2. Key duties/responsibilities for project specialist
1. Provides functional project support to areas in transition, collects and
analyzes data, and prepares project materials
2. Coordinates efforts between departments and between the college/unit and
external participants
3. Participates in planning implementation tasks, including training
4. Performs needs and outcomes assessments as needed
5. May provide training and follow-up support
6. Assist with administering technical and administrative projects,

9. Assist with creating communication plans that detail how and when
information will be shared with stakeholders, constituents, team members,
etc.
10. Assist with managing and controlling scope creep with a change
management plan that evaluates and prioritizes all changes to the plan
3. Key job qualifications for project specialist
1. 2 to 3 years of project coordination experience preferably in an
information technology environment
2. Experience with developing communication plans and familiarity with
change management plans
3. Experience with organizing and conducting project team meetings and
facilitating discussions
4. Experience with creating documentation and/or training materials
5. Experience with creating various types of reports. e.g. status and statistical
reports
6. Experience with preparing and delivering oral and written presentations;
excellent verbal and written communication skills
7. Excellent organizational skills; ability to self-direct and effectively manage
assignments
8. Proficient with MS Office Suite; knowledge of project management
applications
