5. ANTERIOR PITUITARY
• FSH (FOLLICULR STIMULATING HARMONE)
• LH (LUTEINIZING HORMONE)
BOTH ARE RELEASES
IN BLOOD
AND REACH TO THE
TESTES AND OVARY
6. MALE HORMONE
FSH- Acts on Sertoli cells to begin
facilitating spermatogenesis.
LH acts on interstitial cells of Leydig to
make and release testosterone.
9. Negative feedback
INHIBIN HORMONE
• Rising levels of Testosterone
• when the sperm count is too high. The Sertoli
cells produce INHIBIN.
• INHIBIN inhibits the release of GnRH and FSH,
which will SLOW DOWN spermatogenesis
• If the sperm count reaches 20 million/ml, the
Sertoli cells STOPS the release of inhibin, and
the sperm count increases.
13. Estrogen and Progesterone
• Estrogen - proliferation of endometrium lining of
uterus secondary sexual characters in females.
• Progesterone maintain endometrium lining during
pregnancy.
14.
15. LH and FSH
FSH – Follicular development
LH - development of ova, induction of ovulation,
and stimulation of estradiol and progesterone
production by the ovaries.
Estradiol/ estrogen prepare the body for
pregnancy, produces secondary sex
characteristics .
