1000000 ml of water then what is its
concentration in gram per liter????( solve
quickly)

Basic concepts you must know
Nitrogen= 14
Oxygen= 16
Sulfur = 32
Chlorine = 35.5
Potassium = 39
• Qu1. 331 g of lead nitrate contains
207 g of lead then how much lead will
be present in 0.0015 g of lead nitrate?
(use cal. Or mob . If necessary)
Qu2.Amount of potassium sulphate
in 5ml of 0.0181 % k2so4 solution??
Q1. Amount of lead in 0.0015 g 0f lead nitrate ?
Q 2. Amount of sulphate ion in 0.000905 g of
potassium sulphate ?
Q3 . Amount of As in 0.001 g of As2o3 ?
Q4 . Amount of Pb in 0.0001343 g of Pbcl2?
Q5 . 0.0005 g of Fe is present in how many g of

Basic concepts in ppm
• One million = 1000000=10^6
• One billion = 1000000000=10^9
• One trillion = 1000000000000=10^12
• 1(2060). In a sample of 100ml water from a
well 0.0015 g of Pb(no3)2 was found .
What is the concentration of Pb in terms of
ppm? (Atomic weight of Pb(no3)2 is 207)
• 2(2068/8) . In the limit test for sulphate ,
5ml of 0.0181% k2so4 is taken which is
diluted to 100ml, what will be concentration
of SO4 ions in ppm ?
• 3(2069) A sample of water contains 0.001 g
As2O3 per liter . What will be the
concentration of As in terms of ppm and
ppb ? (Atomic wt of arsenic is 75)
• 4(2069/9) In the limit test for lead , 10 ml
solution (containing 0.01343g Pbcl2 per
liter ) was taken . Acetate buffer 2ml and
Thioacetamide reagent 1.2ml were added
and the solution was made upto 50ml . What
is the concentration of Pb in ppm in the
solution ?(mol wt. of Pbcl2 is 278)
• 5.(2071/3). You are required to prepare a
5ppm solution of iron using
FeSO4.7H2O(mol wt 278) , what weight will
you dissolve to make 100ml of solution ?
• 6.(2071/7) In the limit test for iron , you are
provided with 0.005% solution of FeSO4(mol
wt 150) . What volume of this solution will
you take to prepare a 10 ml standard iron
solution containing 5ppm iron???
• 1p. How much KCl will you dissolve in
5oo ml water to prepare 500ml 0f 40ppm
chloride solution ?
• 2p. How will you prepare 500 ml of 50
ppm of SO4– by using FeSO4.7H2O .

solution become 1ppm only when you
dissolve 1g of solute in 10^6 ml of
water?
Does solution become 1ppm if you dissolve 1 g of cl^- in 10^6ml of ethanol ??

Normality = (weight * 1000)/(equivalent wt * volume)
Molarity= ( weight * 100)/ ( molecular wt * volume)
Gram/liter = normality * equivalent mass of solute= molarity*
molecular mass
Normality= n * molarity …. n=bsicity or acidity
Percentage by volume = 1/10 of g/liter
Normality ={ (w/W)%*density or sp.gravity * 10}/equivalent
weight
Normality equation : n1v1=n2v2
q. How will you prepare 0.1N NaOH of volume
500ml by using solute NaOH?
2. Find the normality of con HCl or H2SO4 that is
kept in your lab ? (you will be provided with %of
purity and sp . Gravity in label of bottle ?
3. Prepare 250ml 0.1N AgNO3?
4. If u have 8M H2SO4 . How will prepare 250ml of
0.5N H2SO4
5. How would you make 10% of 50 ml ethanol by
using 90% ethanol?
