A survey found that 69% of Muslim, Arab, and South Asian respondents reported experiencing discrimination in New York City since 9/11, especially in housing, public accommodations, bias-related incidents, and employment. While 79% felt affected by 9/11, there is already a mosque four blocks from Ground Zero, but there remains opposition to building a larger mosque nearby due to sensitivity over the 9/11 attacks.
