Camera angles, shots and movements.
Here are different types of camera angle, shots and movements. A shot basically is a
series of clicks that runs from an interrupted period of time.
Types of Camera shots are:-
1.Extreme Long shot. This shot covers the whole scenery and all things are not visible
clearly.
2. Long Shot. This shot displays a full figure of the object from head to toe.
3. Wide Shot. In this type of shot wide angle lens is used thus covering the whole
scenery.
4. Establishing Shot. This type of shot is a type of long shot used to set up a location or
participant in a movie.
5 Medium Shot, this shot covers the half of the object.
6. Medium close up Shot. In this shot the object is a bit close up and the heads and
shoulders are visible.
7. Close Up Shot. This shot tightly frames a person or an object not including the
background.
8. Extreme Close up Shot, in this shot a detail of the object is only focused to create
suspense e.g. Eye.
9. Birds Eye Shot, Its an elevated view of the object mostly used to establish a shot.
10. Over the Shoulder Shot, a shot which is taken from the shoulder of another person.
11. Point of View Shot, this is a shot which shows the audience what the character is
looking at.
12. Two Shot, this is a shot where two people /Object are visible.
Camera Angles can be defined as a certain point from where a shot is taken. There are
3 types of Camera Angles. The first one is High Angle Shot where the camera is placed
above the eye line. In a low angle shot the camera is placed below the eye line. In a
Eye level camera angle Camera is placed on the same level as the other character in
the film.
There are 4 types of Camera Movement Categories the first one is Panning, In this type
camera is moved on the horizontal axis from left to right. The Tilt Movement is the
movement of camera on the vertical axis from top to bottom. Zoom is another type of
camera movement in this type zoom feature in a camera is used to zoom in or out of the
object. Tracking is the last type of Camera movement in which a dolly and a tripod is
used to shoot for a smooth movement.
