Eye Safety Procedures
If there is a possibility while working or playing your eyes may incur an injury, "please wear
protective lenses." Eye Protection Safety Glasses is most people's choice for protecting their eyes.
Especially if you know you'll be in an environment where it's possible you will be exposed to any
kind of eye hazardous material, particulates flying or possibly floating around.
A good rule of thumb is take action and use protective eyewear at all times.
Often around the home, while playing, at the office or in an industrial environment, we don't think
there are any potential eye hazards. Or; we tend to ignore the side of common sense and convince
ourselves by not enforcing self regulate policy of caution for ourselves or employees.
Certain areas ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If none available inform your supervisor or superior and ask what your next course of action should
be.
There are two main reasons why people don't wear eye protection. For most people they are;
comfort and obstruction of site.
Following our theme; always caution on the side of safety. When purchasing eye protection lenses
pick out a type that do the following! One; fit properly two; are comfortable three; use corrective
lenses (if needed), four; look good on you when wearing, five; are they style type required to wear
for the situation you are going to use them? Now; lastly and I believe just as important as all the
others. Can I perform the task or job without them being a major annoyance?
Let's do a quick review; make sure the type of glasses you are wearing meet the requirements of the
hazards around you. Look out for yourself and be in charge of your eye protection and wearing
proper safety glasses.
Don't forget! There are general maintenance requirements just like any other piece of equipment and
safety glasses are no different. I'd suggest taking good care of your safety glasses. If your lenses fog
up and become a problem seeing while wearing them, you have several options. They make an anti–
fog coating and in some lense types have ventilation openings (slots) on their side

Importance Of Child Protection In Safeguarding
Safeguarding is the action taken to ensure the safety and well–being of children as well as protecting
them from harm, abuse and exploitation. Child protection is a part of safeguarding it ensures the
protection and welfare of children. There are two elements that come under child protection these
are the health and safety and child abuse.
Children should be protected from any type of abuse, there are five types of abuse that children can
become victims of these are physical abuse, neglect, sexual abuse, emotional abuse and domestic
abuse. All those working with children must ensure to look out for signs, symptoms and indicators
that a child might be abused. "Child protection is part of the safeguarding process. It focuses on
protecting individual children identified as suffering or likely to suffer significant harm." NSPCC,
(2017)
The health and safety of children must be put first. All those working with children must ensure to
always take children's safety into consideration for example if the EYP was to carry out an activity
which involved scissors she would need to ensure that it is age and stage appropriate for the child,
this is to ensure that not harm comes to the child.
There are numerous of legislations and guidelines that protect and safeguard the well–being of
children. These legislations ensure that all children are protected from harm and maltreatment.
These laws apply to all those working with children and they must ensure to follow these to prevent
any harm

Osha 's Ppe Standards ( Personal Protective Equipment ) Essay
In accordance with the OSHA's PPE standards (Personal Protective equipment), an assessment of a
motor vehicle garage was performed to identify if there were hazards present that would affect the
employees. Based on the assessment, applicable PPE's were selected for the affected employees.
The following are the guidelines that were used for the process. Survey The first step of the
assessment involved surveying the garage (workshop). This included a walk–through with the
purpose of identifying sources of hazards in areas of question such as paint shop, body shop, and
storage unit among others. Particular attention was given to the primary hazard categories that
include: penetration, impact, heat, compression, harmful dust and fumes, light and impact. These
categories were used as basis on which the sources of hazards were identified. Sources The survey
identified hazards to emanate from the following areas. The paint shop where chemical exposures
were high as a result of the fumes generated when painting cars. It was identified that paint fumes
are very toxic and could result in chronic medical conditions when employees are not well
protected. The body shop was the second area that was identified for hazards. There were numerous
machinery and many tools of work that were heavy, sharp, and dangerous. Especially the vehicle
lifts, car rampsand, and other socialized tools. These presented possible injuries resulting from
collusions and falling objects. The body workshop was a

Emerging Risks
According to the 2015 KPMG Healthcare Cybersecurity Survey, 81% of healthcare executives
report that their "organizations have been compromised by malware, botnets or cyber attacks at least
once in the past two years."
There's an increasingly new wave of thieves who desire this type healthcare data. This usually
includes specific information about an individual's health status and payment for healthcare.

First Day After Surgery Research Paper
After LASIK When Is It Safe To Play Again? After LASIK surgery your vision will immediately
improve and the entire recovery process is rather quick. Within the first day, if your job is one where
the risk of eye injury is low, you may return to work. You may even fly in an airplane, permitted you
keep your eyes lubricated to protect them from the plane's dry air.
The day after surgery you'll also be permitted to shower (avoid getting soap or water in your eyes),
drive short distances (if it's confirmed you have adequate vision), work on a computer or watch TV
(permitted you keep your eyes lubricated), wear facial makeup (no eye makeup), and lift objects
weighing less than 50 lbs.

activities. You can exercise and engage in outdoor ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With or without little ones, you'll also be permitted to apply eye makeup (remove gently and avoid
touching the eye area), lift more than 50 lbs., and relax in a sauna or steam room.
A month after the surgery you'll be able to engage in more of your dare devil interests (or discover
new ones). With eye protection, you can go dirt–biking or skydiving, feeding your inner adrenaline
junkie If you'd prefer activities that don't require eye protection, you can try some standard sports
such as basketball, soccer or low–speed water sports such as swimming or sailing.
Once three months has passed all restrictions are lifted and you are completely free. Your eyes
should be ready to take on activities without eye protection, although eye professionals highly
recommend the continued use of eye protection in high–trauma activities. They also recommend the
use of eye protection against ultraviolet rays when outdoors. Protecting your eyes with a good pair
of sunglasses is always a good investment, especially after LASIK

Google Glass Essay
Google Glass, Good or Bad
Google Glass, the future has arrived. Being able to use the computer with only your head has always
been thought of as futuristic but this technology may already be here. Google announced its new
project, project glass, in January 2013, and it took the world by surprise, no one thought it was
capable to search the web, take a video, or even text someone using only glasses. Google X Lab is
developing Glass and Project Glass leader Babak Parviz announced the new project on Google+.

Talking on the phone and texting causes most car accidents; just imagine how many more car
accidents would take place if you had a computer right in front of your face when driving. These are
just some consequences of Google glass. There could also be physical repercussions of Google
glass. By this I mean that Google glass could have side effects on your body. If cell phones and
laptops can produce harmful radiation waves it is not hard to imagine that Google Glass can offer
the same risks as it communicates by Bluetooth and 3G connections. The waves from the new
Google glass may cause more damage than the ones from the cell phones because the new Google
glass is supposed to be attached to your head all the time the waves are now closer to your brain
potentially causing more damage than phones because phones are not attached to your head all day
long. This is the side effect Google glass could have on your body. There is no question that the new
Google Glasses are different and unique, the features Google is promising with their new glasses
can be truly revolutionary technology. But are the side effects really worth the risks. These glasses
have the potential to invade the privacy of others, cause more car accidents, and even damage your
brain. But these are just potential dangers that the device may have, we will not be sure until the
glasses are released to the public. The new age of technology is here but is it really a safer

Elements Of A Personal Protective Equipment Program
Personal Protective Equipment Program
The following report answers questions on a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Program project.
It will briefly describe the different components of a PPE Program for a company called ABC
Plastics and outline the elements of a typical program.
Scope and Description of the PPE Program
ABC Plastics Company will access the workplace to identify and evaluate the hazards present or
potential hazards likely to be present which requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment
(PPE). If the hazards are present or likely to be present, we will as far as it is reasonably practicable
remove or eliminate the hazards or exposure through engineering control. Where this is not feasible,
we will select the type of PPE that will protect the employee, require that the PPE is used by the
employee and communicate the selection decision to the employees.
The purpose of this PPE program is to protect our employees by ensuring that the workers are
trained on the use, and maintenance of the appropriate PPE. We will ensure that the PPE is provided,
used, and maintained in a sanitary and reliable condition due to the potential hazards from
workplace processes.
As part of the Health and Safety Orientation we will ensure that all employees and contractors are
initially trained in the use of the PPE relevant to their area of occupational responsibility, primary
work area and assigned task at the time of hire. Ongoing and refresher training in PPE will be made

DYFS Argumentative Essay
As to what I known during my developmental stages was that what is now called Child Protection
and Permanency, CP&P was in the past called the Division of Youth and Family Services, DYFS
had a bad reputation behind its name. When growing up, it was the acronym, DYFS that was mostly
said and used that brought awareness in the African American and/or poor communities that
someone's child(ren) was going to be taken away from the home. It was DYFS that put that fear in
families as an indication of the removal of children for reasons indicated, and/or false accusations.

Sribnick (2011) writes about "permanency planning," as a way "to provide services to help keep
children with their parents or, if that was not possible, to encourage the adoption of children" (p.
152). This was beneficial for families, because it was an opportunity of reunification for children
and their families. For example, I worked at a group home as a caregiver helping and taking care of
young girls who were mentally, physically/sexually, and/or emotionally abuse. The group home was
not a permanent home, because the girls still have the chance to reunite and go live with their
mother and/or family. If that was a disadvantage for any of the girls, adoption is the next ongoing,
searching process until placed in a loving and providing home environment. This is what should
have been for DYFS in the past. It was the viewpoints of individuals in society, and DYFS
themselves whom continued to be seen as "they are taking my child(ren) away," or "I'm taking your
child(ren) away." There were no changes, I believe. As time progressed on, DYFS change to CP&P
with services and an opportunity to children and families of reunification and/or adoption. There are
also changes in the foster care system of services provided to children, now adults out of foster care,
because of enacted policies for their well being in the community. Former children in adulthood are

A Thousand Splendid Suns
In a nation brimming with discrimination, violence and fear, a multitudinous number of hearts will

than human, and men have the jurisdiction over the women. At the same time, the most horrible

Some weeks, if the wallet was light, she took only a five–afghani bill, or nothing at all, for the fear
that he would notice. When the wallet was plump, she helped herself to a ten or a twenty, once even
risking two twenties. She hid the money in a pouch she'd sewn in the lining of her checkered winter
coat. (247) Laila's boldness is shown as she makes a courageous decision to steal from Rasheed,
risking his acrimony if he were to discover her theft. However, Laila is stealing for a very good
cause, which would benefit both herself, and Aziza. Similarly, Mariam exhibits her attribute of being
bold as well, when she strikes Rasheed with a shovel in order to save both Laila and herself: If she
let him walk now, how long before he fetched the key from his pocket and went for that gun of his

with shooting only her, that there would be a chance he would spare Laila, she might have dropped
the shovel. But in Rasheed's eyes she saw murder for them both. And so Mariam raised the shovel
high, raised it as high as she could, arching it so it touched the small of her back. She turned it so the
sharp edge was vertical, and, as she did, it occurred to her that this was the first time that she was
deciding the course of her own life. And, with that, Mariam brought down the shovel.

Catcher In The Rye Coming Of Age Analysis
Although J.D. Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye is widely considered a coming of age novel, Holden
tries to avoid growing up for a majority of the book. The novel follows the protagonist Holden
Caulfield in the days after he leaves Pencey, his boarding school in Pennsylvania, and ventures into
New York on his own. Throughout the book, Holden has a simple view of the world in which he
sees adult characters as "phonies" and "bastards" while he sees young children as "good", innocent,
and pure. As Holden is exposed to the many challenges of adulthood in New York, he tries to
preserve his own childhood and innocence because he sees so many flaws in the adult world.
Holden also dreams of preserving the innocence and purity of the children around him, such as his
"kid sister Phoebe" because he does not want to see them grow up (66). While Holden's desire to
protect innocence and stop change initially causes tension between his ideas of running away and
staying to protect Phoebe, Holden eventually resolves this tension by deciding to stay with Phoebe.
However, after Holden decides to stay, his realization that change occurs in a circular motion helps
him finally accept the transition into adulthood and let go of his desire to prevent change. Holden
has a desire to stop change and preserve innocence throughout a majority of the book, which pushes
him to run away in order to prevent himself from entering adulthood. As Holden visits the museum
from his childhood, he states that "the

Critical Infrastructure Protection
Introduction
The Presidential Policy Directive (PPD) on Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience advances
a national unity of effort to strengthen and maintain secure, functioning, and resilient critical
infrastructure (The White House Office of the Press Secretary, February 2013). It is imperative for
every nation to develop a critical infrastructure protection plan that will provide the essential
services to its society. To archive this, a government must be proactive and coordinate its efforts that
will reinforce and maintain secure, functioning, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To knock down these impediments, the present administration must initiate an action plan that
marshals federal resources and technical support wisely, helps cities and states understand their
infrastructure vulnerabilities and identify their priority upgrades, and incentivize private–sector
investment to rapidly drive a major wave of productive new investments.
Below we outline the core elements of such a successful national strategy for infrastructure
resilience.
Launch a national infrastructure–vulnerability assessment
The Obama administration must conduct a single comprehensive assessment of our nation's
infrastructure. This survey would link the information that already exists within the agencies so it
would look systematically at the needs and vulnerability of U.S. transportation, electricity, water,
ports and other strategic infrastructure and identify pressing infrastructure needs nationwide. The
survey would then help the administration develop a strategy to promote efficient and rapid
deployment of advanced infrastructure at the national

Parkinson 's Disease
Scientists generally agree that most cases of Parkinson's disease result from some combination of
nature and nurture the interaction between a people's underlying genetic make–up and his or her life
activities and environmental exposures. A simple way to describe this is that "genetics loads the gun
and environment pulls the trigger." In this formulation, "environment" has a very broad meaning that
is, it refers to any and all possible causes other than those that are genetic in origin. The interactions
between genes and environment can be quite complex. Some environmental exposures may lower
the risk of PD, while others may increase it. Similarly, some people have inherited a genetic makeup
that makes them more or less susceptible to the effects of toxicants, or poisonous agents, than others.
The effect of a combined exposure can be greater or lower than a single exposure. All of this means
that the particular combination of factors leading to PD is likely to be unique for each person. These
combinations, in different ways, may trigger a common series of biological changes that will
ultimately lead to the disease. Scientists are beginning to tease apart the non–genetic factors that
influence PD risk. In particular, epidemiologists are working to identify differences in the
experiences of people who develop PD, compared to those who do not. But identifying these risk
factors can be difficult. Growing up I had an uncle who had Parkinson disease. He got this from

Should Guns Be Allowed Public Places?
THE RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS
December 15, 1791 Second amendment to the United States Constitution protects the rights of the
people to bear arms. As for many people this I've been known for years but it was brought to my
attention that I was asked today " should guns be allowed in public places?"; such as schools, parks
and malls. As I was being questioned, it took me a minute answer, I agree gun should be allowed in
places but here's my reasons why. Growing up I always seen my father protect, defend, and honored
his family at any cost. So I 'm big on protection. Guns in schools should be allowed but only in the
right hands, Parks are dangerous and even though your child maybe having fun and your keeping a
close eye, you never know who 's watching from a far, and last but not least malls, Around a certain
time there are some people who watches your closer than you know. People are dangerous in the
world. I believe guns should be allowed but only in The right hands. Policemen and anyone who
takes the class and passes all test should be able to their weapon wherever they please.
" If someone was to ever break into the house, I would lay down my life so you and your mother
could get to safety." My father once told me as little girl. "If you see a gun in the house do you touch
it?" "No sir." I responded "Do you know why we have a gun in the house?" "Yes sir, for our
protection." Growing up with a military father his main things were order and protection. When I

The Three Major Types Of Weapons Of Mass Destruction
There are three major types of weapons of mass destruction and those are nuclear weapons,
biological warfare agents, and chemical warfare agents. These weapons share their potential for
large–scale destruction and the indiscriminate nature of their effects, notably against civilians.
WMD's challenges our peace and security here in the United States. There is a strategy for dealing
with weapons of mass destructions, and it is the three pillars, which are counter proliferation,
nonproliferation, and WMD consequence management. The United States has tried to stop other
countries; however, it has gotten to a point that if the United States is attacked with nuclear
weapons, then the U.S. will use WMD as a response to the attack. When it comes to weapons of
mass destruction in the possession of hostile countries and even terrorists, it is one of the greatest
security challenges facing the United States. The first strategy to combat WMD is counter
proliferation to combat WMD use, counter proliferations are fully integrated into the basic doctrines,
in trainings, and even equipping of all forces, since it is important for the U.S military and
appropriate agencies to be prepared to deter and defend against any possible WMD event. With
strengthened nonproliferation to combat WMD proliferation, in order to prevent states from
acquiring WMD and missiles, we must enhance diplomacy, arms control, multilateral agreements,
threat reduction assistance, and export controls. That is to slow and make it more costly to access
sensitive technologies, materials, and expertise. In addition, the laws and treaties that are
consistently violated by Iran for years, are the treaty of the non–profeliration of nuclear weapons,
because they developed a nuclear program that is without the consent of the IAEA. They also has
held into chemical agents and acculturated their chemical stockpile. In the other hand, North Korea
has yet to give up its nuclear weapons, and North Korea has violated the obligations to the IAEA, by
actively developing nuclear weapons. North Korea is likely exchanging nuclear expertise to Iran,
Libya, and Pakistan. It has also sold missiles to Iran. they even have tested their first nuclear
weapon. As we can

P.P.E is an abbreviation for the term Personal Protective Equipment. When working if there is risks
relating to someone's health, safety or both personal protective equipment must be issued and
available to them.
Why is it important?
It is important because these equipment's which are used help protect the person from any risks or
hazards which may arise. So it safeguards them from the potential health and safety threats ensuring
that they are not harmed whatsoever.
Examples of P.P.E and why we have them:
Laboratory coats and protective eyewear: When carrying out experiments or being in a scientific lab
always wear goggles to protect eyes and lab coats. This avoids contamination of clothes as well as
protects your skin.
Gloves: These should be worn when carrying dangerous chemicals; this avoids it from going onto
your skin as if it was to spill it would spill onto the gloves which is protecting your skin.
Appropriate shoes– In a scientific workplace you should wear shoes that cover your feet fully
showing no skin whatsoever. This is because it protects the skin from any harm because if any

Literature Review
Despite the numerous hand injuries occurring each year, 70% of workers aren't wearing hand
protection, while another 30 aren't wearing the right gloves (17). A glove from one firm may not
have the same chemical resistance as a glove that appears to be an identical glove made by another
firm (12). There are many variations of gloves available today to protect from hazards, however
nature of hazard and the operation will have an impact on the selection of the gloves (10). OSHA's
hand protection guideline indicates some factors that impact the selection of protective gloves used
in a workplace: types of chemicals handled, nature and duration of contact, area requiring protection
(hand only, forearm, arm), grip requirements, thermal protection, size and comfort and
abrasion/resistance requirements (10). In some instances, companies tend to adapt a technique called
"double gloving" which is the overlapping of two pairs of gloves, one over the other (12). When
worn, it affords a double layer of protection (12). If the outer glove starts to degrade or tears open,
the inner glove continues to offer protection until the gloves are removed and replaced (12). This
technique isn't the most optimal however provides additional protection to the pair of gloves

systems. P1. Discuss the aspects of health and safety legislation and regulations that apply when
working with fluid power equipment and systems. P2. Describe the safety precautions that apply
when working with fluid power equipment and systems. P1. Fluid power is the use of fluids under
immense pressure to generate, control, and transmit power; this is split into hydraulics which uses
oil or water, and pneumatics which uses gas such as air. There are many health and safety
legislations and regulations that apply when working with fluid power equipment and systems. This
is to prevent any harm to health or even death in the work place. The main legislation is the Health
and Safety at Work Act 1974, this was brought in to place a duty on all employers ''to ensure, as far
as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety, and welfare at work'' of all their employees. A
regulation of this legislation is a requirement on the employer to carry out a risk assessment. When
there are more than five employees the risk assessment must be more detailed. The Pressure
Systems Safety Regulations 2000 also apply to fluid power as fluid power is working with fluids
under high pressure. Causes of incidents using this type of equipment can be poor maintenance,
unsafe system of work, poor installation, or inadequate repairs etc. Under this regulation these
incident are prevented as the risks are

What Does Holden's Hat Symbolize
In the novel, Catcher in the Rye, by J.D. Salinger, one of the most significant symbols is the main
character, Holden Caulfield, red hunting hat. His hat represents his protection from the world,
adulthood, and his different characteristics. He often will not wear it in front of other people because
it alienates him from the normal crowd. Holden recognizes that he is different from people; yet, he
tries to cover that up, usually using his red hunting hat. Throughout the novel, Holden's hat hides his
unique perspectives and helps him to feel protected from both the world and adulthood. To begin
with, Holden's red hunting hat is a symbol for his protection against the world. The first time that he
uses his hat to make him feel secure is when his roommate, Stradlater, punches Holden in the face.
His initial thought after he is punched, is to find his hat. He most likely thinks of this because his hat
provides a sense of comfort for him, similar to a young child and their blanket. "I couldn't find my
my goddam hunting hat anywhere, Finally I found it. It was under the bed. I put it on, and turned the
old peak around to the back, the way I liked it, and then I went over and took a look at my stupid
face in the mirror (Salinger 45). This evidence demonstrates Holden's need to feel protected from
the world and all his problems, Not only does Holden used his hat to protect himself, he also uses it
to try to protect Phoebe, his younger sister. In his attempt to try to shield Phoebe

My Family
Everyone has their story. What makes them unique and special? Where did they come from? What
made them the way they are ? For me it is that I grew up faster than most. It started when I was
little, I always wanted to do my own hair. The thing I always said was, "I can do it myself." If
anyone tried to help I would still say the same thing. It then continued when my parents got a
divorce. I was very young; around six and a half years old. When this happened I did not know what
to feel but I was still a happy, cheerful kid. I now realize that family is very valuable and can change
in a heartbeat. The idea of family to me means people who would do almost anything for you and
you would do the same. After the divorce, when at my dad's, I had to help take care of my younger
brother. I would help him dress, brush his teeth, and make food. I now value what my mom does and
did when I was a kid more because taking care of my little brother was difficult.
After the divorce, my mom, my brother, and I moved to Fox Island. My initial feeling on Fox Island
was that it was pretty. Now, I was six at the time so my vocabulary was not descriptive but a better
way to put it would be, delightful. I now see the water different, it is like the tears of every person,
good or bad had collected. At the time we were moving in with my grandparents. The time living
with them was interesting, it was like having three parents. You might think that is a good thing, but
they became overwhelming so I

The Death Penalty Should Be Abolished

Bursting the Protective Bubble
Abortion is a sin. The death penalty should be abolished. Donald Trump will make America great
again. Fairlife is better than Trumoo. I don't necessarily agree with all of these statements, but they
are all widely discussed topics today. Did any of the comments make you feel uneasy?
In recent years, it has been more difficult for our generation to address difficult topics. We have a
strong fear that if we say something opposing the status quo, we might be ridiculed or offend
someone with the opposing view. How did we get here?
The answer most likely involves generational shifts. Childhood itself has changed greatly during the
past generation. Imagine your parents' childhoods. Many of them rode their bikes through the streets
without any supervision by the time they were 8 years old. After school, they were expected to
occupy themselves, getting minor bumps and bruises here and there, but learning from the
experiences. Now, imagine your childhood. If it's anything like mine, your parents hovered in the
background, coming to the rescue whenever you fell down. They were simply trying to keep you
safe, however this protective demeanor carried on through schooling and beyond. Now, rather than
protecting you from physical harm, parents and society protect you from words, ideas and subjects
that might cause discomfort or give offense. We have become all too reliant on this protection, and

When the uniform is warn correctly it provides a barrier between the dental assistant and the
patient's blood, saliva and other body fluids. This high standard of personal hygiene before
procedures is necessary to protect the dental assistant, patients and other staff members and their
families from an increased risk of infection.
During a dental procedure dental assistants must ensure that they follow infection control standards.
This involves the dental assistant and the patient, wearing protective equipment. The dental assistant
should place a bib around the patient before procedures. The dental assistant should put their own
mask and eyewear on. The mask covers the nose and mouth and it provides a barrier to minimizes
the risk of inhaling aerosols or contact with body fluids. The mask must be worn during all dental
procedures. Eyewear protection must be worn by the patient and by the dental assistants during
dental procedures. Protective glasses protect the eyes from flying particles, blood splatters and
chemical splashes. After ensuring the patient is comfortable and covered with a bib, the dental
assistant washes their hands, then puts on the mask, then the glasses. Then the dental assistant puts
on gloves to protect the hands. Gloves may have tiny defects that are not obvious and particles on

The Veil and Persepolis Essay
In Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi the main character, Marjane, lives in Iran and is required, by fear
of punishment, to wear a veil that only leaves her face uncovered. Having to wear a veil is portrayed
as an insult to women's rights. However in the article "Why We Wear the Haijab," by Sumayyah
Hussein, Sumayya Syed says the veil "'liberates you from the media'" (p118) It is also seen as a form
of protection from judgment and western influences. The women interviewed in the article tell of the
benefits of wearing the veil and see it as an honor instead of an insult, like in Persepolis. The veil is
part of Iran's culture. To de–emphasize a women's body and to gain respect as a person, the veil is

When required to wear the veil Marjane was exceeding in school, had a close relationship to god,
and was actively concerned about the political standings in Iran. She had a lot of friends at school,
where she wore the veil, and was happy and well adapted. The veil protected Marjane from being
negatively influenced and distracted.
At fourteen Marjane is sent to Austria to study, where she loses herself and strays away from her
culture. She is exposed to things that, in her culture, are forbidden and looked down upon. When not
wearing the veil she almost instantly gives into peer pressure. She fits in and has friends, but learns
quickly that they won't be there for her in her time of need. In "Why We Wear the Hijab" Hana Tariq
points out that "'people who are friend with you because of the way you look aren't real friends.'"
(p118) wearing the veil helps create a uniform removing any judgment made based on material
objects or appearance. She rejects the veil and all the morals that go along with it. In Iran the veil
helped protect Marjane from distractions in the media, the same distractions that exist in Austria.
The longer the media influenced her, the harder it was for her to gain respect from peers and adults
alike.
When Marjane hits rock bottom in she moves back to Iran and lives with her parents. She struggles

Methods of Identifying Hazards
Health and Safety in a workplace
What is a hazard?
A hazard is any way damage, harm or anything affecting health at work. Hazards can be caused by
any health effects or by organizations as property or equipment.
What is a risk?
A risk is if a person has a change that they will be harmed due to a hazard. Factors that can affect the
risk are; how much the person has been affected by the hazard and how severe the effects were.
Evaluate the Risk:
For evaluating the risk, the hazards have to be spotted first. By law you have to do everything
"reasonably practicable" to stop anyone in the workplace from getting an injury while using
equipment. For example when using a pillar drill a plastic transparent cover could be used to protect

For adequate PPE employees should wear equipment they have chosen so they are more
comfortable with wearing the PPE, also must be good quality equipment because the products will
last longer and be more reliable. Employees must be trained on how to use the equipment and to
explain why it's needed, and how important the protection is. For example on a construction site a
safety helmet is needed because in case of falling objects flying overhead, added extras can be
added to a safety helmet such as goggles to protect eyes also. Also equipment such as protected
boots with the steel toe caps and penetrate resistant materials, this is good on a construction site
because can stop items falling and damaging or cutting the employees feet, also can be used with the
correct sole to stop slips at work which may cause an injury to the worker.
Risk Assessments:
The first step of any risk assessment is to evaluate the hazards, depending on what type of work
there is, there are many different hazards that needed to be taken into consideration. Also on a
construction site it may not always just be the employees getting harmed, it could be the public,
contractors or visitors. There are many risks that can happen every day and it is very unlikely to be
able to get rid of all the risks from a workplace. The risk assessment should only include what risks
are major and can cause a big problem to the workers. In any risk

Health Safety Environment : The Protection Of The Body...
HEALTH SAFETY ENVIRONMENT Brief Introduction Health refers to the protection of the body
from illness that may result from interaction with materials for construction, processes, and
generally the procedures used in site and field. On the other hand safety refers to the protection of
people from any type of physical injury. These two terms are used interchangeably in describing the
concern for both the physical and psychological well–being of people, particularly laborers in this
instance. I was privileged to be attached for three months in Hydroarch S.R.L Consultants. They
were the supervisor of the ongoing Road construction: Eldoret (Maili Tisa) – Webuye road. The
main contractor being Maltauro S.P.A. The Consultant had a well–equipped laboratory as well as the
contractor. However it was the contractor who ultimately was equipped and its Labour force far
much exceeded that of the consultant. Therefore, on both sides, a keen attention towards the
handling of equipment in lab to the final execution of work required a health and safety policy to
eliminate any adverse risk of injury. A major project like that, any mater arising that would
jeopardize the health and safety of the workers would have a detrimental impact on Time, Scope and
Budget of the project. The site manager was solely responsible for the safety and health aspects of
the workers on field work. Health and safety Policies: The following are policies which had been

Dear Editor, Your article pertaining to the crimes against the older population was thorough and well
delivered. The elderly population is indeed becoming victimized on a larger scale than has been seen
in the past. This increase is a result of the growing number of seniors living in society with little
protection. Perhaps the most compelling part of your article was that of your question "Who is

question and one which I could not help but share ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If a family member is suspected of being the perpetrator of abuse, neglect, or exploitation they
should in fact not be involved in the seniors life but otherwise there should be a common sense rule
that we look out for our family members. Too often seniors refuse to report abuse, neglect, or crime
against them out of fear of losing independence. It is a common misconception that being victimized
will deem you unfit to live independently and will result in being placed in a facility of some sort. It
is important that seniors feel they can turn to those around them with concerns and incidents that
occur. In the event that a senior is not forthcoming with information there are a number of avenues
that may involve reporting of suspected incidents. Hospitals, doctors, community service
organizations, and long term care facilities can report suspected crimes to authorities or Department
of Social Services in an effort to protect the individual. If a senior cannot properly protect
themselves then health care professionals from all areas should have the ability to act on behalf of
the individual to seek help but not dictate the overall outcome as a result. For example: simply
finding that a person has been a victim of exploitation should not mean that a person be moved
immediately into a facility forfeiting their right to care for themselves. All facilities acting to protect
a senior should aim to preserve senior

The Use Of Use Of Advertisements On Advertising
The Use of Animals in Rhetorical Advertising
The use of an owl to sell glasses is perhaps an influence to grab people's attention. Many ads today
use animals, and as a result intrigue people to obtain products that companies are demonstrating in
their ads. Moreover, the "America's Best" ad uses one fact, the $69.95 price, but supports it with
evidence to impress people about their glasses and how the company constructs them. The current
television advertisement is depicting an owl promoting "America's Best" glasses to a lady, which
conveys the use of rhetoric in prosperous ads. This advertisement portrays the idea of shopping at
"America's Best" for eyeglasses. First of all, an owl is perched on the back of a park bench, adjacent
to a lady. In addition, the owl's attire includes his eyeglasses from "America's Best", while the lady
is wearing glasses from another place. The owl turns to the woman and says "You know you paid
too much for those glasses?". Then, the woman responds "Who?". As the conversation continues,
the owl keeps ranting about how "America's Best" has a deal for two pairs of glasses for $69.95 and
a free eye exam included. Throughout the entire ad, the woman teases the owl about the deal that
America's Best is offering by saying "who" repeatedly. Near the conclusion of the ad, the owl
catches on to the woman's tactics and he gets frustrated with her habitual use of the question
"who?". The ad targets people that wear glasses, since the advertisement

Catcher In The Rye Isolation Quotes
By the end of the novel, Holden learns to accept society for what it is and accept the fact that kids do
not necessarily need his protection from society or any of its prejudices, judgements, or
expectations. This does not mean that he cannot help them, as he can stay there and be waiting for
them to at least reduce the pain undergone due to the aforementioned societal aspects whenever they
need his help. After a single day and a deep, meaningful, and serious talk with Mr. Antolini, Holden
adapts to fit this role ideally. When he is about to leave for Mr. Antolini's house, Holden "[takes]
[his] hunting hat out of [his] coat pocket and [gives] it to [Phoebe]. She likes those kind of crazy
hats. She [does not] want to take it, but [he] [makes] her." (Salinger, 198–199). Here, Holden gives
the hat to Phoebe in hopes that it will protect her from whatever societal harshness or hardships she
undergoes while he is at Mr. Antolini's house. This hunting hat jointly symbolizes protection and
isolation. It is a way of isolating oneself from all of the phony people because as Holden himself
admits on multiple occasions, it is ugly and displeasing to the eye. This could potentially be a way
by which he tries to deter himself from all of the phoniness in the world. One type of phonies are
those who take everything at face value, and by wearing this hat, Holden deters at least them. That
could even be the reason why he likes this hat so much: the fact that it makes him come into contact

Oakley Unstoppables Case Study
These Oakley Women's Unstoppable sunglasses are considered one of the best sunglasses for UV
eye protection. Ultraviolet rays from the sun damages your cornea, lens of the eye, and the eyelids.
Many people believe that the darkness of the sunglasses lens provide blockage of UV rays, but that
isn't the case. Polarized lenses are what give you eye protection.
Overview of Oakley Women's Unstoppable Sunglasses
The best sunglasses for UV eye protection have polarization, which we mentioned previously. The
Oakley Unstoppables have the kind of lenses you need. They also have variations that don't have
polarization, so make sure you're aware of that before ordering.
You can mix and match frame and lens colors to give you exactly the style you want for driving,
heading to the beach, or walking around near the water. They're lightweight lenses and frames, so
you can wear them all day while the nose pads will stop the glasses from slipping during any
activity.
Manufacturer
While Oakley is based in California, it's a subsidiary of Luxottica. They're an Italian company that
produces luxury sports equipment as well as other accessories like watches, shoes, and backpacks.
The company was created by James Jannard out of his garage. The year was 1975.
In that year, they were revolutionary because of the grips, which were made of a trademarked
material he called Unobtainium. It's still used in the nose piece of the sunglasses, too. Oakleys have
long since been associated with the sports industry as the go–to glasses.
Frame and Lens Colors Available
The frames come in a few different colors; black, crystal raspberry, matte brown tortoise, metallic
black, polished black, raspberry spritzer, and tortoise. This gives you enough variety to have a pair
that will match nearly every outfit you own.
The lenses come in black non–polarized, gray, black, prizm tungsten polarized, chrome iridium

An Assignment On Suspected Infectious Cases Should Be...
1) Suspected infectious cases should be isolated as an additional precaution. Placing the patient in an
isolation ward reduces the chances of contaminating the surrounding environment hence why the
patient should be taken through an alternative entrance instead of walking the patient through the
entire clinic. Isolation can end up being unnecessary however all suspected infectious cases must be
treated as infectious until a diagnosis is performed. Once the Veterinarian has a reasonable suspicion
of a disease that may potentially be infectious, client education can be performed. Clients must be
aware that animals that are suspected to be potentially infectious must be handled this way to reduce
the spread of pathogens or disease and preventing it entering the bodies of other animals in our care.

Talking on the phone and texting causes most car accidents; just imagine how many more car accidents would take place if you had a computer right in front of your face when driving. These are just some consequences of Google glass. There could also be physical repercussions of Google glass. By this I mean that Google glass could have side effects on your body. If cell phones and laptops can produce harmful radiation waves it is not hard to imagine that Google Glass can offer the same risks as it communicates by Bluetooth and 3G connections. The waves from the new Google glass may cause more damage than the ones from the cell phones because the new Google glass is supposed to be attached to your head all the time the waves are now closer to your brain potentially causing more damage than phones because phones are not attached to your head all day long. This is the side effect Google glass could have on your body. It will briefly describe the different components of a PPE Program for a company called ABC Plastics and outline the elements of a typical program. Scope and Description of the PPE Program ABC Plastics Company will access the workplace to identify and evaluate the hazards present or potential hazards likely to be present which requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). If the hazards are present or likely to be present, we will as far as it is reasonably practicable remove or eliminate the hazards or exposure through engineering control. Where this is not feasible, we will select the type of PPE that will protect the employee, require that the PPE is used by the employee and communicate the selection decision to the employees. The purpose of this PPE program is to protect our employees by ensuring that the workers are trained on the use, and maintenance of the appropriate PPE. We will ensure that the PPE is provided, used, and maintained in a sanitary and reliable condition due to the potential hazards from workplace processes. As part of the Health and Safety Orientation we will ensure that all employees and contractors are initially trained in the use of the PPE relevant to their area of occupational responsibility, primary work area and assigned task at the time of hire. • 19. DYFS Argumentative Essay As to what I known during my developmental stages was that what is now called Child Protection and Permanency, CP&P was in the past called the Division of Youth and Family Services, DYFS had a bad reputation behind its name. When growing up, it was the acronym, DYFS that was mostly said and used that brought awareness in the African American and/or poor communities that someone's child(ren) was going to be taken away from the home. It was DYFS that put that fear in families as an indication of the removal of children for reasons indicated, and/or false accusations. Some single parent families would do their hardest to work, take care, and provide for the children from the low income that was earn from working, and stay out of the eye of ever ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sribnick (2011) writes about "permanency planning," as a way "to provide services to help keep children with their parents or, if that was not possible, to encourage the adoption of children" (p. 152). This was beneficial for families, because it was an opportunity of reunification for children and their families. For example, I worked at a group home as a caregiver helping and taking care of young girls who were mentally, physically/sexually, and/or emotionally abuse. The group home was not a permanent home, because the girls still have the chance to reunite and go live with their mother and/or family. If that was a disadvantage for any of the girls, adoption is the next ongoing, searching process until placed in a loving and providing home environment. This is what should have been for DYFS in the past. It was the viewpoints of individuals in society, and DYFS themselves whom continued to be seen as "they are taking my child(ren) away," or "I'm taking your child(ren) away." There were no changes, I believe. As time progressed on, DYFS change to CP&P with services and an opportunity to children and families of reunification and/or adoption. There are also changes in the foster care system of services provided to children, now adults out of foster care, because of enacted policies for their well being in the community. Former children in adulthood are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the eye–opening novel, A Thousand Splendid Suns written by Khaled Hosseini, the country of Afghanistan is exposed to possess cruel, treacherous and sexist law and people. The women are classified as something lower than human, and men have the jurisdiction over the women. At the same time, the most horrible treatment can bring out some of the best traits in victims, such as consideration, boldness, and protectiveness. When the wallet was plump, she helped herself to a ten or a twenty, once even risking two twenties. She hid the money in a pouch she'd sewn in the lining of her checkered winter coat. (247) Laila's boldness is shown as she makes a courageous decision to steal from Rasheed, risking his acrimony if he were to discover her theft. However, Laila is stealing for a very good cause, which would benefit both herself, and Aziza. Similarly, Mariam exhibits her attribute of being bold as well, when she strikes Rasheed with a shovel in order to save both Laila and herself: If she let him walk now, how long before he fetched the key from his pocket and went for that gun of his upstairs in the room where he'd locked Zalmai? Had Miriam been certain that he would be satisfied with shooting only her, that there would be a chance he would spare Laila, she might have dropped the shovel. But in Rasheed's eyes she saw murder for them both. And so Mariam raised the shovel high, raised it as high as she could, arching it so it touched the small of her back. She turned it so the sharp edge was vertical, and, as she did, it occurred to her that this was the first time that she was deciding the course of her own life. • 23. Catcher In The Rye Coming Of Age Analysis Although J.D. Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye is widely considered a coming of age novel, Holden tries to avoid growing up for a majority of the book. The novel follows the protagonist Holden Caulfield in the days after he leaves Pencey, his boarding school in Pennsylvania, and ventures into New York on his own. Throughout the book, Holden has a simple view of the world in which he sees adult characters as "phonies" and "bastards" while he sees young children as "good", innocent, and pure. As Holden is exposed to the many challenges of adulthood in New York, he tries to preserve his own childhood and innocence because he sees so many flaws in the adult world. Holden also dreams of preserving the innocence and purity of the children around him, such as his "kid sister Phoebe" because he does not want to see them grow up (66). While Holden's desire to protect innocence and stop change initially causes tension between his ideas of running away and staying to protect Phoebe, Holden eventually resolves this tension by deciding to stay with Phoebe. However, after Holden decides to stay, his realization that change occurs in a circular motion helps him finally accept the transition into adulthood and let go of his desire to prevent change. Holden has a desire to stop change and preserve innocence throughout a majority of the book, which pushes him to run away in order to prevent himself from entering adulthood. • 27. Parkinson 's Disease Scientists generally agree that most cases of Parkinson's disease result from some combination of nature and nurture the interaction between a people's underlying genetic make–up and his or her life activities and environmental exposures. A simple way to describe this is that "genetics loads the gun and environment pulls the trigger." In this formulation, "environment" has a very broad meaning that is, it refers to any and all possible causes other than those that are genetic in origin. The interactions between genes and environment can be quite complex. Some environmental exposures may lower the risk of PD, while others may increase it. Similarly, some people have inherited a genetic makeup that makes them more or less susceptible to the effects of toxicants, or poisonous agents, than others. The effect of a combined exposure can be greater or lower than a single exposure. All of this means that the particular combination of factors leading to PD is likely to be unique for each person. These combinations, in different ways, may trigger a common series of biological changes that will ultimately lead to the disease. Scientists are beginning to tease apart the non–genetic factors that influence PD risk. In particular, epidemiologists are working to identify differences in the experiences of people who develop PD, compared to those who do not. But identifying these risk factors can be difficult. As I was being questioned, it took me a minute answer, I agree gun should be allowed in places but here's my reasons why. Growing up I always seen my father protect, defend, and honored his family at any cost. So I 'm big on protection. The Three Major Types Of Weapons Of Mass Destruction There are three major types of weapons of mass destruction and those are nuclear weapons, biological warfare agents, and chemical warfare agents. These weapons share their potential for large–scale destruction and the indiscriminate nature of their effects, notably against civilians. WMD's challenges our peace and security here in the United States. There is a strategy for dealing with weapons of mass destructions, and it is the three pillars, which are counter proliferation, nonproliferation, and WMD consequence management. The United States has tried to stop other countries; however, it has gotten to a point that if the United States is attacked with nuclear weapons, then the U.S. will use WMD as a response to the attack. When it comes to weapons of mass destruction in the possession of hostile countries and even terrorists, it is one of the greatest security challenges facing the United States. The first strategy to combat WMD is counter proliferation to combat WMD use, counter proliferations are fully integrated into the basic doctrines, in trainings, and even equipping of all forces, since it is important for the U.S military and appropriate agencies to be prepared to deter and defend against any possible WMD event. With strengthened nonproliferation to combat WMD proliferation, in order to prevent states from acquiring WMD and missiles, we must enhance diplomacy, arms control, multilateral agreements, threat reduction assistance, and export controls. That is to slow and make it more costly to access sensitive technologies, materials, and expertise. In addition, the laws and treaties that are consistently violated by Iran for years, are the treaty of the non–profeliration of nuclear weapons, because they developed a nuclear program that is without the consent of the IAEA. They also has held into chemical agents and acculturated their chemical stockpile. In the other hand, North Korea has yet to give up its nuclear weapons, and North Korea has violated the obligations to the IAEA, by actively developing nuclear weapons. A glove from one firm may not have the same chemical resistance as a glove that appears to be an identical glove made by another firm (12). There are many variations of gloves available today to protect from hazards, however nature of hazard and the operation will have an impact on the selection of the gloves (10). OSHA's hand protection guideline indicates some factors that impact the selection of protective gloves used in a workplace: types of chemicals handled, nature and duration of contact, area requiring protection (hand only, forearm, arm), grip requirements, thermal protection, size and comfort and abrasion/resistance requirements (10). In some instances, companies tend to adapt a technique called "double gloving" which is the overlapping of two pairs of gloves, one over the other (12). When worn, it affords a double layer of protection (12). If the outer glove starts to degrade or tears open, the inner glove continues to offer protection until the gloves are removed and replaced (12). • 43. What Does Holden's Hat Symbolize In the novel, Catcher in the Rye, by J.D. Salinger, one of the most significant symbols is the main character, Holden Caulfield, red hunting hat. His hat represents his protection from the world, adulthood, and his different characteristics. He often will not wear it in front of other people because it alienates him from the normal crowd. Holden recognizes that he is different from people; yet, he tries to cover that up, usually using his red hunting hat. Throughout the novel, Holden's hat hides his unique perspectives and helps him to feel protected from both the world and adulthood. To begin with, Holden's red hunting hat is a symbol for his protection against the world. The first time that he uses his hat to make him feel secure is when his roommate, Stradlater, punches Holden in the face. His initial thought after he is punched, is to find his hat. He most likely thinks of this because his hat provides a sense of comfort for him, similar to a young child and their blanket. "I couldn't find my my goddam hunting hat anywhere, Finally I found it. It was under the bed. I put it on, and turned the old peak around to the back, the way I liked it, and then I went over and took a look at my stupid face in the mirror (Salinger 45). • 57. The Veil and Persepolis Essay In Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi the main character, Marjane, lives in Iran and is required, by fear of punishment, to wear a veil that only leaves her face uncovered. Having to wear a veil is portrayed as an insult to women's rights. However in the article "Why We Wear the Haijab," by Sumayyah Hussein, Sumayya Syed says the veil "'liberates you from the media'" (p118) It is also seen as a form of protection from judgment and western influences. The women interviewed in the article tell of the benefits of wearing the veil and see it as an honor instead of an insult, like in Persepolis. The veil is part of Iran's culture. To de–emphasize a women's body and to gain respect as a person, the veil is worn to protect from the judgments forced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When required to wear the veil Marjane was exceeding in school, had a close relationship to god, and was actively concerned about the political standings in Iran. She had a lot of friends at school, where she wore the veil, and was happy and well adapted. The veil protected Marjane from being negatively influenced and distracted. At fourteen Marjane is sent to Austria to study, where she loses herself and strays away from her culture. She is exposed to things that, in her culture, are forbidden and looked down upon. When not wearing the veil she almost instantly gives into peer pressure. She fits in and has friends, but learns quickly that they won't be there for her in her time of need. In "Why We Wear the Hijab" Hana Tariq points out that "'people who are friend with you because of the way you look aren't real friends.'" (p118) wearing the veil helps create a uniform removing any judgment made based on material objects or appearance. She rejects the veil and all the morals that go along with it. In Iran the veil helped protect Marjane from distractions in the media, the same distractions that exist in Austria. The longer the media influenced her, the harder it was for her to gain respect from peers and adults alike. When Marjane hits rock bottom in she moves back to Iran and lives with her parents. • 61. Methods of Identifying Hazards Health and Safety in a workplace What is a hazard? A hazard is any way damage, harm or anything affecting health at work. Hazards can be caused by any health effects or by organizations as property or equipment. What is a risk? A risk is if a person has a change that they will be harmed due to a hazard. Factors that can affect the risk are; how much the person has been affected by the hazard and how severe the effects were. Evaluate the Risk: For evaluating the risk, the hazards have to be spotted first. By law you have to do everything "reasonably practicable" to stop anyone in the workplace from getting an injury while using equipment. For example when using a pillar drill a plastic transparent cover could be used to protect the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For adequate PPE employees should wear equipment they have chosen so they are more comfortable with wearing the PPE, also must be good quality equipment because the products will last longer and be more reliable. Employees must be trained on how to use the equipment and to explain why it's needed, and how important the protection is. For example on a construction site a safety helmet is needed because in case of falling objects flying overhead, added extras can be added to a safety helmet such as goggles to protect eyes also. Also equipment such as protected boots with the steel toe caps and penetrate resistant materials, this is good on a construction site because can stop items falling and damaging or cutting the employees feet, also can be used with the correct sole to stop slips at work which may cause an injury to the worker. Risk Assessments: The first step of any risk assessment is to evaluate the hazards, depending on what type of work there is, there are many different hazards that needed to be taken into consideration. Also on a construction site it may not always just be the employees getting harmed, it could be the public, contractors or visitors. There are many risks that can happen every day and it is very unlikely to be able to get rid of all the risks from a workplace. The risk assessment should only include what risks are major and can cause a big problem to the workers. In any risk ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 63. Health Safety Environment : The Protection Of The Body... HEALTH SAFETY ENVIRONMENT Brief Introduction Health refers to the protection of the body from illness that may result from interaction with materials for construction, processes, and generally the procedures used in site and field. On the other hand safety refers to the protection of people from any type of physical injury. These two terms are used interchangeably in describing the concern for both the physical and psychological well–being of people, particularly laborers in this instance. I was privileged to be attached for three months in Hydroarch S.R.L Consultants. They were the supervisor of the ongoing Road construction: Eldoret (Maili Tisa) – Webuye road. The main contractor being Maltauro S.P.A. The Consultant had a well–equipped laboratory as well as the contractor. However it was the contractor who ultimately was equipped and its Labour force far much exceeded that of the consultant. Therefore, on both sides, a keen attention towards the handling of equipment in lab to the final execution of work required a health and safety policy to eliminate any adverse risk of injury. A major project like that, any mater arising that would jeopardize the health and safety of the workers would have a detrimental impact on Time, Scope and Budget of the project. The site manager was solely responsible for the safety and health aspects of the workers on field work. The elderly population is indeed becoming victimized on a larger scale than has been seen in the past. This increase is a result of the growing number of seniors living in society with little protection. Perhaps the most compelling part of your article was that of your question "Who is responsible for protecting these individuals?" You pose quite a thought and emotion invoking question and one which I could not help but share ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If a family member is suspected of being the perpetrator of abuse, neglect, or exploitation they should in fact not be involved in the seniors life but otherwise there should be a common sense rule that we look out for our family members. Too often seniors refuse to report abuse, neglect, or crime against them out of fear of losing independence. It is a common misconception that being victimized will deem you unfit to live independently and will result in being placed in a facility of some sort. It is important that seniors feel they can turn to those around them with concerns and incidents that occur. In the event that a senior is not forthcoming with information there are a number of avenues that may involve reporting of suspected incidents. Hospitals, doctors, community service organizations, and long term care facilities can report suspected crimes to authorities or Department of Social Services in an effort to protect the individual. If a senior cannot properly protect themselves then health care professionals from all areas should have the ability to act on behalf of the individual to seek help but not dictate the overall outcome as a result. For example: simply finding that a person has been a victim of exploitation should not mean that a person be moved immediately into a facility forfeiting their right to care for themselves. All facilities acting to protect a senior should aim to preserve senior ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 67. The Use Of Use Of Advertisements On Advertising The Use of Animals in Rhetorical Advertising The use of an owl to sell glasses is perhaps an influence to grab people's attention. Many ads today use animals, and as a result intrigue people to obtain products that companies are demonstrating in their ads. Moreover, the "America's Best" ad uses one fact, the $69.95 price, but supports it with evidence to impress people about their glasses and how the company constructs them. The current television advertisement is depicting an owl promoting "America's Best" glasses to a lady, which conveys the use of rhetoric in prosperous ads. This advertisement portrays the idea of shopping at "America's Best" for eyeglasses. First of all, an owl is perched on the back of a park bench, adjacent to a lady. In addition, the owl's attire includes his eyeglasses from "America's Best", while the lady is wearing glasses from another place. The owl turns to the woman and says "You know you paid too much for those glasses?". Then, the woman responds "Who?". As the conversation continues, the owl keeps ranting about how "America's Best" has a deal for two pairs of glasses for $69.95 and a free eye exam included. Throughout the entire ad, the woman teases the owl about the deal that America's Best is offering by saying "who" repeatedly. Near the conclusion of the ad, the owl catches on to the woman's tactics and he gets frustrated with her habitual use of the question "who?". The ad targets people that wear glasses, since the advertisement ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 69. Catcher In The Rye Isolation Quotes By the end of the novel, Holden learns to accept society for what it is and accept the fact that kids do not necessarily need his protection from society or any of its prejudices, judgements, or expectations. This does not mean that he cannot help them, as he can stay there and be waiting for them to at least reduce the pain undergone due to the aforementioned societal aspects whenever they need his help. After a single day and a deep, meaningful, and serious talk with Mr. Antolini, Holden adapts to fit this role ideally. When he is about to leave for Mr. Antolini's house, Holden "[takes] [his] hunting hat out of [his] coat pocket and [gives] it to [Phoebe]. She likes those kind of crazy hats. She [does not] want to take it, but [he] [makes] her." (Salinger, 198–199). Here, Holden gives the hat to Phoebe in hopes that it will protect her from whatever societal harshness or hardships she undergoes while he is at Mr. Antolini's house. This hunting hat jointly symbolizes protection and isolation. It is a way of isolating oneself from all of the phony people because as Holden himself admits on multiple occasions, it is ugly and displeasing to the eye. This could potentially be a way by which he tries to deter himself from all of the phoniness in the world. One type of phonies are those who take everything at face value, and by wearing this hat, Holden deters at least them. That could even be the reason why he likes this hat so much: the fact that it makes him come into contact ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 76. An Assignment On Suspected Infectious Cases Should Be... 1) Suspected infectious cases should be isolated as an additional precaution. Placing the patient in an isolation ward reduces the chances of contaminating the surrounding environment hence why the patient should be taken through an alternative entrance instead of walking the patient through the entire clinic. Isolation can end up being unnecessary however all suspected infectious cases must be treated as infectious until a diagnosis is performed. Once the Veterinarian has a reasonable suspicion of a disease that may potentially be infectious, client education can be performed. Clients must be aware that animals that are suspected to be potentially infectious must be handled this way to reduce the spread of pathogens or disease and preventing it entering the bodies of other animals in our care. This is where effective communication is vital to ensure the client understands why this is being done. © 2013.
