858 occurred in the summer which was really hot and this resulted in the smell
from the river growing worse. This added to the evidence that more

Comparing Obama s Narrative And Myth
Narrative and myth are central in political rhetoric. It is essential for a politician to place themselves
as narrators (story tellers) and to be identified as a representation of this story, because their primary
goal is to persuade as many people as possible to choose them as their leader. Two of the most
effective types of narrative are ethnic and civic and were central to Barak Obama s vision of a unified
America, during his campaign. By telling his personal story, which were ethnically and racially neutral
in tone, Obama manages to steer clear of the racial ethos as well as presenting his family as advocates
of the American political principles (or political ethos) of nationalism. His is a narrative of inclusion.
His personal story reflects the political myth of the American Creed (one in which America is united
by its political beliefs, regardless of religion or ethnicity) and puts forward widely held symbolic
perspectives of American nationalism, representing one s identity and loyalty to his/her nation.

Analytical Analysis Of Wes Anderson s Moonrise Kingdom
Analytical Paper on Moonrise Kingdom From the moment you turn on a Wes Anderson movie, you
can easily recognize it s his due to the unique style. Moonrise Kingdom is one of his most popular and
stylized films to date. One scene in particular I want to look into is the scene when Scout Master Ward
and the other scouts are introduced. (5:31 8:39) This scene is important to setting up the rest of the
movie. It introduces us to the antagonists for the first part of the film as well as showing that Sam ran
away from the camp. The opening shot to the scene tells you everything about the location. The
wooden sign lets you know right away that they re in a boy scout camp, while the sign also works as a
frame around the tents in the background. (5:31 5:42) Then it cuts to Scout Master Ward exiting a tent
and going about his daily business. From the moment his character is introduced, you can tell that he s
in a position of power. (5:42 5:55) This claim is further supported when all the characters are sitting at
the breakfast table, and Scout Master Ward sits in the middle. (7:43 7:53) Most films may have Scout
Master Ward sitting at the head of the table, however with the way this scene is shot, it makes sense
that he be in the exact middle to show his power dynamic.
All the colors in the scene have an earthy tone, meaning there is a lot of browns, dark greens and
yellows. This works because they re supposed to be at a boy scout camp, and are learning to be

In response to great opposition to United States involvement in the Vietnam War, the antiwar
movement of the 1960s sprung forth. A vast majority of involvement in this movement was
represented on college campuses across the nation. Many college students wholeheartedly believed
that the war in Vietnam served no point. America was simply once again sticking its nose in business
that was not our own. As a result of the war, universities nationwide in the sixties were in uproar as
students attempted to express their opinions through both violent and nonviolent means. Anti Vietnam

two, banging on the podium when he approached. The crowd witnessing the event went wild and
stood to applaud Susman, and the remainder of the teach in proved to be just as out of control. Eleven
speeches were given in all discussing U.S. involvement in Vietnam and other pertinent issues. This
teach in at Rutgers was similar to many others nationwide that took place on college campuses in
opposition to the war (Hochman 2). Another teach in took place at the University of California
Berkely. It was the largest teach in yet and it lasted for thirty six hours and over thirty thousand people
participated in it. There were also marches on Washington Avenue in which twenty five thousand
people attended. These marches became popular when the college students went home for the summer
(Wells 25). Also, in the early 1960s drastic social change was being pushed from another direction at
universities. An organization known as Students for a Democratic Society sprung forth in order to

The effect the 1982 Falklands War had on Margaret Thatcher s political career, in particular the
election in 1983
During the 1970s and 1980s, Britain was going through a difficult time and the Government was
facing many problems; a lack of free markets, the public s lack of support and a failing economy.
People were unhappy and unsatisfied and for many people living in Britain, Margaret Thatcher was
the reason why.
Margaret Thatcher became the first female Prime Minister in 1979 when the Conservatives won the
general election. However; Thatcher was not the most popular politician of her time. Before 1982

We were defending our honor as a nation, and principles of fundamental importance to the whole
world. (Burns, 2012). Thatcher s comment shows how the Falkland s War not only helped Margaret
Thatcher herself but it helped Britain too by giving the country a sense of hope and pride.
By 1892 Thatcher had no choice but to use military force, although she worked closely with the
United States at trying to achieve a diplomatic solution, as suggested (Biography, 1991). But when
diplomacy failed, she dispatched a military task force that accomplished her goal. (Margaret Thatcher
s Legacy Partly Hinged on Falklands Islands War, 2013).Military action was instantly successful and
the Falkland Islands were back under British control by June 1982. Thatcher had taken a great risk and
did what not many leaders of that time were willing to do (Biography, 2014). As (Burns, 2012) states,
the war was vital to Thatcher s mission for her country and it gave her domestic programme and added
zeal .
In 1983 Thatcher had a second five years and it seemed difficult to believe, that just eight years before
this election success she was an almost unknown politician, from the small town of Grantham; a mere

Zeitoun s life is in danger and he got put in prison without any sort of warning but he s also alone; he

Effects of Agricultural Production on Water Quality
Introduction:
Agriculture should be seen as an industry in the business of producing food and not as a natural
system, and as in all industries it requires materials to be consumed in the production. If not all the
materials are consumed in production they may become dispersed into the environment. This
agricultural industry can be divided into two major areas, plant and animal production.
The production of plants requires large amounts of water, between 200 and 500 liters per kg of
product, and high mineral content in the form of fertilizers. Each hectare of land gets an input of
around 100 kg nitrogen, 16 kg phosphorus, and 100 kg potassium. The effects on the environment are
determent on the amount used and the farmer s skill in using the correct application timing and rates.
What is not used in the plant production can be dispersed into the environment.
The biggest product of plant production is feed for the production of animals. In this process most of
the plant products are processed on the field leaving no containment or control in the process.
This paper discusses the effects of agricultural production on water quality. This is caused as a result
of pesticides and fertilizers used to enhanced production ending up in the water. The main focus will
be on fertilizer, primarily nitrogen.
The Chemistry:
To reach the output needed to produce a product on the global level agriculture as many industries has
gone to chemistry to improve their product. The use of

Shopping Center At Rayzor Ranch Marketplace
I. Selected Shopping Center Rayzor Ranch Marketplace has a diverse selection of 42 retailers
covering an 800,000 square foot lot. The marketplace was established in Fall of 2010. It is located off
of Highway 380 and University Dr. in Denton, Texas. Having only been around for 5 years the
shopping center appears very contemporary compared to older shopping centers nearby. The parking
lots are clean and trash free and the paint stripes are easily visible. The landscape is very well kept and
there are potted flowers in the gathering areas. Overall the shopping center provides a refreshing look
to the community. II. Location The Rayzor Ranch Marketplace is conveniently located on University
Dr. one of Denton s busiest streets. Located across the street is another shopping center and a total of 3
gas stations surrounding the location. There are 3 main entrances to the shopping center. Consumers
can also access the center through a gas station parking lot located right next to the shopping center.
Although the traffic is usually free flowing, during rush hours the entryways can become congested.
The Shopping Center is constantly booming and has increased the traffic flow in the area. The success
of the shopping center would lead me to conclusion that center is a destination. III. Retailer

Structure and Function of the Lymphatic and Skeletal Systems
STRUCTURE AND FUNCTION OF THE LYMPHATIC SYSTEM:
Being a part of the circulatory system, lymphatic vessels link all the major organs to the main
circulation. Apart from a network of conduits, the lymphatic system also connects various lymphoid
tissues. Lymph nodes, spleen, liver and the bone marrow are all part of the lymphoid system. Together,
these systems play a vital role in the body s defense mechanisms. (Martini Bartholomew, 2010)
Apart from participating in the body s immune system, the lymphatic system also plays a part in fluid
balance and fat absorption from the gastrointestinal tract. As the blood and plasma circulate in the
blood vessels, a large part of it leaks into the tissue. Lymphatic vessels hold the responsibility of
carrying this fluid back to the main circulation. (Guyton Hall, 2011)
Another function of the lymphatic system is to aid absorption of lipids from the small intestine. The
major end products of triglyceride digestion are 2 monoglycerides and fatty acids, which then diffuse
as micelles into the brush border in the small intestine. In the mucosal cell, triglycerides are re
synthesized to form lipid droplets, known as chylomicrons. These leave the intestine in lymphatic
vessels and enter the blood stream through the thoracic duct. (Guyton Hall, 2011)
STRUCTURE AND FUNCTIONS OF THE LYMPHATIC AND SKELETAL SYSTEM:
The most complex relationship of the lymphatic system is with the lymphoid and skeletal system. The
complexity of this

Mousepox Model
Smallpox is an acute contagious viral disease that has a relatively high fatality rate in immunologically
naive populations. It is caused by variola virus, which is a member of a larger pox family of viruses.
Smallpox can manifest itself in two clinical forms (variola major and variola minor) and it can be
transmitted from person to person. There is no specific treatment for this disease other than the
management of symptoms.
It is believed that smallpox originated about 3000 years ago in either Egypt or India. Due to its high
mortality rate, outbreaks of this disease had a significant impact on the course of history. During the
twentieth century alone, smallpox is estimated to have caused over 500 million human deaths around
the world.

Ordinary smallpox can be found between those two extreme scenarios.
Establishing a diagnosis
In December 1979, a scientific commission concluded that smallpox had been globally eradicated and
the World Health Assembly endorsed its findings in 1980. Nevertheless, a future outbreak of smallpox
due to the release of variola virus whether accidental or deliberate cannot be fully excluded.
Due to the serious consequences of a diagnosis or misdiagnosis of smallpox, it is of utter most
importance to reliably and unambiguously identify smallpox, as well as to differentiate it from other
similar clinical entities. Although there are other causes of rash that present as vesicles and pustules,
smallpox can be distinguished by severe prodrome and its course.
Clinical case definition of smallpox states that this disease presents with acute onset of fever greater
than 101 °F (or 38.3 °C), followed by a rash characterized by firm, deep seated vesicles or pustules in
the same stage of development without any other apparent

Akuthota Muscular Control Model
Low back pain is presumed to occur in 85 90% of the adult population at least onset throughout an
individual s lifespan (Bono, 2004). The core as described by Akuthota et al (2008) is a muscular box
with the abdominals in the front, paraspinals and gluteals in the rear, the diaphragm at the top, and the
pelvic floor and hip girdle musculature at the bottom. Within the box multiple muscles help to
stabilize the spine and pelvis as well as transmit forces through the kinetic chain. Without the stability
provided by the core musculature the spine would become unstable with forces less the 90 N when
loaded anteriorly, which is considerably less than the weight of the torso (Akuthota, Ferreiro, Moore

Legalization Of Polygamy In The United States
In today s developing world it is common for people to desire and be affectionate with more than one
spouse. It seems difficult for one person, man or woman to commit to being with one spouse,
therefore the divorce rates are increasing every day. The question remains whether this act should be
legalized or not.
Polygamy is having more than one spouse. There are different types of polygamy; these include
polygamy where a man has multiple wives, polyandry in which a woman has multiple husbands, and
group marriage where a family consists of multiple husbands and wives. Polygamy is definitely the
most popular of the three listed. In the United States the practice of any form of polygamy is illegal
and due to this law, many adherents of the lifestyle stays hidden. My perspective of polygamy is that
having more than one spouse should remain illegal because marriage means committing to one person
alone.
Having more than one spouse can cause many issues for the family. Financial issues, lack of attention
and affection to the other wives, one of the wives may feel like the husband is giving more attention ...

Polygamy brings many problems in a family life, but some people support it because it doesn t
conflict with religion. In my opinion, polygamy should not be legalized. By not legalizing polygamy
in the United States is a great way to save families from suffering. Polygamy doesn t only give a bad
effect for the wives but for the children s psychology. Polygamy can also encourage the idea that
women are considered objects that men can own. Eventually, this can lead to abuse and other issues
that no one should ever have to deal with. These relationships will cause hatred, jealousy, depressed,
and an emotional burden among the family members. Therefore, polygamous marriage is not a right
thing to do. It just causes more problems, women, and children suffer from

Pelvising Position
Proper positioning of patient is one of the most significant components of physical therapy. Safe and
comfortable position is recommended by health care professional. This process should apply
immediately after accident and continue during all phases of recovery. Suitable positioning assists in
stimulating motor function, raises sensory awareness, improve respiration and can help normal range
of motion in trunk and extremities. One of the most important effects of positioning is to prevent
pressure ulcers. Mostly patients lie on back, involved side of non affected side. The body points that
should be considered are shoulder and pelvis. Gluteus maximus and rhomboid muscles become stiff

order to decrease spasticity and tightness.(Mehrholz, 2012) Patient in supine position: placing a small

Abstract
The aim of this investigation is to find a correlation between the number of maggots in the mass and
the temperature of maggot mass. To find the correlation the different number of maggots in each mass
was placed in (the isolated by glass beakers) polystyrene cups. The internal temperature of masses was
obtained regularly every 10 minutes during 30 minutes time period under the same temperature of
surroundings. The experiment was repeated several times and all results were recorded, averages were

How the number of maggots in mass affects the temperature of the mass and development of the
mass?
Larvae can form feeding masses on a corpse and can generate an enormous amount of heat. They
develop slower at lower temperatures and more rapidly at higher temperatures because metabolic rate
is more active at higher temperatures and slower at lower temperatures. As larvae are poikilothermic
(cold blooded) the major factor which can increase the metabolic activity of them is external
temperature.
How temperature affects enzymes?
Enzymes are very large globular proteins with three dimensional shapes which is vital for enzyme
activity as natural catalyst in chemical reactions within the living organisms (7).
The rate of enzyme catalyzed reaction increases as the temperature is raised (). An increase of
temperature by 1 2 degrees may introduce changes of 10% 20% in the results. As the temperature
increases the kinetic energy that molecules possess increases as well. This results in more random
collisions of substrate and enzymes increasing rate of the chemical reaction, more product is formed
(6). The metabolic rate of an organism increases, hence it develops faster. However metabolic activity
of the larvae cannot be responsible for high mass temperatures which affect larval development. The
heat produced by larvae is normally heat to regulate body temperature.
Increasing in temperature also increases the vibrating energy in molecules. High temperatures can
denature

Death Of Benny Paret Rhetorical Analysis

boxing. This passage is based upon Benny Parent and Griffith, who are club fighters. Mailer uses
imagery to describe the violence of the fight. Motifs that are used in this passage are death, simile, and
animalistic imagery. Mailer witnesses the tragic death of Paret. Through many motifs, Mailer is able to
have an effect on his audience, allowing them to feel the same horror. The passage centers on death
and Mailer uses imagery to go into detail and explain how horrifying the death of Paret was. While
Griffith was dominating Paret before the round was over, Paret began to wilt. This creates an image in

Her first book chapter, Boy Girls and Girl Beasts: The Gender Paradox in C.S Lewis s The Chronicles
of Narnia was published in the collection, C.S Lewis: The Chronicles of Narnia. The chapter focuses
on the gender ideology and feminist interpretations of Narnia. Rodriguez takes a feminist standpoint in
her essay and comments on the way the female characters are portrayed throughout the story. She
notices that although most female characters, such as Lucy and Susan are present during the
adventures, they are not as important as the male characters. They are seen more as worldly subjects,
where the boy s always lead in Narnia (boy s world). In the second part of her essay, she brings
attention to the gender injustice done to Susan. Rodriguez analyzes Susan s situation and explains why
Susan is the only character that is excluded from the last book due to her maturity and need to fulfil
her sexual identity. Overall, this source is not only helpful because it supports my argument on gender
discrimination, but I can use it when I analyze Susan s character and her role in the story. I will be able

  • 3. My Escape From Home It is my first day at Westvalley high, and boy was my heart racing. I silently go over my mother s words in my head. New school, new start, new friends. As much as I know this is not true, I try and keep my hopes high. Trying my best to deny the constant feeling of being alone. But the truth is I am not alone... I am standing in a crowded hallway listening to the sudden groans of students as they realise they are no longer in the paradise they call home. Unfortunately for me the feeling of loneliness just won t let go, somehow this school seems even lonelier than the dump I call home. My mother is never home and maybe that is the reason her words feel so dear to my heart. Almost every day she slaves away at work barely scraping up enough money to afford the rent only to be greeted by my ill tempered father. My father is almost never happy and when he gets into one of his moods it is hard to escape his fury. I guess you could think of school as an escape from home yet now I feel more like a stranger than ever before. Bring! Bring! Oh no! Here comes the first day of torture... I slowly stumble into the classroom making sure my desk is the closest to the back. I couldn t bear the thought of sitting in the front again, not after my last class. I sit silently as the roll is called only opening my mouth to murmur the word present before returning back to my quiet self. I suppose when it all comes down to it most kids seem alright at the least, but there is one girl that seems to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If writers choose to use voice in their writing, they must consider which voice will represent their writing the best. One of the first things that can come to mind in choosing a voice is the gender of the voice that is going to be used. Gender becomes an important decision, because a male or female voice may represent certain things better then the other gender. Male voices generally have a more dominant, deep, loud sounding voice. Compared to a female voice which generally has a kind, softer sounding voice. This may be sexist, but most people put a stereotype on different voices. As people read things they have formed a stereotype on what gender the voice is coming from. For example if a male reads a magazine article from a hunting magazine, they are going to think that a male wrote it without even looking at who actually wrote the article. This is the same for females reading a magazine about wearing make up, they have a stereotype of who writes these articles. Most males and females are set in their ways, they have set stereotypes that grows with them as they grow up. The gender of the voice in writing plays an important role of what stereotype the reader is going to perceive. People have a general stereotype of voice when it comes to gender. The Ignominious Tribe, the worlds second oldest profession, these are both describing the same thing, the mysterious profession that lives in the shadows of history. Espionage. Honor? Adrenaline? There are many aspects of the art of espionage, from the necessary grunt work of field agents to the solid determination of cryptologists. Cryptography is defined as the art of writing and solving codes, a necessary practice for all sides involved in any major battle or power struggle, an example being World War II, where coding and cipher script were integral parts of the conflict, main factors of every win or loss. • 9. Summary Of Emma Bovary Today, women are free to get divorced, become CEOs of public and private companies, and vote. In 19th century France, women s options were severely limited as they did not have equal property or contract rights as men nor the right to vote. As a result, women had an extremely isolated existence and marriage was the accepted way to gain wealth and social status . Women were defined by their husbands and their power was subordinated to their authority. While many women were content with this trapped life, Emma Bovary is not. She is trapped in a web of ennui: The feeling of mental weariness and dissatisfaction produced by want of occupation, or lack of interest in present surroundings or employments. She insists on gaining authority through forbidden relationships with men outside her marriage, for there is more to life than her uninspired husband. Emma s desire to write her own life story, resembling those of the novels she read in the convent as a young girl, is her ultimate destruction as it drives her into an endless cycle of ennui and finally suicide. Shortly after her marriage, Emma attempts to escape her ennui through writing and the power of words. When Emma marries Charles Bovary and becomes Madame Bovary, she falls into a life [that] was cold as a garret facing north, and ennui, the silent spider, was weaving its web in the darkness, in every corner of her heart (38). The Idea Of Nationalism And The Indigo Planting Mirror Introduction on The idea of nationalism in the colonial world in Deenabandhu Mitra s Neel Darpan Neel Darpan; or The Indigo Planting Mirror is a Bengali play written by Dinabandhu Mitra in 1858 1859. The play was essential to Neelbidraha, or Indigo revolt of February March 1859 in Bengal, when farmers refused to plant indigo in their fields as a protest against exploitative farming under the British Raj. The preface to the play addresses the numerous indigo planters who are offered the neel darpan (the indigo mirror), so that they may take a look reflected in it . In this play it reflects the social, political and economic situations affected by the tyranny of the indigo planters which exploits the Indian peasants. The play is based on Mitra s experience as a postmaster in rural areas of Orissa and Bengal. He saw the indigo farmer s oppression very closely. The trials of the peasants were not only unjust but inhuman and exploitative in nature. Mitra wrote this play to raise a voice against the indigo planters, jamindars and British officials. Gradually the message spread all around and the voices of the peasants became the voice of the masses against the imperialism. This play s central theme is the exploitation of ... • 13. Gran Torino Ethos We have seen Clint Eastwood many times before Gran Torino. Over a long career, he has portrayed many distinctive roles that have included cowboys, police officers and boxing managers. Even though the roles differed in time and place, they were often characterized by a strong sense of independence and commitment to seeing difficult challenges through to the end. The end often meant the death of villains. Eastwood s many roles have created an Eastwood ethos, or philosophy, that his fans have been able to count on in each movie, no matter their genre or historical context. Gran Torino is a departure from the Eastwood ethos, however, because of the way that Walt deals with the villains. Walt s miming the shooting of the gangbangers with his fingers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The scenes occur mostly in and around Walt s and Thao s homes over the course of a film. Editors often use fade ins and fade outs to indicate changes in time, especially when the locations remain the same. The editors used straight cuts rather than fades in expressing its story. In the scene when Walt tells Thao to dig up a neighbour s tree, the editor uses various alternating scenes of Walt smoking and watching while Thao digs in the rain. The cameras shots of Walt and Thao are separated by various dissolves. What gives the film its strength is the way Eastwood shows Walt struggling with his prejudices and coming to terms with a changing world and with his inner demons, many of the latter stemming from the horrors he witnessed in the Korean War. Finally, it turns into a kind of modern western, with Walt preparing for a finale. At the end of the film I have picked up a flaw and it appears when Walt takes Thao to get a job and to see how true American friends of different backgrounds work together. They do this through racial insults, calling each other wops and polack s, and there s a very funny scene with Walt s pal, an Italian American barber. making jokes of race suggests an unlikely mocking self awareness on Walt s part that makes his social isolation seem ... Baseball is out and football is in. Only 27% of kids from ages 9 13 play baseball in the world today. There is no longer Take me out to the ball game, but let me watch the game on my TV. Baseball as a national pastime has experienced a decline in popularity because of the increase of popularity of football, length of the season and cost of a game, and length of plays and the game itself. Some fans believe that the increase of popularity of sports other than baseball, such as football, can be attributed to the average size of football stadiums and the average game attendance. Americans in general like for things to be bigger and better and the statistics for football stadium size and attendance show football facts far exceed baseball facts. For example, the Dallas Cowboys stadium is the largest NFL stadium seating a whopping 80,000 plus 20,000 standing. By comparison, the Los Angeles Dodgers, of the MLB, has the biggest stadium in baseball seating 56,000 ( ESPN ). These stats show the increase in popularity of football compared to the decrease of popularity of baseball. Research shows the Cowboys have demand for more seating because of the number of tickets sold per game. The average game attendance for an NFL game is greater compared to that of an MLB game. In fact, the Cowboys sell an average of 92,867 tickets per game. On the other hand, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

(16 marks) Edwin Chadwick s hard work produced a mass of evidence supporting public health reforms. In 1842 his report that was published ( Report on the Sanitary Conditions of the Labouring Population ) influenced the government and persuaded people that reform was needed. His report s recommendations were the basis for the 1848 Public Health Act. However, Chadwick did have a few limitations along the way. His report in 1842 did not lead to immediate reform. The core of the project was completed by 1865 but because it was such a big project, it took another 10 years to complete. He made sure the system had a much higher capacity than was needed in the 1860s. Other than this, there were other factors that helped improve public health such as the role of the government. In 1867, working men in towns were given the right to vote and this meant the number of voters doubled which increased again in 1884 and this mean politics changed drastically. In the 1870s/1880s many new laws were passed which were designed to improve the lives of ordinary people such as the Public Health Act in 1875. Another factor which helped improve public health was chance. The timing of the 1848 Public Health Act was the result of the latest epidemic of cholera. As cholera spread across Europe in 1847 fear grew in Britain of many thousands of deaths to come. Therefore the government finally followed Chadwick s recommendations and passed the Public Health Act in the hope that this would reduce the impact of cholera. However, the 1848 Act was not compulsory. Only 103 towns set up local Boards of Health. Many more did not, and the National Board of Health, set up to oversee reforms, was abolished after only six years in 1854. It is essential for a politician to place themselves as narrators (story tellers) and to be identified as a representation of this story, because their primary goal is to persuade as many people as possible to choose them as their leader. Two of the most effective types of narrative are ethnic and civic and were central to Barak Obama s vision of a unified America, during his campaign. By telling his personal story, which were ethnically and racially neutral in tone, Obama manages to steer clear of the racial ethos as well as presenting his family as advocates of the American political principles (or political ethos) of nationalism. Analytical Analysis Of Wes Anderson s Moonrise Kingdom Analytical Paper on Moonrise Kingdom From the moment you turn on a Wes Anderson movie, you can easily recognize it s his due to the unique style. Moonrise Kingdom is one of his most popular and stylized films to date. One scene in particular I want to look into is the scene when Scout Master Ward and the other scouts are introduced. (5:31 8:39) This scene is important to setting up the rest of the movie. It introduces us to the antagonists for the first part of the film as well as showing that Sam ran away from the camp. The opening shot to the scene tells you everything about the location. The wooden sign lets you know right away that they re in a boy scout camp, while the sign also works as a frame around the tents in the background. (5:31 5:42) Then it cuts to Scout Master Ward exiting a tent and going about his daily business. From the moment his character is introduced, you can tell that he s in a position of power. (5:42 5:55) This claim is further supported when all the characters are sitting at the breakfast table, and Scout Master Ward sits in the middle. (7:43 7:53) Most films may have Scout Master Ward sitting at the head of the table, however with the way this scene is shot, it makes sense that he be in the exact middle to show his power dynamic. All the colors in the scene have an earthy tone, meaning there is a lot of browns, dark greens and yellows. • 21. Effects of Agricultural Production on Water Quality Introduction: Agriculture should be seen as an industry in the business of producing food and not as a natural system, and as in all industries it requires materials to be consumed in the production. If not all the materials are consumed in production they may become dispersed into the environment. This agricultural industry can be divided into two major areas, plant and animal production. The production of plants requires large amounts of water, between 200 and 500 liters per kg of product, and high mineral content in the form of fertilizers. Each hectare of land gets an input of around 100 kg nitrogen, 16 kg phosphorus, and 100 kg potassium. The effects on the environment are determent on the amount used and the farmer s skill in using the correct application timing and rates. What is not used in the plant production can be dispersed into the environment. The biggest product of plant production is feed for the production of animals. In this process most of the plant products are processed on the field leaving no containment or control in the process. This paper discusses the effects of agricultural production on water quality. This is caused as a result of pesticides and fertilizers used to enhanced production ending up in the water. The main focus will be on fertilizer, primarily nitrogen. • 23. Structure and Function of the Lymphatic and Skeletal Systems STRUCTURE AND FUNCTION OF THE LYMPHATIC SYSTEM: Being a part of the circulatory system, lymphatic vessels link all the major organs to the main circulation. Apart from a network of conduits, the lymphatic system also connects various lymphoid tissues. Lymph nodes, spleen, liver and the bone marrow are all part of the lymphoid system. Together, these systems play a vital role in the body s defense mechanisms. (Martini Bartholomew, 2010) Apart from participating in the body s immune system, the lymphatic system also plays a part in fluid balance and fat absorption from the gastrointestinal tract. As the blood and plasma circulate in the blood vessels, a large part of it leaks into the tissue. Lymphatic vessels hold the responsibility of carrying this fluid back to the main circulation. (Guyton Hall, 2011) Another function of the lymphatic system is to aid absorption of lipids from the small intestine. The major end products of triglyceride digestion are 2 monoglycerides and fatty acids, which then diffuse as micelles into the brush border in the small intestine. In the mucosal cell, triglycerides are re synthesized to form lipid droplets, known as chylomicrons. These leave the intestine in lymphatic vessels and enter the blood stream through the thoracic duct. Larvae can form feeding masses on a corpse and can generate an enormous amount of heat. They develop slower at lower temperatures and more rapidly at higher temperatures because metabolic rate is more active at higher temperatures and slower at lower temperatures. As larvae are poikilothermic (cold blooded) the major factor which can increase the metabolic activity of them is external temperature. How temperature affects enzymes? Enzymes are very large globular proteins with three dimensional shapes which is vital for enzyme activity as natural catalyst in chemical reactions within the living organisms (7). The rate of enzyme catalyzed reaction increases as the temperature is raised (). An increase of temperature by 1 2 degrees may introduce changes of 10% 20% in the results. As the temperature increases the kinetic energy that molecules possess increases as well. This results in more random collisions of substrate and enzymes increasing rate of the chemical reaction, more product is formed (6). The metabolic rate of an organism increases, hence it develops faster. However metabolic activity of the larvae cannot be responsible for high mass temperatures which affect larval development. The heat produced by larvae is normally heat to regulate body temperature. Increasing in temperature also increases the vibrating energy in molecules. High temperatures can denature ... Her first book chapter, Boy Girls and Girl Beasts: The Gender Paradox in C.S Lewis s The Chronicles of Narnia was published in the collection, C.S Lewis: The Chronicles of Narnia. The chapter focuses on the gender ideology and feminist interpretations of Narnia. Rodriguez takes a feminist standpoint in her essay and comments on the way the female characters are portrayed throughout the story. She notices that although most female characters, such as Lucy and Susan are present during the adventures, they are not as important as the male characters. They are seen more as worldly subjects, where the boy s always lead in Narnia (boy s world). In the second part of her essay, she brings attention to the gender injustice done to Susan. Rodriguez analyzes Susan s situation and explains why Susan is the only character that is excluded from the last book due to her maturity and need to fulfil her sexual identity. Overall, this source is not only helpful because it supports my argument on gender discrimination, but I can use it when I analyze Susan s character and her role in the story.
