Pre – requisites 
· A year is usually divided in four seasons:- Spring, Summer, Autumn, Summer and winter. 
· Reasons behind the change of season are the difference in the availability of sunlight and difference in the length of 
day and night. 
· Summer and spring occurs in hemisphere when the sun shines vertically in that hemisphere. In this season the 
length of the day is more than 12 hours. 
· At the same time other hemisphere where the sun is not vertical experience autumn and winter. 
Northern hemisphere, southern hemisphere, inclination, revolution, axis. 
Seasons 
· Knowledge about seasons. 
· Compare our season with other parts of northern hemisphere. 
· Analyse now the rotation of the earth and inclination of the sun causing the seasons. 
· Interest for studying seasons. 
Chart, globe 
Pupil felt different seasons and they have knowledge about specialities of different seasons.
Classroom Interaction Procedure Pupil’s Response 
Introduction 
· Dear Students, Do you like rain? 
· Will this rainy climate remains for ever? 
· What will be the possible reason? 
· Do we feel the same amount heat or cold round the year? 
· Are you interested in knowing about the reasons behind this? 
Through these questions Teacher enters in to the topic ‘Seasons’ (BB) 
ACTIVITY – I 
The Teacher shows a chart containing the following information 
Pupil find out the different seasons in different months. 
ACTIVITY – II 
The teaching showing a chart consisting of the following picture 
Pupil read the Chart 
Pupil observe the picture 
Pupil find out the answers in group and present it.

Follow up activity 
Write the name of the countries where it is winter season when it is summer in India.

In this season the length of the day is more than 12 hours. · At the same time other hemisphere where the sun is not vertical experience autumn and winter.
