Highlights of Accomplishments:
• Completed a reliability demonstration contract valued at $200K through effective reliability testing on a
customer-supplied PCB with incorrect solder paste—supported a marketing team; generated test plans
and costs as well as consulted with the product development team on defining supplier specifications
for component packages.
• Collaborated with development engineers to create an innovative FPCA stiffener design that minimized
flexible printed circuit bias force to the actuator motion—earning a design disclosure award.
• Saved IBM over $2 millions and met critical product release schedule by developing an alternate lower
cost Ceramic magnet for the 3380 Voice Coil Motor instead of Alnico magnet which was in short supply.
• Met critical product development milestone (Alpha Release) by Developed and delivered an important
water injection module prototype within three months (without prior technology experience) and earned
a corporate award for efforts.
• Saved several HDD production schedules by developed a self-aligning flexible bumbled cable (FBC)
solder joint pull tester, which largely improved solder joint quality and reliability. Facilitated the
collection of FBC solder joint peel strength data with minimum error and was recognized by the director
for saving the company from “disaster.”
