2. Key duties/responsibilities for project controller
1. Oversee, identify plan deviations and recommend resolution for project manager.
2. Monitor performance and determine improvement areas by developing key
performance indicators for critical department metrics.
3. Complete ad hoc assignments to support capital transmission project delivery.
4. Create and execute internal controls and offer Internal Auditor services to assure
controls.
5. Maintain current and forecasted Cash Flow data when compared to projected
Cash Flow.
6. Manage project accounting databases to ensure timely security and control.
7. Offer direct financial communication with project team, internal financing
department, subcontractors and Joint Venture owners.
8. Ensure financial information accuracy between program-level and subproject
reporting.
9. Support Project Management Office Supervisor in project financial management
and divisional reporting.
10. Administer and coordinate routine contract work using prescribed and
standardized methods.
11. Conduct cost variance analysis and schedule against baseline values through PMI
Earned Value Measurement technique.
3. Key job qualifications for project controller
1. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
2. Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with others and work
independently.
3. Proven project financial management experience (to include budgeting,
reporting and analysis and revenue recognition) preferably in a project-based
organization
4. Possess working knowledge of contracts administration and pricing.
5. Knowledge of Deltek Costpoint highly desirable
6. Demonstrated familiarity with the practical applications of personal
computers and basic application software (e.g., Excel, Word, etc.), as well
as being able to learn specialized software tool applications and apply
them within AMERICAN SYSTEMS framework of business operations.
7. Ability to assess, interpret and apply government and industry standards,
specifications and handbooks to the unique requirements of tasking.
8. Bachelor''s Degree of Science or Arts in a related discipline (business,
finance or accounting) and three (3) years of experience in a directly
related field.
