Key duties/responsibilities for project director 
1. Build a comprehensive strategy and infrastructure on the state or local level to achieve 
long-term gains. 
2. Coordinate our strength and resources, both within and across state to win short-term 
offensive victories and build long-term, sustained power. 
3. Work with other Unions and strategic partners to build a joint strategy and progressive 
infrastructure 
4. Support and inspire workers and community members to create conditions for worker 
organizing around issues of justice including increased wages, Medicaid expansion, 
and immigrant rights. 
5. Leads and supports field staff in the campaign to plan and achieve goals. Assures 
integration of the work with local unions, community organizations, and other SEIU 
departments. 
6. Oversees staff development program for the campaign staff, evaluates the needs of the 
campaign, implements the program including training leads and tracking progress. 
7. Reports on progress of the campaign regularly. 
8. Coordinate the Management of multiple state and local level issue campaigns and 
budgets. 
9. Coordinate the development of coalitions and joint work with strategic allies and 
partners. 
10. Establish campaign budget with measurable goals and outcomes, to be evaluated on a 
regular basis.
Key job qualifications for project director 
1. Bachelor’s Degree or higher; Masters of Public Health preferred 
2. At least three years working in health care project management or 
supervisory position 
3. Ability to implement and monitor budgets 
4. Ability to work cross-organizationally 
5. Experience with government grant administration 
6. Problem-solving skills: detail-oriented with excellent documentation 
ability 
7. Strong communication skills 
8. Program development experience preferred 
9. Familiarity with the home care field preferred
