Zagreb, September 2015
Introduction
We started this project with a motivation for researching food and tradition, promoting
dialogue between generations and preserving our nation's tradition and cultural heritage. We
believed it to be a necessary step toward enhancing tolerance for foreign cultures and
preventing prejudice within the EU. We anticipated developing many skills; language, IT and

underline all those developed skills and fulfilled aims of the project History in our kitchen.

2. 1. Aims
We successfully researched traditional recipes (our nation's and other partner countries) and
the influence of historical changes that had an impact on our culture. We found many
similarities between our countries.
We also worked within our schools, with our students and colleagues in creating the
understanding of how important is to nourish our cultural heritage and to understand others.
2. Approach
We did the research – using Internet, public libraries, direct approach and collecting data
from our elderly, distributed information about the impact of historical changes on traditional
cuisine.
We published articles in local media and created web page and a Facebook group.
Our main product – eCookbook is a selection of traditional recipes, with stories about their
background and list of typical ingredients for every country.
We organized school events and worked with our local community.
We worked on enhancing English language skills (since it’s the language of the project), ICT
skills and competences and practical skills for everyday life.
3. Results and outcomes
This is the list of our planned outcomes, and we successfully realized all of them:
Project web page

Final evaluation report
4. Impact
Our students have learned about traditions of different European countries and also engaged
in learning more about their own. Through participation in activities and mobility they
developed self-esteem and appreciation for their cultural background, as well as critical
thinking and practical skills like ICT and other organization skills. It was very important for us
educators to underline the importance of tolerance and acceptance amongst ours students.
3. We accomplished that through team work, and the research of similarities in tradition and
historical background of different countries.
Our teachers also worked on raising awareness of their countries and cultures, often used
new methods for their approach to students and improved their language and ICT skills.
Also, through sharing experience with their European colleagues they’ve created a sense of
belonging to a broader community and made contacts for future projects.
Participation in this project enriched our schools and added the European value as well as
created opportunities for future collaboration. We have developed our curriculum and
anticipated different creative groups around this project. We presented our education system
to others and through exchange of ideas we planned some positive changes.
Through dissemination of the project we approached our local community and collaborated in
protecting our tradition and heritage. Parents also had the opportunity of insight into our
project work and supported students in mobilities and other participations – boosting their
self-esteem.
5. Conclusion
This Comenius project has been successfully concluded.
All the participant countries carried our the neccessarry tasks, worked together in creating all
the anticipated project products and organized the minimum number of mobilities.
We achieved every anticipated aim and successfully implemented the project results into our
schools’ curriculum.
