What is communication?
A process aimed at intentional transmission of a message.
In order to do this people use LANGUAGE.
Language can be:
ORAL: We use spoken words.
WRITTEN: We use writing.
VISUAL: We use images.

4. When communicating we do it with an intention, a PURPOSE
PURPOSES of
visual languages
To INFORM: Images are used to convey
faithfully the reality.
To ADVERTISE: Images are used to tell people
about a product, brand, service,
etc.
To EXPRESS: Images are used to communicate
feelings, emotions, beauty, moods
and personal beliefs, etc.
To ENTERTAIN: Images are used to interest and
amuse somebody in order to
please them.
