2. Discuss the constraints you experienced in the project from a legal (copyright), regulatory (ASA) and
financial perspective.
I found a teenage girl and this was free to use
but I didn’t want to use that same image I
wanted to change it up to make it my own. I
kept the hair and smile but change the colour
of her features and made her own eyes. I
created my won version of this character but a
boy version from scratch.
For another graphic I did the same by going onto
the same website a finding a free usage picture
of a money bag. For this image I created it my
self using shapes off Photoshop. I used the warp
tool to make it the shape I needed. I also used a
gradient tool to give it a shadow effect. This is my
own graphic therefore they can not get
copyrighted as I created for them.
Lastly I used the website again for a
women I needed for the first sign. I use a
picture from a different website freepik
and I got this from the free sector making
it okay for me to use. For this image I
changed the colour of her outfit to fit the
scheme of the poster and made her eyes
myself and removed her mouth to fit
better with what I am trying to get across.
For the project I wanted to create a poster letting people know 4 signs of emotional abuse to help raise awareness. For this I wanted to include
graphic to making to easier for a younger audience to understand. Therefore I went onto a website called pixaboy to find some free commercial
use images because if there were not free to use my client could get sued by the person who created them therefore I have to make sure I can
use them and have permission.
3. You need to discuss how well you managed the project.

I believe I managed my project very well as I create basic schedule about how I would spend my 4 weeks. This allowed me
to follow it and make sure I was on time when doing my pre-production to make sure I had enough time for the production
as my deadline was 2 week before everyone else's as my client need it for the 21st of May. I stuck to this and I had plenty of
time to create my posters and the display board, because I had left lots of time I actually finished earlier which meant I was
able to review it and improve it. Another way in which I managed this project well is I had great communication with my
client to make sure everything was going smoothly. I met up with them to discuss some further work I could create and ask
for their opinion on them to make sure I was allowed to create them. We also emailed back and forth all the time as I let
them know everything I was doing and got their opinion through out it all so I could improve my work to make sure it met
their standard. From this I was able to make sure my work was perfect to go onto the display and they were happy with the
overall display before giving it them to ensure it was suitable for the charity event on the 24th of May and York St Johns
Univeristy.

For the production a created a detailed time schedule where I carefully planned everything I would do on each day. I did this
as my deadline for the Monday the 21st of May and therefore I had to make sure I had everything ready for the day and there
was no option for it to be any later because of this I had to make sure my pre=production was done a week earlier then the
rest of the class to make sure I had enough time to do this. On week one of production I used this week to create my first
poster which was the 4 signs of emotional abuse and left room at the end of the week to show my client and get any
improvement which I did get and because I had left space I was able to improve without wasting any other time. For week 2
gave my self 2 days to create my final poster which was the infographic and again gave my self time for improvement but I
did not need to therefore I had extra time to start getting all my work together to put on the display board. I created the
display board in 2 days and had room to send to my client to ensure she liked it and it was suitable which is was. On Monday
a 10am my client came in and was very happy with the product and everything went smoothly as I met the deadline.
5. How well did you manage communications?
My communication between my client was managed great. I met my client on the 24th of April to get some resources for my
display board this included posters, pictures, article’s and some facts. This was all provided for free of my client. I was able to
speak to them about the poster I was going to create for so I could their opinion. In this talk they were happy with my plans for
the display board and thought I had some great ideas and because I was able to speak we cleared up everything and this made
sure they was no miss communication with what I was going to make. This was then followed up in a email because this had
not been spoken about in the brief so this was a good way to make sure I knew what we had talked about. Through the email
she had given me a list of thing to talk about in a blog post I am going to right for the website, this is really helpful and I knew
what I needed to write as she made it very clear.
On Monday the 21st of May the deadline for the display board my client came in to take a look and take the board to the venue
at York St Johns University. Lizzie who I created the display board emailed me asking where we should meet and we arranged to
meet at my class room and I emailed where that was making it easy for us to meet. They were very happy with what I had done
especially the bunting I had made from their other production work. Meeting them before they took was very easy and a good
way to clear up any other information we needed to speak about. We also spoke about the event its self and walked about me
coming down on Thursday to take some professional images of my won display board and the event its self. I have got a ticket
for the event and we be seeing them at the event. Overall I managed my commutation very well as there was no mistakes or
miss understanding, everything worked up perfectly and the display is now being displayed.
6. How did you meet the requirements of the brief and achieve your agreed outcomes.
In the brief my requirements were to create a display board including pictures
from the campaign week, the All About Respect posters, work from other
student on abuse, poster created by the drama workshop and also including an
article from them, statistics from a survey done in York College and finally any
news article done by York College on this campaign. There was also special
requirements that she highlighted that I had to use if creating my own posters
these were to use their All About Respect logo, use orange, yellow and black
colour in my work and write a short piece about me creating them to let the
audience know what I did and why. On brief it also said it had to be done by
Monday the 21st of May. I achieve all the agreed outcomes that was stated in the
brief. I created two posters, for one of them I used the statistics from the survey
to create a infographic, for the colours I used black, orange and yellow to keep to
the colour scheme so they would fit in on the display compared to the rest of
their own product. I created a infographic as they wanted to show the figures
from the survey and this was a simple but effective way to present it and it is
easy to read but also easy to display as it does not take up a lot of space. I also
used the same colour scheme for the other poster I created. For the display
board I displayed all the images for the campaign week held at York College and
included parts of an article that York College wrote about the occasion, used
their own production work and used other student works including my own. I
also wrote a little piece on my and the other student. For the drama workshop I
presented an article written by the leader of the workshop about her experience
working for the campaign.
8. Public Feedback
I created a survey for people to give me
feedback on my work. For the first
question I asked what people thought of
the look of my display. The response was
very present. The most popular answer
was the layout of the display and that it
was easy to read. This is a good responses
because this is important that the message
can get across easily.
For the second question I asked
what was their favorite part of
the display was. The most
popular answer was the layout of
the display. This has been a very
popular answer throughout what
shows that the way the board
look really effects people interest
in it.
My third question was what would you
change about it or add? For this I got
feedback like add more colour and don’t
show the same posters twice. This allows
me to know what people like on display
board and that colour is a important
factor but in my situation I had to use
black and yellow as this is what my client
wanted and they also wanted there
poster displayed there so there was no
improvements I could of done.
9. Public Feedback
The two most important question I left till last. Question 4 was do you feel more educated on the cause? And 100% of the
people who took this survey clicked yes. This is great as this was the main purpose of the display to spread awareness of
emotional abuse and sexual abuse in relationships. This is also good my client as they can now know that the board to
create actually work and gets the message they asked me to create across. For the last question I asked if they could find
the information to get help. 87% of people said yes which is really high and good but one person said no. This shows
maybe next time I have an opportunity like this to highlight the important information to make sure everyone knows how
to get help.
10. What have your learnt here that could help you in future tasks.
I have learnt how to work for a client professionally and what it is like to be working in this type of
industry. This will be useful for in the future as when I work with another client I will already have
experience and I can become better next time. Working with a client as made me learn how to
communicate with them through meetings, events and emails. I have been taught how to speak
professionally through emails when discussing work, this will help me in the future as I know how to
email properly and this will make me more professional and presentable to my next client. It has
helped me understand the effort and creativity you need for this type of work as it requires a lot of
time and thought. It have also learn the law side of it as I had to make sure all the pictures, articles
and graphics I made were free to use so my client did not get sued, this has made me more
experience in this now and have a better understanding about what not to do next time I have
another client. It has taught me how to manage my time as I had a deadline to meet and therefore
had to make sure my work was all finished for Monday the 21st of May this made me more efficient
and more focused on my work.
I believe I can make it in this industry as I have successfully created two posters and a display board
that my client loved and were very pleased with. I followed their requirements and created what they
wanted and had no complaints.
