Factors Of Relationship Compatibility
I was writing about relationships, dating, and stuff like that for a while and what I found most of the time was nothing but questions regarding
relationship mistakes. I have seen most of the people asking about what are the mistakes that we should avoid while in a relationship, how the
beginning of a relationship should be, and is there any relationship compatibility type of thing or not? Keeping most of the queries and questions in
mind, I have collected some of the best factors to look upon when there is a beginning of a relationship happening, relationship compatibility between
two persons, and the relationship mistakes that most of us do which ruin our relationships at an instant.

It is nothing but a complete waste of time and letting go of opportunities. What you should look for are some of the main factors that everybody should
know before proceeding and stepping into the relationship. They are:
Find out whether you like your partner and he/she likes you back.
Find out whether you feel comfortable around your partner and he/she feels the same around you.
Find out whether you can be a knight of your partner and will he/she be the same of not.
And all of the positive factors that you think are worthy enough to be able to trust anybody and love them unstoppable. And once you have found
everything you need to know about your partner and yourself (all the characteristics and capabilities), go ahead and build up a healthy relationship
without checking out onto any zodiac calendar or stuff.
9 Relationship Mistakes That Most Men Do:
No one's ideal, however, it appears there are a few mix–ups that have more analytical results on your adoration relationship than others. Make your

Role of Women in Literature Essay
The Representation of Women in Literature
<br>
<br>The role of women in society is constantly questioned and for centuries women have struggled to find their place in a world that is
predominantly male oriented. Literature provides a window into the lives, thoughts and actions of women during certain periods of time in a fictitious
form, yet often truthful in many ways. Ernest Hemmingway's "Hills like White Elephants", D.H. Lawrence's "The Horse Dealers Daughter" and
William Faulkner's "A Rose for Emily" each paint a picture of awoman who has failed to break away from her male companion, all describing a
stereotypically dominated woman. Through submissive natures, compliant attitudes, and shattered egos the three women each struggle to ... Show more

Her side of the discussion is constantly exasperated as she convinces herself to believe everything he says. Only at one point in the story does her
character appear to think individually of his thoughts, only to immediately retract when summoned. It is at this point in the story that Hemingway
symbolizes her chance for individually and then immediately showing her lack of. She steps into the light, into herself and thinks freely on her
own, only to fall back into what he wants her to believe. "The girl stood up and walked to the end of the station. Across, on the other side, were
fields of grain and trees along the banks of the Ebro. Far away, beyond the river, were mountains. The shadow of a cloud moved across the field of
grain and she saw the river though the trees. "Come on back into the shade," he said". The imagery of both the light and the shade and the parting of
the trees make it seem as though Jig is on the verge of an epiphany and then she retracts assuming his way of thinking, following him back into the
shade. At the end of the story Jig is seemingly content, "I feel fine," she said. "There's nothing wrong with me. I feel fine.", though in reality she is a
docile woman who cannot think or live for herself.

Literary Analysis Of Emily Dickinson's 'To A Heart In Sea'
ID #1 Futile – the winds –
To a Heart in port –
Done with the Compass –
Done with the Chart!
The second stanza of Emily Dickinson's "Wild Nights – Wild Nights!", portrays a sense of romantic longing between the two lovers. In this poem,
there is a nautical type of scenery being displayed, especially in the last two stanzas. This is true because, the second stanza references: compasses,
charts, seas and ports. The first line states, "Futile – the winds", futile meaning pointless. The narrator is stating that no matter how hard the winds
blow, or how rough the seas get, her love is strong and she is not going anywhere. When the narrator says, "To a Heart in port", it kind of creates a
setting of a lovers embrace. Every woman desires to be sought after and longed for. The narrator is no longer searching for love, because she has
found love, therefore her heart is in port or it is docked. The narrator talks about how she is done with the compass and with the chart in the last
two lines. She is giving up all control for this person, she is free to love and to be loved. She does not need a compass or a chart because she is not
looking for anything anymore. She has found her love and her voyage is now over. She has found her "Wild Night".
ID #4they don't fit into little petty places, these hips are free hips. Lucille Clifton's "homage to my hips," is all about women's empowerment.
Throughout the poem, we see this reoccurring symbol of "hips." Clifton is talking about women's hips in general, not just hers. The "hips" in this
poem symbolize how strong and powerful women are. How women can accomplish anything if they set their mind to it. These three lines talk
about how not every woman has a perfect body and how each of them are different. These hips do not fit into society's standards for women. These
hips are different, not perfect, but they are beautiful in their own way, "they don't fit into little petty places." In the poem it says, "these hips are free
hips" which explains how women are free to make their own decisions. They are free to have whatever kind of body type they want, without being
shamed for being different. Clifton uses the imagery of the hips to show how women are huge role models for

My Life At Van De Walle Architects
On November 22nd, 2016 my father drove me downtown to my job shadow. The morning was cold and the traffic was heavy. But above all, I was
shaking with excitement. I was to shadow at Van De Walle Architects. It was a small firm, with just seven total people employed. Mr. Van De Walle
started the business in Sioux Falls in 1972. Now the firm is on the 2nd floor in a business district in downtown Sioux Falls. Upon my arrival at Van
De Walle Architects I spoke with a Katy Krantz. Her official tittle was a ProjectArchitect and had been with the firm for 8 years. She graduated from
North Dakota State University and was showing me her latest project at the time of my shadow, a Hilton Garden Hotel in North Dakota. Mrs. Krantz

Once I was acquainted with the layout of the office I met Brad Dietzenbach. Mr. Dietzenbach was the main Partner at the firm. He dealt with client
relations and overseeing the other Architects. I spent the rest of my day with Brad. At first he asked me what interested me about being an
Architect and asked if I had thought about colleges. This spurred an hour long conversation about NDSU and Iowa State University. He explained
to me that the only thing they don 't teach you in high school is the codes. This is when he led me to a large book case full of binders upon binders.
He explained to me how they have codes to follow for different buildings and how that can sometimes be the hardest part of the job. He said each
binder had to do with a different building type. They had codes relating to plumbing and window heights. They also had codes for Handicap
accessible rooms and buildings. I would definitely have to say this was my least favorite part. Not because it was boring but because the
overwhelming weight all these books put on my shoulders perhaps scared me for my future having to deal with these codes. At this time it was
roughly 10:30. Mr. Dietzenbach had a job site visit with a client at 11:00 a few blocks over. So Brad and I, plus another Architect whose name I
never got, walked the three blocks to the job site. On our walk over they explained that it was a

A Room With A View Literary Merit Essay
A Room With a View Literary Merit I as a reader enjoy reading, however I do not do it as often as I would like. I always have trouble starting books,
I would say that the first five to chapters are the hardest to get through. I admire how with reading you are able to make your own depiction of
what's happening, instead of seeing what others envisioned. To me a great book must have twists and turns to keep me interested. I love being
able to get to know the characters, feeling as if they are apart of your own life, being able to see them as almost a friend in your own life. Taking
their life lessons and putting them to use in your own. I like more romantici books where they have to get over many obstacles to obtain their great
love. I also enjoy reading about a character who is able to turn their troubles around and become better than they once were. As a little girl I was
always read to; I wish that I read more on my own when I was younger. I think it would have helped me get over the whole "trouble starting a book"
phase. I do see myself growing though. I praise older romantic/ coming of age books with their complexity, symbolism, and messages, they have a
certain personality that I adore reading. Finding books like these make me enjoy reading a lot more than I did, say six years ago. Literary merit to me
would be described as the ability to read a book from the age of 15 to 90 and still enjoy it (you may change meaning with in those years or look at it in

My Favorites Of Monisha As A Show On Indian Television
This was hands down one of the best sitcoms that ever aired on Indian Television. We loved each and every character from this series. My personal
favorite of all was Maya S. The character was so classy, sophisticated and oh so perfect! She would never leave a chance to mock Monisha with her
sarcastic comments. And we know that those middle class comments were often intended as a joke. We as a population from that middle class category
never felt that the comments were derogatory in any sense.
Like Manisha, I mean Monisha had a sarcastic mother in law, we too similarly have either a sarcastic parent, sibling, friend, relatives or colleague.

If they set out to make you look bad or foolish then be it. Tell the person that they are wasting their valuable time over ridiculing an incompetent person,
and they wouldn't benefit from it anyway. And who knows, they might just discontinue their practice.
4)Now, there are some people who think they are smart and use sarcasm to get noted among their peers. So what you can do in this situation is ask
people around you to acknowledge their special talent and give a standing ovation, and if no one gets up to clap, then you could tell that smarty pants
that they need to work hard on their talent in order to get recognized.
5)Lastly, if someone criticizes you on your clothes or something that you are regular with, for instance, you probably have seen K3G, where Kareena
is seen poking fun at her fellow college mate's top wear and walks off saying tumhe kaafi suit karta hai. Well, if you too face a similar situation, what
you can do is express your admiration for their keen observational skills. Ask them how they do it everyday without fail? This is surely going to burn
them! And you never know, they might just begin conducting themselves in a better way around

The waves are starting to rise, gaining it strength to do some damage. People on the shore, their eyes had gotten wider as the waves are getting
closer. They had started to panic, quickly gathering their things and holding their love ones' hand, tightly, so they won't get captured by the waves.
Scouting like little fire ants, looking for homes, shelter, or anything that protects us from this massive waves; however, they realized they're unable
to control the speed. Everything that has been touch by the waves had been diminish, wiping away inch by inch was once our home. The waves
needed prisoners, so they fuel their speed. People had tried to rescue others on the beach, but it was too late, they're now the wave's prisoners.
Capturing dozens of people all at once and dragging them in the sea. They're forever drowning, carrying their sorrow and fear with them. River
flowing down from their eyes to their cheeks as they seeing their love ones is getting sweep away. It's hard to imagine, never thought this day would
come, never thought it would be the last day of seeing their face. But are they really gone or are they trapped? Having my curiosity had me wander;
I didn't realize I was standing in the water for so long. I feel the water rising up to my waist,

Snow's Three Stages
Snow, one of Earth's most beautiful, and ugliest, creations, is a wintertime topic that brings with it mixed emotions, opinions and heated debates.
Some people love it, others not so much. It can bring joy, happiness and laughter, but can bring just as much destruction, danger and misery. When it
first touches the ground, fresh, pure, unaffected, it's like a lovely white blanket that covers our world. However, once it becomes black, mushy and
hard, we get tired of seeing it, hoping the sun melts it all away as soon as possible. It's a cycle which repeats itself over and over again. It's sort of
like a relationship, which, in my mind, consists of three stages. First there's the good times where everything seems to goes right and you're all... Show

Breakfast : The Most Important Meal Of The Day
Breakfast. The most important meal of the day. This is something we all have heard. Eat your breakfast so the day can begin right. Breakfast is
indeed a vital part of the day. However, I personally don't care for breakfast food, I never have. Grits, oatmeal, cream of wheat, etc. have never been
my "thing". I think it is the textures that get to me, or it could just be that I dread getting up earlier than I have to. I am not a morning person at all.
Most of the time I just skip breakfast. I know overall that is not a good thing. I would soon learn just how important it is not to skip this meal one
bitterly cold winter morning. When you live in Michigan you get the luxury of the full winter experience. There is glistening snow on the ground, the
trees are bare and the cold winter wind hits you across the face. Today felt colder than usual nevertheless, it was a typical weekend for me. My mother
dropped me off at the mall. I headed straight to the food court seeing as though I didn't eat breakfast this morning. I am amazed by the Christmas
lights and decorations. Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year. It can't get any better than this. I am craving taco bell, so I walk up to the
counter and proceed to place my order, "Hi
Douglas 2
I would like to get...". Pause. What is happening? I am feeling dizzy. How did I get on a roller coaster? Who is screaming? Why is it so dark?
The lights are so bright now. I am slightly perplexed. I was just ordering a nacho bell

Summary Of ' Chapter Twelve ' Essay
Chapter Eleven "All these words are just a front. What I would really like to do is chain you to my body, then sing for days, days & days."–Hafez The
morning was bright and clear. In other words, a perfect day to return home. Dylan felt awful slipping out of Salim's cabin. He was working on his
papers–Dylan didn't know what exactly, but he was busy writing lists, referring to others, and generally working. There were the usual thirty or so men
on the deck looking to their individual jobs, whether it was seeing to the repair of fishing nets, scrubbing the deck, or winding rope. Dylan stood
watching them for some time, each man moving about industriously under the watchful eye of the captain's first–mate, Ibrahim. Dylan made his way
back to the stern of the ship. He stood looking out at the churning gray–green ocean below. It did not look enticing. In fact, it looked damned cold, but it
was his only way home. Pausing for only a moment to watch the sailors once more, he wondered if he was going to miss them–this ship, this life. No.
He would miss Salim, but that was all. He so desperately wanted to get home. He took a deep breath, and in one leap before he could change his
mind, threw himself overboard. He hit the water with a huge splash. It wasn't a graceful dive, more like a flailing fall. The side of his body and his
head stung where it hit the water, but that was quickly forgotten by the freezing cold, churning water. He opened his eyes to figure out which way was

The Freedom Of The United States
As we all know, freedom is a very meaningful word, and it has a variety expressions and definitions. I can define the word freedom as liberty,
independence, acting spontaneously, expressing yourself with no fears, being positive and making your own choices. All people in the entire world
like to be free with no barrier or any kind of obstacles, emotionally and physically. Human beings deserve to be free and live their life with no
struggles. The most moment I felt entirely free is when I went back home to my country, Morocco, to visit my family after a period living in the U.S.
I personally prefer to be free from any complications, but it's a pretty difficult in our society as a Muslim girl to be permitted to do something
without control. Moreover, we are prohibited for certain things than in the US, for example going at night to have fun with friends or having a
dinner at a late hour. Since I got married, I decided to move and live with my husband because he works and live in the US. In the beginning, it
was a little hard for me to leave my parents and live in a far country than my homeland. However, I realized that I will have a lot of opportunities and
chances in the US such as freedom. There are a lot of situations when I feel completely at liberty while I am living in the US, but at the same time it's
rare when I could feel open and relaxed from all the troubles, for instance, work hard to satisfy my needs and study to achieve my goals and dreams.
Moreover, I don't

West Side Story Play Analysis
West Side Story is about a conflict between two rival gangs, the Jets and the Sharks, which comes to a head when Tony, a former Jets member, and
Maria, the sister of the leader of the Sharks, fall in love. Although the play centers around Tony and Maria, the character of Anita (played by Karli
Dinardo) caught my eye since she revealed her purple dress which was different from the reds of the Sharks and blues of the Jets and I found myself
drawn to her in each scene she was present in. I also found myself drawn to members of the Sharks as I understood the racism they faced from
members of the Jets, Officer Krupke, and Detective Schrank. The characters of Tony andMaria were actually the characters I didn't really like as I saw
them both as selfish. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I found that many of the actors in West Side Story vocals fit well with their characters such as Carly Evans soprano–like voice that seemed so innocent
to the world just like Maria. The orchestra ability to match the emotions of the song or scene was very beneficial in letting the audience know of Tony
and Maria's undying love for each other in "Tonight" through the use of light and upbeat notes or Anita's anger in "A Boy Like That" which uses harsher
notes. The effects of the characters emotions would not have been as evident if the instrumentals they sang along too didn't match the emotions
they felt. Although the play is surrounded by dark themes, there are musical numbers with a tinge of comedic value such as in "America" where
Rosalia praises Puerto Rico through phrases such as "Puerto Rico, you lovely island" and Anita retorts back "Puerto Rico, you ugly island" or
"Gee Officer Krupke" where the Jets are joking as to what to say to Officer Krupke ending the song with "Gee, Officer Krupke. Krup you!". In
many of the musical numbers, there seems to be a kid friendly approach as profanity is nowhere to be found with the replacement of words such as
"Buggin" in the Jet Songs although slurs such as "spic" and "brown boy" fill the script. Besides the musical numbers, there were also sound effects in

Fighting For Love Essay : Fighting For Love
Fighting for Love It was a cold Monday night when two families decided that they didn't want to take care of their kids so they drove to this little
town on the other side of the bridge and just left them alone wandering in the woods. The boy's name was Justin and he was only six years old
they had told him that they would be back but they lied and just took off. Jasmin was only five years old and they told her that they were going to
play hide and seek but they also lied to her. Justin started to walk and look for his parents, but instead he saw Jasmin crying for help and he
decided to help her out. Justin asked Jasmin "What are you doing out here it's so cold here have my jacket" Jasmin, then told him "My parents
said that we were playing hide and seek, but I saw them leave me here all alone". Justin then told her that his parents would come for him, but they
never did so he decided to look for them himself. They both got together to look for their parents it was getting late already and they heard wolves
howling so they decided to walk to the little town to find somewhere to stay and sleep or call their parents. When they got to the little town which
was named Riverdale they started to ask for help, but no one wanted to help out a pair of kids. They started to walk further and they saw this bridge
that had shade so they decided to stay there for the night. As the years pass they decided to give up on finding their parents and started to focus on

Movie My Favorite Movie
I love watching movies. Their ability to transport you to another world for two hours and make you care about people that aren't real is the most
unrecognized form of magic. I'm not a critic, so any movie will do, as long as I'm interested enough to watch it. Many movies stick in my mind,
whether it's a hilarious joke, an awesome fight scene, or simply a unique plot. There is one movie, however, which stands out among them all. Afilm I
had never heard of before viewing called Prisoners. From start to finish, I was invested in the characters and their goals. I felt their fear and
desperation. I was in the movie, not sitting on my living room couch. The movie Prisoners was suspenseful, chilling, and memorable, so there is no
doubt in my mind that it is my favorite movie, and I will likely remember it for the rest of my life. The backbone of any good movie is the story. The
story is the rope that the movie uses to drag you in, to make you feel for the characters, to make you more than a simple movie viewer. Prisoners was
about Keller Dover, an average man with a teenage son and a young daughter. They have friends down the street, another family just like them. Life isn't
perfect, but it's far from anything worth complaining about. Then. the unthinkable happens. The young girl goes missing. From that moment on, both
the police and Keller search for her, but they use methods that are drastically different from each other. This poses a question to theaudience: How far
would you go for the people you love? The way the movie portrayed the desperation of Mr. Dover and the detective assigned to the case was perfect.
As time went on, doubt and fear began to take over the minds of everyone involved. As they mystery was slowly unraveled, many twists and turns
prevented the solution from being obvious. I was constantly thinking about what might have happened, and I was still nowhere near to close. The
emotions felt by everyone who feared for this innocent girl and wondered where she was exploded on the TV screen. It was suspenseful,
heart–wrenching, and everything you could want from a movie. Truly, an excellent story propelled Prisoners into my mind and my heart, more than
earning my favor. Besides a great storyline,

I Am Proud of Who I Am Essay
Ralph Waldo Emerson once said "To be yourself in a world that is trying to make you something else is a great accomplishment". Who am I? is
question that many often struggle to answer, but for me it allows me to differentiate from my constituents and express who I really am. What makes
me such a unique individual is my ability to identify with 5 strong strengths. I love the fact that I am futuristic and I have the ability to relate, I am

Whenever I set a goal, I first ask myself is the goal realistic and reachable and secondly if I am willing to make changes in my life to reach those goals.
While I have several goals there are a few that are imperative to reach. One of them being a counseling center for underprivileged girls ages K–12. As a
victim and an advocate for bullying I want to highlight the situation and teach the girls how to detect signs and how to deal with a bully. I had my
parents to help me but my goal is to target those that don't necessarily receive that attention at home. Self esteem will also is a big topic
surrounding girls in that age group I want to teach them about positive body image and the importance of loving yourself. Obtaining my Ph.D. is
another meaningful goal I intend to achieve; with myself being the first generation from my family to attend a major university I feel the need to

Hills Like White Elephants Analysis
"It is better to be looked over than over looked." –Mae West. Many people overlook the female characters in "A&P" and "Hills Like White Elephants.
People think the main focus is only on the males in the stories or that the female characters are weak. They may have been slightly objectified but they
are certainly not weak. That is one of the main similarities from the two stories. This paper addresses the similarities and differences between the two
short stories.
In either story, they seem to be objectifying women. In "A&P" it is for simply their looks the whole first part of the story is basically all just
Sammy's thoughts on how they look. "With straps pushes off, there is nothing between the top of the suit and the top of her head except just her..."
(Updike, 1963, p. 2). And "She held her head so high her neck, coming out of those white shoulders, looked kind of stretched, but I didn't mind. The
longer her neck was, the more of her there was." (Updike, 1963, p. 2). Sammy clearly thought this girl was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen and
he didn't seem to think the other girls were too bad either because he spent some time describing them too.
In "Hills Like White Elephants" it is more of an objectification of the bodies purpose instead of its appearance. The American man acted like he did not
care at all what she wanted. In either story, there is a discussion about the female body. In "Hills Like White Elephants" the American man did not seem
to care much about

candlelight and the tub was practically spilling over with bubbles that smelled lightly of citrus and maybe geraniums – it was tart and crisp but not girly
or masculine. Seeing the near mess, I guessed that bubbles were not his usual deal. In fact, he had always smelled closer to powder or leather. Soft
and warm, from a shower.
Stepping into the tub, he lowered me in front of him as he sat back and I filled the space between his long legs as they stretched the length of the tub.
"Izzy, let's lay here a moment and then get cleaned up. How are you feeling?" he asked gently, his lips just against my... Show more content on

They were not the brands I used – I didn't even recognize the brands as they were surely not something that could be picked up at the base
commissary. Instead, they were luxurious and I revelled in them as Britton returned from his closet with a soft T and sweats that would surely swamp
me.
Britton was now also donning a pair of sweats, again with that familiar logo. I had to ask.
"So, Barcelona? Tell me."
Taking my hand, he led me to the kitchen and sat on a stoll as he gestured to his fridge. "Feed me, women." His eyes crinkled and his lips turned up
so that I could see offset dimple before he continued.
"I love that team." He admitted and stopped, grinning still. He was still teasing me and I stomped my foot.
"Surely, there is more to it than that?"
"Yes," he admitted, still just staring at me. I could tell he wanted me to push him and was more than happy to oblige.
"Britton, I have shared your table, bed, and bath, and I want to know more. Spill!" For good measure, I stomped my other foot.
"Okay. I do love that team. So did Sean. We both played soccer and had dreams of where that might take us. We were both pretty good but he was
probably better and would have had more options if he hadn't gotten sick."
"Oh, Britton, I didn't mean to make you go here. I'm sorry..." I drifted off as he left his stool and came to me.
Placing his fingers over my lips, he shushed me, "Babe, don't worry, I can talk about him. He and I made

Hills Like White Elephants By Ernest Hemmingway
"Hills Like White Elephants" By Ernest Hemmingway is an interesting piece that consists entirely of an odd conversation between two people sitting
at a train station in Spain, having drinks while they wait on their ride. The couple do not have names, just "The American" and "The Girl" who is also
called "Jig" a time or two by The American. Hemmingway uses these characters and their actions along with the setting and symbolism to paint a
beautiful picture of an untruthful relationship and a secretive "Operation" that brings out the true feelings between an unknown couple. The point of
view of this piece is told from the third person. Almost third person limited as we never get to hear the actual thoughts of any of the characters, making
both of them rather unreliable as we never will know for certain the true intentions either one of them has. At the beginning of the story, the conversation
between these two people seems very strange. Each of them are speaking but it is clear that neither are truly listening to what the other is saying
making it obvious that each has something much bigger on their mind that they know they must address but neither are yet comfortable with bringing
up the topic. This is initially what I figured the hills symbolized when that girl compares them to white elephants. There is definitely an elephant in the
room. A Major problem that must be given attention despite the extreme discomfort it may bring, but the two are not yet comfortable to discuss

Hills Like White Elephants And Jig's Relationship
6.What is the nature of their relationship? Use examples from the text to justify your response. The two characters, the short story "Hills like
White Elephants" by Ernest Hemingway is centred around can be perceived to be close to one another, in some form. This can be inferred from the
passage "'It's really an awfully simple operation, Jig,' the man said. 'It's not really an operation at all.'" where the two talk of the operation used to
induce a miscarriage, a topic that tends to only be breached between trusted individuals; although this excerpt does not determine the nature of their
relationship. However, in tandem with "'And if I do it you'll be happy and things will be like they were and you'll love me?'", it is more likely that...

The style of writing forgoes in–depth characters and background knowledge. However, Jig shows more emotional connections than the unnamed man
in the story. Therefore compelling me to sympathize more with Jig, over the man. Evidence shows that Jig may wish to keep the baby she is carrying
and is only going through with the mentioned abortion in order to please the man, shown in the exert "'That's the only thing that bothers us. It's the
only thing that's made us unhappy.'... 'So have I,' said the girl. 'And afterwards they were all so happy.'" along with "'I know. But if I do it, then it
will be nice again if I say things are like white elephants, and you'll like it?'". Jig also displays a subtle defiance to the man, which proves that there
may be more problems than the story depicts. For example "'I've never seen one,' the man drank his beer. 'No, you wouldn't have.'" My sympathy with
Jig is strongly cemented by the sentence "'I feel fine,' she said. 'There's nothing wrong with me. I feel fine.'" where Jig closes the story with a more
sarcastic response to being well, making me believe that the girl has hit a limit to her willingness to please the

laws that plagued the southern part of the United States at the time (History.com Staff). Early in the story, Hattie is quite clearly a very hopeful

But I think it was faith that bought us together. I mean how weird would it be seeing a complete stranger that you just met on social media two days ago.
So I played dumb acting like I didn't see her. I replied, "You did, when?" we started to talk to each other more asking each other favorite colors,

Somebody has rightly said "Life is a journey" and i completely agree with that person. In fact i believe, life is merely not a single journey, it is
indeed a combination of various small journeys that teaches one or the other thing to a person and leave and ever lasting impact on his or her life.
Today in this article, i am going to talk about one such journey of mine, which was for few hours but have left an everlasting impact on my mind

Christians Have All Of God
Christians have certain responsibilities to uphold in order to call themselves 'Christians'. To be a said, 'Christian', is not simply believing in God,
but having a devoted relationship with him and living every aspect of life with the all omnipotent creator as the center. Throughout my life I have
fallen short of these expectations again and again in a cycle we call, sin. However, God forgives this sin daily with such grace and mercy. I believe
God will use my sin, my life, in ways that I can not even begin to fathom, to further his kingdom. This past summer I served as a counselor at a
local christian camp. During my first week of counseling I met a boy named Blake. Blake was the sort of kid who walked into indoor registration
with his shades on, sleeves rolled up and bandanas plastered on his arms and legs. The kid that everyone warned you about, the kid nobody
wanted. I observed at Blake that first day and felt a sense of empathy and compassion. I remember seeing this kid at previous camps. The kid that
came from a broken home, a rough neighbourhood or simply had a tough teacher. The one that everyone wanted to avoid, despite being in a
'Christian' camp. During quiet devotion time on the second day, I took the station Blake had lumped himself into. He had sunk himself down into a
bag of balls so you could barely see his small body as he snickered in rebellion. His other friends play basketball and giggle at him. I walk in and they

"Lucian", he replies. In a haze of hashish smoke, I down another cup and we part ways, looking out the window as the faithful emerge into the
streets and the beat of life resumes. I button up my new coat and head downstairs. As fate would have it, a taxi is awaiting me in the alleyway.
"Where to", he asks in broken english. I realize that I had not acquired any address. "Do you know of a place called Art Bar", I ask, and he gives
me a rather coy smile and begins to drive, as though he had ventured there a thousand times before. We drive some distance. The phosphorus glow
of the city becomes smaller and smaller until we drive in darkness. With some hesitation I ask if we are still in the city, and he mutters something
unintelligible, which does little to placate my growing concerns. We finally arrive at a sparsely populated town square a small back ally. The taxi

the level. I notice nobody seems to be about which concerns me since its not even 8pm. I pay the driver and he topples off. I walk around looking
for anything denoting this "Art Bar". Finally, in a corner to my left, under a railing and a few stairs, sits a small red sign. "The Artisan Bar". I blush

Persuasive Essay On Parents At Home With Your Senior
The advice I am about to give you parents is priceless. It might fix any conflicts that may occur at home with your senior. You need to listen
carefully. Take notes. Lots of notes. Everyone knows that you want be that parent with the honor student. You know, the one that drives around
with that sticker on their mini van. Don't deny it. Well, as a fellow senior, ill give you the key to making your child good enough to brag to all
your friends about. All parents care about their child's GPA ... am I right? when approaching the seriousness of GPA with your senior you need to
lay down the rules. Make sure that you turn your beautiful house into a prison of sorts. Your child needs to be told that they can not leave the
house at any point in time (except for school) unless their GPA is well above a 4.0. I mean an average GPA is obviously not acceptable. While
your senior might get angry at this, explain to them over and over that you just care about their future. Making your child sit in a room for hours
doing unnecessary busy work will most definitely make them the star student you have always dreamed of parenting. Remember, no friends and/or
social life is the best for your child. Grades are the only thing that matter. Technology is a huge part of students lives nowadays. Especially seniors.
They have basically grown up in the era of new technology. Thats if you have let them have any. Remember that technology has completely ruined your
senior and that you need to remove all

The man sat down in the old and decaying chair, his physique stiff with anxiety. It didn't take a penny to see how frightened he was, Emme saw

laugh rang in his ears, a sound like a pot boiling over with an accompanying shrillness that set your teeth on edge. His hands were shaking as he

questions to Emme, praying that he would walk away from this interview with his sanity still intact. "So...Emme...," his voice came out faltering and
weak, cracking like when he went through puberty. The man hesitated before starting again; he could feel Emme smiling in amusement even without
looking. "Why did you do what you did?" He dared look up her when he asked her this, and instantly regretted it. Her crazed smile opened wider than

What Is Self Confidence Is Belief Within Oneself And...
What is self–confidence, "self–confidence is belief in oneself and in one 's powers and abilities." (Merriam–Webster) Most people will tell you that no
one can change the way they view themselves, and that their self–confidence is high. Most of those people have not experienced someone close to
them or significant speaking or treating them negatively and making them feel less than or unsure of themselves. Usually the person that can make you
feel the most self–conscious are those that are close to you, but others are more than capable to doing so as well. Those people will say and do little
subtle things that will make you second guess your abilities or how you look or carry yourself. Sometimes it is just one comment or a series of
comments that lead up to the feelings up uncertainty and extreme self–consciousness of the things that would once go unnoticed. The comments start
off small, and you try to ignore them, or people may act a certain way towards you to make you feel uncomfortable. The worst experience I have
ever had is when I was met with the negative opinions of someone I was madly in love with. Just because they say that they love you does not mean
that they will not say or do things that will hurt you or make you feel self–conscious. At times this can be due to jealousy or wanting to keep you
feeling bad to make themselves feel better about themselves.

My Family Group Essay
I belong to many different primary and secondary groups. Some of the primary groups I belong to are, my family group, my close friends and my
religious beliefs. I also belong to many secondary groups. They are my distant family relatives, my workplace and my classmates. In my family group
the members include my mother, Amanda McDougall, my father, Chris Lee, my brother, Jayden Lee and myself, Mackenzie Lee. I love every
member in this group with all my heart. Every member also has a very important role and if one member wasn't to pull their weight then the group
would fall apart. My mother's role that she partakes in the group, is doing all the motherly chores, such as cleaning the dishes, washing our
clothes, sweeping, mopping, etc. She also always makes sure that my brother and I are clean, healthy and most importantly happy. My mother is
the most important member in the group in my opinion. If she is even gone for a few hours, the house could be completely clean when she leaves,
and by the time she gets back it is a disaster! I greatly appreciate everything my mother does for my brother and I. She doesn't act like a mother,
more like a friend. I feel comfortable to talk to her about anything and I don't know what I would do without her. She is the strongest person I know.

Role of Women in Hemmingway's Hills like White Elephants,...
Role of Women in Hemmingway's Hills like White Elephants, Lawrence's The Horse Dealers Daughter and Faulkner's A Rose for Emily The role of
women in society is constantly questioned and for centuries women have struggled to find their place in a world that is predominantly male oriented.
Literature provides a window into the lives, thoughts and actions of women during certain periods of time in a fictitious form, yet often truthful in
many ways. Ernest Hemmingway's "Hills like White Elephants", D.H. Lawrence's "The Horse Dealers Daughter" and William Faulkner's "A Rose for
Emily" each paint a picture of a woman who has failed to break away from her male companion, all describing a stereotypically dominated woman.

By doing this Hemingway succeededs in creating a character who cannot be respected but is instead pitied. In a discussion, with her American lover,
Jig comments about the hills surrounding them, comparing them to white elephants, only for him to tell her that what she is saying is wrong. Rather
than defend something that is her own opinion she changes the subject and later apologizes for saying it in the first place.
""They look like white elephants", she said.
"I've never seen one," the man drank his beer.
"No, you wouldn't have."
"I might have," the man said. "Just because you say I wouldn't have doesn't prove anything.""
..........................
"They're lovely hills," she said. "They really don't look like white elephants. I just meant the coloring of their skin through the trees."
Jig's main objective throughout the story is ensuring that her partner is happy. This is apparent when she tells him that she will go through with the
abortion. "Then I'll do it. Because I don't care about me." "And I'll do it and then everything will be fine." Through these comments it is evident that
she truly believes if she has an abortion their relationship will be fine giving little thought to the emotional and physical trauma the procedure will
cause. Jig's subservient attitude is indicative of her low self esteem throughout the story. She allows herself to be shaped by a man whose care for her
is more than obviously not a reciprocation of hers for

In a matter of fact, home is a noun that is defined in the –Collins New School Dictionary as firstly, the place where you live, secondly, the place where
you were born or you feel you belong. On the other hand, the dictionary also defines it as a place where people are looked after. The first meaning of
the word home would not apply to me as I only have lived in Dubai, The United Arab Emirates for four years as compared to the seven years in
Marseille, France. Although I hail from Algeria, a country in the North of Africa, yet I yearn for my home in Marseille. The last characterization of the
word home is not relevant either. So only the second definition is the most adapted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Every single area of my home has a history for me as I learned there how to walk, played games in front of the parking behind the shady trees, took
part in football games in front of the grey towering buildings with my friends and many more childhood memories I still cherish. There is also my
family and relatives who played an important part in my understanding of the word home. A herd of birds were migrating, unperturbed, towards the
south. Every bird in the group felt comfortable until a bird went astray and by accident started flying in the opposite direction. I see myself as this bird
that has parted its company and is feeling forlorn.
Recently I moved to an imposing five–bedroom house with a large garden surrounding it. There is also a terrace that overlooks the garden and a path
leading to the swimming pool and gymnasium as well as the Jacuzzi and a big courtyard where we play table tennis. Attached to our villa there is a
garage where we can park both our cars and Jet Ski easily. The garden has various kinds of fragrant flowers of all colours and palm trees. Our garden
also has a barbecue, wooden chairs and tables. My house has a small quarter where a maid lives. As we enter the house there is a small corridor leading
to the lounge covered with carpets, low Arabic sofas and a

Factors Of Relationship Compatibility

  • 1. Factors Of Relationship Compatibility I was writing about relationships, dating, and stuff like that for a while and what I found most of the time was nothing but questions regarding relationship mistakes. I have seen most of the people asking about what are the mistakes that we should avoid while in a relationship, how the beginning of a relationship should be, and is there any relationship compatibility type of thing or not? Keeping most of the queries and questions in mind, I have collected some of the best factors to look upon when there is a beginning of a relationship happening, relationship compatibility between two persons, and the relationship mistakes that most of us do which ruin our relationships at an instant. Relationship Compatibility + Beginning of a Relationship: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is nothing but a complete waste of time and letting go of opportunities. What you should look for are some of the main factors that everybody should know before proceeding and stepping into the relationship. They are: Find out whether you like your partner and he/she likes you back. Find out whether you feel comfortable around your partner and he/she feels the same around you. Find out whether you can be a knight of your partner and will he/she be the same of not. And all of the positive factors that you think are worthy enough to be able to trust anybody and love them unstoppable. And once you have found everything you need to know about your partner and yourself (all the characteristics and capabilities), go ahead and build up a healthy relationship without checking out onto any zodiac calendar or stuff. 9 Relationship Mistakes That Most Men Do: No one's ideal, however, it appears there are a few mix–ups that have more analytical results on your adoration relationship than others. Make your marriage a win by staying away from these relationship mistakes/ traps. Consideration of Same ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Role of Women in Literature Essay The Representation of Women in Literature <br> <br>The role of women in society is constantly questioned and for centuries women have struggled to find their place in a world that is predominantly male oriented. Literature provides a window into the lives, thoughts and actions of women during certain periods of time in a fictitious form, yet often truthful in many ways. Ernest Hemmingway's "Hills like White Elephants", D.H. Lawrence's "The Horse Dealers Daughter" and William Faulkner's "A Rose for Emily" each paint a picture of awoman who has failed to break away from her male companion, all describing a stereotypically dominated woman. Through submissive natures, compliant attitudes, and shattered egos the three women each struggle to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Her side of the discussion is constantly exasperated as she convinces herself to believe everything he says. Only at one point in the story does her character appear to think individually of his thoughts, only to immediately retract when summoned. It is at this point in the story that Hemingway symbolizes her chance for individually and then immediately showing her lack of. She steps into the light, into herself and thinks freely on her own, only to fall back into what he wants her to believe. "The girl stood up and walked to the end of the station. Across, on the other side, were fields of grain and trees along the banks of the Ebro. Far away, beyond the river, were mountains. The shadow of a cloud moved across the field of grain and she saw the river though the trees. "Come on back into the shade," he said". The imagery of both the light and the shade and the parting of the trees make it seem as though Jig is on the verge of an epiphany and then she retracts assuming his way of thinking, following him back into the shade. At the end of the story Jig is seemingly content, "I feel fine," she said. "There's nothing wrong with me. I feel fine.", though in reality she is a docile woman who cannot think or live for herself. <br> <br>D.H. Lawrence presents a similarly inferior character ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Literary Analysis Of Emily Dickinson's 'To A Heart In Sea' ID #1 Futile – the winds – To a Heart in port – Done with the Compass – Done with the Chart! The second stanza of Emily Dickinson's "Wild Nights – Wild Nights!", portrays a sense of romantic longing between the two lovers. In this poem, there is a nautical type of scenery being displayed, especially in the last two stanzas. This is true because, the second stanza references: compasses, charts, seas and ports. The first line states, "Futile – the winds", futile meaning pointless. The narrator is stating that no matter how hard the winds blow, or how rough the seas get, her love is strong and she is not going anywhere. When the narrator says, "To a Heart in port", it kind of creates a setting of a lovers embrace. Every woman desires to be sought after and longed for. The narrator is no longer searching for love, because she has found love, therefore her heart is in port or it is docked. The narrator talks about how she is done with the compass and with the chart in the last two lines. She is giving up all control for this person, she is free to love and to be loved. She does not need a compass or a chart because she is not looking for anything anymore. The "hips" in this poem symbolize how strong and powerful women are. How women can accomplish anything if they set their mind to it. These three lines talk about how not every woman has a perfect body and how each of them are different. These hips do not fit into society's standards for women. These hips are different, not perfect, but they are beautiful in their own way, "they don't fit into little petty places." In the poem it says, "these hips are free hips" which explains how women are free to make their own decisions. They are free to have whatever kind of body type they want, without being shamed for being different. Clifton uses the imagery of the hips to show how women are huge role models for ... • 4. My Life At Van De Walle Architects On November 22nd, 2016 my father drove me downtown to my job shadow. The morning was cold and the traffic was heavy. But above all, I was shaking with excitement. I was to shadow at Van De Walle Architects. It was a small firm, with just seven total people employed. Mr. Van De Walle started the business in Sioux Falls in 1972. Now the firm is on the 2nd floor in a business district in downtown Sioux Falls. Upon my arrival at Van De Walle Architects I spoke with a Katy Krantz. Her official tittle was a ProjectArchitect and had been with the firm for 8 years. She graduated from North Dakota State University and was showing me her latest project at the time of my shadow, a Hilton Garden Hotel in North Dakota. Mrs. Krantz explained to me ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once I was acquainted with the layout of the office I met Brad Dietzenbach. Mr. Dietzenbach was the main Partner at the firm. He dealt with client relations and overseeing the other Architects. I spent the rest of my day with Brad. At first he asked me what interested me about being an Architect and asked if I had thought about colleges. This spurred an hour long conversation about NDSU and Iowa State University. He explained to me that the only thing they don 't teach you in high school is the codes. This is when he led me to a large book case full of binders upon binders. He explained to me how they have codes to follow for different buildings and how that can sometimes be the hardest part of the job. He said each binder had to do with a different building type. They had codes relating to plumbing and window heights. They also had codes for Handicap accessible rooms and buildings. I would definitely have to say this was my least favorite part. Not because it was boring but because the overwhelming weight all these books put on my shoulders perhaps scared me for my future having to deal with these codes. At this time it was roughly 10:30. Mr. Dietzenbach had a job site visit with a client at 11:00 a few blocks over. So Brad and I, plus another Architect whose name I never got, walked the three blocks to the job site. • 5. A Room With A View Literary Merit Essay A Room With a View Literary Merit I as a reader enjoy reading, however I do not do it as often as I would like. I always have trouble starting books, I would say that the first five to chapters are the hardest to get through. I admire how with reading you are able to make your own depiction of what's happening, instead of seeing what others envisioned. To me a great book must have twists and turns to keep me interested. I love being able to get to know the characters, feeling as if they are apart of your own life, being able to see them as almost a friend in your own life. Taking their life lessons and putting them to use in your own. I like more romantici books where they have to get over many obstacles to obtain their great love. I also enjoy reading about a character who is able to turn their troubles around and become better than they once were. As a little girl I was always read to; I wish that I read more on my own when I was younger. I think it would have helped me get over the whole "trouble starting a book" phase. I do see myself growing though. I praise older romantic/ coming of age books with their complexity, symbolism, and messages, they have a certain personality that I adore reading. Finding books like these make me enjoy reading a lot more than I did, say six years ago. Literary merit to me would be described as the ability to read a book from the age of 15 to 90 and still enjoy it (you may change meaning with in those years or look at it in a different ... • 6. My Favorites Of Monisha As A Show On Indian Television This was hands down one of the best sitcoms that ever aired on Indian Television. We loved each and every character from this series. My personal favorite of all was Maya S. The character was so classy, sophisticated and oh so perfect! She would never leave a chance to mock Monisha with her sarcastic comments. And we know that those middle class comments were often intended as a joke. We as a population from that middle class category never felt that the comments were derogatory in any sense. Like Manisha, I mean Monisha had a sarcastic mother in law, we too similarly have either a sarcastic parent, sibling, friend, relatives or colleague. If they set out to make you look bad or foolish then be it. Tell the person that they are wasting their valuable time over ridiculing an incompetent person, and they wouldn't benefit from it anyway. So what you can do in this situation is ask people around you to acknowledge their special talent and give a standing ovation, and if no one gets up to clap, then you could tell that smarty pants that they need to work hard on their talent in order to get recognized. 5)Lastly, if someone criticizes you on your clothes or something that you are regular with, for instance, you probably have seen K3G, where Kareena is seen poking fun at her fellow college mate's top wear and walks off saying tumhe kaafi suit karta hai. Well, if you too face a similar situation, what you can do is express your admiration for their keen observational skills. Ask them how they do it everyday without fail? They had started to panic, quickly gathering their things and holding their love ones' hand, tightly, so they won't get captured by the waves. Scouting like little fire ants, looking for homes, shelter, or anything that protects us from this massive waves; however, they realized they're unable to control the speed. Everything that has been touch by the waves had been diminish, wiping away inch by inch was once our home. The waves needed prisoners, so they fuel their speed. People had tried to rescue others on the beach, but it was too late, they're now the wave's prisoners. Capturing dozens of people all at once and dragging them in the sea. • 8. Snow's Three Stages Snow, one of Earth's most beautiful, and ugliest, creations, is a wintertime topic that brings with it mixed emotions, opinions and heated debates. Some people love it, others not so much. It can bring joy, happiness and laughter, but can bring just as much destruction, danger and misery. When it first touches the ground, fresh, pure, unaffected, it's like a lovely white blanket that covers our world. However, once it becomes black, mushy and hard, we get tired of seeing it, hoping the sun melts it all away as soon as possible. It's a cycle which repeats itself over and over again. It's sort of like a relationship, which, in my mind, consists of three stages. First there's the good times where everything seems to goes right and you're all... • 9. Breakfast : The Most Important Meal Of The Day Breakfast. The most important meal of the day. This is something we all have heard. Eat your breakfast so the day can begin right. Breakfast is indeed a vital part of the day. However, I personally don't care for breakfast food, I never have. Grits, oatmeal, cream of wheat, etc. have never been my "thing". I think it is the textures that get to me, or it could just be that I dread getting up earlier than I have to. I am not a morning person at all. Most of the time I just skip breakfast. I know overall that is not a good thing. I would soon learn just how important it is not to skip this meal one bitterly cold winter morning. When you live in Michigan you get the luxury of the full winter experience. There is glistening snow on the ground, the trees are bare and the cold winter wind hits you across the face. Today felt colder than usual nevertheless, it was a typical weekend for me. My mother dropped me off at the mall. I headed straight to the food court seeing as though I didn't eat breakfast this morning. I am amazed by the Christmas lights and decorations. Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year. It can't get any better than this. I am craving taco bell, so I walk up to the counter and proceed to place my order, "Hi Douglas 2 I would like to get...". Pause. What is happening? • 11. Summary Of ' Chapter Twelve ' Essay Chapter Eleven "All these words are just a front. What I would really like to do is chain you to my body, then sing for days, days & days."–Hafez The morning was bright and clear. In other words, a perfect day to return home. Dylan felt awful slipping out of Salim's cabin. He was working on his papers–Dylan didn't know what exactly, but he was busy writing lists, referring to others, and generally working. There were the usual thirty or so men on the deck looking to their individual jobs, whether it was seeing to the repair of fishing nets, scrubbing the deck, or winding rope. Dylan stood watching them for some time, each man moving about industriously under the watchful eye of the captain's first–mate, Ibrahim. Dylan made his way back to the stern of the ship. He stood looking out at the churning gray–green ocean below. It did not look enticing. In fact, it looked damned cold, but it was his only way home. Pausing for only a moment to watch the sailors once more, he wondered if he was going to miss them–this ship, this life. No. He would miss Salim, but that was all. He so desperately wanted to get home. He took a deep breath, and in one leap before he could change his mind, threw himself overboard. He hit the water with a huge splash. It wasn't a graceful dive, more like a flailing fall. The side of his body and his head stung where it hit the water, but that was quickly forgotten by the freezing cold, churning water. • 12. The Freedom Of The United States As we all know, freedom is a very meaningful word, and it has a variety expressions and definitions. I can define the word freedom as liberty, independence, acting spontaneously, expressing yourself with no fears, being positive and making your own choices. All people in the entire world like to be free with no barrier or any kind of obstacles, emotionally and physically. Human beings deserve to be free and live their life with no struggles. The most moment I felt entirely free is when I went back home to my country, Morocco, to visit my family after a period living in the U.S. I personally prefer to be free from any complications, but it's a pretty difficult in our society as a Muslim girl to be permitted to do something without control. Moreover, we are prohibited for certain things than in the US, for example going at night to have fun with friends or having a dinner at a late hour. Since I got married, I decided to move and live with my husband because he works and live in the US. In the beginning, it was a little hard for me to leave my parents and live in a far country than my homeland. However, I realized that I will have a lot of opportunities and chances in the US such as freedom. There are a lot of situations when I feel completely at liberty while I am living in the US, but at the same time it's rare when I could feel open and relaxed from all the troubles, for instance, work hard to satisfy my needs and study to achieve my goals and dreams. Moreover, I don't ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. West Side Story Play Analysis West Side Story is about a conflict between two rival gangs, the Jets and the Sharks, which comes to a head when Tony, a former Jets member, and Maria, the sister of the leader of the Sharks, fall in love. Although the play centers around Tony and Maria, the character of Anita (played by Karli Dinardo) caught my eye since she revealed her purple dress which was different from the reds of the Sharks and blues of the Jets and I found myself drawn to her in each scene she was present in. I also found myself drawn to members of the Sharks as I understood the racism they faced from members of the Jets, Officer Krupke, and Detective Schrank. The characters of Tony andMaria were actually the characters I didn't really like as I saw them both as selfish. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I found that many of the actors in West Side Story vocals fit well with their characters such as Carly Evans soprano–like voice that seemed so innocent to the world just like Maria. The orchestra ability to match the emotions of the song or scene was very beneficial in letting the audience know of Tony and Maria's undying love for each other in "Tonight" through the use of light and upbeat notes or Anita's anger in "A Boy Like That" which uses harsher notes. The effects of the characters emotions would not have been as evident if the instrumentals they sang along too didn't match the emotions they felt. Although the play is surrounded by dark themes, there are musical numbers with a tinge of comedic value such as in "America" where Rosalia praises Puerto Rico through phrases such as "Puerto Rico, you lovely island" and Anita retorts back "Puerto Rico, you ugly island" or "Gee Officer Krupke" where the Jets are joking as to what to say to Officer Krupke ending the song with "Gee, Officer Krupke. Krup you!". In many of the musical numbers, there seems to be a kid friendly approach as profanity is nowhere to be found with the replacement of words such as "Buggin" in the Jet Songs although slurs such as "spic" and "brown boy" fill the script. • 15. Movie My Favorite Movie I love watching movies. Their ability to transport you to another world for two hours and make you care about people that aren't real is the most unrecognized form of magic. I'm not a critic, so any movie will do, as long as I'm interested enough to watch it. Many movies stick in my mind, whether it's a hilarious joke, an awesome fight scene, or simply a unique plot. There is one movie, however, which stands out among them all. Afilm I had never heard of before viewing called Prisoners. From start to finish, I was invested in the characters and their goals. I felt their fear and desperation. I was in the movie, not sitting on my living room couch. The movie Prisoners was suspenseful, chilling, and memorable, so there is no doubt in my mind that it is my favorite movie, and I will likely remember it for the rest of my life. The backbone of any good movie is the story. The story is the rope that the movie uses to drag you in, to make you feel for the characters, to make you more than a simple movie viewer. Prisoners was about Keller Dover, an average man with a teenage son and a young daughter. They have friends down the street, another family just like them. Life isn't perfect, but it's far from anything worth complaining about. Then. the unthinkable happens. The young girl goes missing. From that moment on, both the police and Keller search for her, but they use methods that are drastically different from each other. This poses a question to theaudience: How far would you go for the people you love? The way the movie portrayed the desperation of Mr. Dover and the detective assigned to the case was perfect. As time went on, doubt and fear began to take over the minds of everyone involved. As they mystery was slowly unraveled, many twists and turns prevented the solution from being obvious. I was constantly thinking about what might have happened, and I was still nowhere near to close. The emotions felt by everyone who feared for this innocent girl and wondered where she was exploded on the TV screen. It was suspenseful, heart–wrenching, and everything you could want from a movie. Truly, an excellent story propelled Prisoners into my mind and my heart, more than earning my favor. Besides a great storyline, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 18. Hills Like White Elephants Analysis "It is better to be looked over than over looked." –Mae West. Many people overlook the female characters in "A&P" and "Hills Like White Elephants. People think the main focus is only on the males in the stories or that the female characters are weak. They may have been slightly objectified but they are certainly not weak. That is one of the main similarities from the two stories. This paper addresses the similarities and differences between the two short stories. In either story, they seem to be objectifying women. In "A&P" it is for simply their looks the whole first part of the story is basically all just Sammy's thoughts on how they look. "With straps pushes off, there is nothing between the top of the suit and the top of her head except just her..." (Updike, 1963, p. 2). And "She held her head so high her neck, coming out of those white shoulders, looked kind of stretched, but I didn't mind. The longer her neck was, the more of her there was." (Updike, 1963, p. 2). Sammy clearly thought this girl was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen and he didn't seem to think the other girls were too bad either because he spent some time describing them too. In "Hills Like White Elephants" it is more of an objectification of the bodies purpose instead of its appearance. The American man acted like he did not care at all what she wanted. I am guessing I most have dozed briefly as his en suite was now filled with soft candlelight and the tub was practically spilling over with bubbles that smelled lightly of citrus and maybe geraniums – it was tart and crisp but not girly or masculine. Seeing the near mess, I guessed that bubbles were not his usual deal. In fact, he had always smelled closer to powder or leather. Soft and warm, from a shower. Stepping into the tub, he lowered me in front of him as he sat back and I filled the space between his long legs as they stretched the length of the tub. • 21. Hills Like White Elephants By Ernest Hemmingway "Hills Like White Elephants" By Ernest Hemmingway is an interesting piece that consists entirely of an odd conversation between two people sitting at a train station in Spain, having drinks while they wait on their ride. The couple do not have names, just "The American" and "The Girl" who is also called "Jig" a time or two by The American. Hemmingway uses these characters and their actions along with the setting and symbolism to paint a beautiful picture of an untruthful relationship and a secretive "Operation" that brings out the true feelings between an unknown couple. The point of view of this piece is told from the third person. Almost third person limited as we never get to hear the actual thoughts of any of the characters, making both of them rather unreliable as we never will know for certain the true intentions either one of them has. At the beginning of the story, the conversation between these two people seems very strange. Each of them are speaking but it is clear that neither are truly listening to what the other is saying making it obvious that each has something much bigger on their mind that they know they must address but neither are yet comfortable with bringing up the topic. This is initially what I figured the hills symbolized when that girl compares them to white elephants. There is definitely an elephant in the room. The two characters, the short story "Hills like White Elephants" by Ernest Hemingway is centred around can be perceived to be close to one another, in some form. This can be inferred from the passage "'It's really an awfully simple operation, Jig,' the man said. 'It's not really an operation at all.'" where the two talk of the operation used to induce a miscarriage, a topic that tends to only be breached between trusted individuals; although this excerpt does not determine the nature of their relationship. To be a said, 'Christian', is not simply believing in God, but having a devoted relationship with him and living every aspect of life with the all omnipotent creator as the center. Throughout my life I have fallen short of these expectations again and again in a cycle we call, sin. However, God forgives this sin daily with such grace and mercy. I believe God will use my sin, my life, in ways that I can not even begin to fathom, to further his kingdom. This past summer I served as a counselor at a local christian camp. During my first week of counseling I met a boy named Blake. Blake was the sort of kid who walked into indoor registration with his shades on, sleeves rolled up and bandanas plastered on his arms and legs. The kid that everyone warned you about, the kid nobody wanted. I observed at Blake that first day and felt a sense of empathy and compassion. I remember seeing this kid at previous camps. The kid that came from a broken home, a rough neighbourhood or simply had a tough teacher. The one that everyone wanted to avoid, despite being in a 'Christian' camp. During quiet devotion time on the second day, I took the station Blake had lumped himself into. "Do you know of a place called Art Bar", I ask, and he gives me a rather coy smile and begins to drive, as though he had ventured there a thousand times before. We drive some distance. The phosphorus glow of the city becomes smaller and smaller until we drive in darkness. With some hesitation I ask if we are still in the city, and he mutters something unintelligible, which does little to placate my growing concerns. We finally arrive at a sparsely populated town square a small back ally. The taxi ceases, and the driver tells me this is it. I pay the driver and he topples off. I walk around looking for anything denoting this "Art Bar". Finally, in a corner to my left, under a railing and a few stairs, sits a small red sign. "The Artisan Bar". I blush as I realize I've been saying the wrong name for the entirety of the day. I find the door. Its heavy and made of steel, like something from a twenties style ... • 29. Persuasive Essay On Parents At Home With Your Senior The advice I am about to give you parents is priceless. It might fix any conflicts that may occur at home with your senior. You need to listen carefully. Take notes. Lots of notes. Everyone knows that you want be that parent with the honor student. You know, the one that drives around with that sticker on their mini van. Don't deny it. Well, as a fellow senior, ill give you the key to making your child good enough to brag to all your friends about. All parents care about their child's GPA ... am I right? when approaching the seriousness of GPA with your senior you need to lay down the rules. Make sure that you turn your beautiful house into a prison of sorts. Your child needs to be told that they can not leave the house at any point in time (except for school) unless their GPA is well above a 4.0. I mean an average GPA is obviously not acceptable. While your senior might get angry at this, explain to them over and over that you just care about their future. Making your child sit in a room for hours doing unnecessary busy work will most definitely make them the star student you have always dreamed of parenting. Remember, no friends and/or social life is the best for your child. Grades are the only thing that matter. Technology is a huge part of students lives nowadays. Especially seniors. They have basically grown up in the era of new technology. Thats if you have let them have any. Remember that technology has completely ruined your senior and that you need to remove all ... • 30. A Short Story : A Story? The man sat down in the old and decaying chair, his physique stiff with anxiety. It didn't take a penny to see how frightened he was, Emme saw this even with her old, shrunken eyes. The man was facing her, but not looking at her. He reminded her of a shameful child who's afraid to tell their parents that they broke a lamp while playing baseball in the house. Emme had a curious soul, but had no need to wonder why the man was nervous. After all, she was declared insane after she murdered fifteen people in a fire. Emme started to laugh at the man, who was shaking like a dog during fireworks. His face was ashen and he didn't have the stomach to look at Emme's cold and psychotic eyes, or her stiff, rigid body. Emme's laugh rang in his ears, a sound like a pot boiling over with an accompanying shrillness that set your teeth on edge. His hands were shaking as he opened his notepad full of scribbled questions from his dreams. Faint and colorless, his hand lifted the notepad to the light so that he could read the questions to Emme, praying that he would walk away from this interview with his sanity still intact. "So...Emme...," his voice came out faltering and weak, cracking like when he went through puberty. The man hesitated before starting again; he could feel Emme smiling in amusement even without looking. "Why did you do what you did?" He dared look up her when he asked her this, and instantly regretted it. Her crazed smile opened wider than humanly possible and laughed a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. What Is Self Confidence Is Belief Within Oneself And... What is self–confidence, "self–confidence is belief in oneself and in one 's powers and abilities." (Merriam–Webster) Most people will tell you that no one can change the way they view themselves, and that their self–confidence is high. Most of those people have not experienced someone close to them or significant speaking or treating them negatively and making them feel less than or unsure of themselves. Usually the person that can make you feel the most self–conscious are those that are close to you, but others are more than capable to doing so as well. Those people will say and do little subtle things that will make you second guess your abilities or how you look or carry yourself. Sometimes it is just one comment or a series of comments that lead up to the feelings up uncertainty and extreme self–consciousness of the things that would once go unnoticed. The comments start off small, and you try to ignore them, or people may act a certain way towards you to make you feel uncomfortable. The worst experience I have ever had is when I was met with the negative opinions of someone I was madly in love with. Just because they say that they love you does not mean that they will not say or do things that will hurt you or make you feel self–conscious. At times this can be due to jealousy or wanting to keep you feeling bad to make themselves feel better about themselves. At the age of eighteen I was just beginning my life, at the time I decided to put off college and go straight ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If she was going to move past the affair she wanted to know why it happened, so it would never happen again. The only way to get those answers was to force his hand. Make him spill the beans. As expected Chuck was waiting in his truck when she arrived, only Kyle wasn't on her arm. She wanted the joy she saw in Kyle's eyes, the knowledge that things were working out. Her marriage had to survive this. She walked into the house without acknowledging him, but she left the front door open. He followed her inside. Once her coat and shoes were removed she turned to face him. His eyes were big saucers of green as he ate in her appearance. "You look amazing. I also belong to many secondary groups. They are my distant family relatives, my workplace and my classmates. In my family group the members include my mother, Amanda McDougall, my father, Chris Lee, my brother, Jayden Lee and myself, Mackenzie Lee. I love every member in this group with all my heart. Every member also has a very important role and if one member wasn't to pull their weight then the group would fall apart. My mother's role that she partakes in the group, is doing all the motherly chores, such as cleaning the dishes, washing our clothes, sweeping, mopping, etc. She also always makes sure that my brother and I are clean, healthy and most importantly happy. My mother is the most important member in the group in my opinion. If she is even gone for a few hours, the house could be completely clean when she leaves, and by the time she gets back it is a disaster! I greatly appreciate everything my mother does for my brother and I. She doesn't act like a mother, more like a friend. I feel comfortable to talk to her about anything and I don't know what I would do without her. She is the strongest person I know. My father also has a major role in the group. Role of Women in Hemmingway's Hills like White Elephants, Lawrence's The Horse Dealers Daughter and Faulkner's A Rose for Emily The role of women in society is constantly questioned and for centuries women have struggled to find their place in a world that is predominantly male oriented. Literature provides a window into the lives, thoughts and actions of women during certain periods of time in a fictitious form, yet often truthful in many ways. Ernest Hemmingway's "Hills like White Elephants", D.H. Lawrence's "The Horse Dealers Daughter" and William Faulkner's "A Rose for Emily" each paint a picture of a woman who has failed to break away from her male companion, all describing a stereotypically dominated woman. Rather than defend something that is her own opinion she changes the subject and later apologizes for saying it in the first place. ""They look like white elephants", she said. "I've never seen one," the man drank his beer. "No, you wouldn't have." "I might have," the man said. "Just because you say I wouldn't have doesn't prove anything."" .......................... "They're lovely hills," she said. "They really don't look like white elephants. I just meant the coloring of their skin through the trees." Jig's main objective throughout the story is ensuring that her partner is happy. This is apparent when she tells him that she will go through with the abortion. "Then I'll do it. Because I don't care about me." "And I'll do it and then everything will be fine." Through these comments it is evident that she truly believes if she has an abortion their relationship will be fine giving little thought to the emotional and physical trauma the procedure will cause. Jig's subservient attitude is indicative of her low self esteem throughout the story. She allows herself to be shaped by a man whose care for her is more than obviously not a reciprocation of hers for

Essay about What Home Means to Me What Home Means to Me In a matter of fact, home is a noun that is defined in the –Collins New School Dictionary as firstly, the place where you live, secondly, the place where you were born or you feel you belong. On the other hand, the dictionary also defines it as a place where people are looked after. The first meaning of the word home would not apply to me as I only have lived in Dubai, The United Arab Emirates for four years as compared to the seven years in Marseille, France.
