2. WEIGHT- IS IT A PROBLEM???
 Overweight and obesity are significant and increasing
public health challenges in both economically developed
and developing regions of the world, with 33.0% of the
world's adult population (1.3 billion people) overweight
or obese in 2005. (Kelly T,2008)
 Moreover, if recent trends continue, by 2030 up to 57.8%
of the world's adult population (3.3 billion people) could
be either overweight or obese. (Kelly T,2008)
 Epidemiologic studies indicate that overweight and
obesity are important risk factors for diabetes,
cardiovascular disease, cancer and premature death.

4. IS IT ALL ABOUT FAT ???
 We all need some fat. The problem is that many people
carry too much fat - 30% or more.
 Did you know that for health and weight maintenance,
you should aim to keep your fat levels ideally between
20 to 25 percent? And the other 70 + percent of the body
would then be made up of - lean body mass which are
muscles, bones, organs and water.
 Excess fat is from diet, from improper exercise.
 Unless you exercise, keeping your fat levels between 20
and 25 percent becomes a losing battle for most people.
 A combination of the natural aging process and inactivity
causes many of us, on average, to lose about 5 pounds of
muscle every decade. 4
