2. CAMERA WORK
At the beginning of the video it starts with a long shot of
people walking thorough a forest. This set the location of the
video and also gives out an adventurous and eerie feel to the
video.
Also at the beginning of the video, there is a tracking shot,
which is following the group of teenagers through the forest.
Doing this allows the audience to feel like there are apart of
the video and that they are a part of the journey.
3. CAMERA WORK
Another type of camera work is a close up, in this particular
video there are lots of them, however they are of many
things, for example, the artists, which is very conventional,
the teenagers faces, and lastly of the feet, when its the
dancing section.
By having the close ups of the teenagers faces, it allows us
to see what they look like but also see the facial expression
which all look like they are particularly upset, as if to say the
darkness is there weakness. You know this because when it
get it gets to the brighter sections you can see the difference
in their faces.
4. CAMERA
WORK
Then, there were long shots, and mid shots which were also shown at
a low angle . This is to show the importance of the artist.
Finally there was a shallow focus, on the artist, this particular use of
the camera it used in a couple of the shots in this music video
5. EDITING
The pace of the editing starts off slow but as the song
continues that pace starts to picks up.
In some sections of the video, there are black and white
effects or have a coloured tinge, in particular when the
group are in the park.
And finally, there is the use of slow motion, this is used
when the dance sections are shown.
6. MISE-EN-SCENE
The location of the video is in a few places; forest, on roads, and in a park.
The costumes that are used for the artist are very glamorous however they
are in dark colours, reflecting the lighting and make the shot alot brighter.
And the costumes for the extras, are dark gothic clothing however they are
very fashionable. The use of the dark clothing is to make the bright lights
sound out against the clothing and make the beams of light the focus when
shown.
7. MISE-EN-SCENE
The lighting that was used throughout was mostly low
key lighting, however there were moments of bright
beams of lighting, whether it’s from a car’s head light or
from the sun, however whenever the light is shown it is
the main focus.
