This document provides troubleshooting steps to address Final Fantasy XIV crashes, including checking for security conflicts with game files, unregistering and reregistering DLL files, using a quick-fix tool to diagnose system configurations, turning off Windows Aero features, and modifying display settings such as anisotropic filtering. 2. Check Security Conflicts with Game Files
 Right click Computer icon on Desktop, select Properties.
 Click “Advanced system settings” link.
 Click Settings button (Performance).
 Click Data Execution Prevention tab.
 Select second radio option named “Turn on DEP for all programs and services
except those I select”.
 Click Add button. Locate following file:
 C:Program Files (x86)SquareEnixFINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm
RebornGameffxiv.exe
 Click OK twice.

3. Unregister and Reregister File
 Press Windows Key + X.
 Select Search.
 Type “Command Prompt”
 Click Apps icon.
 Open the keyword from Search Results page.
 Execute below commands:
 CD C:WindowsSystem32
 RegSvr32 –u nvd3dum.dll
 RegSvr32 nvd3dum.dll
 Restart your system.

4. Use a Quick-Fix
 Download Reginout System Utilities.
 Install and run the program.
 Diagnose problems with your game system configurations, incorrect DLL/
ActiveX file reference entries.

5. Turn Off Windows Aero Feature
 Right click an empty area of your Desktop screen, choose Personalize.
 Select default Windows theme. For earlier operating system, select Windows
Basic theme.
 Exit the dialog.

6. Modify Display Settings
 Double click Nvidia Control Panel desktop icon.
 Click Manage 3D Settings.
 Click Program settings.
 Click Add button.
 Locate the following file:
 C:Program Files (x86)SquareEnixFINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm
RebornGameffxiv.exe
 Turn on “Anisotropic Filtering” feature.
 Click the OK button.
