College Magazine
Evaluation
Q1) How does your magazine represent particular social groups?
Q2) How did you attract/address your audience?
Q3) What aspects of your work are you pleased with and why?
Q4) What aspects could be improved?
Q1) How does your magazine represent
particular social groups?
My magazine represents my social group as it
addresses various topics in the cover lines that
my research indicated was interesting to the
target audience. The college student niche
market specifically requested in my survey the
various offers and advice which I have
displayed as cover lines. This will help me draw
in and reach my target audience. The language
style is also simple, friendly and appealing,
which will also help me to interact with my
audience.
Q2) How did you attract/address your
audience?
My target audience was attracted by the use of
appealing offers to the social group as well as
the use of informal and relaxed language. This
will make the message I want to give to the
market clear to understand and will then make
them want to read more of my magazine. The
use of bold text and imagery also lets people
easy identify my magazine, which will bring in
my target audience.
Q3) What aspects of your work are you
pleased with and why?
I am pleased with the visuals of my magazine
work, as it has consistent themes, both through
the research and in my final magazine
products. The magazine is bold and clear, with
bright colours that tie in with a theme. I also
like the way my cover lines and offers are all
relevant and appealing to my target audience,
further boosting the appeal of my magazine to
my niche market. Additionally, I like how, on my
contents page, I have created a QR code
externally which links in to one of the offers in
the magazine.
Q4) What aspects could be improved?
To improve my work, I feel as though some of
the folios in the furniture on the contents page
could be aligned better with the first hand
graphics and straplines to make it easier to
read, although it doesn’t take away from the
contents page’s visuals overall.
