Potential problems with my coursework
1. Potential Problems with My Coursework
Potential area where there might be a
problem
How I will deal with this problem
Front cover images
My front cover image must look professional to
attract the target audience, in order to achieve
this, I will have to use a high quality camera to
produce a clear, detailed and sharp images.
However, the only potential problem that I have
come across is to do with the destination is which
I will be taking the shots. Furthermore, I know
that having a good location is essential when
trying to produce an appealing and effective
image. I am concerned that the outside
background will interferer and blend in with text,
when placed over it. E.g. The masthead might not
to be seen clearly over the background image as
the colours clash and combined in with one
another.
To solve this problem, I can either make the
masthead large in a bold and clear font, whilst
using a different colour so that it contrasts with
the background colours. For example, if the
background turns out to be blue and clearly from
the sky, then I will use a dominant colour such as
black to stand out against the blue. So that both
the background and masthead can be seen just as
much as each other.
Another solution to deal with this problem would
be cropping/cutting the model out of her location
and editing the image in Photoshop, for example
having her with a white background as if the shot
was taken in a studio, so that the masthead could
be written in any other colour then white and still
be clearly seen.
Article Inside Magazine
My article will be centred on the model on my
front cover. It will be informative, interesting
however it will be small article, as the overall
results from my survey prove that my target
audience prefer smaller article. Due to the
thought of having less to read appeals to them as
they have a short attention span.
The only potential problem that I have is that my
target audience might get bored whilst reading
the article.
To deal with this problem I will defiantly keep on
topic throughout the article, as my audience will
lose interest and won’t bother reading the rest as
their concentration levels have decreased. Also I
will summarise large amounts of information,
picking out the key parts, such as exclusive
information. Rather than having the full interview
with everything included, such as insignificant
casual conversation as the audience will get
uninterested and stop paying attention.
Images to accompany article
When taking images for my article I want the
photos to look professional and to be very relevant
when relating to what the article is about. In
addition to this I want my images to represent what
is going on within the article, so that they go side by
side. e.g. Once looking at the image you’ll get a
more of an insight of what the article was trying to
say/ hint at. For example, if the article is talking
about a new artist working on an album then I want
to provide the audience with visible prove of the
this happening, such as the artists sitting in the
studio writing lyrics for one of their songs which will
feature on the album.
The only potential problem that I am facing with
To solve this problem, I might use props such as
earphones or a notebook to relate to the music
aspect of listening to music and making
sounds/writing lyrics. These props aren’t too big
or obvious that they will fit in within the image
and won’t take the attention away from the
model herself. For example, if I used a guitar as a
prop the majority of the audience’s attention
would be on the prop and not on the model
because it is so big and would take up most of the
image. Possibly covering the model suggesting
the prop has more importance which is incorrect.
2. this task is trying to position these images to look
realistic, but still be very relevant to the article. In
addition to this I want the image to represent the
singer but I don’t want it to look fake and set up.
