Cure of the Streets
The poet Rainer Maria Rilke says that "a work of art is good if it has sprung from necessity" (Farley). Hip Hop was born on the poor and dangerous
streets of the USA. Minorities such as African–Americans and Hispanics dominated these streets, and they felt the need to address their long–standing
common issues. Therefore, a new form of art, hip hop was born, and became the method of self–expression for these minorities. Lyrics have presented
what they have been through. While rap has turned from a tool of self–expression to a multi–billion dollar industry, it has continued to constructively
affect the social and economic structure of the society. While serving as a good alternative to the streets, hip hop positively uplifts the cultural barriers
within the society and educates the youth. In order to better understand the necessity and the influence of hip hop, the history of how and where this
music emerged is highly important. In the 1970s, Hip hop was born in the "immensely impoverished, crime–ridden, drug–infested streets of the Bronx",
which were often called "America's worst slum" or "the epitome of urban failure" (Price 4). Emmett Price III, the writer of Hip Hop Culture, says that
the "ostracized, marginalized, and oppressed" youth started hip hop as "a liberation movement", and they aimed to combat against "issues of racial
prejudice, cultural persecution, and social, economic, and political disparities" (Price 1). From the 1970s to the 1990s, hip hop had increased

* The long slow motion shot of Michael Oher introduces Michael to the story, with his town home within the background of the shot. The effect of
Flashbacks at the moment when Michael was separated from his mother is to give a short insight as to what Michael Oher had experienced. * On
Michael's journey to the new Christian School that will eventually become a second home for Michael there is a panning shot of Michael in the
back seat of the car. Visually we can see that Michael's body language is conveying a sense of shyness, worry and alienation, as if Michael was in a

Once having left the Brewin's place, I was back on the road pushing June's car to its limit as I made my way over to the shed. I wasn't completely
sure of what my game plan would be once I got there, but I knew whatever it would be, my chances of pulling it off would be slim. I pulled onto the
dirt road which led to the facility and then killed my headlamps for the rest of the brief journey. I didn't really think I had the advantage of surprise
given that Lyle probably had scouts watching the road, but it just felt right to do so. Having pulled up to the shed, I parked my vehicle near the
thicket where Anna and Calvin had parked the first time they brought me here. Furtively, I made my way over to the side door of the main... Show more

A moan soon accompanied the strange noise and I could tell at that point from where it was emanating although I still couldn't see anything. It was
originating from up above, straight up above from where I was standing as if whatever it was–or whoever it was–was bound and gagged and strung
from rafters. The noise soon increased in its resonance throughout the building and I was about to back away, hoping I could go find some sort of
light source, but, that was when the lights came on. From up above me, dangled Anna suspended in chains and hung from her feet. She wore a
cloth gag they had stuffed in her mouth, which she struggled to scream through after seeing me standing there under her. They had beaten her
savagely. A gash had been opened up around her eye and part of her femur jettisoned out of her leg, busting through the fabric of the blue jeans she
wore. "Peter!" a voice called out to me from the other side of the room. And, as I focused my attention on the area it was coming from, I saw Lyle
and Kim emerge from the office rooms at the rear of the shed where the Alliance had held their private meeting area during the gathering. They were
accompanied by at least two dozen other members of the Alliance, many I recognized, some I did not. "I'm so glad you made it," said Lyle as he
approached. "We were worried you weren't going to show and leave poor Anna here to her termination. And, they say chivalry is dead. I guess not

Analysis Of Juicy By Christopher Wallace
All over the world many have gone through or are still going through the struggle of being in poverty. You don't have to be homeless to be struggling,
it could be just not have lights on in your home, past due rent, or maybe not having enough or anything at all to eat. Many have felt like just because
they go through this that they will never be anything because they don't have the resources to accomplish anything in life, and other people around you
who doubt you can make you believe even more that you will never amount to anything in life. Christopher Wallace aka The Notorious B.I.G. or
Biggie small's song "Juicy", released in 1994 from his Ready to Die album, selling over 607,000 copies is a great example of all of this. He tells this
exact story through his song about how people used to doubt him and even goes on to tell about his life in the struggle and coming up from it.
Biggie makes it known throughout his entire song that he isn't ashamed of how he grew up before the wealth. I think his main point was to let
people know that he will never forget and that it's the lessons he learned during those times that undisguisable got him to where he is now.
Throughout the entire song Biggie tells us little parts of his past like "'Remember when I used to eat sardines for dinner" (verse 1, line 14). This is
one of the things he went through was having times where would have eat like this because it was all that he had. Now honestly he didn't always go
days like this, but it

Cure of the Streets
Rap was born in the 1970s as a need of African Americans, who were living in impoverished and crime–infested neighborhoods, to express the issues
that they were facing. It was "a genuine reflection of the hopes, concerns, and aspirations of urban Black youth in the last quarter of the 20th century"
(Powell 245). However, rap did not stay limited to African Americans. Its popularity expanded rapidly among the minorities because the problems
which they were facing were the same. These problems were "a lack of access to justice, health care, voting rights, employment, and other everyday
privileges of citizenship" (Price 2). Having come out of this environment, while serving as an alternative to the streets, hip hop positively uplifts the
cultural barriers within the society and educates the youth. This paper argues this important topic, because in contrast to the common belief that rap is
harmful to the society, it has many benefits to our youth, and its benefits socially and educationally improves our society.
Since the beginning of the 1990s, when East Coast–West Coast rivalry was becoming intense and ended up with the death of two of the greatest hip
hop artists, Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G, rap's influence on our society has been argued. Many claim that rap negatively effects the education of
the youth. However, the studies which claim this thesis are not taking the impacts of external factors such as peer groups, other media sources, and
family education into account.

The Last Space Lord
I am number 69, the last of my kind. We were the space lords and there were 70 of us on earth. We came because the Virus Fang destroyed our planet.
We came here in individual transport– no two–space lords came together. The way that I made it here is by a Legof. A Legof is the name of our
spaceships back on my planet that can travel in any atmosphere and disguise itself as anything. The Legof is as living as I am. Most of us traveled
that way, but there were a few of us who knew how to teleport. Now I am the last one left to save the world from the Virus Fang. I have been hiding
from the monsters that killed most of my brothers. The Virus Fang search to destroy all life from space lords to humans.
The scars of my dead brethren are split between my two legs. Each of the scars is engraved with a small picture of which of my brethren it
represents, leaving a memory of those who I have lost in battle. The scars hurt every once in a while. It's almost like they are still living as a part of
me. Some mornings I wake up and the pain is so unbearable that I actually believe that my brethren are crawling out of the scars on my leg and
coming back to life.
It's morning. It seems almost impossible to get out of my warm, cozy confortable bed on this seemingly normal morning. But the warm smell of hot
cocoa in the air awakens me filling with happiness and joy. All of my childhood memories of my mom's delicious hot cocoa. It is almost like I'm in

I Am A Pastor At A Church
"Find your calling! Your mission! The one thing God has ordained for you to do for the rest of your life!" These were some of the words that I heard
being preached to kids my age since I started going to youth group in 7th grade. I heard these words, and I was excited. I was excited, but also
nervous, and scared, but hopeful at the same time: hopeful that one day I would find my calling for my life. I would wonder my thoughts,
thinking, what is my calling going to be? And where is it going to take me? Am I going to be called to be a Pastor at a church? Is the church going to
be small? Will it be huge? Will it be far away? Or will I be called to be a missionary? Will I be called to go preach the gospel to thousands of civilians in
East Africa? Or will I just be called to be a one on one counselor? Whatever it was, I couldn't wait for God to tell me what it was. A year or two went
by, and people all around me were receiving their calling. My sister was called into Worship ministry, and my older brother was called to be a
youth pastor. My friends were being called to be missionaries, doctors, counselors, pastors, and all other sorts of things. And there I was, still waiting
to receive my calling. I thought, maybe I'm just not ready for it: Maybe God's timing hasn't come yet. I was born into my family as the middle child. I
wasn't born as the take charge, do it yourself, first born leader, like my oldest brother: or the spontaneous, outgoing, nosy princess, like my older

Survival in solitude Essays
Survival in solitude After being stranded on an uninhabited island, Robinson Crusoe manages to discover his natural abilities that serve as indicators of
his true character. At first glance the common adage, "Necessity is the mother of all inventions," appears to account for the character of Robinson
Crusoe; however, further analysis suggests that the intelligence, industriousness, and optimism are inherent to Crusoe's personality.Sir Francis Bacon so
aptly stated, "Prosperity doth best discover vice; but adversity doth best discover virtue." From the moment that Crusoe was stranded on the island until
the day he was rescued he exhibits these qualities.

As he puts it in his journal:
I had never handled a tool in my life, and yet in time, by labor, application, and contrivance, I found at last that I wanted nothing but I could have made
it, especially if I had tools...(488)
Through his narration it is evident that this inherent intelligence allows him to adapt to his long and lonely life on the island. The format of the novel
itself, that of a journal, indicates that Crusoe is highly educated so that he is able to write and express his thoughts clearly.
Furthermore, Crusoe's hard working nature forces him to do more than what is strictly necessary in order to sustain himself. When unloading the cargo
off the ship, he works endlessly until the task is completed although he could have taken a lighter approach to the job. Rather than being complacent
about his comforts Crusoe was industrious and salvages all that he could from the ship. He labors hard to bring all the steel cables, tools, and any
munitions that he could find, even though he may not need some of the items immediately. Crusoe also gathers on his twelfth and last trip little
knickknacks like coins and razor blades. When he begins using the cave as his shelter, he works hard in order to create shelves so that he can
organize his belongings. He fashions himself with a goatskin jacket, skirts, cap, footwear, and pouches for his weaponry. If he is not inherently

What Is The Theme Of The Jon Lenin Xperience
The Jon Lennin Xperience remains as my personal most loved short story in the collection Pee on Water by Rachel B. Glaser. In the story, the

This Halloween, Sean Clancy had the most original costume in his southern Pennsylvania neighborhood. The base layer of his costume wasn't very
exciting at all– a flannel shirt, jeans and boots. However, the next layer really made Clancy's costume memorable. He tucked a street sign into his

The Blind Side Michael Oher Analysis
In the film The Blind Side, directed by John Lee Hancock, one important character that changes throughout the film is Michael Oher. John Lee
Hancock delivers an important message that you don't have to be blood to be family, and that with love and support you can overcome obstacles.
John Lee Hancock shows the audience that this is true and that the love and support of a family can change a whole person's life, as we get to see the
changes to Michael Oher's life. John Lee Hancock used the film techniques of close ups, over the shoulder and reverse angle shots, and dialogue to
show how Michael Oher changes.
Michael Oher is an important character in the film, The Blind Side. Throughout the film this important character changes because of the love and
support he gets from a family. At the beginning of the film we see Michael Oher as a big black boy, who's homeless, is uneducated, he's poor,
unwanted, quiet, shy and has no confidence. One freezing, wet night he has nowhere to go. Leigh Anne Tuohy, a white, wealthy, well–dressed,
confident, happily married mother, finds him on the road and invites him home with her and her family. This is when Michael Oher begins to
change. Leigh Anne Touhy gives him a bedroom, home, food, clothes, education and a future. Most importantly, she give him love, and a family.
Michael Oher changes when he gets a new family, and he is able to overcome obstacles with hard work, and the love and support from his new
family. The message that it delivers is that you don't have to be blood to be family. At the end of the film, the director shows Michael Oher as the
opposite person of who he was at the beginning of the film. We see that Michael Oher gets offered scholarships by many universities because he
learns how to play football, and by the hard work and determination he became a pro at it and therefore becomes a football star.
Michael Oher changes through the movie. He changes through the messages that John Lee Hancock delivers that you don't have to be blood to be
family, and that with love and support of a family, you can overcome obstacles. Just because he was black, huge and athletic, he was judged.

The Blind Side By Michael Oher
Most movies are predictable and don't connect with people in special ways. They are made for the entertainment, not to tell an actual story. Sometimes
one can dig deep into your heart and tug at the strings. The award winning movie, The Blind Side, is a true story about a less – privileged, African
American, Teenage boy,Michael Oher, who is taken in by a white Christian family, the Tuohy's. Oher is then placed on the football team and becomes
an all–star Football player with the love of the Tuohy's supporting him. Directed by John Lee Hancock and feature Sandra Bullock (Leigh Ann Touhy),
Quinton Aaron (Michael Oher) and Tim McGraw (Sean Tuohy), The Blind Side is a movie that encourages and motivates people that not all hope is
lost. Michael is out of relevance when it comes to his family and his new school. He has been raised in a drug haven, ran down side of the city, and
the Tuohy's are a rich, proper family in the middle of Memphis. Michael was homeless at the time the Tuohy's took him in. He was showering and
sleeping in his school. Once he is taken in, he is enrolled in a Christian school where he was the only colored boy in school. Being taken in by this
family really impacts Michael in ways no one would have ever thought. As you watch this movie, you experience both sadness and joy as you watch
"Big Mike" go from being homeless to becoming a famous football star. One of the saddest parts of the movie is when Mrs. Tuohy goes looking for

Importance of Identity in Anglo
J. M. Synge is one of the most prominent Irish writers of the twentieth century; his writing characterizes a broad, multifaceted range of political,
social and religious anxieties shaping Ireland for the duration of its most remarkable period of change, which transformed the place from a relatively
peaceful country to a more political and aggressive location. The picture Synge creates shows us that the question of identity relating to Ireland is
problematic; however it has produced and provoked some of the greatest literature of the century. As G. J. Watson has asserted: "However painful the
question of identity may be for the Irish in real life, it has functioned, deeply embedded as it is in the Irish political and literary... Show more content on

Ronan McDonald states: "Enter the playboy Christy Mahon. Christy's poetry, like the cultural flowering of the Ascendancy, is based on a dirty
deed that is aestheticized as a gallous story. In the course of the action it is exposed and then transcended. Christy comes to the Mayoites carrying
a mark of culpability which, in the course of the play, he is privileged to purge. Culture confronts and expiates its violent origins in the controlled
laboratory of the stage. The play comically, but unnervingly, explores the process by which violence is glorified and aestheticized. Yet it also, by a
theatrical slight of hand, reveals the violence as chimerical, and allows Christy to pass through and survive the implications of his supposed atrocity."
Ireland is shown for what it is; Synge offers us a critique which is almost satirical. There is a mystical quality to Ireland which is emphasised by its
storytelling and folklore (Shanaitue), in which the Irish are a `nation of heroes'; a notion which is explored through the figure of Christy – who is
himself a `Christ–like' figure – as he almost brings his father back from the dead in a sense. There is a sub–textual reference to the New Testament in
this father– son relationship; Christy is in conflict with his father – and in a certain respect – he is `sacrificed' when he is burnt because he did not live
up to the expectations people had of him. Synge treats the conflict between the relations with irony, and it is

Quincey ' Schoolboy Q ' Hanley
Quincey "ScHoolboy Q" Hanley was born on October 26, 1986, in Lucius D. Clay Kaserne, an American military complex in Wiesbaden, Germany, to
a couple who split up before his birth. His father remained in the Army, but Q and his mother moved to Houston, Texas. Because of the strained
relationship between his mother and father, Q was given a random last name possessed by neither parent. Shortly after moving back to the United
States, he and his mother relocated to her former home in South Central, Los Angeles. Eventually he and his mother settled on 51st Street between the
notorious Hoover Street and Figueroa Streets, both famous for the abundance of drugs and street violence. Q's mother worked as a night dispatcher

Barry Jenkins' Moonlight is a masterful queer coming–of–age story told in three parts – Two years after Richard Linklater's masterpiece Boyhood
composed a unique passage of time portraying realistic preciousness of a young man on the journey to manhood, Jenkins continues the coming–of–age
instrument further from Linklater. Diving into the brutal conditions of Miami streets, Moonlight shatters the dated template of masculinity with a
potent story of closeted homosexuality among black men. The film rises above the wrongful stereotypes associated with sexual orientation and urban
environments. Set in the predominantly African–American Liberty City neighbourhood of Miami, Moonlight unfolds in structure as numerous key

"Sky's the limit and you know that you can have, what you want, be what you want, have what you want, be what you want." This lyric by
Christopher Wallace simply states that if you want something that it is possible for you to achieve it with enough hard work. Christopher Wallace,
known to the world as the Notorious BIG was a product of the streets growing up in the ghetto of Brooklyn in the 1990s. Christopher inspired many
with his timeless lyrics reflecting the American dream from the perspective of the average poverty stricken youth. His rise to success gave hope to
the masses that if a young kid from Brooklyn can make it big, that anyone can (Wilkins). His songs and image continue to impact the world today as

This sparked the beef between east and west coast rappers that still lasts to this day. In August of 1994 he married Faith Evans. A month later in
September he released his debut album, Ready to Die (UXL). This is the album that changed his life and left an everlasting impact on the world.
With 2pac`s death occurring in the end of 1996 the beef between east and west coast rappers was at an all time high and Biggie was promoting his
second album. He played a controversial show in LA during this strand of promotional shows. The night of this show, March 9, 1997, Biggie was
shot and killed leaving the club. Going from nothing to becoming an of the biggest rappers in history is truly inspiring to many. In his lyrics he
showed the truth of the streets that many people never knew and the struggles of the everyday life for some. It wasn't a glorious journey to
stardom but more so a road with many obstacles in the way. Many of which affected his public image because being a former crack dealer and
having gang associations does not look good to the general public. Biggie however never glorified or promoted his past lifestyle with his music. He
portrayed them as motivation to make it big so that he would never have to live that kind of way again. (UXL). To go from being in and out of prison
to being an of the most successful hip–hop artists of all time is a lavish change. Christopher Wallace

If there is someone that has impacted an individual's life, then suddenly they pass away out of the blue, it can do an immense amount of damage to
ones thoughts and feelings. In the song "One Man Can Change The World" by Big Sean featuring John Legend and Kanye West it talks about Big
Sean's grandma impact on his life and everything she did for him and his family as a whole. The artist "big Sean" otherwise known as Sean Anderson
was born in Santa Monica, California but was raised in Detroit, Michigan. He was born on the west side of Detroit which can be very hard growing

The speaker in this song is anyone that experienced a tough loss. Big Sean was very close with his grandmother, she taught him how to drive and be
a man. "... She taught me how to drive and she raised the kids, then the kids' kids, and she did it right taught me how to love, taught me not to cry"
(Sean 52–54). In this line he states that she taught him how to be a man and took care of him growing up, keeping him on the right track and
staying out of trouble. Big Sean also used a lot of imagery in his song. Talking about his grandmas achievements he states "...But how am I supposed
to say I'm tired if that girl from West Virginia came up in conditions that I couldn't survive; went to war, came back alive? On top of that became a
female black captain when being black you had to extra–extra try" (Sean 45–49). Big Sean was very proud of his grandma because she became a
female black captain back when females were just being allowed in the military and there was still a very serious racism problem. In his lyrics you
can see the struggle to get what she accomplished in the times that she did it. As the reader may now see how close Sean and his grandmother were

How Does Sean Penn Use Film Techniques In Into The Wild
Thoreau once said "Not until we are lost do we begin to understand ourselves" following this Chris Mccandless adventures off into the wild on a
journey to discover himself without being surrounded by a materialistic society or his family. Sean Penn delicately crafted cinematography in the film
into the wild makes use of .... to show the challenges of family relationships, the power of words and self discovery. This is shown through the use of
many different filming techniques to emphasise a certain theme.
The director uses voice overs and cinematography perceptively to emphasise the challenges of family relationships. In the film before Chris and his
sister Carnie go to the lunch with his parents he reads her a poem– "She's the wrong woman, he's the wrong man. You are going to do bad things to

In the film there are many examples of where Penn has shown the power of words but one of the main examples shown throughout the movie is
when his younger sister Carnie does voice overs in the film. One of the main examples of this is when she said this "Chris measured himself and
those around him by a fiercely rigorous moral code. He risked what could have been a relentless lonely path but found comfort in the character of book
he loved... he could summon their words to suit any occasion, and he would often." This displays that Chris can strongly relate to many of his favourite
authors, who have been able to capture Chris's emotions, thought and feelings in their words. An establishing shot that also symbolises the power of
words, would be when the shot of Chris is just walked into the wild of Alaska in the opening scene. This establishing shot creates the idea of loneliness,
isolation and shows the purity in nature as he walks into the wildness. These show us how our words can impact others in both a negative and positive

Essay on Kingdom of Matthias by Paul E Johnson and Sean...
The Kingdom of Matthias by Paul E. Johnson and Sean Wilentz is a story of the rise and fall of a religious cult established by Robert Matthews
(Matthias). Within his kingdom, Matthias and his followers, abided by Matthias, believes of the subjugation of women by men. Even though at the
time the cult was in existence the United States was experiencing two great movements that urged the forward progression of women, the Market
Revolution and the Second Great Awakening. Two women in particular are mentioned in Johnson and Wilentz' book that were really suppressed by
Matthias and his subjects. One was Isabella van Wagenen, the slave that worked in Mount Zion and even Matthias' own daughter Isabella Matthews

In early New England textile mills, women and child labor contributed a huge effort to the production of textiles (Foner, The "Mill" Girls 264.).
Accepting women in the work place was a huge breakthrough in the progression of women's rights. In The kingdom Of Matthias, Matthias reacted to
how women are getting the rights to work as to give them tasks in the household limiting them still. Matthias believed women should only do what they
are permitted to do by their husbands. In essence, Matthias was an infamous misogynous. Matthias was a religious man as he moved from one
denomination to the next, however with this being said it showed no effect on how he treated women. "Degenerated into a nightmare of wife–beating
and child abuse."(Johnson and Wilentz) These "nightmares" changed his attitude in his adult life into the way he ruled his kingdom. In one of his
sermons Matthias said that "Women is the cap sheaf of abomination of desolation – full of deviltry", and "All women are not obedient, had better
become so soon as possible, and let the wicked spirit depart, and become vessels of truth." (Johnson and Wilentz). Matthias is clearly denouncing the
progression of women that was being made in the Nineteenth century and how he saw women in the group he had made. To add more to Matthias'
beliefs, he only saw women as items for sexual actions and for them to fulfill their positions as wives for cooking, washing, and taking

How Do Customer Relationships Give Companies A Competitive...
Question 1: How do customer relationships give companies a competitive edge?
Through sustaining the customer relationships, leaders of the company have realized that "becoming nearer to the consumer" is vital for the progression.
Together consumers and buyers of the trade have extra options through authorization from mobile and online channels that create more options to
purchase, get and give suggestions, and converse back with the companies.
Currently consumers freely turn away from any well accepted company if it does not fulfill their necessities. Through the consumer associations,
companies get the response regarding their services and products from the consumers. From this response, companies get the difficulties or the
concerns of the consumers as regards to their product such as quality concerns, difficulty to usage, and etc.
From the response of the consumers, companies make enhancements in their products as per the necessities of the consumers. From the approach or the
associations with the consumers, companies get a chance to gratify their consumers and build up a competitive edge. This mechanism facilitates
companies to stay with and goes ahead from their competition. Therefore, consumer relationships help the companies to make a competitive edge.

Over the summer I started watching "Shameless". I immediately fell in love with the shows drama and dysfunctional family. After months of begging,
I've finally convinced my roommate to start watching. While I've seen every episode, I'm watching again and realizing how important the show is. If

on things happening in your own life.
I'll start you off with the basics: Starring Emmy Rossum and William Macy, the show focuses on a very abnormalfamily, living in the ghetto of

There's also a major focus on addiction. I've already mentioned Frank is an alcoholic, and he spends all his money (from scams and disability) on

1.Messages: What are the important messages and themes of the film?
The hit blockbuster movie, The Blind Side transmits the message that we take 'so much in life for granted.' Michael Oher was a homeless adolescent
which has never had "a bed before". Therefore, he is grateful that the Touhy's brought him into their life and adopted him. One of the themes is the
need to take action. Human action is seen as a crucial element in the film as Leigh Anne takes action in helping Michael. He also listens and honours
Leigh Anne on and off the field in order for his benefit. The action which Leigh Anne adopts "[changes] that boy's life."

Homeless and traumatized, Michael "Big Mike" Oher was absorbed in Wingate Christian School through the help of his friend's father who talked to
Burt Cotton, the coach of the said school, who was fascinated and impressed by Mike's size and athleticism. Sullied and underprivileged as he was,

He found out that Leigh Anne never intended to force him to choose Ole Miss and that she was supportive of Michael's decisions. The investigator
was finally satisfied when Michael answered that he chose Ole Miss simply because his whole family had gone there. The film ended with an
emotional goodbye between Leigh Anne and Michael. Finally, he will be entering college and Leigh Anne and her family took him to the Ole Miss
campus and bid him goodbye. Unfortunately, an epilogue depicted Michael's death which was related to a gang fight in Hurt Village. He was shot and
killed harshly on his 21st birthday.
Character Analysis
Michael "Big Mike" Oher Michael was a homeless, poor and oversized African–American youngster from a broken home. He has no idea who his
father was and his mother was a drug addict. He was separated from his mother at the age of seven because his mother was involved in some drug
addiction cases. He has had little formal education and few skills to help him learn. He was taken care of by the Tuohys and was actually legally
adopted to ensure his growth as a person. He was 17 when the Tuohys found him and his presence in the Tuohys' lives led them to some insightful
self–discoveries of their own. Living in his new environment, the teen faced a completely different set of challenges to overcome. His excellence in

Maslow's Hierarchy Of Needs In The Blind Side
The Blind Side is movie that gives great examples of many relationships, basic needs, and different ways of intimacy. The importance of this movie is
not about football, and how great Michael Oher (Quinton Aaron) was at it. It was not about feeling sorry for Michael and making him famous. This
movie is about more than that, it is about doing what is right, whether you believe it or not. Michael Oher, played by Quinton Aaron is a seventeen
year old boy, struggling to survive. Having grown up in the 'ghetto' of Memphis, Tennessee with a drug addict for a mother, life was extremely hard.
Michael never had anything, especially no place to call home, and he just continued running from his fears, he ran from his mother and his family for

not only for them, but for himself as well. Quinton Aaron said in the movie, "...my whole family went to Ole Miss. Mr. Tuohy played basketball and
Mrs. Tuohy was a cheerleader..." this made him realize that Ole Miss was his new dream. Going to Tennessee I think was a dream he had before

In the Scene his adoptive mom Mrs. Tuohy helps him understand the position he is playing and how he should allude his players to his family, that

Fast Car by Wyclef Jean Analysis
When a Car is More Than Just a Car The first time I heard the song, "Fast Car" by Wyclef Jean, I really liked it because it was catchy. After
listening to it a few more times, I realized there was a lot of meaning to it. To me, the main goal of this song is to teach the young listeners a difficult
lesson to be careful before they do something that could potentially ruin their lives. Also, Jean is showing his listeners there is help out there and
tomorrow is not promised – everybody needs take advantage of their available resources so they do not harm themselves. Basically, Jean wants

The first half is, "you don't got to be no billionaire, to get a ticket up to the moon. We all know somebody up there, you need a helping hand, look,
I'm right here." Basically, Jean means everybody goes to the moon, or heaven, one day. However, a person does not have to be rich to take a trip
up there. We all know people who have passed away and gone to heaven; it is never easy to say goodbye to people who leave Earth. He wants
everyone to know that there is plenty of help on Earth. Jean does not want anybody to mess up their life to the point that it isn't worth it to fix it. This
part of the song has the most symbolic meaning. Cars symbolize the journey of life – from birth to death, just as they help you travel from one place to
another. Jean uses the verses to show literal meanings of why we need to be careful with cars; he uses the chorus to show the symbolic meaning
associated with fast cars and why they have the ability to be so dangerous. Also, he prefers not to have any hardships to control his listeners' lives
either. The verse goes on to say, "...to help you see clearly now." Jean wants to be the helping hand for everybody. Why die, when you could fix
your problems and live as a happy individual? The whole purpose of the song is to be smart and not let our cars or problems control us. The bridge
of the song emphasizes the dangers of cars. A person might be drinking or not in the right mental state to drive, however if they pick

that help them to reach their goals with their products and with promoting their product. One of these theories is the expectancy value theory. The
expectancy value theory relates to the function of the expectancies one has and the value of the goal toward which one is working. It is the theory of
motivation, focusing on expectancy. Also, the outcome of goals and motivation is determined by how much they value the goal whether they expect to
succeed. My second theory is the hypodermic needle theory. This theory associated with shooting and injecting appropriate messages to the audience
mind which causes the audience's behavior to change. This theory is also known as the magic bullet theory, the message is a bullet fired from the
media gun, which is the message to the viewer's head which is the audience. The media is the magic gun firing the message directly into the audience
head without their own knowledge the message cause the instant reaction from the audience mind. If an entrepreneur wants success with a product,

Lennon Turning Point
"If you want peace, you won't get it with violence." In discussion of John Lennon using peace to protest. I believe this point in time was important
because, He had a big impact in encouraging people to protest against subjects they feel strongly about without using violence. The following points
illustrate the importance of this turning point in time: John Lennon and Yoko Ono made a big impact together, His song "Give Peace a Chance" and
"Imagine" began the peace movement, and he was a threat to the government. John Lennon impacted me because riots are starting to increase because
people believe the only way others will listen is by violence when it is not true because as long as people fight together instead of against each other it
works much better. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
John Lennon and Yoko Ono helped each other because they were in it together. Lennon and Ono would badly want peace for the world because on
their honeymoon at Amsterdam hotel in March 1969 was used to host their first sit–in for days. They confused the world for days because of the way
they decided to protest which would lead to them being in the newspapers all over the world which they enjoyed because that would bring more
attention to what they were protesting. Yoko changed John because she was his muse to speak out about peace alongside her even though people
didn't like her because they thought she broke up the Beatles, it should also be said that if she wasn't in the picture John Lennon wouldn't of become
this big inspiration that he is today. In one of these sit–ins John Lennon and Plastic Ono Band would create a song that would continue to be used for

If I Ain T Got Me
What exactly do humans need in order to feel whole in life? We are born into the world loved, and surrounded by people. The first thing we
experience as babies is the touch of our mother's skin, surrounded by people constantly carrying you, playing with you, and smiling at you. We
grow up being taught how to act, who to be, and what to do. As we grow older, we end up making our own opinions, and behaving our own way.
Due to the events of growing up, such as break ups, losing friends, or a divorce, can make some people end up losing the few things people need to
feel whole as we grow older. People get caught up with life, and suddenly you find yourself isolated, completely consumed with work, and we end up
missing important components to make... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

characters, Michael Oher, grew up most of his life alone, without a stable home, and sad. He lost all hope that he would ever find a family, until Leigh
Anne Tuohy and Sean Tuohy take Michael in. At first, it took Michael awhile to adjust and begin interacting with them again, but he eventually
begins to feel apart of the family and there is a drastic change in his mood from the beginning of the movie to the end. Just because of other people
being around, it can affect who you are drastically, whether it's how you feel, and what you strive to do in life, the company of people help keep your

Cure Of The Streets

  • 1. Cure of the Streets The poet Rainer Maria Rilke says that "a work of art is good if it has sprung from necessity" (Farley). Hip Hop was born on the poor and dangerous streets of the USA. Minorities such as African–Americans and Hispanics dominated these streets, and they felt the need to address their long–standing common issues. Therefore, a new form of art, hip hop was born, and became the method of self–expression for these minorities. Lyrics have presented what they have been through. While rap has turned from a tool of self–expression to a multi–billion dollar industry, it has continued to constructively affect the social and economic structure of the society. While serving as a good alternative to the streets, hip hop positively uplifts the cultural barriers within the society and educates the youth. In order to better understand the necessity and the influence of hip hop, the history of how and where this music emerged is highly important. In the 1970s, Hip hop was born in the "immensely impoverished, crime–ridden, drug–infested streets of the Bronx", which were often called "America's worst slum" or "the epitome of urban failure" (Price 4). Emmett Price III, the writer of Hip Hop Culture, says that the "ostracized, marginalized, and oppressed" youth started hip hop as "a liberation movement", and they aimed to combat against "issues of racial prejudice, cultural persecution, and social, economic, and political disparities" (Price 1). From the 1970s to the 1990s, hip hop had increased ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Visually we can see that Michael's body language is conveying a sense of shyness, worry and alienation, as if Michael was in a completely different world. This shot also displays the new opportunity that is about to infold for Michael– new place and new opportunity. * The close up shot of Michael observing the 'new world' clearly conveys the curiosity and separation form the new town that surrounds him. * Dialogue– "It's a brave kid". "For wanting to come here." "For wanting a quality education". "I can tell you most young lads with his background wouldn't come within 200 miles of this place". • 3. Descriptive Essay Once having left the Brewin's place, I was back on the road pushing June's car to its limit as I made my way over to the shed. I wasn't completely sure of what my game plan would be once I got there, but I knew whatever it would be, my chances of pulling it off would be slim. I pulled onto the dirt road which led to the facility and then killed my headlamps for the rest of the brief journey. I didn't really think I had the advantage of surprise given that Lyle probably had scouts watching the road, but it just felt right to do so. Having pulled up to the shed, I parked my vehicle near the thicket where Anna and Calvin had parked the first time they brought me here. Furtively, I made my way over to the side door of the main... It was originating from up above, straight up above from where I was standing as if whatever it was–or whoever it was–was bound and gagged and strung from rafters. The noise soon increased in its resonance throughout the building and I was about to back away, hoping I could go find some sort of light source, but, that was when the lights came on. From up above me, dangled Anna suspended in chains and hung from her feet. She wore a cloth gag they had stuffed in her mouth, which she struggled to scream through after seeing me standing there under her. They had beaten her savagely. A gash had been opened up around her eye and part of her femur jettisoned out of her leg, busting through the fabric of the blue jeans she wore. "Peter!" a voice called out to me from the other side of the room. And, as I focused my attention on the area it was coming from, I saw Lyle and Kim emerge from the office rooms at the rear of the shed where the Alliance had held their private meeting area during the gathering. They were accompanied by at least two dozen other members of the Alliance, many I recognized, some I did not. "I'm so glad you made it," said Lyle as he approached. "We were worried you weren't going to show and leave poor Anna here to her termination. And, they say chivalry is dead. I guess not amongst ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Analysis Of Juicy By Christopher Wallace All over the world many have gone through or are still going through the struggle of being in poverty. You don't have to be homeless to be struggling, it could be just not have lights on in your home, past due rent, or maybe not having enough or anything at all to eat. Many have felt like just because they go through this that they will never be anything because they don't have the resources to accomplish anything in life, and other people around you who doubt you can make you believe even more that you will never amount to anything in life. Christopher Wallace aka The Notorious B.I.G. or Biggie small's song "Juicy", released in 1994 from his Ready to Die album, selling over 607,000 copies is a great example of all of this. He tells this exact story through his song about how people used to doubt him and even goes on to tell about his life in the struggle and coming up from it. Biggie makes it known throughout his entire song that he isn't ashamed of how he grew up before the wealth. I think his main point was to let people know that he will never forget and that it's the lessons he learned during those times that undisguisable got him to where he is now. Throughout the entire song Biggie tells us little parts of his past like "'Remember when I used to eat sardines for dinner" (verse 1, line 14). This is one of the things he went through was having times where would have eat like this because it was all that he had. Now honestly he didn't always go days like this, but it ... • 5. Cure of the Streets Rap was born in the 1970s as a need of African Americans, who were living in impoverished and crime–infested neighborhoods, to express the issues that they were facing. It was "a genuine reflection of the hopes, concerns, and aspirations of urban Black youth in the last quarter of the 20th century" (Powell 245). However, rap did not stay limited to African Americans. Its popularity expanded rapidly among the minorities because the problems which they were facing were the same. These problems were "a lack of access to justice, health care, voting rights, employment, and other everyday privileges of citizenship" (Price 2). Having come out of this environment, while serving as an alternative to the streets, hip hop positively uplifts the cultural barriers within the society and educates the youth. This paper argues this important topic, because in contrast to the common belief that rap is harmful to the society, it has many benefits to our youth, and its benefits socially and educationally improves our society. Since the beginning of the 1990s, when East Coast–West Coast rivalry was becoming intense and ended up with the death of two of the greatest hip hop artists, Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G, rap's influence on our society has been argued. Many claim that rap negatively effects the education of the youth. However, the studies which claim this thesis are not taking the impacts of external factors such as peer groups, other media sources, and family education into account. ... These were some of the words that I heard being preached to kids my age since I started going to youth group in 7th grade. I heard these words, and I was excited. I was excited, but also nervous, and scared, but hopeful at the same time: hopeful that one day I would find my calling for my life. I would wonder my thoughts, thinking, what is my calling going to be? And where is it going to take me? Am I going to be called to be a Pastor at a church? Is the church going to be small? Will it be huge? Will it be far away? Or will I be called to be a missionary? Will I be called to go preach the gospel to thousands of civilians in East Africa? Or will I just be called to be a one on one counselor? Whatever it was, I couldn't wait for God to tell me what it was. A year or two went by, and people all around me were receiving their calling. My sister was called into Worship ministry, and my older brother was called to be a youth pastor. My friends were being called to be missionaries, doctors, counselors, pastors, and all other sorts of things. And there I was, still waiting to receive my calling. At first glance the common adage, "Necessity is the mother of all inventions," appears to account for the character of Robinson Crusoe; however, further analysis suggests that the intelligence, industriousness, and optimism are inherent to Crusoe's personality.Sir Francis Bacon so aptly stated, "Prosperity doth best discover vice; but adversity doth best discover virtue." The format of the novel itself, that of a journal, indicates that Crusoe is highly educated so that he is able to write and express his thoughts clearly. Furthermore, Crusoe's hard working nature forces him to do more than what is strictly necessary in order to sustain himself. When unloading the cargo off the ship, he works endlessly until the task is completed although he could have taken a lighter approach to the job. Rather than being complacent about his comforts Crusoe was industrious and salvages all that he could from the ship. Crusoe also gathers on his twelfth and last trip little knickknacks like coins and razor blades. • 12. The Blind Side Michael Oher Analysis In the film The Blind Side, directed by John Lee Hancock, one important character that changes throughout the film is Michael Oher. John Lee Hancock delivers an important message that you don't have to be blood to be family, and that with love and support you can overcome obstacles. John Lee Hancock shows the audience that this is true and that the love and support of a family can change a whole person's life, as we get to see the changes to Michael Oher's life. John Lee Hancock used the film techniques of close ups, over the shoulder and reverse angle shots, and dialogue to show how Michael Oher changes. Michael Oher is an important character in the film, The Blind Side. Throughout the film this important character changes because of the love and support he gets from a family. At the beginning of the film we see Michael Oher as a big black boy, who's homeless, is uneducated, he's poor, unwanted, quiet, shy and has no confidence. One freezing, wet night he has nowhere to go. Leigh Anne Tuohy, a white, wealthy, well–dressed, confident, happily married mother, finds him on the road and invites him home with her and her family. This is when Michael Oher begins to change. Leigh Anne Touhy gives him a bedroom, home, food, clothes, education and a future. Most importantly, she give him love, and a family. Michael Oher changes when he gets a new family, and he is able to overcome obstacles with hard work, and the love and support from his new family. The message that it delivers is that you don't have to be blood to be family. At the end of the film, the director shows Michael Oher as the opposite person of who he was at the beginning of the film. We see that Michael Oher gets offered scholarships by many universities because he learns how to play football, and by the hard work and determination he became a pro at it and therefore becomes a football star. Michael Oher changes through the movie. He changes through the messages that John Lee Hancock delivers that you don't have to be blood to be family, and that with love and support of a family, you can overcome obstacles. • 16. Importance of Identity in Anglo J. M. Synge is one of the most prominent Irish writers of the twentieth century; his writing characterizes a broad, multifaceted range of political, social and religious anxieties shaping Ireland for the duration of its most remarkable period of change, which transformed the place from a relatively peaceful country to a more political and aggressive location. The picture Synge creates shows us that the question of identity relating to Ireland is problematic; however it has produced and provoked some of the greatest literature of the century. As G. J. Watson has asserted: "However painful the question of identity may be for the Irish in real life, it has functioned, deeply embedded as it is in the Irish political and literary... Christy's poetry, like the cultural flowering of the Ascendancy, is based on a dirty deed that is aestheticized as a gallous story. In the course of the action it is exposed and then transcended. Christy comes to the Mayoites carrying a mark of culpability which, in the course of the play, he is privileged to purge. Culture confronts and expiates its violent origins in the controlled laboratory of the stage. The play comically, but unnervingly, explores the process by which violence is glorified and aestheticized. Yet it also, by a theatrical slight of hand, reveals the violence as chimerical, and allows Christy to pass through and survive the implications of his supposed atrocity." Ireland is shown for what it is; Synge offers us a critique which is almost satirical. There is a mystical quality to Ireland which is emphasised by its storytelling and folklore (Shanaitue), in which the Irish are a `nation of heroes'; a notion which is explored through the figure of Christy – who is himself a `Christ–like' figure – as he almost brings his father back from the dead in a sense. There is a sub–textual reference to the New Testament in this father– son relationship; Christy is in conflict with his father – and in a certain respect – he is `sacrificed' when he is burnt because he did not live up to the expectations people had of him. Synge treats the conflict between the relations with irony, and it is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Moonlight is one of few films that really hit home, so much so that I have spent this last day creating this blog to write about it. Not really sure if this will become a thing. Barry Jenkins' Moonlight is a masterful queer coming–of–age story told in three parts – Two years after Richard Linklater's masterpiece Boyhood composed a unique passage of time portraying realistic preciousness of a young man on the journey to manhood, Jenkins continues the coming–of–age instrument further from Linklater. Diving into the brutal conditions of Miami streets, Moonlight shatters the dated template of masculinity with a potent story of closeted homosexuality among black men. The film rises above the wrongful stereotypes associated with sexual orientation and urban environments. Set in the predominantly African–American Liberty City neighbourhood of Miami, Moonlight unfolds in structure as numerous key turning points in the life of a boy named Chiron. Through sustaining the customer relationships, leaders of the company have realized that "becoming nearer to the consumer" is vital for the progression. From this response, companies get the difficulties or the concerns of the consumers as regards to their product such as quality concerns, difficulty to usage, and etc. From the response of the consumers, companies make enhancements in their products as per the necessities of the consumers. • 32. Fast Car by Wyclef Jean Analysis When a Car is More Than Just a Car The first time I heard the song, "Fast Car" by Wyclef Jean, I really liked it because it was catchy. After listening to it a few more times, I realized there was a lot of meaning to it. To me, the main goal of this song is to teach the young listeners a difficult lesson to be careful before they do something that could potentially ruin their lives. Also, Jean is showing his listeners there is help out there and tomorrow is not promised – everybody needs take advantage of their available resources so they do not harm themselves. Basically, Jean wants everyone to be careful with the life that they currently have rather than wasting time here on earth. Jean explains his story by using a type of music that ... We all know somebody up there, you need a helping hand, look, I'm right here." Basically, Jean means everybody goes to the moon, or heaven, one day. However, a person does not have to be rich to take a trip up there. We all know people who have passed away and gone to heaven; it is never easy to say goodbye to people who leave Earth. He wants everyone to know that there is plenty of help on Earth. Jean does not want anybody to mess up their life to the point that it isn't worth it to fix it. This part of the song has the most symbolic meaning. Cars symbolize the journey of life – from birth to death, just as they help you travel from one place to another. Jean uses the verses to show literal meanings of why we need to be careful with cars; he uses the chorus to show the symbolic meaning associated with fast cars and why they have the ability to be so dangerous. Also, he prefers not to have any hardships to control his listeners' lives either. The verse goes on to say, "...to help you see clearly now." Jean wants to be the helping hand for everybody. Why die, when you could fix your problems and live as a happy individual? The whole purpose of the song is to be smart and not let our cars or problems control us. The bridge of the song emphasizes the dangers of cars. A person might be drinking or not in the right mental state to drive, however if they pick ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Towards the end of the novel, McMurphy's humor and influence on the men have made them more confident and have finally allowed them to overcome the power of the Nurse. Through McMurphy's actions, the men are less afraid of her and more willing to challenge her authority. This is mostly seen in the scenes where they vote to get what they want like the game room, the World Series, a basketball team, and a fishing trip. How do entrepreneur success and how they become successful with producing themselves, products, or organizations? Public Relations play a major part in the success for business. Public relation strategies have helped entrepreneurs and organizations producing products for customer's interest for wealth. There are also theories that entrepreneurs and organizations use that help them to reach their goals with their products and with promoting their product. One of these theories is the expectancy value theory. The expectancy value theory relates to the function of the expectancies one has and the value of the goal toward which one is working. It is the theory of motivation, focusing on expectancy. Also, the outcome of goals and motivation is determined by how much they value the goal whether they expect to succeed. My second theory is the hypodermic needle theory. This theory associated with shooting and injecting appropriate messages to the audience mind which causes the audience's behavior to change. This theory is also known as the magic bullet theory, the message is a bullet fired from the media gun, which is the message to the viewer's head which is the audience.
