Employees Performance with special reference to SKF Elixer Pvt.Ltd.

Introduction
 Training can be introduced as a simple method for supporting a person for
enhancing his efficiency and effectiveness to a particular job by getting more
information and practice
 Training is also important to employees to increase their knowledge, skill and
abilities.
 For an association, training and development program are important as well
as it also helps in increasing organizational growth.
 Training and development concern with the organizational activities which are
aimed to improving individual and group performance in organization. It is
also known as Employees development, Human resource development,
Learning and development
 Training and development helps employees to develop their personal and
organizational skill, knowledge and abilities of the employees
 A soundly trained and developed staff will be always plus point to the organization, it
also helps in increasing employee effectiveness and efficiency and also helps in
increasing profitability and productivity of organization
Objectives of study
1) To study effectiveness of training and development.
2) To study the different training and development method incorporated by the
organization.
3) To study the need of training and development for employees.
4) To know the impact of training and development on employee performance.

1) The study is undertaken to know how effective the manufacturing industries training
and development program is
2) The study covers whole aspects such as understanding effectiveness of training in
increasing the employee performance and how it helps in increasing the productivity
and profitability of the organization
3) The study mainly focus on the satisfaction of employees regarding the training and
development program conducted by the organization and how training and
development programs helps in achieving the organizational goals with special
reference to SKF Elixer.
Need for study
1) Training and development program is necessary in organization today, because
employee has to be updated with new skill, technology and knowledge and it also
helps in increasing the employee performance.
2) Training is necessary for individual to development and progress of employee, which
motivates employee to work in organization apart from money.
3) An employee needs to be updated with the market trends, the chances in the
employment policies and other procedures so training is necessary to the employees.
4) Training and development leads to individual and organizational change and this
cycle go on and on. More specifically technological change that is influencing the
need for training and development program in organization.
Research methodology
Primary Data
 Primary data is a firsthand data, which collected through questionnaire, observation,
discussion with the employees.
Secondary Data
 The sources of “Secondary data” are the books, internet magazines and internal
manuals and circulars of the company.

Convenience sampling
 Filing up of structured questionnaire, and discussion with respondents

 Total employees working in the organization is 88
Limitations of the study
 Due to busy schedules of employees it was difficult to interact with them.
 Employees were less responsive as the data was collected during the working
hours, they were busy.
 The response may be influenced by personal bias.
 Employees were reluctant to give correct information

 Manufacturing industries are the industry which involve in manufacturing and
dispensation of product and they help in creation of new commodities or in value
addition.
 The manufacturing industry has a significant share in the industrial sector in
developed and in developing countries. The final product can either serves as a
finished goods for sale to customers or as intermediate goods used in production
process.
 The Indian manufacturing sector has the potential to increase the employment
opportunities and also helps in reducing the poverty by shifting the majority of the
workforce out of the low wage agriculture.
 Manufacturing industries are the backbone of an economy. It helps in growth,
productivity employment and strengthens agriculture and service sector. Indian
manufacturing sectors is successfully competing in global market place.

 Sri Kalikamba Fabricators Elixer India PVT. LTD (SKF Elixer Pvt. Ltd) is an
integral part of India’s growing manufacturing industry

 SFK Elixer is only company in India which is designs and manufactures entire
range of water purifiers for various purposes like –domestic, institutional and
commercial modes.

educational institutions and commercial institutional
 The Elixer brand of water purifiers cum coolers, heaters are incorporating RO
and UV purifying technology, have already conquered the market

Moodbidri, Karnataka, India

the designing, manufacturing and marketing of food grain especially paddy,

Elixer offers a ultra modern three stage ultra violet regular water purification system to provide a drinking
water that’s free from bacteria and viruses, using the latest technological innovations.
Comfy:
The ultra modern Elixer comfy has technological innovations that make it a state of the art UV water
purifier that is more advanced than traditional purifier. In the purifier high powered 11 watt UV lamp is
use for purification. The comfy is computer controlled, auto on and auto off facility is provided. It has a
capacity to store 7ltrs of water.
Marvel:
This is also a computer controlled water purifier. This marvel helps in removing dissolved impurities like
fluorides, pesticides, rust and kills bacteria and viruses and ensures 100% pure drinking water.
Water cooler with inbuilt purifiers:
Elegant:
This kind of water cooler with inbuilt purifiers is useful for offices, educational intuitions, hotel,
hostel and factories. Elegant provides purified drinking water from own source of water. This is
available in various models. It serves pure drinking water to 100-1000 people.

their customers. That’s why company is ranking number one position in the market. Moreover, this

WEAKNESS:
1) Lack of safety measures to the working employees
2) Company is not concentrating much on advertisement
3) The policy of the company can be little more effective especially in the safety field
4) No CC cameras in the entrance
5) Some employees are not having good rappo with the supervisors
6) Lack of cleanliness in the premise

 Training helps in increases the knowledge and skill of the employees in doing their particular job
 Training is the deliberate effort made the company to employee in learning the job related
competencies, which contain knowledge, skill, behavior and attitude of employees
 The main aim of training is to master the employee’s knowledge and skill, so they can apply them
in their day to day activities
 Training helps in filling space between job requirement and present ability of an employee. It is a
continuous or never ending procedure
 Training is a short term process
 Development is systematic process were employee are trained for long term process and it is an
organized procedure by which the employees learn theoretical and academic knowledge
 Training helps the individual in preparing them to meet their upcoming job and development of
person in all prospects.

1) To give a basic knowledge and skill required for efficient performance of new employees and to
define their task.

Types of training:
Orientation training
 Orientation training is called as induction training.
 These training helps newly appointed employees to know the organization better.
 Every new appointed employee need to fully know with job, superior and subordinate and they
must also know the rules and regulation of the organization.
Job training:
 Job training is the training provide to the employee with the view to increase the knowledge and
skill of them, for purpose of improving the performance on the job.
 Here in these training employees are thought the correct method of handling machine and
equipments
Safety training:
 This type of training is providing to reduce the accident and damage to the machines in the
organization.
 Safety training is usually given to the employee at the production department to reduce the accident
rate
Refreshment training:
 When existing technology becomes outdated, at that time employees need to train for the better
technique to deal with machine, employees need to be updated with new technological development.
 These refreshment training is planned to restore the knowledge and update the skill of the
employees.
Promotional training:
 This type of training is given to employee to take higher responsibility, staff who are selected from
the top authorities are given training before their promotion, so they can find easy in performing
their job and also take responsibility of their new position.
Remedial training:
 This type of instruction is given to the staff to overcome the shortcoming in the behavior and
perform. For these some experienced employee are picked and given this kind of training.
Method and technique of training:
On the job training:
 This is training system in which employee are trained under the supervision of the supervisor, here employee learn from
observing others.
Coaching:
 In this trainee are placed under particular supervisor who will coach the trainee in his activity. These supervisors provide
feedback to the trainee after seeing his performance and also gives suggest improving his performance.
Job rotation:
 In this method a trainee will be move from one work to another. Here learner receives a job information and experience
of each different job. In these system trainee can know the problem of employee of other job position.
Apprenticeship:
 Apprenticeship training is training usually given for the duration of 6 month to 2 years, used the supervision of the
supervision. Here trainee are paid less than that of what they are qualified.
Multiple training:
 Here in this method employee are encouraged to work in group to increase the flow of idea form less experienced
manager and to train the position of great responsibilities.
Demonstration:
 Here in this method the instructor or administrator will describe how to do the particular work. Here step by step details is

 These is the method in which trainee learn outside the job and involves whole time in learning.
Class room training:
 Classroom training is the off the job training method provided in company class room or in educational
intuitions. These methods are suitable for teaching concept and problem solving skill. In classroom
training employees are theoretical concept of safety training program and other.
Role play:
 Training is conducted in organization to improve the interpersonal skill of the employee. Here in this
training trainee are given a certain change. Such as production manager, mechanical engineer and other to
which they have act as given character.
E-learning:
 Now electronic technologies are widely used in every organization for training. E-learning method
includes training through internet, intranet, virtual classroom and satellite broadcaster etc.
Conference:
 It is the technique were group of people put-on their ideas and share fact, idea and data. Here
assumption and draw conclusion, which add to the development of the job performance.
Internship training:
 Internship training is training which helps in providing good balance between theory and practice. It
requires long period of time, because of slow process, usually these type of training are used in
professional work
CONCLUSION:
 Organization and employee need to develop continuously for it survival in this
competitive world and it must try to attain its goals. So every organization should
concentrate on the development of human resource who is working in the
organization. Training must be given to employees to increase their skill, knowledge
and help them to increase their level of performance so it could benefit both
organization and employees.
 In an organization training reinforces human resources planning. In the age of
industrial transform and global competitiveness, organizations are constantly
necessary to renew and update skills of their people or else they are likely to meet the
problem of manpower obsolescence, which among others will call for regular
downsize.
 SKF Elixer has experienced reliable and competent employees. The organization
feels a need for development of the employees through training. So training is
needed to fill up the gap by increasing and imparting new skill, awareness, attitude;
behavior etc. of the employees and this would help in the betterment of the
organization. Thus, the efforts of the SKF Elixer to improve the performance levels
will help in the coming days.
