Simon Says Research Paper
Simon Says is a game that helps in the development of a child s performance skills during middle
childhood. It is a great way to help them exercise their listening skills and self control. The game helps
to develop the child s motor, processing, and social skills. In this paper, I will discuss how to play
Simon Says and briefly discuss how the game helps contribute to a child s performance skills motor,
processing, and social. Simon Says is played with three or more players. To play, one person takes the
role of Simon and starts off by saying, Simon says, [insert action command here] . Everyone must
then perform the action Simon says to do. If Simon makes an action command without saying, Simon
says first, anyone who performs that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, if Simon says to stand on one foot, it helps the child stabilize. If Simon says to lift one
arm up, it helps them practice their reach. If Simon says to touch your toes, the child bends down.
Many different motor skills can be exercised during this game, it all depends on what Simon says to
do. Simon Says is also helps children to exercise their processing skills. In playing the game, it helps
the child to practice either giving or following directions. Sequencing is practiced as Simon says to
jump first, and then pat your head. The child notices and responds to Simon s action requests and
other friends playing the game, which in turn teaches them self control. They learn to be patient,
listen, and follow directions. Lastly, Simon Says helps the child exercise their social skills. In order to
participate in the game, they must approach others and interact with them. This helps them express
emotion and gesticulate during the game from the excitement of who performs an action correctly, and
who does not. They respond to Simon s requests by carefully listening to Simon and acknowledging
what he says to do, which in turn teaches the child to listen and follow directions. They learn to take
turns being Simon which contributes to learning how to

Essay Dead Sea Scrolls
Dead Sea Scrolls The Dead Sea Scrolls are a group of 800 900 manuscripts found in caves at Qumran
east of Jerusalem and north west of the Dead Sea. The first scrolls were discovered in 1947 by a
shepherd boy who wandered into a cave after a stray goat. The texts are believed to have been hidden
in eleven caves for safe keeping prior to the destruction of Rome in A.D.70. The scrolls are a
collection of biblical and non biblical documents comprising of the Hebrew Bible, (every book except
Esther); the Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha; rules for community life; biblical commentaries; a
Testimonia, (a collection of verses from the Bible about the Messiah); a War Scroll; Temple Scroll;

This discovery shows the extraordinary accuracy between the two sets of manuscripts. The texts are
believed to have been written by a strict Jewish sect called the Essenes. This religious community led
by one they called the Teacher of Righteousness lived a demanding routine of self discipline. Their
interpretation of the law was severe, they held fellowship meals to which admission was closely
guarded. They interpreted prophetic scripture as referring to events of their own day and believed that
they had an important part to play in the hope of Israel. 2
HOW MUCH CAN THEY HELP US UNDERSTAND THE NEW TESTAMENT? The dead sea
scrolls offer unique information from a time during the second temple period when Jewish religious
and political life in Palestine was full of corruption and conflict. There were three main Jewish groups
during this time; the Pharisees, the Sadducees and the Essenes. It has also been confirmed that there
were many other groups and movements in Secondary Temple Judaism. It is now evident that Judaism
in the land of Israel was open to Greek influences from the 3rd century onwards in the areas of
language, economics, military strategy, politics, culture and religion .3 The scrolls shed light on the
time when Jesus and John the Baptist lived and the beliefs of the early Christians. We are given
information on the way things were at that time; the laws of the day, things that Jesus and the apostles
had trouble

Ralph wanted to be the leader too so they all decided to vote and Ralph agrees. At the end they chose

Christ And The Holy Spirit. Introduction. This Week We
CHRIST AND THE HOLY SPIRIT
INTRODUCTION
This week we studied Pneumatology, the doctrine of the Holy Spirit. It was an opportunity to learn
about this unsung hero of the Trinity who, though ever present with us, we seldom mention or think of
and often do not give the respect he merits. In this paper, we will address the relationship between the
Holy Spirit and Jesus resurrection and ascension and how the Holy Spirit is involved in those events.
We will also examine the Holy Spirit s work of regeneration and its impact on believers in the church.
SUMMARY
When Jesus ascended into heaven, he sent the Holy Spirit to the church. (Lecture 3). He was returning
to the Father, and he left the Holy Spirit here to help all humanity. While Jesus ... Show more content

Through the Holy Spirit, Jesus remains the shepherd king for all creation. And it s not only the Holy
Spirit who is with everyone but the Father as well. In John 14:23 we hear, Jesus answered, Whoever
loves me will keep my word. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home
with them. (CEB, emphasis added). This opportunity for Trinitarian indwelling is the reason Jesus told
his disciples it would be to their advantage for him to go away. (John 16:7). (Morrison, 2007).
REGENERATIVE WORK The Holy Spirit gives life. It was he who breathed life into God s creation
and the beginning of time. He raised Jesus from the dead. He brings humanity regeneration by causing
the hearts of man to have faith in Jesus. (Lecture 3). There are Biblical reference to this changed heart
in Matthew 19:8, John 3:3, 5 7 and Titus 3:5. Regeneration is new birth. It is the Holy Spirit s working
within a person to change their sinful heart so that they can respond to God. (Bird, 2013).
Regeneration/new birth through the Holy Spirit is referenced in Genesis 2:7 and John 20:22. In both
verses, the spirit that is inhaled is not completely exhaled but rather remains in the body to give new
life to the recipient. (Weissenrieder, 2014, p. 60). Perhaps Jesus breathing on the disciples is the
answer to Nicodemus question as to how one can be born again after growing old! (Weissenrieder,
2014). The regeneration a person receives from the Holy Spirit is a new birth.

Curriculum Assignment
Good afternoon. I am writing to you regarding a concern I have within the current curriculum that is
being taught in the University Studies/ University 1010 class. I am currently enrolled as a traditional
student with prescribed courses, therefore I must take the University 1010 class. Once I was enrolled

suggestions I have thought and considered.

Comparing The Roles of Women In Real Life and Fairy Tales
How different are the roles of women in real life and in fairy tales? Women have very different roles
in fairy tales than they do in real life. In fairy tales, women can t choose who they marry and they can
t own their own land. In real life women have the choice to own land and marry who they choose. In
some of the fairy tales the role of the women would clean the house and make meals.
In the fairy tale Cinderella, there are two different personalities of women. One is beautiful, kind,

Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome ( Ards )
According to the American Lung Association, Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is a
rapidly progressive disease occurring in critically ill patients. ARDS is an extreme manifestation of a
lung injury that can be associated with an acute medical problem. This occurs as a result of direct or
indirect trauma to the lungs. With nearly 200,000 cases in the United States each year, ARDS is not
extremely common ( Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome ). Most people who acquire this disease
are critically ill patients within the hospital. The most common predisposing medical problems of
ARDS consist of: shock, trauma, pulmonary infections, sepsis, aspiration, and cardiopulmonary
bypass (Ignatavicious, 2013). ARDS is a severe syndrome and even with prompt and aggressive
medical treatment, almost fifty percent of those diagnosed do not survive. Those who survive have a
longer hospital stay along with recurring hospital admissions throughout their lifetime ( Acute
Respiratory Distress Syndrome ). Acute respiratory distress syndrome is a rapidly progressive disease
which requires thorough assessment, rapid diagnosis, and emergency treatment measures in order to
successfully respond to the disease process.
ARDS is acute respiratory failure with persistent hypoxemia, decreased pulmonary compliance,
dyspnea, noncardiac associated pulmonary edema, and dense pulmonary infiltrates on the chest x ray.
The main site of injury within the lung is the alveolar capillary membrane

Doctors Explanation in Kate Chopin´s The Story of an Hour
In the story Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin, the main character Louise Mallard had a heart condition
that soon lead to something unimaginable. Her family just recently found out her husband has died
and they have to tell her calmly or else she would have a dangerous rapid heart beat. When she heard
the news of her husband, she became very depressed but then felt joy that overcame her that no reader
would have guessed. Then suddenly her husband walked through the door. When she saw him she
died immediately. A doctor came in and said that she died from joy. The doctor s explanation for Mrs.
Mallard s death was inaccurate due to her joy of being free after he died, her happiness after she
thought he died, and her sadness when she saw her husband walk in the door.
In the story Mrs. Mallard experienced a sudden joy after the news of her husband s death. She started
to realize and think of all of the benefits she will because her husband is gone. It was not a glace of
reflection, but rather indicated a suspension of intelligent thought (332). This quote describes that Mrs.
Mallard is becoming more joyful. She is starting to think differently about her husband and this
describes that her thoughts are changing. Mrs. Mallard also experienced physical joy and happiness
after receiving news of her husband s death. Now her bosom rose and fell tumultuously. She was
beginning to recognize this thing that was approaching to posses her, and she was striving to beat it

reflects on the English constitution specifically the crown. Paine also provide an insight to having a

Ultimately Thomas Paine criticized the English constitution to the fullest extent and how it is flawed
due to the power variations in government. In the previous paragraph, although Paine talked about the
flaws that come into play in a government that is run by a single ruler, he then talked about how
having a ruler may be inevitable and provides an example of how it may work. Though Paine doesn t
argue against having a ruler to the fullest extent due to the amount of oppressive that is seen through
having single rulers, he feels that there should be someone in charge but have equal power with other
parties, therefore that single person isn t in complete control. According to Paine, Let the assemblies
be annual, with a President only. The representation more equal. Their business wholly domestic, and
subject to the authority of a Continental Congress. This shows Paine s thinking on producing a
government with equality. In this example, there will be representation from all aspects and people, so
they can and will be part of the decision making as well as the President. Thomas Paine s theory on
creating a government with a higher power which is surrounded by equality can flourish due to the
elimination of oppression, tyranny, and abuse of power. Thomas Paine criticizes the idea of monarchy
and hereditary succession. Monarchy

Credit Card Information Security Codes
If you ve ever made an online purchase, you know that there s a security code on your credit card that
merchants need to authorize your purchase. If you ve never ordered anything online, you might not
know what the CVV code is. Whether you ve noticed it or used it, you might not understand why it s
important in keeping your card information secure.
Types of Codes
There are two types of CVV codes. One of the codes you won t see since it s embedded in your
magnetic strip. This is the CVV1 code that provides information to the machine when you swipe your
card at a store or restaurant. For a merchant to gain access to the CVV1 code, the card and the

The CVV2 code is printed on the card itself. It s not embossed like the credit card number.
Where is the CVV2 Located?
With a Visa, Discover or MasterCard, the numbers are three digits long. They are located on the back
of the card near the signature area. Sometimes, they are surrounded by a small box, so the customer
can clearly see the number that is required.
American Express credit cards security code or CVV2 are located on the front of the card. They are
located in the upper right corner of the credit card number itself.
How the CVV2 Code Protects You
While it s lessening, there s a lot of fear about the security of online transactions. With the CVV code,
the credit card companies are providing another layer of protection against fraudulent purchases.
When the online merchant asks for the expiration date of the card along with the CVV, they are trying
to ensure that you are the cardholder, and that the card is in your possession. The CVV number isn t
stored with your data when you make a purchase in a store. This makes it harder for thieves to capture

The Boston Massacre And The Boston Tea Party
Most people don t realize that it took alot to get America were it is now. But the main reason we are
not speaking british is because of the American revolution. There were quite a few events leading up
to the American revolution. But there are three main ones that really were what got the american
revolution under way. Those events were the townshend acts, the Boston massacre, and the Boston tea
party.
To start off, the townshend acts were a series of taxations which taxed lead, glass, paint, tea and other
goods. Colonist were very angry about all of these taxations. So they decide to boycott by not getting
the goods that were being taxed. Because of all of the boycotting the townshend acts were repealed all
except for tea. Because of tea not being repealed one of the most historical events in history would
happen but that will happen later on.
Next off, the boston massacre was one of the biggest factors leading up to the American revolution.
How the boston massacre happened was that soldiers were sent to boston to keep peace but the
constant presence of the soldiers always being there irritated the colonists very much. And to top it off
the soldiers were harassing women and children. The actual shooting at the boston massacre happened
because a soldier thought they heard fire which made them shoot. Because of that, other soldiers shoot

Personal Reflection Essay
As the first five weeks of Writing 39B have passed, I believe that I have made some improvements in
my writing as a result of the feedback from the professor, the multiple writing assignments, and
reading the Anteater s Guide to Writing and Rhetoric. Although I can still improve in all facets of my
writing, the progress I have made so far was very much needed. One of the stages of my development
took place in class. Although I was a bit reluctant and shy to participate at times in class, I learned a
lot. The way the professor analyzed the 9/11 conspiracy video and some of the chapters in the The
United States of Paranoia taught me how to see the author s purpose in creating the text and how the
author appealed to the audience by presenting the text in different mediums. The mini group work
done almost daily in class also helped me think more analytically about each text, which helped me
writing my final RA. One of the class works was analyzing the opening paragraph of The
Metamorphis by Franz Kafka. This task allowed me to see how the author s word choice can change
the complete tone of the text and how the audience reacts differently to each type of tone. At the times
in which I did participate, I felt that I contributed valuable information as the professor would usually
expand on my comment in a positive way. In addition, participating also allowed me to feel confident
about my ideas and thought process which enabled me to feel confident writing my assignments. From
the very first RIP assignment, the feedback I ve received helped in aiding my final RA. Prior to this
class, I didn t truly know how to be specific. Whether this be with a claim or audience, I was
describing things broadly. In my RIP #1, where I had to identify a specific group with a shared
interest. The group that I created was students in high school or college who are obsessed with social
media. With the feedback, I learned that I could ve made it more specific by choosing just high school
students not including college student and only Snapchat, and no other social media platforms.
Moving on, a drastic change in my writing can be seen in the differences between CR #1 and CR #2.
In CR #1, I explain that the author carries a casual yet

Did you know that thousands of families get separated each year because of deportation? In the story,
The Red Umbrella , and the article, A Band Aid for 800 Children , they have a similar theme that is
portrayed in the story. The theme, One might realize that at some point, family must stay in your heart,

These two authors use similar and different techniques to develop the text. The theme relates to both
texts because, in the story, it deals with how the children must leave the parents to go to the United

children lose a parent to deportation each year. The number, 100,000 American children, is a statistic.
The story and the article also have two different point of views. In the story, the point of view was
Lucy s, in first person point of view. The text, I walked toward the stairs numb, shows that it is Lucy s
point of view. In the article, it is Sandigo s point of view. The text, Every child is also a job, she says,
as her cell phone rings again, proves that the text is in Sandigo s point of view. Another technique that
The Red Umbrella uses only is a plot. Articles do not have a plot, but stories do. The excerpt starts
with Papa calling the children into the living room, That night, Papa called Frankie and me into the
living room. Then, it goes with a conversation with Lucy realizing that her parents were going to send

Essay on Ty Cobb
Ty Cobb
Although often overshadowed in baseball history by Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb is considered by many
sports enthusiasts to be the greatest player to ever play the game of baseball. Tyrus Raymond Cobb,
was born December 18, 1886 in Banks County in Narrows, Georgia. He quickly gained much
notoriety for his great skill in baseball and eventually earned a position with the Detroit Tigers at the
age of nineteen, after playing for several semi pro and Sally league teams. Cobb compiled twelve
batting titles, a .367 career average, and totaled 4191 hits (second all time) in a career that spanned
twenty two years (1905 1928). With these and other superb achievements, Ty was inducted as the first

Young Ty decided to defy his father s future plans for him and try his luck at becoming a professional
baseball player.
There really was no doubt that the unrefined boy could accomplish his dreams because he was such a
hard worker. Cobb had to call up his resolute father and convince him of leaving Georgia to try out for
a semi pro team in Anniston, Alabama.
With this approval and ultimatum for success from a man that Ty admired so greatly, he seemingly
needed no more motivation and determination to achieve his dream of playing in the major leagues.
But, Ty Cobb would receive much more cause to excel. Unfortunately, the motivation would stem
from the murder of his role model, W.H. Worsening the fact that Ty lost a great friend and role model
was that his mother was accused of committing the crime. As the story goes, rumors spread around
town about the infidelity of Amanda Cobb. W.H. devised a plan to spy on Amanda during one night
when he said he would be out of town on business. W.H. climbed on the roof of the house and through
an upper level window into Amanda s bedroom. Supposedly, it was there where Amanda shot Mr.
Cobb.
Nevertheless, Amanda was later acquited, but the loss of his father formed in Cobb a sense of urgency
and purpose to his life. After this tragic misfortune, Cobb began playing baseball with a hellbent
attitude. Cobb would not take no for an

Prayer In Schools
Prayer is an important aspect of religion. Many religions incorporate prayer as a form of worship.
Many people around the world worship by praying daily. People feel the need to worship through their
religion by the use of prayer every day. Prayer in public places such as schools should be allowed for a
variety of reasons. First off, school prayer is defined as a state sanctioned or mandatory prayer by
students in public schools (Phillips page 1). Based on this definition, it is logical that mandated prayer
in schools can be considered school prayer. In modern society, in the United States of America,
mandated prayer in schools is prohibited (Phillips page 1). Ever since 1962, school prayer is not
allowed (Phillips page 1). However, there are many beneficial advantages and reasons to why this
prohibition should be undone. The first reason that prayer should be allowed in schools is that prayer

In modern America, showing expression is encouraged. People express themselves in different ways
and it is accepted. In fact, students and people show expression through a variety of ways including

use prayer to express themselves and many students do it in unique ways. Schools allow students to
express themselves in many different ways including reciting poetry, memorizing a speech, and
playing a musical instrument (Lipka page 1). So, why can t students express themselves through
prayer? Also, prayer gives students additional opportunities to convey there religious beliefs. For
example, if a student uses prayer in a meaningful way, it can benefit other aspects of school (Lipka

The Invention Of Printing Press
In 1440, for too many people was the year of change in the global communication. It was during this
time in Mainz, Germany that a goldsmith s Johannes Gutenberg created one of the most important
machines during the modern period: the printing press. The printing press was inspired by earlier uses
found in China and Japan as early as the 7th century. In this time the way to print was using the
method of block printing, which was a piece of wood used to print a specific piece of text. ( Patterns

The problem can be more information in the page or element than can fit in the viewport. You have to
provide a method to access this information.
The solution for mobiles will be to display them to indicate the scrollable axes, and the relative
position within the scrollable area.
Whenever possible, you should make sure scrolling takes place on a single axis. This is why the whole
set of patterns based around vertical scroll exist. When the situation demands, such as for zooming in
to content which otherwise fits the area, you can also offer a secondary scroll axis. Keep the secondary

Various Biogeochemical Cycles In Our Biosphere Allow For
Various biogeochemical cycles in our biosphere allow for the sustainability of living organisms, with

Though Nitrospira like most other NOB have not yet been thoroughly studied or cultured, recent
studies especially by van Kessel and colleagues (2015) a month prior to the publication of this study
identified the existence of possible complete ammonia oxidizing organisms, coined the term
comammox organisms (van Kessel et al., 2015). The study presented in this paper illustrates the
discovery of the first cultured comammox organism Candidatus Nitrospira inopinata, from its
discovery in a microbial biofilm to its genomic analysis.
Experiment Daims and colleagues (2015) initiated the study in Aushiger, Russia in April 2011,
following the sampling of a microbial biofilm situated on a metal pipe constantly under the flow of hot
water, from a 1200 meter deep oil exploration well. Using the biofilm as an inoculum, it was
incubated at 46⁰ C in an ammonium containing mineral medium for the enrichment of moderately
thermophilic ammonia oxidizing microbes. Following several serial dilutions in a similar AOM
medium, the enrichment culture ENR4 was cultivated. The ENR4 culture was now scaled up to obtain
enough biomass for DNA extraction, and various other analyses including phase contrast microscopy,
electron microscopy, FISH, PCR and metagenomics. From the early examinations

Comprehensive Sex Education
A Ticket to Success:
Choosing the Right Form of Sexual Education
A seventeen year old girl wakes up in the night to comfort her baby. She lives a life of exhaustion, but
she still wakes up early to attend her minimum wage job. There is not a good chance of her attending
college, because she did not finish high school and must support herself and her child. This is due to
the fact that this seventeen year old had no knowledge of contraceptives or birth control, and she lost
her partner because she had not experienced the teachings of how to handle a mature, responsible
relationship. Residing in Texas, her school has taught her that sex is wrong, for abstinence is her only
option. As a result, this seventeen year old missed out on comprehensive ... Show more content on

However, many of our nation s current programs do not provide these two characteristics. The best
sexual education program is comprehensive sex education due to the knowledge presented. This raises
the question: What is comprehensive sex education and why is it the best? According to the Planned
Parenthood article Implementing Sex Education , comprehensive sex education provides information
on many topics. The curriculum includes knowledge on body image, contraception, safer sex, sexual
behaviors, relationships, sexual health, and sexual orientation. This program covers the taboo topics
that other curriculums do not. Moreover, comprehensive sex education teaches all ages how to care for
mature relationships. Phi Delta Kappan s journal, on the importance of factual comprehensive sex
education, declares ...sexual education would be far more meaningful and productive if it focused on
developing, maintaining, and ending romantic and sexual relationships with integrity and care
(Peterson, Weinstein, and Weissbourd). Teaching teenagers to have mature relationships can fix many
future problems. For instance, it could lower rates of divorce, mental health diseases, and bullying.
Planned Parenthood s article goes on to tell that comprehensive sex education programs are
scientifically correct and ethical. They are designed to be taught from kindergarten to 12th grade. The
goal of this program is to teach adolescents about how to communicate with one another. Although
comprehensive sex education mentions that abstinence is the safest way to avoid unintended
pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), it does not stress abstinence in its curriculum,
nor does the program teach that sex before marriage is evil and

Organization often looks the other way when making a decision regarding the process of their product.
A lot of money would be used for solving the social problems. Most of the time, there is limited
money for that. Technical also been used to solving problems. So, in order to avoid the limited of
resources, most of the organizations will possess the resources (such as money and expertise) needed
to tackle social problems.
Analysis:
My analysis is that is in order to solve these social problems, the environment will need to be cleaner.
Our organization would benefit by contributing to assist in correcting these issues. The company can
use ethical decision making to secure the organization environmental responsibility. Decisions that
would allow for government agencies to get involved with the organization. For instance if a company
is proactive and follows the United States Environmental Protection Agency‎guidelines for emissions
on dangerous pollutants and even goes an extra step to get involved in the community and address
those concerns that the public might have; they would be less likely to have the EPA investigate them
for environmental concerns.(Corporate social responsibility, 2009).
This would produce a good image of the company to their stakeholders or other companies, the
confidence of consumer s increases, and favor to buy the goods from the company. The profit of the

Criminal Justice Systems Paper
Criminal Justice System Paper The criminal justice system and the criminal justice process has shaped
the laws of this country into what they are today from the concerns of politicians and government
leaders as far back as the 1800s with crime control. Basically, the criminal justice system was
designed to ensure the safety of individuals whom are citizens of this country. Essentially, the criminal
justice system is the structural basis used to maintain social control (Education Decisions, 2010). The
criminal justice system has many components that work together to provide justice for criminals and
victims of crimes. This enables violators of the law to be prosecuted in a fair trial. The legal definition

An example of a felony committed would be an individual convicted of murder, rape, robbery, or
larceny. Misdemeanors are criminal offenses that are less serious than felonies and are generally
punishable by fines, jail terms of up to a year, or both. (West s Encyclopedia, 2010). An example of a
misdemeanor would be for an individual to be convicted of a traffic violation or jaywalking.
Infractions are the least serious of crimes. Infractions are not punishable by imprisonment. A person
charged with an infraction is not entitled to a trial by jury (California Penal Code, 2010). Instead,
infractions are punishable by monetary fines or restitution amounts. An example of an infraction
would be an individual given a speeding ticket or a ticket for running a red light. As one can see, the
criminal justice system and the laws set in place are about maintaining social order and control.
Components of the Criminal Justice System The criminal justice system consists of various
components of law enforcement agencies. Such law enforcement agencies include local police
departments, criminal courts, and correctional facilities. The duties of a local police department should
include enforcing the law, investigating crimes, apprehending offenders, serving and protecting
individuals, and maintaining public order. Identifying various functions that are done within the

new principles developed by its researchers. It is an area of computer science that focusses on creating
machines that can engage on behaviors of humans, solve the computational models for complex
problems. Here Neural Networks are a computational approach to AI, which is based on the great
collection of Neural Units, which models a Human brain as connected large number of neurons. These
neurons are connected to each other to process the information as of the human brain. Artificial neural

Nursing Management Theory Paper
According to Sieloff and Raph, nursing management theories are used to describe, explain, predict or
prescribe nursing acts. There are many ways to solve a nursing problem or issue, but nursing
management theories are specifically designed for issues nurses and nurse managers come across on a
daily basis. Hildebrandt and Persily s theory of community empowerment is a perfect example of how
nursing management could handle the challenges of relocating to a new unit. The theory of
community empowerment is a middle range theory and was originally designed to improve the health
of people in their communities, but could easily be adapted to accommodate a different situation. The
theory contains three essential aspects in its framework: involvement, lay workers, and reciprocal
health. This theory is designed to incorporate and empower everyone involved. By empowering the
community of nurses and sustaining employee engagement, patient and employee satisfaction would
remain the same, if not increase (6 Leadership strategies for navigating perpetual change in healthcare,

Freud s Theories Applied in Inception
In every great piece of art there is usually an inspiration of some sort that gave the artist influence on
their production. In contemporary society, we often see modern artists use influences from past
theories, ideas, designs, etc. Inception, the 2010 sci fi action film, is a movie about illegal spying by
entering the minds of certain individuals by sharing dreams. Dom Cobb and his partner, Arthur, use
this tactic to extract or plant desired information from or into their unconscious. Mr. Saito, an
exceedingly wealthy business owner, asks Cobb and Arthur to perform Inception (imbedding an idea
inside a person s mind without them recognizing) on his only remaining business competitor, Maurice
Fischer. Saito wants Cobb to implant the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second function of the dream, according to Freud, is to protect the dreamer s sleep from
disruptions in the sleep environment. It is obvious to see this attribute operating in the movie
Inception. While Cobb and his team go into the mind of another individual during a dream, they often
do it on comfortable chairs, beds, or recliners. It is one team member s job to make sure that the
dreamers are not woken up by anything, or in contradiction, they wake the dreamer up if the dream is
not going as planned. The team member awakens them by measures of a kick, or a means of falling.
When you dream and you get a feeling that you are falling, it often wakes you up in a jolt. Inception
shows various scenes where the team member staying back is trying extremely hard to protect the
dreamer s from awakening in their unconscious state. Freud strategized that the personality was
composed of three elements; the id, ego, and superego. The id is the component of personality that is
present from birth, and is exclusively unconscious. According to Freud, the id is the source of all
psychic energy, making it the primary component of personality (Cherry,1). On the other hand, the ego
is the element of the personality that is responsible with reality. According to Freud, the ego develops
from the id and ensures that the impulses of the id can be expressed in a manner acceptable in the real
world (Cherry, 1). It

The Achievements Of The Nobel Peace Prize
Winning the Nobel Peace Prize is an amazing feat and accomplishments that very few people receive.
Only two US presidents, Theodore Roosevelt, and Barack Obama have received the award. Roosevelt
was the first ever American to win this award. His life story and eventful experiences help shape him
as the person we recognize as an impactful person in history.
Theodore Roosevelt was born on October 27th of 1858 into a Dutch family living in New York. As a
child, he struggled with his asthma. Many of his family members called him Teddy , a name he wasn t
found of. However, that name latched on until people used his nickname to make a toy many of us are
familiar with, a Teddy Bear. His father, Theodore Roosevelt Sr., knew he was very intelligent but
thought he did not have the body to match. He told him to make his body by exercising, so young
Theodore did and became stronger. This led him to gain an interest in wrestling and weightlifting.
When Theodore became a teenager he also became interested in gymnastics and continued to enjoy
sports into his college years and beyond. Roosevelt went to Harvard College and spent 4 years there.
At Harvard, he studied natural science as his major at first, however when his father died he switched
his major to law. He excelled in sports and education and found a good balance between the two.
Roosevelt had an interesting and influential family that helped him be the person we know starting
with his first child. On February 12, 1884,

Attending an Egyptian Tea Party
Immersing myself in someone else s culture might be my favorite thing. I find it fascinating that
people around the world have so many different ways to interact with each other. The way they speak,
greet, think, eat, behave and generally live varies vastly depending on the region they reside, and the
culture they embody. That being said, when one of my mom s Egyptian friends invited us for tea at her
place I was more than excited to attend, mainly to get an inside look on a little bit of Egyptian culture.
The tea party was scheduled to begin at 7, but naturally my mom and I were half an hour late. The
funny thing is, despite our tardiness we were some of the first people there. This was one of the first
things I realized was a big difference: while Americans are monochromic, Egyptians definitely belong
to the polychromic category. It wasn t until around 8 that everyone else showed up, and the hosts were
perfectly fine with and expected people to be late. When we arrived the host greeted us with hugs and
lots of kisses. Egyptian greetings are a lot longer than what most people are accustomed to. There is
this constant unprofessed confusion in the Arab world on whether you kiss two or three times when
greeting someone, and I can testify that Egyptians kiss about four times. They also ask a lot of
questions while greeting. How have you been? What are you up to? How s school? How s your
family? I haven t seen you in so long! I hope you re doing well. To which you have the

Comparing A Raisin In The Sun And Death Of A Salesman
What happens to a dream deferred? Is a question from Langston Hughes, A Dream Deferred asks one
what happens to a forgotten dream. This idea connects two well known American plays, A Raisin in
the Sun, by Lorraine Hansberry and Death of a Salesman, by Arthur Miller, in the sense that each
character has a dream deferred. A dream deferred is a forgotten dream or one that has been left behind.
The two father figures, Walter and Willy, share many comparisons such as having a big dream
reaching for success in business, leaving them behind, and their reactions. Walter Younger and Willy
Loman both have big dreams to pursue big careers in business. In A Raisin in the Sun, Walter says You

Walter has just found out here that the money he gave to Willy for the liquor store was stolen by Willy,
his other business partner. The money was supposed to be deposited into a savings account for
Beneatha s school, and the rest was expected to be saved for the future. This contributes to the idea of
a dream deferred because this is where Walter finds out it is over for him. He no longer has the ability
to invest money in the business because the money is gone. This is where Walter learns his dream is
dead. Similarly, in Death of a Salesman, Howard Wagner, Willy s boss, tells Willy, I don t want you to
represent us. I ve been meaning to tell you for a long time now. In this scene, Willy is fired from his
job as a salesman because Howard believes he is too old and tired. This contributes to the bigger
picture of Willy no longer being able to pursue the dream of being a salesman. Like Walter, Willy s
dream is taken away from him and has no option but to leave it

The National Basketball Association (NBA) is currently struggling with a widespread epidemic
known as tanking. Tanking, for the sake of this paper, is a, team s intent to do less than everything it
can to win. Teams are motivated to tank because of a system known as the NBA Draft lottery, which
assigns the worst NBA teams with the best odds of winning one of the three top picks in the NBA
Draft (where teams are able to select from a talent pool of amateur or previously unassociated

Whether through occupational licenses, non compete clauses, or land use restrictions, rent seeking has
been associated with causing higher income inequality and negatively interfering with the operation of
free market economies . An example of the negative effects of of rent seeking can be found in
occupational licenses. While occupational licenses were noted for increasing income by 15% over the
free market value of an occupation, they are also charged with inhibiting entrepreneurship (especially
among low income workers), raising prices, and lowering productivity . In fact, a 2011 study even
indicated that the existence of occupational licenses may be responsible for removing as many 2.85
million jobs from the US economy .
Given that rent seeking has been blamed for income inequality, job loss, and lower economic
productivity, it is no surprise that there have been a variety of academic works on the subject. One
such work is an article by Michael Munger entitled Rent Seek and You Will Find. In the article,
Munger describes his involvement in the bidding process for HUD grants while working in Charlotte.
In this case, the HUD grants represent the rent, as the grants are a capital infusion that the winning city
would receive from the government, rather than income generated from free market actions that drive
more business or sustainable tax income to the city. Munger

Relationship Between Insulin And Leptin
Plasma leptin concentration has been increased due to high tail fat diet. Leptin is secreted by
adipocytes that is implicated in nutrition and cognition (Morrison 2009). Hyperleptinemia is induced
by obesity and aging which is associated with dysregulation in leptin signaling; moreover, leptin
signaling is affected by diet manipulation. Low affinity leptin to its receptor (Ob Rb) and inability of
upregulation Ob Rb proportional to leptin concentration was developed by high fat diet (Mitchell et al.
2009). Also high fat diet decreased leptin receptors in cerebellum (Koros et al. 2009). Insulin and
leptin are signally interrelated as insulin resistance frequently associated with leptin resistance in high
fat diet ingestion and obesity. There is a positive relationship between insulin and leptin concentration
and oxidative stress (MDA concentration) in plasma of overweight and obese persons (Shaimaa Essa
et al. 2016). Brain oxidative stress progress insulin and leptin resistance in endogenously generated
oxidative stress model (Yagishita et al. 2017). NO is a downstream signal of leptin and leptin
inhibiting nitric oxide synthase activity (Calapai et al. 1999; Mehebik Mojaat et al. 2009).

Civil Law And Common Law System
VIII lawyer in civil law and common law system
B lawyers in civil law systems
When students graduate from law school, if they want to get a license from law firm to practice law,
they have some conditions, but it is different from the common law system. Lawyers still represent the
interests of their clients in civil proceedings, but have a little central role, if we compare the common
law systems, however, their functions commonly contain advising clients on points of law and
preparing legal pleadings for filing with the court, but the importance of oral argument, in court
presentations and active lawyer in court are minimized when compared to a common law system.
Moreover, non litigation legal tasks, such as will preparation and contract drafting, may be left to
quasi legal professionals who serve businesses and private individuals, and who may not have a post
university legal education or be licensed to practice before courts. If the law student want to become
lawyer in civil law system is different from one country to another country. For example, in Iraq law
school students can become a lawyer after graduation from law school, but they have to participate in
training to get a license, they do not need to take any exam, but in some country that they have civil

Analysis Of Vega V. Sports Bar Grill

An employer is liable for the actions of his employee unless they fall outside the scope of

The employee filmed Underwood within the scope of his employment, but posting was outside the
scope. The plaintiff alleges invasion of privacy and damage to reputation, but the harms of both claims
come from the act of sharing the video with others. Had the employee not shared the video, the
plaintiff probably would have no case for damage to her reputation as the events would have stayed
between the two parties. Instead, he posted the video. Posting, rather than filming, caused the plaintiff
harm.
It is clear the employee acted within the scope while filming. As a service worker who often closes the
store, an employee should have experience with difficult customers late at night. As such, the situation
fell within the normal course of his duties. The worker s main goal was not a personal motive, but to
close the store. He thought filming the plaintiff would incentive her to leave.
Posting falls outside the scope of employment for a few reasons. First, he posted the video to his
personal account for the purposes of entertaining online viewers. He also knew that Vega did not
approve of him being on YouTube during work hours, but did so anyway. Finally, Vega noted
embarrassing customers did not benefit the business, but might ease personal annoyances to the
worker, meaning the video helped the posting employee to the detriment his employer.
There are a couple of counterarguments to this interpretation. First, using Daugherty, one might

The Benefits Of Computer Technology In Healthcare
Over the years, computer technology and the internet has made a drastic change around the world for
healthcare industry. The healthcare industry is continuing to give positive changes for patients and
employees thanks to computer technology. It has made it easier and more productive for patients and
employees. Now patients can feel more at ease during their doctor s visit because of the benefits of
technology.
In the first place, computer technology have made it more efficient for physicians. Now physicians
can work up patients faster, thanks to the computer programs that is provided for them. In order to aid
clinical decision making, it is important that data is collected and presented to the doctor as quickly as
possible; electronic systems are therefore advantageous in performing these tasks. (Tettegah 7) The
software applications that the hospital provides help physicians put in the orders so their patients can
get faster treatment. For example, the physician can order their patient to get an x ray when they are in
leg pain. Once the x ray is ordered the technician does the x ray and the physician can look at the
results in their computer so they can properly diagnosis and give them the proper treatment. The
programs can also help keep a log of patients previous visits so they can know the proper medication
to give to patients. The number one benefit cited by the developers is the patient focused benefit of

1). Obama s failure to deliver on his promises caused a handful, about 1 in 5, of his previous
supporters to put their trust in Romney instead of him, and this newfound trust in his opponent planted
the seed of doubt in the public s mind about the President s abilities to deliver on his previous claims
that he had made to get elected (What if Mitt Romney had Won?). However, Romney has also been a
positive attribute in Obama s presidency. Obamacare was closely modeled, ironically, after Mitt
Romney s healthcare plan that he enacted whilst Governor of Massachusetts (The Choice 2012). Even
as an opponent, Romney helped to benefit Obama s terms as President, in ways that he may not have

The Effects of Physical and Verbal Abuse on Children
One of the rising issues among children in our society today is the verbal and physical abuse they are
receiving from their parents and guardians. This is creating unhealthy families and dysfunctional
environments where children are the victims of these abusive homes. Another cause of concern is the
psychological and emotional detachment abusive children have to endure.
These affects occur when they have a history of being neglected or physically abused. A
UNICEF on child wellbeing reported that the United States and the United Kingdom are ranked
lowest among industrial nations with respect to child well being. They also found that it s more
common for child abuse to occur in single parent families than in families where ... Show more

Which keeps them from ever achieving their intellectual potential. Another psychological concern is
the physical stress. If the child is continually exposed to multiple violent and trauma acts, they will be
physically stressed out. When the child experiences this act over and over again, there are permanent
psychological changes. A child having over reactions to things that remind them of the original event
can create difficulty in concentration and attention. There are emotional effects such as isolation and
inability to trust other peers. This essentially can translate into low self esteem and depression. In one
long term study, as many as 80 percent of young adults who had been abused met the diagnostic
criteria for at least one psychiatric disorder at age 21. These young adults exhibited many problems,
including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and suicide attempts ( Silverman, Reinherz Giaconia,
1996). NSCAW found that children who were placed out of home care due to abuse or neglect were
scored lower on measures of cognitive capacity, language development, and academic achievement. In
other words, they experienced difficulties with their academics being neglected or abused by parents
or relatives. Other factors related to child abuse is shyness. More abused children will tend to shy
away from meeting new people. This creates antisocial traits as they grow up. Raised under these
conditions leads

Research Paper On Hildegard Von Bingen
Kyrsten Oliva
Enriched Accomplishments
Today on the top of poetry s best seller lists, and classical music s top ten list lies Hildegard von
Bingen. Although she lived 900 years her works are considered to be masterpieces even today. She
was the last of 10 children and was born near Mainz in Germany in 1098. Hildegard von Bingen was a
mystic woman that stood out from the rest, during her infant years she had said that God had come to
her, but she was too young to express it. By eight years old she took on the spiritual life, and by fifteen
she became a nun and vocalized her experiences and visions to others. In doing so, Hildegard von
Bingen removed herself from marriage, motherhood, and traditional medieval women s work.

Spinach 7ab Experiment
7ab.Results (Joey)
We had three sets of ten spinach chads that were submerged in CO2 water and put under different
wattages of light: forty, seventy five, and one hundred . Chads under the forty wattage only had six
rise out of ten, chads under the seventy five wattage light had all ten rise, and chads under the one
hundred wattage light had all ten rise under ten minutes.
8a. Conclusion (Kendall) In conclusion, our hypothesis is supported. Our hypothesis is supported
because we predicted the 100 watt bulb will make the chads arise faster than the 40 watt and 75 watt
bulb will. Our hypothesis was correct. Data on the chart of the number of chads that floated within
each minute, shows that within the sixth minute, all of the chads were ... Show more content on

In the first method it says we need a leaf, boiling water, alcohol, iodine, a beaker, and a heat source.
First we put the leaf in the boiling water to soften the cell walls, next we put the leaf in a test tube and
cover it with alcohol and place the test tube back in the boiling water, this removes the chlorophyll s
pigmentation, then we place the leaf on a petri dish and cover it in iodine. For the second method we
feed the plant with radioactive carbon dioxide, The radioactive carbon atoms have become part of the
structure of the plant. This shows that the plant absorbed the radioactive carbon.

Photosynthesis is plants taking in water, carbon dioxide, and light to produce sugar and oxygen. It is
required for the air I breath to contain 19.5 percent of oxygen concentration. It is vital to my health to
have the proper amount of oxygen for survival. For example, if the percentage of oxygen in the air
drops to 16 percent and I were to engage in physical activity it will cause my cells to fail receiving
oxygen. This will lead to my cells not functioning properly. Mental functions may also be impaired

The Code Of Computer Related Jobs
In today s world computers play a crucial role in everyday life. Many different types of jobs are
offered with computers. One essential branch of computer related jobs is Software Development.
Software developers program and write the code of software used on computers. Without software
developers computers would have very little use and very few features. While researching Software
Development I took many steps to increase my understanding of the career. I started my career
research by searching for general information about the career. This research was performed during
class in the computer lab. I found that on average Software Developers make $43,640 $101,410
annually. I then searched for information about the education and training that is beneficial to
someone in this career. I found that a major in computer science or related subject would be the
standard major for a Software Developer. I also found that math classes such as Calculus are
beneficial to understanding software development. I then researched useful skills and traits of
Software Developers. Some useful traits are creativity, problem solving, and a basic understanding of
digital media. These traits contribute to the success of a developer. I found this research gathered to be
helpful in my further understanding of the career. At home I researched more information about the
career. I found that the most job opportunities are offered in California and surrounding areas, but

Definition of Air Pollution
1. Definition of air pollution
Air pollution is the introduction of chemicals, particulate matter, or biological materials that cause
harm or discomfort to humans or other living organisms, or cause damage to the natural environment
or built environment, into the atmosphere.
The atmosphere is a complex dynamic natural gaseous system that is essential to support life on planet
Earth. Stratospheric ozone depletion due to air pollution has long been recognized as a threat to human
health as well as to the Earth s ecosystems.
Indoor air pollution and urban air quality are listed as two of the world s worst pollution problems in
the 2008 Blacksmith Institute World s Worst Polluted Places report.[1]

Within the NMVOCs, the aromatic compounds benzene, toluene and xylene are suspected carcinogens
and may lead to leukemia through prolonged exposure. 1,3 butadiene is another dangerous compound
which is often associated with industrial uses. * Particulate matter Particulates, alternatively referred
to as particulate matter (PM) or fine particles, are tiny particles of solid or liquid suspended in a gas.
In contrast, aerosol refers to particles and the gas together. Sources of particulate matter can be man
made or natural. Some particulates occur naturally, originating from volcanoes, dust storms, forest and
grassland fires, living vegetation, and sea spray. Human activities, such as the burning of fossil fuels
in vehicles, power plants and various industrial processes also generate significant amounts of
aerosols. Averaged over the globe, anthropogenic aerosols those made by human activities currently
account for about 10 percent of the total amount of aerosols in our atmosphere. Increased levels of
fine particles in the air are linked to health hazards such as heart disease,[3] altered lung function and
lung cancer. * Persistent free radicals connected to airborne fine particles could cause
cardiopulmonary disease.[4][5] * Toxic metals, such as lead, cadmium and copper. *
Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) harmful to the ozone layer emitted from products currently banned from
use. * Ammonia (NH3) emitted from agricultural processes. Ammonia is a compound

Reflection Of Katrina And Federalism
Katrina and Federalism Reflection Essay
Before watching the video titled Federalism: Lessons of Katrina, I expected it to be about how the
government responded to hurricane Katrina. Not only was my assumption correct, I gained a better
understanding of federalism by observing how the local, state, and national levels of government
responded to one of the worst crises in American history. From my observation, it seemed that the
government on all levels failed to prepare, and then aid, the victims of the disaster. I think this failure
was caused by the lack of communication between the different levels of government and could have
been prevented had the governments worked together. In addition, I think the government s failure to
respond effectively ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During Katrina there were many times that the local, state, and federal governments did not cooperate
effectively. For example, the governor of Louisiana, Kathleen Blanco, addressed the issue her state
faced and asked for everything the federal government had, as in disaster relief and aid, but the
ambiguity of the statement caused the federal government to withhold resources until the governor
addressed more specific needs. Issues such as these prevent the different levels of government from
cooperating in an effective manner and demonstrate one of the most significant problems with
federalism. Another example of how the different levels of government fail to cooperate effectively is
a statement by William Lokey from the federal government s disaster relief agency, FEMA. During an
interview with the press, Lokey tells the governor and the entire nation that certain areas of Louisiana
s coasts are safe and that flood waters are receding. The statement made by Lokey misinformed the
public and other levels of government, causing more confusion and hindering relief

The Rule Of The Franciscan Order
The Rule of the Franciscan Order
Francis of Assisi is an icon of poverty and reform in the Catholic Church, because his lifestyle
encouraged the Church and especially the hierarchy of his time to change almost entirely. He can be
perceived as a prophet of his time who revolutionized from his very being a drastic change, because
with his life as an example he went from words to actions. Francis was born into a wealthy family in
Assisi; he had everything a boy of his time could ask for. Francis experienced some time alone in a
prison cell, it was after that time that he begins to feel dissatisfaction with kind of life he was living
and began to grow a spiritual maturation.
Francis received a revelation about his mission and found that the key to his life was his
uncompromising attempt to imitate Christ through absolute poverty, humility and simplicity.
Medieval Sourcebook: The Rule of the Franciscan Order is a source found at Fordham University
online sourcebooks. The source has as the main focus The Rule of the Franciscan Order . It gives
details in regards to the history of the founding of the order and what was the major contribution of St.
Francis in establishing the order of the lesser brothers . St. Francis was the lead figure which made
him a venerable personality in the Middle Ages. The Franciscan order was founded by St. Francis of
Assisi. Although there were other movements created at the time, almost unwittingly Francis became
the leader of this Christian

A Brief Note On Track Cellphone Usage And Moral Agents
Case 1: Developing Apps to Track Cellphone Usage
Moral Agents The moral agents in this situation are the children, the parents and the application
developer. The children have a few possible choices that their allowed to make regarding this situation
where their privacy is invaded. They could research and look into using applications that will hide
their location, their data and other important information the parents might want to know about their
kid. Or the children can choose the less moral route of completely removing the application from their
device or blocking it. The parents are faced with a tough ethical decision of whether or not to monitor
their kids. Because if the parents monitor their kids, then the safety of the kids will ... Show more

This would causes a chain reaction, since the company would get a lot of bad reputation then the
current developers would abandon ship and look for greener pastures since most of the public is
pointed at the company and not at the individual developers. Another point to consider is the privacy
of the children. Not only do the parents have the ability to monitor their kids, but if someone were to
hack into the parent s device then they too could monitor the children. This also applies to the
company, if they lack the ability to keep their clients safe, then hundreds to millions of children s
locations would be vulnerable to potential child molesters, kidnappers, etcetera.
Who/What are the stakeholders? The most obvious stakeholder is the company that develops the
application. This company has to balance financial longevity with maintaining a moral and legal
standing in society. Any software company s primary goal is to make money, however, by creating a
controversial piece of software, this company is risking potential loss of revenue in order to be on the
leading edge of new trends. If there is any sort of backlash over the morality of a monitoring
application, the company can be forever tarnished by their ventures and lose current and possible
customers in droves. Not only is the company putting their profits at risk, they are also putting their
most precious investments at risk, their

Clay Fighter Essay
Clay comes to life in Clay Fighter: Sculptor s Cut for the Nintendo 64. This title was originally
exclusive to the Blockbuster chain of video rental stores. Because of this, it is one of the rarest
Nintendo 64 games. In the game s story, the evil Dr. Kiln is experimenting with clay based life forms.
His ultimate goal is to create an army of soldiers to take over the world. However, when his plans go
awry, it is every combatant for themselves. Clay Fighter: Sculptor s Cut was developed and published
by Interplay Entertainment for the N64. It was released in 1998, one year after the original Nintendo
64 game.
Clay Fighter: Sculptor s Cut is a one on one fighting game. Two players will square off in an area, and
only one will be left standing. Players can punch, kick, and throw their opponent. Each hit takes off a
portion of your opponent s life bar. Once you deplete your opponent s life bar, you will win the round.
Despite its comical appearance, Clay Fighter: Sculptor s Cut has an array of in depth gameplay
mechanics. You can parry the attacks from your opponent. You can chain together moves to create
combos, which deal more damage to your opponent. A super meter will let you pull off devastating
attacks that will fill the screen. Each character has an array of special moves that are ... Show more

characters received all new moves while others had their moves slightly tweaked. Some stories got

Cattle Drive Patterns
Cattle Drives The west was rough, untamed, was denied stateship, because of the rowdy people, and
towns. The cattle drives, and cowboys shaped the west, the cowtowns, and the people. After the Civil
War, there was as shortage of food, mainly beef, so the people of the west, and the ranchers were
depended upon for the food, beef. With no, or few railroads, the cowboys were forced to drive the
cattle long distances. The cow towns were practically made by the cowboys and the need for beef.
They were called boom towns. Boom towns were towns with a few houses, and a general store. With
cowboys coming through, the towns boomed, with give or take 27 saloons, 8 gambling halls, and a
boot hill were normally added. The towns closest to Texas had bigger, and better attractions. They
were the main stops for the cattle, for selling, and then moved down the state s. Over time people
realized that the cattle weren t always the reason for the stops, sometimes the women were. The
Chisholm trail was the route most taken, according to the price of beef in the towns along the way.

the cow towns, or boom towns, now had a police force. A marshal was hired for the jobs, to keep the
peace, and stop those who didn t, often putting their own lives in danger. This is where the big and

U.s. Involvement During The Korean War
US Involvement In the Korean War President Truman s desire to stop communism in the Korean
Peninsula resulted in the decision to join the Korean War. The catalyst for the United States
involvement in the Korean War is mostly due to the fear of the spread of communism, which was
caused by North Korea s encroachment and intimidation of South Korea, as well as the desire to
silence the Soviet Union. Other factors attributed to US involvement such as the Truman Doctrine, the
Domino Theory, and McCarthyism. The United States has a profound fear of communism and
honestly I think most, if not all, countries do as well. Communism according to Wikipedia, is a social,
political, and economic ideology and movement whose ultimate goal is the establishment of the
communist society, which is a socioeconomic order structured upon the common ownership of the
means of production and the absence of social classes, money, and the state. In plain terms, it is a form
of government in which no one owns anything, it all belongs to the state and everyone is equal no one
is above anyone else.
Now to some people that must give a euphoric feeling to have everyone equal. Well, the one deadly
factor that leads to disasters, anarchy, and deaths is us. The humans. Humans cannot live with
everyone being equal. We still have the biological need to make things ours and communism disables
the luxury of having private property and owning things in Kaminsky 2 general. Communism itself isn

  • 2. Simon Says Research Paper Simon Says is a game that helps in the development of a child s performance skills during middle childhood. It is a great way to help them exercise their listening skills and self control. The game helps to develop the child s motor, processing, and social skills. In this paper, I will discuss how to play Simon Says and briefly discuss how the game helps contribute to a child s performance skills motor, processing, and social. Simon Says is played with three or more players. To play, one person takes the role of Simon and starts off by saying, Simon says, [insert action command here] . Everyone must then perform the action Simon says to do. If Simon makes an action command without saying, Simon says first, anyone who performs that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, if Simon says to stand on one foot, it helps the child stabilize. If Simon says to lift one arm up, it helps them practice their reach. If Simon says to touch your toes, the child bends down. Many different motor skills can be exercised during this game, it all depends on what Simon says to do. Simon Says is also helps children to exercise their processing skills. In playing the game, it helps the child to practice either giving or following directions. Sequencing is practiced as Simon says to jump first, and then pat your head. The child notices and responds to Simon s action requests and other friends playing the game, which in turn teaches them self control. They learn to be patient, listen, and follow directions. Lastly, Simon Says helps the child exercise their social skills. In order to participate in the game, they must approach others and interact with them. This helps them express emotion and gesticulate during the game from the excitement of who performs an action correctly, and who does not. They respond to Simon s requests by carefully listening to Simon and acknowledging what he says to do, which in turn teaches the child to listen and follow directions. They learn to take turns being Simon which contributes to learning how to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Essay Dead Sea Scrolls Dead Sea Scrolls The Dead Sea Scrolls are a group of 800 900 manuscripts found in caves at Qumran east of Jerusalem and north west of the Dead Sea. The first scrolls were discovered in 1947 by a shepherd boy who wandered into a cave after a stray goat. The texts are believed to have been hidden in eleven caves for safe keeping prior to the destruction of Rome in A.D.70. The scrolls are a collection of biblical and non biblical documents comprising of the Hebrew Bible, (every book except Esther); the Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha; rules for community life; biblical commentaries; a Testimonia, (a collection of verses from the Bible about the Messiah); a War Scroll; Temple Scroll; poetic and liturgical pieces; Thanksgiving Hymns; wisdom ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This discovery shows the extraordinary accuracy between the two sets of manuscripts. The texts are believed to have been written by a strict Jewish sect called the Essenes. This religious community led by one they called the Teacher of Righteousness lived a demanding routine of self discipline. Their interpretation of the law was severe, they held fellowship meals to which admission was closely guarded. They interpreted prophetic scripture as referring to events of their own day and believed that they had an important part to play in the hope of Israel. 2 HOW MUCH CAN THEY HELP US UNDERSTAND THE NEW TESTAMENT? The dead sea scrolls offer unique information from a time during the second temple period when Jewish religious and political life in Palestine was full of corruption and conflict. There were three main Jewish groups during this time; the Pharisees, the Sadducees and the Essenes. It has also been confirmed that there were many other groups and movements in Secondary Temple Judaism. It is now evident that Judaism in the land of Israel was open to Greek influences from the 3rd century onwards in the areas of language, economics, military strategy, politics, culture and religion .3 The scrolls shed light on the time when Jesus and John the Baptist lived and the beliefs of the early Christians. We are given information on the way things were at that time; the laws of the day, things that Jesus and the apostles had trouble ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Christ And The Holy Spirit. Introduction. This Week We CHRIST AND THE HOLY SPIRIT INTRODUCTION This week we studied Pneumatology, the doctrine of the Holy Spirit. It was an opportunity to learn about this unsung hero of the Trinity who, though ever present with us, we seldom mention or think of and often do not give the respect he merits. In this paper, we will address the relationship between the Holy Spirit and Jesus resurrection and ascension and how the Holy Spirit is involved in those events. We will also examine the Holy Spirit s work of regeneration and its impact on believers in the church. SUMMARY When Jesus ascended into heaven, he sent the Holy Spirit to the church. (Lecture 3). He was returning to the Father, and he left the Holy Spirit here to help all humanity. While Jesus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through the Holy Spirit, Jesus remains the shepherd king for all creation. And it s not only the Holy Spirit who is with everyone but the Father as well. In John 14:23 we hear, Jesus answered, Whoever loves me will keep my word. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. (CEB, emphasis added). This opportunity for Trinitarian indwelling is the reason Jesus told his disciples it would be to their advantage for him to go away. (John 16:7). (Morrison, 2007). REGENERATIVE WORK The Holy Spirit gives life. It was he who breathed life into God s creation and the beginning of time. He raised Jesus from the dead. He brings humanity regeneration by causing the hearts of man to have faith in Jesus. (Lecture 3). There are Biblical reference to this changed heart in Matthew 19:8, John 3:3, 5 7 and Titus 3:5. Regeneration is new birth. It is the Holy Spirit s working within a person to change their sinful heart so that they can respond to God. (Bird, 2013). Regeneration/new birth through the Holy Spirit is referenced in Genesis 2:7 and John 20:22. In both verses, the spirit that is inhaled is not completely exhaled but rather remains in the body to give new life to the recipient. (Weissenrieder, 2014, p. 60). Perhaps Jesus breathing on the disciples is the answer to Nicodemus question as to how one can be born again after growing old! (Weissenrieder, 2014). The regeneration a person receives from the Holy Spirit is a new birth. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Doctors Explanation in Kate Chopin´s The Story of an Hour In the story Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin, the main character Louise Mallard had a heart condition that soon lead to something unimaginable. When she heard the news of her husband, she became very depressed but then felt joy that overcame her that no reader would have guessed. Then suddenly her husband walked through the door. When she saw him she died immediately. A doctor came in and said that she died from joy. The doctor s explanation for Mrs. Mallard s death was inaccurate due to her joy of being free after he died, her happiness after she thought he died, and her sadness when she saw her husband walk in the door. In the story Mrs. Mallard experienced a sudden joy after the news of her husband s death. She started to realize and think of all of the benefits she will because her husband is gone. It was not a glace of reflection, but rather indicated a suspension of intelligent thought (332). This quote describes that Mrs. Mallard is becoming more joyful. She is starting to think differently about her husband and this describes that her thoughts are changing. Ultimately Thomas Paine criticized the English constitution to the fullest extent and how it is flawed due to the power variations in government. In the previous paragraph, although Paine talked about the flaws that come into play in a government that is run by a single ruler, he then talked about how having a ruler may be inevitable and provides an example of how it may work. Though Paine doesn t argue against having a ruler to the fullest extent due to the amount of oppressive that is seen through having single rulers, he feels that there should be someone in charge but have equal power with other parties, therefore that single person isn t in complete control. According to Paine, Let the assemblies be annual, with a President only. The representation more equal. Their business wholly domestic, and subject to the authority of a Continental Congress. This shows Paine s thinking on producing a government with equality. In this example, there will be representation from all aspects and people, so they can and will be part of the decision making as well as the President. But the main reason we are not speaking british is because of the American revolution. There were quite a few events leading up to the American revolution. But there are three main ones that really were what got the american revolution under way. Those events were the townshend acts, the Boston massacre, and the Boston tea party. To start off, the townshend acts were a series of taxations which taxed lead, glass, paint, tea and other goods. Colonist were very angry about all of these taxations. So they decide to boycott by not getting the goods that were being taxed. Because of all of the boycotting the townshend acts were repealed all except for tea. • 13. Personal Reflection Essay As the first five weeks of Writing 39B have passed, I believe that I have made some improvements in my writing as a result of the feedback from the professor, the multiple writing assignments, and reading the Anteater s Guide to Writing and Rhetoric. Although I can still improve in all facets of my writing, the progress I have made so far was very much needed. One of the stages of my development took place in class. Although I was a bit reluctant and shy to participate at times in class, I learned a lot. The way the professor analyzed the 9/11 conspiracy video and some of the chapters in the The United States of Paranoia taught me how to see the author s purpose in creating the text and how the author appealed to the audience by presenting the text in different mediums. The mini group work done almost daily in class also helped me think more analytically about each text, which helped me writing my final RA. One of the class works was analyzing the opening paragraph of The Metamorphis by Franz Kafka. This task allowed me to see how the author s word choice can change the complete tone of the text and how the audience reacts differently to each type of tone. At the times in which I did participate, I felt that I contributed valuable information as the professor would usually expand on my comment in a positive way. In addition, participating also allowed me to feel confident about my ideas and thought process which enabled me to feel confident writing my assignments. From the very first RIP assignment, the feedback I ve received helped in aiding my final RA. Prior to this class, I didn t truly know how to be specific. Whether this be with a claim or audience, I was describing things broadly. In my RIP #1, where I had to identify a specific group with a shared interest. Essay on Ty Cobb Ty Cobb Although often overshadowed in baseball history by Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb is considered by many sports enthusiasts to be the greatest player to ever play the game of baseball. Tyrus Raymond Cobb, was born December 18, 1886 in Banks County in Narrows, Georgia. He quickly gained much notoriety for his great skill in baseball and eventually earned a position with the Detroit Tigers at the age of nineteen, after playing for several semi pro and Sally league teams. There really was no doubt that the unrefined boy could accomplish his dreams because he was such a hard worker. With this approval and ultimatum for success from a man that Ty admired so greatly, he seemingly needed no more motivation and determination to achieve his dream of playing in the major leagues. But, Ty Cobb would receive much more cause to excel. Unfortunately, the motivation would stem from the murder of his role model, W.H. Worsening the fact that Ty lost a great friend and role model was that his mother was accused of committing the crime. As the story goes, rumors spread around town about the infidelity of Amanda Cobb. W.H. devised a plan to spy on Amanda during one night when he said he would be out of town on business. W.H. climbed on the roof of the house and through an upper level window into Amanda s bedroom. Supposedly, it was there where Amanda shot Mr. Cobb. People feel the need to worship through their religion by the use of prayer every day. Prayer in public places such as schools should be allowed for a variety of reasons. First off, school prayer is defined as a state sanctioned or mandatory prayer by students in public schools (Phillips page 1). Based on this definition, it is logical that mandated prayer in schools can be considered school prayer. In modern society, in the United States of America, mandated prayer in schools is prohibited (Phillips page 1). Ever since 1962, school prayer is not allowed (Phillips page 1). An employer is liable for the actions of his employee unless they fall outside the scope of employment. Williams v. Community Drive In Theater, Inc., 520 P.2d 1296, [p. 1297] (Kan. 1974). To fall inside the scope, the employee s actions must (1) arise naturally from the course of their jobs and (2) intend to further employer s interest and not done for personal reasons. Daugherty v. Allee s Sports Bar Grill, 260 S.W.3d 869, [p. 873] (Mo. Ct. App. 2008). Three cases are relevant to understanding this rule. The employee filmed Underwood within the scope of his employment, but posting was outside the scope. The plaintiff alleges invasion of privacy and damage to reputation, but the harms of both claims come from the act of sharing the video with others. Had the employee not shared the video, the plaintiff probably would have no case for damage to her reputation as the events would have stayed between the two parties. Instead, he posted the video. Posting, rather than filming, caused the plaintiff harm. It is clear the employee acted within the scope while filming. As a service worker who often closes the store, an employee should have experience with difficult customers late at night. As such, the situation fell within the normal course of his duties. The worker s main goal was not a personal motive, but to close the store. He thought filming the plaintiff would incentive her to leave. Posting falls outside the scope of employment for a few reasons. First, he posted the video to his personal account for the purposes of entertaining online viewers. He also knew that Vega did not approve of him being on YouTube during work hours, but did so anyway. Finally, Vega noted embarrassing customers did not benefit the business, but might ease personal annoyances to the worker, meaning the video helped the posting employee to the detriment his employer. The healthcare industry is continuing to give positive changes for patients and employees thanks to computer technology. It has made it easier and more productive for patients and employees. Now patients can feel more at ease during their doctor s visit because of the benefits of technology. In the first place, computer technology have made it more efficient for physicians. Now physicians can work up patients faster, thanks to the computer programs that is provided for them. In order to aid clinical decision making, it is important that data is collected and presented to the doctor as quickly as possible; electronic systems are therefore advantageous in performing these tasks. Essay About Obama Failure Successes and Failures of the Obama Presidency Leaders are often credited with the success of the country under their administration, as well as blamed for failures during their time in power. To say that the successes and failures of the Obama administration are solely a reflection of him and his decisions alone would make little sense. There are several different factors that could hinder him from making decisions, or aid him in making decisions and getting policies passed. Romney was a fresh face, who had a lengthy political background, and who, according to the Washington Post, would have won the election, had it just been held a little later. According to the Post, the hypothetical eight point shift in the popular vote that Romney had acquired according to poll of registered voters would have allowed him to win the election by virtually the same margin that Obama had actually won by (Blake 1). Obama s failure to deliver on his promises caused a handful, about 1 in 5, of his previous supporters to put their trust in Romney instead of him, and this newfound trust in his opponent planted the seed of doubt in the public s mind about the President s abilities to deliver on his previous claims that he had made to get elected (What if Mitt Romney had Won?). If the child is continually exposed to multiple violent and trauma acts, they will be physically stressed out. A child having over reactions to things that remind them of the original event can create difficulty in concentration and attention. There are emotional effects such as isolation and inability to trust other peers. This essentially can translate into low self esteem and depression. In one long term study, as many as 80 percent of young adults who had been abused met the diagnostic criteria for at least one psychiatric disorder at age 21. These young adults exhibited many problems, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and suicide attempts ( Silverman, Reinherz Giaconia, 1996). NSCAW found that children who were placed out of home care due to abuse or neglect were scored lower on measures of cognitive capacity, language development, and academic achievement. From my observation, it seemed that the government on all levels failed to prepare, and then aid, the victims of the disaster. Issues such as these prevent the different levels of government from cooperating in an effective manner and demonstrate one of the most significant problems with federalism. Another example of how the different levels of government fail to cooperate effectively is a statement by William Lokey from the federal government s disaster relief agency, FEMA.
