 The co-operative society is a voluntary association
of persons.
 Co-operative is a form of organisation where in
persons voluntarily associate together as human
begins on the basis of equality for the promotion of
an economic interest for themselves.
 The co-operative society is registered under the co-
operative societies act 1912.
 Co-operative society ten actual persons to form a
society.
 The capital of a society is raised from its members
through issue of shares.

 Registration of a co-operative society is compulsory.
 The liability of the members of a co-operative
society is limited to the content of the amount
contributed by them as capitals.
 In a co-operative society the power to take decision
lies in the hands of an elected managing committee.
 The co-operative society purpose lays emphasis on
the values of mutual help and welfare.
A Co-operative organisation is a voluntary association
of persons who associate together to promote their
common interest. It is an association by poor and
weaker sections to protect themselves against the
exploitation of the economically strong.
To enables the learners to understand about the term
co-operative society and generates various features of
co-operative society general discussion, group
discussion, brainstorming.
Students should have an idea about the concept co-
operative society and its features also it is farm of
business organization.

Phase: I (Introductory phase)
Activity I
After the routine classroom teacher showed same pictures of
co-operative society. Then teacher asked to identify these
pictures, teacher provide same hints on co-operative society.
Students identified the pictures
Activity II: Chart presentation
After identifying these picture by students teacher present a
chart showing the meaning of co-operative society.
Phase: II Developmental Phase
Group Discussion with case situation
The teacher divides the students into different groups and
select a student from each group. The teacher gives a case of
students for discussion.
Situation I
Each for all and all for each” is the moto of a society. In the
inaugural address of a co-operative society, the minister for
co-operation described some good features of a co-operative
society. List out any five important features of a co-operative
society you can recollect.
Students read the chart.
Students actively participate the group discussion.

Co-operative society, co-operative society act, voluntary membership, legal status, limited liability, control service motive.  Co-operative means working together and with others for a common purpose.  The co-operative society is a voluntary association of persons.  Co-operative is a form of organisation where in persons voluntarily associate together as human begins on the basis of equality for the promotion of an economic interest for themselves.  The co-operative society is registered under the co- operative societies act 1912.  Co-operative society ten actual persons to form a society.  The capital of a society is raised from its members through issue of shares.

Concepts Curricular objectives Pre-requisites  The membership of a co-operative society is voluntary  Registration of a co-operative society is compulsory.  The liability of the members of a co-operative society is limited to the content of the amount contributed by them as capitals.  In a co-operative society the power to take decision lies in the hands of an elected managing committee.  The co-operative society purpose lays emphasis on the values of mutual help and welfare. A Co-operative organisation is a voluntary association of persons who associate together to promote their common interest. It is an association by poor and weaker sections to protect themselves against the exploitation of the economically strong. To enables the learners to understand about the term co-operative society and generates various features of co-operative society general discussion, group discussion, brainstorming. Students should have an idea about the concept co- operative society and its features also it is farm of business organization.

Phase: II Developmental Phase Group Discussion with case situation The teacher divides the students into different groups and select a student from each group. The teacher gives a case of students for discussion. Situation I Each for all and all for each” is the moto of a society. In the inaugural address of a co-operative society, the minister for co-operation described some good features of a co-operative society.
