2. The colour scheme they have chosen for their leaflet are pinks, white and
purples. These colour are associated with women more as they come
across quite feminine, this could be because the charity is dedicated to a
women who died called Minnie's friends therefore using colour that
represent her. This can put people off mainly men and the leaflet comes
across very girly so this could cause men not to read it as they feel like
this aimed at women and not them. But they have included a picture of a
man on the back of the leaflet making to more noticeable to men that
this is aimed at them also. In the picture they have included a homeless
man to make it clear what this leaflet it about and it full of writing and
can be unclear from a distance what it is about.
They have added a image of the
women the charity is dedicated
to, to give the reader more
information about who she is.
The photo has been printed in
black and white, this helps the
image stand out against the
bright colours making it easier
for the audience to see her.
At the bottom of the leaflet they have
included a photo of people who are
involved in the charity to show the
audience the positive effect it has on the
people and this is back up with speech
bubbles of the people talking about how
The subheading on the leaflet have
been highlighted in purple this is to
help them stand out against the pink
as there are the main subjects they
talk about and the aims they want to
get across to the audience therefore
need to catch the eye of the public
more. Here they have also highlighted a
word in purple that’s not a sub
heading but rather just a word in a
sentence. They have highlighted this
word to emphasis the place they run
“safe place” by doing this the person
is more likely to see and know that
this charity Is a safe place for them
making them feel more secure. This leaflet includes clarity and
conciseness's as they have made
the text easy to understand by
bullet pointing what they
provide making it easier to read
and used few words to make it
simple.
They use formal language though out the text as they
are talking about a serious issue therefore want to
respectful and talk about it property they trying to
shorten the story they are trying to share. The charity
is for 18+ people also so forma language is used a
lot rather than slang making it more appropriate for
The text is accurate as there is no
spelling mistakes and everything is
written correct.
Leaflet-
Even though they are raising
awareness they are still promoting
their company therefore need to
follow the codes of practice and legal
constraints this means that anything
they talk about need to be true, they
cannot promote false information
and if they do can be taken to court.
There are also charity guidelines that
they have to follow for example
putting their charity number on their
leaflet to show they are a proper
charity and have been registered and
they have done this.
3. Instruction
manual-There is no colour on the instruction manual as this saves the company money that they can
use else wear, also the guide is printed on thin paper to also save money. They also don’t
use colour as this could confuse the reader because if the parts with different they could
think they are supposed to be this colour in real life and also if they show the pram in a
colour the audience could think you can by the pram in that colour and this could not be the
case at the store therefore you would be giving the audience false information. Their
intention is to provide information on how to build a pram and not the colour it comes in as
this is irrelevant information. They have added a picture of the pram with
lines coming off it pointing to the features
of the pram, they have done this as it useful
for the audience to know where all the parts
go and are on the pram, making it easier
for them to fit it together. They have done
this through out the manual by adding
picture next to the steps to show them
exactly what parts go wear and it is easy for
the audience to create this if they have a
visual representation of it. For the company
by adding more pictures and less text
means they don’t have to spend as much
time on the manual making it easy for the
company to make as they don’t have to
check it as much.
For the subheading they have
enlarged it more than the text to
stand out as these parts of the
manual are important so the
audience need to know where they
are. For example they made the
warning sign a lot bigger than the
rest of the text and other
subheading as this is really
important to get across this
information as the reader could
hurt them self's if they do not
read it so its needs to be clear so
they do not harm them self's or
anyone else.
In there text they have included
clarity by giving the reader an easy
step to step guide of how to build
the pram by separating the
information into short chunks
making it easier to read by
numbering the sections and take in
rather than reading massive
paragraphs full of text. This
creates conciseness in their work
as it makes it more simple for the
audience to read making it more of
a enjoyable experience when
creating it.
ABDC avoided ambiguity as they
clearly presented their work in
clear step using illustration of how
to build the pram with steps along
side it making it very clear for the
reader to understand how to build
making it very hard for them to get
confused.
There legal requirements for the company to follow such as legal constraints and codes of
practice. The company must provide safety steps for the audience for example the warnings to
follow to ensure they do not hurt them self's using the pram. If the company do not this and
someone harms they self's by the pram they can sue them, so they include these for the safety of
their audience but also for the safety of the company's as they do not want to harm their brand
image as people will stop buying their products and they also do don’t want to go to court as
this will cost money and their time. They also include maintenance and care steps to make sure
4. How to guide-
The colour scheme for the front cover of the guide is
a mixture of bright colours such as, pink, purple,
blue, green and orange. They have used a variety of
colours as there is so specific gender that Is targeted
when playing the piano, so they have so colours that
can please both genders. As the guide is also for
beginners the people are mostly likely to be young as
they have just started playing, so therefore by using
bright colour these are more appropriate for their age
as young kids enjoy colorful things.
Also on the front cover they have included
pictures of people playing piano to illustrate
what the book is about and to make it clearer
for the audience to know.
For the guide on how to play the piano they
have use boxes to separate the instructions
to make it clearer to read, making it
conciseness's as it simple to understand as
they have used few words and more pictures.
They also included bullet points to make it
clear what order to follow the steps making it
simpler.
In the boxes they have included pictures of
hands and labeled the different fingers and
side of hand for the audience to be able to
look at and transfer these technique on to
their own hands as it easier to follow a guide
if they can see what's going on rather than
reading about it.
For the inside of the guide they have not used any
colour this could be to save the company money as
there will be lots of pages to show the reader how
to play the piano therefore it would cost them lots
to print it in colour. They don’t have to use colour
also as the person of the guide is to teach the
reader how to play the piano so using colour would
be irrelevant as it is not needed as it will not help
them.
They have avoided ambiguity as they clearly
presented their work in clear step to step guide
using illustration of how to play the piano with
steps along side it making it very clear for the
reader to understand how to play making it very
hard for them to get confused.
The subheading on the pages have been made
bold to highlight the fact that these are the
main points of the guide the reader should be
looking at and to also make it clear where the
different stages are of the book as the stand
out against the rest of the text making it easier
for the reader to find it.
They need to follow the codes of practice and
legal constraints this means that anything they
talk about need to be true, they cannot promote
false information and if they do can be taken to
The text is formal to make sure the information is
clear to everyone who is reading, talking in slang and
shorten words can confuse some people reading it,
this could make them do something wrong in the
steps and ruin their experience. Making the whole
text formal is appropriate for everyone reading.
5. The headline they have made bold
this is to make it stand out to the
audience to catch they eye, to
encourage them to read the article
as they are more likely to see the
article if the font if different to rest.
They have included a picture at the top of the article to inform the public
about the person they are talking about incase the audience did not
know and also a picture is a good way to grab peoples attention and
people are more likely to read an article with pictures as it seems more
interesting. In the article there are words and sentences that
are highlighted in light blue these are to draw
attention to the more important parts of the
article for example they highlighted “we first
heard about the case via The Hollywood
Reporter” this is to show the audience where
they have got their information to reassure the
audience that this is the truth.
To further highlight this they have added a link
also highlighted in blue to attract the audience.
They have added the link for show where the
story they are reporting on originally came from.
They have dome to further evidence the article
but to also get credit to the person who reported
on the first so they don’t look like they have just
stolen it as this could give them a bad name.
They have use formal writing as this is a
factual article about a issue that has
happen so therefore the target audience
will be aimed at 30+ as typically older
people that read newspapers therefore
will not understand slang if they have
used it and it will be much easier for to
understand formal language as this is
what they have been leant. This shows
that they have included clarity as they
have made the text easy to understand.
They haven't included conciseness’ as
they have used lot of words maybe
making it hard for people to pay attention
but this aimed at an older target audience
so they are used to long text rather then
picture and short text.
There legal requirements for the company to follow such as legal constraints and codes of practice. This means there
text has to include the truth and they cannot make anything up as this would be going against the guidelines because
they would be making up lies about someone that not is true. If this does happen the person they have lied about can
take them to court and this can give their company as bad name. Here they haven't gone against any rules are they
have backed up all their facts and source to show the audience where they have got their story from but another
reason why they make sure that this doesn’t happen is to kept their company safe as they do not want to harm their
