2. INTRODUCTION
Labour saving devices are tools
or appliances used to save both
time and energy of the
homemaker. They are helpful
because they save energy,
money and time in several ways.

3. TOASTER
Is used to expose various types of
sliced bread to radiant heat
browning the bread so it becomes a
toast. It is also used for prolonging
the life of the bread.
CARE AND STORAGE
Brush out the crumb tray once a
week and wipe the exterior
everyday. You can use a toothbrush
to clean the inside.
Put the toaster on top of a chopping
board because of the heat. After use
put it on the counter to keep it safe
from rodents and breeding bacteria

4. SQUEEZER
Is used to extract juice from
lemons, oranges, grapes and
other citric fruits
CARE AND STORAGE
Clean the squeezer after every
use and once dried up put it in
the cupboard

5. BLENDER
Is used to emulsify, liquify or
puree food. It can be used to
make juices and milkshakes.
CARE AND STORAGE
Clean the blender immediately
after use and do not immerse it
in water or rinse it under
running water
Keep the blender in a dry place

6. STEAMER
It is used for cooking various
foods using steam with the help
of the boiling water.
CARE AND STORAGE
Wash with cloth moistened in
solution of mild detergent and
warm water. Rinse with a fresh
cloth moistened with warm
water.
Stack the baskets inside each
other and drain the water before
storing it

7. PRESSURE COOKER
Is an airtight cooking device that cooks quickly thanks to the
steam pressure that builds up inside. It is used to cook slow
cook dishes because it is faster, saves energy and saves
tons of time.
CARE AND STORAGE
Avoid leaving food inside the pressure cooker overnight to
avoid heavy duty cleaning the next day and discoloration. Do
not use abrasives or metal scouring pads when cleaning it.
Dry the pressure cooker completely before storing away

8. FOOD PROCESSOR
It is a versatile kitchen appliance that
can be quickly and easily chop, slice,
shred, grind and puree almost any
food.
CARE AND STORAGE
All removable pieces of the food
processor can be washed in warm
water with a mild dish soap. Clean it
after every use
Store it in a drawer or cabinet

9. HAND WHISKER
It is used for whipping cream or eggs,
mixing cake batter and coolie dough and
make things like icing and salad
dressings.

Wipe it with a damp cloth and dry with a
soft cloth. Ensure that cords are not
dangling in or near water.

10. ELECTRIC SKILLET
Is aa versatile cooking appliance
that is suitable for pan-frying,
sauteing, roasting, steaming.
CARE AND STORAGE
Use a soapy sponge and a little
water to get rid of any grease or
leftover food. Clean and rinse the
skillet

11. RICE COOKER
Is an electronic appliance designed
for cooking rice easily and quickly
while also being able to keep it
warm until consumption. It can
cook other grains including quinoa
or barley.
CARE AND STORAGE
Remove the parts of the rice
cooker, clean them and let them
dry. Clean the inside. Make sure to
clean after every use to keep it
working for a long time. Put in a
cabinet once cleaned.

12. CONCLUSION
The labour-saving devices
reduces time and energy and
they also improve the work being
done. Most of these devices
need immediate care after every
use to prolong their lifespan.
