Instructions for Subscription update and License upgrades
TFCompanion subscription and license information is encrypted in the USB
dongle that you receive with the purchase of the software. Subscription update and
License update procedures are similar: in both cases you receive a password protected
archive file and, at the first step, you need to extract the content of this archive in the
<TFCompanion_ installation >init directory (the default directory on Windows is
“C:TFCompanioninit”). But there are some differences as described below.
Subscription update
1. Extract the content of the provided archive file in
<TFCompanion_installation>init directory on your computer (default directory
on Windows is C:TFCompanioninit).
2. Start TFCompanion and select Help/Update Subscription from the main menu
3. Exit and restart TFCompanion. You can check subscription information in the
Help/About (Registration tab) – it should be updated.
License upgrade
Note. For license upgrade one needs to register “profile” of the computer on which the
license upgrade will be done. After upgrade the USB dongle can be used on any
computer. To create profile, select Help/Register from the main menu and fill the form.
Please mail generated “profile” file to leo@semiconsoft.com (it is recommended to zip
the “profile” to avoid corruption). The profile information will be used to generate license
update.
1. Extract the content of the provided archive file in
<TFCompanion_installation>init directory on your computer (default directory
on Windows is C:TFCompanioninit).
2. Start TFCompanion and select HelpUpgrade version.
Note. If Upgrade menu item is deactivated (“grey”) – this means that some of the
files are missing in the init directory: check the step 1 to make sure all the archive
files were extracted in the correct location. (there are 3 files: registry, license_key
and maintenance.lic).
3. Exit TFCompanion and restart it. You can check license information in the
Help/About (Registration tab) – it should be updated.
