Challenging Language Expression If we want to be more precise, or help others to be more precise, we must look at how our linguistic assumptions can lead to imprecision in our communication and in our thinking. We can improve communication with others by challenging the imprecise language we all use. Challenging the imprecise language we use to ourselves can also help us to unblock our thinking. There isn’t a problem first and then a way of thinking about it. The way of thinking is the problem. Changing our language can change our thinking … and that gives us more choices about how to act.
