Mentoring & Advisory On Decision Making

  1. 1. A different perspective on MENTORING
  2. 2. SELF-IMPROVEMENT BEGINS WITH SELF-KNOWLEDGE
  3. 3. Everyone wants to improve...to achieve BETTERPERFORMANCE, SUCCESS, HAPPINESS,RELATIONS...We first need to understand what we seek, what we need, desire and FEEL.It seems easy, but try to remember when asthe last time that you have taken a FULL DAY toinner-reflection, to think about YOU.When as tha last time you have wrote aboutYOU, about what you need and what you are? Some people never did...YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND WHAT DO YOUSEEK, NEED, DESIRE, EXPECT...AT LEAST WHATYOU FEEL...
  4. 4. Self-Knowledge help us to take betterdecisions. When I know what do I need, desire, believe, trust, like...a can make better decisions, right? It seems easy, and you probably can say...IKNOW MYSELF WELL.How many times you ask yourself: DAM, I knewthat was coming. How couldn’t I saw it? If Icould go back in time I would do it differently...Why does it happens? Because, many of ourdecisions are based purelly on instincts andexperience and no inner-reflection.If we make better decisions we will beprobably more recognized by the actions wechoose to do...And that will take us to OUR space of success.
  5. 5. EPISODE IYOU DON’T ASK FORHELP TO A MENTOR
  6. 6. Mentors can make a great deal in our lifes inwhat it takes for helping us taking gooddecisions. But don’t ask for HELP to a mentor...If you do, you might be frustrated...Mentors are NOT Gate keepers for success, new jobs or trainers...Some can DO it, Some will try to HELP youachieve those goals.BUT IS NOT THE MENTORS ROLE TO DO IT.
  7. 7. A mentor should be faced as an ADVISOR andnot a HELPERAlthough he might give you Access, Networkand potentiate opportunities, don’t expectthat. The wisdom of your mentor comes from his orher experience. The more and different experiences a mentorhad the better he or she can potentially adviseYOU.This is what you should expect from aMENTOR.A valid perspective for your questions anddoubts
  8. 8. JASON ASSOCIATESADVISORS
  9. 9. But is just one perspective. You should think on having more than onementor. When you have to decide something reallyimportant what do you do?1. Take the decision of your own, no questions made...2. Ask a friend and them take a decision...3. Ask for different perspectives and them take a decision. RIGHTIf you have chosen wisely your will probablypicked different personalities. They give different perspectives and that is thevalue of having people that are different
  10. 10. Along the way YOU will need differentmentors, as YOU will have different type ofchallenges and decisions YOU have to make.As in golf, the way you evolve dictates the typeof mentor you need to grow.In life or in your job you might have to look fornew mentors during the years...
  11. 11. Mentors are very important because theydon’t LIEHe is not your wife / husband, not your bestfriend or colleague...He shouldnt have no reason to tell nothing butthe real TRUTH
  12. 12. How to choose a mentor?FIT is keyIf you don’t like him, you will never askhim for an adviseSpeed up the knowledge process tounderstand what type of mentor youhave. The more you know your mentor thebetter you understand how he canadvise you.
  13. 13. The first MOVE should always be yoursThe second move should be also YoursAnd the third...the sameIt’s you that need the advise.YES, the mentor have responsabilitities– But at the end, if you don’t make thequestions, your don’t get the answers.
  14. 14. Always choose people that really like to EAR And not only to TALK
  15. 15. People with good memory.Because it is the SUM of the stories of his life that represent the value of the relationship.
  16. 16. And don’t be afraid to invite BIG DOGS for mentor You might be surprised
  17. 17. Mentors are like MAPS. They show you different paths to get your destinyBut it’s up to you to choose or create your own path.
