• The term Electronic commerce or e-commerce consists
of all business activities carried on with the use of
electronic media, that is, computer network.
• In simple words, Electronic commerce involves buying
and selling of goods and services over the World Wide
Web.
• Customers can purchase anything right from a car or a
cake sitting comfortably in his room and gift it to
someone sitting miles apart just by click of a mouse.
• Shipping method is generally used for the delivery of
the goods ordered.

• India, at 100 million users is the 3rd largest
internet market in the world by number of users.
• On an average these 100 million users spend
about 16 hrs a week online.
– In case of television, with 500 million plus users, the
average viewer spends 13-14 hrs a week.
• Industry size was $5 billion in 2010. Is expected to
grow to $40 billion by 2015.
• Globally e-commerce is a big industry. 10

existing clients and generating business from targeted verticals
• To independently generate new business, liaison with the creative team
for pitches and presentations
• Carry out effective tasks ad provide solutions to the client by proposing
various service offerings.
