The document summarizes a kick-off meeting between five schools from five countries participating in an Erasmus+ project called "Let The Science Discover Us". At the meeting, held at Institut Marina in Barcelona, Spain, the partner schools met and visited the host school to learn about alternative teaching methods. They also presented their home schools and towns to share information about their respective education systems. The collaboration between teachers was excellent and provided an opportunity to learn from each other at the start of their partnership.

6. An instructive experience
On this first meeting we have met our partner teachers in
person for the first time and visited the town of La Llagosta
and the school Institut Marina. The same building as well
as the teaching methods and the lay out of the classrooms
gave us great hints and insights into alternative methods
and innovative teaching

8. Institut Marina
● The school has great spaces and some of the classes are
open, meaning that the teacher has their own classrooms
while the students move to follow the lessons. The school
has plenty of laboratories and equipment. The playgrounds
and areas used for physical education are ample. The
Catalan language is the first language while Spanish and
English are the main foreign languages

Lessons are given
to classes that are
not very large in
number, which
helps a lot improve
the quality of
teaching.

11. The circular plant of the buildings of
Insitut Marina is very peculiar. The desing
is certainly innovative and aimed at
conjugating practicality to comfort to
rationality. The areas are spacious and
well light during the day. The position of
the desks helps the teachers to keep the
students under control and to put himself
in the focus of their attention.

14. Benefits for our teaching
Barcellona is a favourite destination for school trips so it
was really useful to go there and gather information on
new and more interesting places to show our students.
The science museums and the new architectonic layouts
are astounding and provided us with inspiration and hints

16. The Presentations
● We were invited to present our schools and our towns. It
was an interesting moment of exchange where we shared
information on the school systems of our respective
countries and about the institutions and towns where we
work and sometimes live. The presentations were clear
and comprehensive. Some took the form of well directed
and acted videos with student actors.

The collaboration among
the teachers was excellent.
We helped and learned
from each other. The
Spanish partners
organized everything
perfectly
