1. This was the first photograph I took for this
photoshoot and from this I changed what I
thought was necessary to get the perfect
shot. From this, I decided that the image
would look better if I took the photos from
a low angle, therefore making the model
look larger and more significant which is
important as the whole purpose of fashion
spreads is to sell the clothes that are
shown.
2. After evaluating the first shot, I took the
images from a lower angle and instructed the
model to move closer towards the middle of
the hot tub and simply put his hands by his
side on the hot tub and take a relaxed
posture. However, when looking at this image
I decided that this posture looked awkward
and unnatural, and the fact that the model is
looking and positioned away from the
audience I believe is very disengaging and
doesn’t look very inviting for the viewers.
3. After deciding I was not a fan of the previous
body posture, I asked the model to sit on the
side of the hot tub and take his feet off the
floor. The idea in mind was good, however, I
was too close to the model when taking this
image and by doing so I cut out the
footwear of the model, which is very unideal
and does not look good what so ever
considering the purpose of fashion spreads
is to show the clothing. However, I liked that
the model was not looking in a direction no
where near the camera and I believe that
either me moving more central or the model
positioning more towards the camera looked
much better.
4. This photograph is very good, as the model is
central which is good when considering the
rule of thirds, all the clothing is shown, the
aperture is ideal and the theme is represent
well, however, I believe this photograph is
very default and boring. Summer should be
represented as happy and positive however I
believe this image does the opposite and is
very dull as there is no angle to the shot, the
model is positioned straight on line with the
camera and the hot tub is very central,
conclusively, I am not a fan of this image as it
does not represent the summer theme well
and is not eye catching what so ever.
5. When considering the negatives about the last image
and keeping in mind the positives, I decided to position
my model facing towards the camera, however did not
put him entirely central and decided to position him
slightly to the left, I simply believe it just looks much
better and less dull when doing so. Also, I made sure
that I kept all the clothing in the shot and in focus but I
moved elsewhere so I could get a better angle of the
hot tub which is not straight on and boring. This angle
shows the model, background and mise en scene very
successfully which is what I aimed to do for the image.
The yellow trunks and blue sky combine together very
well to represent a summer theme and the image as a
whole shows the theme very well.
