The filmmaker edited their movie using Cyberlink PowerDirector 14. They used slow motion and blending effects for the title, along with low-key and high-key lighting, minor color corrections, and faster cuts for flashback scenes. Dream sequences used a prism effect and black and white for a blurry look. Two overlapping music arrangements added mystery. A website was created using Wix with a template matching the suspense genre. Images and gifs from the movie provided insight into the mystery theme. Film:
I edited my movie using 'Cyberlink powerdirector 14'. For the title of the movie I used
slow motion technique by reducing the speed of the shot per frame and using the
blending options available on cyberlink to give it a smooth look. Throughout the
movie I have used low-key and high key lighting. I made changes in some brightness
and contrast and did a little color correcting. My movie is regular paced except the
scenes where argus Goes into a series of flashbacks ,to show that I have made use of
fast paced editing through fast cuts and increased the speed portraying a chaotic
environment. I used the prism effect & black and white effect for the dream sequence
in my movie giving it a blurry look hence indicating the audience that it is a dream.
For the music of my film I overlapped 2 music arrangements providing a more
mysterious environment.
Website:
I used website called the Wix to create a website based on my film. I selected a
template that complemented my suspense genre. I added images and gifs from my
movie to give an idea of my film being based on mystery suspense. I also made
certain pages on my movie such as rushes, directors blog and film rushes etc.
Post card ad:
To create my post card ad I made use of Adobe Photoshop CS6. The details I added on
my postcard ad include the name of the film, film festival’s name, director/producers
name and the venue and date. As my movie Is based on mystery suspense I made
sure that the theme of my post card ad should be dark and mysterious thus I increased
the shadows of the background which I took during my film shoot and chose a dark
dull picture from my movie.
