The Count Of Monte Cristo Research Paper
I read two books in the summer vacation – "The Count of Monte Cristo" and "The Joy luck Club".
"The Count of Monte Cristo" is talking about that a sailor who name is Edmond Dantes will become
the captain of pharaon and will also get marry with a pretty girl. Danglars and Fernand were jealous
of the lucky of Edmond, and wrote a fake letter so Edmond was put into jail. When Edmond escaped
from jail, he pretend the count of the Monte Cristo and began to revenge. Instead of "The Count of
Monte Cristo", "The Joy Luck Club" was talking about the stories of four different Chinese women
who immigrated to America and their daughters. Two different books but have many similarities.
Edmond and these four different women were all strong when they met difficulties. After the best
friend of Edmond and his dad died, Edmond did not give up his life but be strong to revenge these
bad guys. In "The Joy Luck Club", four women had different unfortunate experiences, but they did
not give up and came to America begin their new lives. Although the friends of Edmond betrayed
him, Edmond still had a kind–hearted and helped those people who had helped him before. Edmond
still loved those people. Although four women and their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
"The Count of Monte Cristo" was talking about political struggle and how Edmond revenged bad
guys. "The Joy luck Club" was talking about what happened before these four women came to

me understand that God is fair for everyone. Bad people who did many bad things will have
retribution. "The Joy Luck Club" let me understand that the love of mother is great and warm. Even

Research Paper On The Count Of Monte Cristo
When someone wants revenge, nobody knows how far one will go to complete he or she's
vengeance. The characters of The Count of Monte Cristo did not know there would even be
vengeance to be taken until Dantes, the main character, shows up after many years. That is when all
the trouble and malevolence happens. This novel written by Alexander Dumas is about a man whom
gets wrongfully thrown in jail and, after gaining a fortune, plans and sets action to long term
revenge. The Count of Monte Cristo was originally published in the Journal des Debats, a French
newspaper in eighteen parts. It was then published as a book by Petion, running in two editions. The
English book translation was published by Geo Pierce in January 1846. The book is with fictional
characters, but the events are based on a prisoner scientist named Deodat de Dolomieu. GoodReads
rates it a 4.5 out of 5 stars, while a similar book due to the scandalous plots in it named Les Liaisons
Dangereuses, is rated 4 out of 5 stars. Another classic novel, named Ben–Hur: A Tale of the Christ,
was inspired by The Count of Monte Cristo. The part that was inspired by the novel was the revenge
plot that leads to love. The Guardian exclaims, "Monte Cristo is the acme of Alexander Dumas
pere's oeuvre, demonstrating his inimitable mastery of high adventure, deadly intrigue, revenge, and
general derring–do"(Williams, The Guardian). One may choose this book because it becomes ...

Doolittle Raid Research Paper
In 1942, airstrikes from the United States would invade the Japanese homeland, and the Japanese
people would cheer on the Americans. The Japanese and the Americans were enemies due to Japan
bombing Pearl Harbor. Japan was confused and thought the American aircrafts were Japan's
aircrafts. The American aircrafts were about to bomb Japan, which would lead to a morale boost for
America during World War II. Rocket from the Tombs was known to have a crazy existence, and
would soon divide and members would form a new band called Pere Ubu. Pere Ubu wrote a song
about this revengeful event. "The Doolittle Raid" was an event that boosted morale in World War II.

were captured by the Japanese, and four of these men were executed ("Doolittle Raid, 1942" 2).
Several other crew members were killed while descending by parachute, and some drowned

Summary Of The Three Musketeers
The book I read is called The Three Musketeers. The Three Musketeers was written by Alexandre
Dumas. Here is an example of an in text MLA citation of the book. "In those times panics were
common, and few days passed without some city or other registering in its archives an event of this
kind." – (Dumas 6).
At the beginning of the book, we are introduced to a young man named D'Artagnan, who in which,
left his home in a division in France, to make money in Paris. His father gave him some gifts
because of his sons departure. The gifts included a old yellow horse, fifteen ecus in money, and a
introduction letter to the head of the King's Musketeers, Monsieur de Treville. The King's
Musketeers was an elite group of soldiers that were the bodyguards to the Queen and King of France
at the time. His father gives him some advice, noting that he should guide himself by his courage
and intelligence. Also, he should only take criticism from the King and the Cardinal . After their
brief discussion, D'Artagnan's mother gives him an herb cream that will heal any of his battle
wounds at a fast rate. Giving their goodbyes, D'Artagnan heads out on his journey to Paris.
Reaching his first stop, angered D'Artagnan arrives in the small town of Meung. He then gets into a
fight with a man who makes fun of his horse. D'Artagnan gets beaten unconsciously by a group of
the man's servants. Getting his senses, D'Artagnan sees the man talking to a beautiful woman in a
carriage, whom he called, "Milady." Preparing to leave town, D'Artagnan finds that the man stole
his letter to Monsieur de Treville.
Saddened, D'Artagnan rides out for Paris. Here, he finds the home of Monsieur de Treville which is
guarded immensely by Musketeers, who in which secure Trevilles home and courtyard, tell stories,
and mock the Cardinal. D'Artagnan is sent to Trevilles chamber. Before D'Artagnan and Treville
speak, Treville calls in Aramis and Porthos, his two Musketeers. Aramish is a young man that
worries a lot about his appearance, and was recently heard saying, that he was going to join the
Church. Porthos is a loud, large, hefty Musketeer, that shows off his attire.
Treville scolds the two Musketeers and their absent companion, Athos, for a skirmish with

Argument On Santa Clauses
Santa Claus was well–known as a kind man who had a long white bread, wore big red–white clothes
and carried children's gifts with his flying reindeers as a vehicle. Christians all around the world
have had Santa traditions since the 1820's, which is lying children to believe in Santa, hang a sock
on the window, behave nicely and go to bed early so that Santa can come and give them presents
(Sleepypanda 2013). Until December 2016, psychologists claimed that Santa myth could destroy
children's trust to parents. "All children will eventually find out they've been consistently lied to for
years, and this might make them wonder what other lies they've been told," (Boyle & McKay 2016)
Based on my experience, when I was in elementary school, I remember the time that my English
teacher asked us to write postcard, she said that she would send the most beautiful postcard in the
class to Santa Clause, so we put high effort to create an outstanding postcard. They also asked us to
behave nicely for all day because Santa would come to the room and gave good children a present.
In that time, the reason I believed what they lied because I thought that teacher always teach student
the true and right thing, so they must tell us the truth as well. But, as time goes ... Show more

harmfulness to children. Moreover, Dr. Matthew Lober, a child psychiatrist at Lenox Hill Hospital in

The Count Of Monte Cristo Summary
The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas was completed in 1844, and is one of his most
well–known works, along with The Three Musketeers. Originally published in the Journal des
Débats in a serial of eighteen parts, the novel appeared in book form in Paris by Pétion in 18
volumes with the first two issued in 1844 and the remaining sixteen in 1845. The story takes place
in France, Italy, and islands in the Mediterranean Sea in 1815–1839. This means that the story
occurs during the era of the Bourbon Restoration, and begins just before the Hundred Days period.
The story follows Edmond Dantès through the changes in personality in an attempt to seek revenge
on those who ruined his almost perfect life. Dumas seeks to show the results of jealousy and
revenge, love and happiness in this literary classic. The story opens in Marseilles with a crowd
watching the ship Pharaon come into port. Among the crowd is the owner of the ship, Monsieur
Morrel, who is informed that the captain of the ship passed away at sea. The ship's first mate, and
the protagonist, Dantès assures Morrel that the ship ran smoothly after the loss of the captain. The
ship's supercargo Danglars, jealous of Dantès abilities and praise, tries to tarnish the laudation by
informing Morrel that Dantès made a stop at Elba. Dantès replies it was under the wishes of the
captain, to which Morrel congratulates him for following the man's dying wishes. Morrel declares
that after speaking to his partner, Dantès

The Count Of Monte Cristo Analysis
Le Château d'If is an important building in The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
because, not only does it introduce the conflict of the plot and allow the narrative and motivation of
Edmond Dantès to be set, it is also presented as an embodiment of many of the themes prominent
throughout the novel. The story is set in 19th century France during and immediately after
Napoleon's fall from power. As such, politics and the ways of the justice system are quite frequently
outlined in the novel including the government's regulations for managing criminals. Le Château d'If
is a small representation of the bigger political scene happening at that time as it is one of the many
prisons that exists to hold those found guilty of criminal charges – a prison that is unsanitary,
inhospitable and unjust, common during the 19th century. Le Château d'If in particular is a state
prison "only used for important political offenders" (Dumas 40) insinuating that any person acting in
an unorthodox manner against the King is automatically a far more deleterious offender than those
simply robbing, hard–drinking, and murdering and must therefore be isolated from the rest of
society (le Château d'If is situated on an island in the middle of Baie de Marseilles). However, the
suspicious and fallacious conditions of Dantès' arrest allow the reader to discern that during a period
of paranoia and struggle the French authorities do not reasonably judge the suspects and instead
immediately condemn any

The Middle East : International Politics And Economics...
The Middle East leaves one of the largest stains on the consciousness of international relations. The
Arab – Israeli conflict was quickly emerging as one of the largest issues within the region. In
particular, the Israeli – Palestinian conflict became a bloody and violent conflict that world powers
along with neighboring countries to use for their gains. The Middle East has historically been a
contentious playing ground for world powers, this very strategic location offered militaristic
advantages and a gateway between Europe and the Far East. The Middle East has consistently
proved its importance in international politics and economics during World War II, the discovery of
oil, and the Cold War; coupled with the internal political instability and contention between world
powers, it has become a region of much unrest and constant conflict.
After the atrocities of World War II along with the birth of Zionism to empower the Jewish people a
home was chosen in the land of Palestine an area with a rich history to the Jewish people. The
creation of the state of Israel in 1948, recognized by the Palestinian people as 'Yawm an–Nakba'
meaning day of catastrophe, the dynamics of Middle Eastern politics would dramatically change.
The Arab – Israeli conflict is one of the bloodiest, uncontrollable, protracted and resentful conflicts
within the modern era of international relations. The seemingly never–ending conflict between two
dominating ideologies that bring with it a mass of

Count Of Monte Cristo Revenge Quotes
Douglas Horton once said, "While seeking revenge, dig two graves – one for yourself". The Count
of Monte Cristo, a truly captivating novel written by Alexandre Dumas, lives to tell the tale of a
young French Sailor, Edmond Dantés, who is forced to spend fourteen years in prison due to the
actions of his jealous enemies or so–called "friends". When he eventually escapes, he is left with the
feelings of a strong hatred and a thirst for revenge which sets him up to be the man he develops into
throughout the novel. Throughout the novel, the Count of Monte Cristo seeks relentless revenge on
all of the people who had wronged him many years ago. Dantés, completely unrecognizable after
being freed, became only a prisoner of himself due to his need ... Show more content on

Dantés states, "Can I have been following a false path for ten years?" (Dumas 497). It is then that
the Count of Monte Cristo realizes that he is not the privileged person of God's providence, but
merely a victim like everyone else. Dantés now abandons the idea that he must get revenge on
everyone and realizes that he has made a mistake and wasted a part of his life. Dantés says, "How
stupid I was ... not to have torn my heart out the day I swore to avenge myself!" (Dumas 379).
Dantés finally realizes that revenge is not everything and that the result isn't happiness and
fulfillment like he thought, but it's an emptiness that leaves you with

One reason, bringing happiness and joy to everyone around, shines through in today's society. In the
morning, children wake up gloomy, but on Christmas morning children wake up with a huge smile
on their face and jump up and down because of the excitement of the presents Santa brought them.
The happiness that Santa brings does not go to just the child, but passes all around from various
family members and even strangers. In a store when a child sees Santa, they get all excited and
happy. When strangers or older family members see this happiness, it makes them happy and helps
them look forward to something happy even if they go through hard times during the holidays.
Besides the happiness that Santa brings, the belief of Santa helps develop a child into who they are.
A child develops maturity over time and once they reach a certain age they stop believing or they
question if Santa exists. Even though the kid does not believe in Santa anymore, the happiness that
the child brought to everyone is never forgotten. The child develops opinions and beliefs over time
and the Santa myth helps that child do this. Besides the maturity and development, the Santa myth
brings hope to people. No matter what people go through in their lives, they must remain hopeful
and they should have something to look forward to. When people see how much happiness their
child is bringing to those around them, it gives them hope that

What Is The Difference Between David And Dumas
When there is two well known books and in these stories there are two men that are placed to
showcase their true personalities. For The Three Musketeers it's D'Artagnan, who want his success

they both share some qualities like their youth and many others. Alexander Dumas and Samuel, the
authors, both gives many situations to display both D'Artagnan's and David's character. D'Artagnan

1. Edmond Dantes was a simple and humble sailor who fell victim when his jealous partners frame
him towards a political situation. Surrounded by tragedies during his imprisonment, such as his only
companion, Abbe Faria, dying along with his aging father starving himself to death. Prison changes
him however, entering an honest man and exiting as a resentful one. He becomes the Count of
Monte Cristo when he goes to an island that Faria described to him and finds treasure. He becomes
the Count of Monte Cristo because with all his millions, he can purchase anything he wants and can
get revenge and punish his greedy colleagues.
2. Danglars, Ferdnand Montego, and Caderousse are three major enemies who conspired to imprison

monetary gain. For Danglars, Monte Cristo arranges for some signals to be changed. As a result,

Three symbols are the sea, the red silk purse, and the elixir. The sea symbolizes rebirth, since after
he escapes prison and rises out of the water, he is a changed person. He entered prison as an honest
person and exited a vengeful one. Dantes' elixir is an overestimation of his own power just as he
relies on the elixir's power too much. For example, when confronted with Edward's corpse, his first
instinct is to use his potion. But of course, it's not strong enough to give life, just like how Dantes
isn't a god and how he can't bring back people from the dead. The red silk purse was used to show
that Morrel's debts were paid off, since inside the purse was all of Morrel's paid bills, plus a
diamond for Julie's work. One quote that illustrates this is on page 218. The book says, " "My
father!" cried [Julie], out of breath, and half dead with joy –– "saved, you are saved!" And she threw
herself into his arms, holding in her extended hand a red, netted silk purse.

Christmas : A Short Story : The Story Of Christmas
It was four days before when Christmas, Doug Walker turned on the radio to listen to the local

When she entered the room, he switched stations, trying to find the beginning of the news. Doug

something bizarre was going on at June Hick's home on Walnut Street. Arriving at the residence, the

Monte Cristo Inequality
Alexandre Dumas' The Count of Monte Cristo expresses the story of a man named Edmond Dantès
who is framed by friends and others, and, therefore, suffers a swift and tragic demise. Dantès then
proceeds to carry out an elaborate revenge scheme against all who wronged him. Although not a
traditional feminist novel, The Count of Monte Cristo does exhibit many strong, female characters
as exemplified by, but not limited to, Haydée, Eugénie, and Mercédès. Women in this novel still
tend to remain subordinate to Monte Cristo, but so do the men. The only blatant inequality is of that
between Monte Cristo and the remaining characters, not between men and women. Dumas' inclusion
of well–developed, diverse, and courageous female characters results in an ... Show more content on

Since the first day Mercédès saw the Count of Monte Cristo, she knew he was her past love,
Edmond Dantès. However, she never unveiled this knowledge until now. Greeting Monte Cristo
with a powerful yet startling exclamation, Mercédès says, "Don't kill my son, Edmond!" (Dumas
311). Courageously, Mercédès proceeds, and discovers the truth of the tragedy of Edmond Dantès
and the malign role Fernand, her husband, played in it. Even with startling information, she is able
to appeal to the Edmond Dantès in Monte Cristo and is given his word that he will not kill her son,
Albert, in the duel. The strength and courage it must have taken her to reconvene with who was once

My Experience In My Life
My entire life has been full of three of me. My brother, my sister, and myself. I say three of me
because my siblings and I are the same age. We were all born on the third of June in nineteen
ninety–nine. It has always been this way – the three of us. We are the musketeers, always by each
other's side. We have been through ups and downs and everything in between. For the past eighteen
years, all I have known was my siblings and the comfort that they bring. Not only are they the other
two–thirds to my life, but they are my best friends. Jaelyn and Dakota (my sister and brother,
respectively) are my guidance, security, and sanity. For as long as I can remember, my other thirds
were always there for me. They continue to be there for me today. My brother (although a minute
younger) is the tall presence in my life that knows when I need a gentle push. He knows when to
make me uncomfortable so that I can learn. On the other hand, my sister knows when I need to
escape and be comforted. She realizes when I become overwhelmed and need to get out of a
situation fast. Just as they do those tasks for me, they depend on me to do the same. This has turned
me into the mother hen that I am today. I realize when someone is uncomfortable and how to handle
that. The experience that my siblings provided to me when we were younger allows me to guide my
new friends in the right path. Dakota and Jaelyn have enabled me to help others because I help my

The Count Of Monte Cristo Analysis
In the 19th century novel, The Count of Monte Cristo, the count states, "In return for slow, deep,
infinite, eternal pain, I should return as nearly as possible a pain equivalent to the one inflicted on
me. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth" (Dumas 385). There are many different viewpoints in the
world of what is right and what is wrong, influencing the common theme of justice in many literary
works today. Subjects of justice can be seen and compared in pieces of literature and religious texts
such as the Bible and The Count of Monte Cristo written by Alexandre Dumas. These pieces
demonstrate how two important characters, Edmond Dantés and Joseph from the Old Testament,
perceive and carry out justice in certain situations. Both faced with feelings of backstabbing
betrayal, Edmond Dantés and Joseph differ in their responses, leading to either revenge or
forgiveness. Both Edmond Dantés and Joseph experience betrayal when they are wrongly accused
and punished by the people they love out of spite and jealousy. After being framed by his friends
and coworkers, Edmond Dantés is falsely accused of committing treason and thrown into prison
because they envied his exemplary life. Later in the novel, Edmond confronts Villefort, who was
involved in foreseeing Edmond's conviction, and reveals the tremendous amount of suffering
Villefort along with Caderousse, Danglars and Fernand cast him through: "You condemned me to a
slow and frightful death, you killed my father and you

The Count Of Monte Cristo Analysis
"All human wisdom is contained in these two words, 'Wait and Hope." These words in some
translations and abridgments conclude the novel "The Count of Monte Cristo" by Alexander Dumas.
In the story, multiple characters demonstrate Hope, including Mercedes, Dantes, and Maximillian,
as it is the theme of the book, and represents a lesson worth applying. These words and the idea
seem to resonate throughout the story and somehow in every individual. One specific character in
the novel who exemplifies this theme is Mercedes De Morcerf. Although given a tragic hand in her
life Mercedes continues to demonstrate her ability to wait and hope for her dreams and better
circumstances. In fact, shortly after being introduced in the book she proves the inherent nature of
this ability in a conversation with Fernand where she declares, " Yes, I will not deny it, I do await,
and I do love him to whom you allude; and, if he does not return, instead of accusing him of the
inconstancy which you insinuate, I will tell you that he died loving me and me only." In this quote
from page 16, Mercedes insinuates that she has a sense of wait and hope about her life, currently her
love life, as she patiently awaits her sweetheart home, and if he does not return she would still
maintain the hope that he had sought to for her. Later in the book, after many of the tragedies, we
meet Mercedes again, this time conversing with Dantes, who still wants to propose to her, but
realizing she does not wish to hear

The Theme of "The Count of Monte Cristo" In the book, "The Count of Monte Cristo", the character
Edmond Dantes has changed an outrageous amount throughout the entire book. Everything thing he
has been through specifically taught him one thing. God is in control of every aspect of your life.
Towards the beginning of the book, he is content with everything in his life. He thanks god for
everything he's given him. Edmond says, "God is always more powerful than man" (Dumas 21). He
is a strong believer and often relates back to god and the fact that everything is his will. As the plot
line progresses Edmond gets betrayed, attempts to seek revenge, finds treasure, and becomes the

Summary and Arragnement of the Book, Count of Monte Cristo...
Book Tittle: Count of Monte Cristo Genre: Fiction Author: Alexandre Dumas Number of Pages: 634
Summary and "Arrangement" of the book: The general arrangement of the book is that it is broken
up into short, event–oriented chapters. Each chapter focuses specifically on the details f a single
event with little deviance in terms of the story line. The chapters build upon each other in a way that
creates a well–rounded understanding of the protagonist Edmond Dantés' life. The fist four chapters
focus on Dantés accomplishments and his success. Dumas highlights all that is positive in Dantés'
life such as him becoming captain of the Pharaon at such a young age and that he is finally able to
marry the love of his life, Mercedes. The fourth chapter is the turning point in which Dantés' life
turns from joy to suffering. Chapters five and six are where Dantés' fate is decided. He is captured
on suspicion of being a Bonapartist, however, upon examination, the officer Villefort decides that
Dantés is innocent and is prepared to grant him his freedom and release him from all charges until
Dantés let slip the name of whom he was unintentionally meant to deliver a Bonapartist letter to.
Villefort recognizes the name and address to be that of his own father. In protecting his reputation,
Villefort burns the letter and has Dantés imprisoned in the Château D'If. Chapter seven only
finalizes the decision of Villefort to imprison the innocent man to save

Unity
A very good morning I bid to the panel of honourable judges, dedicated teachers, my fellow

we all know about the story "Three Musketeers" which is a classic English novel written by
Alexander Dumas. D'Artagnan, Athos, Porthos and Aramis are always united facing the challenges
in their lives. When Cardinal Richelieu's guards appear to arrest d'Artagnan and the three
musketeers, the four men win the battle that follows even though they are outnumbered. The reason
for their success was that they were united according to their famous motto "All for one and one for

External Conflict In The Count Of Monte Cristo By...
The historical fiction novel titled The Count of Monte Cristo was written by the well–known French
aristocrat Alexandre Dumas. The book was originally published in French in 1844 but later on, after
being a huge success in France, was translated into English and many other languages. Originally
having over 1000 pages, an abridged version, published by the Penguin Group (copyright 2005),
contains only 509 due to the exclusion of some parts of the actual story. The story takes place in
France, Italy, and the islands of the Mediterranean in 1815 during the rivalry between the Royalists
and the Bonapartists. The main character, Edmond Dantès, is shown being about to get married to
his fiancé, Mercédès, until he is framed for treason by three of his enemies, Danglars, Fernand, and
Villefort. Throughout the story supporting characters including Valentine (Villefort's daughter),
Albert (Fernand and Mercédès's son), Haydee (Dantès's second love interest), and Maximilian
(Monsieur Morrel's son) appear as Dantès experiences an external conflict with his rivals. Alexandre
Dumas uses third person omniscient point of view, allowing the readers to know most of the
characters thoughts and plans while still using an aspect of suspense to make sure the story is still
intriguing. In the story, Edmond Dantès gets framed for treason causing him to get arrested and
making him unable to get married to his betrothed, Mercédès. In prison, Dantès makes a vow to get

How Is Edmund Different From The Count Of Monte Cristo
The Count of Monte Cristo by Kevin Reynolds was a movie that told a story involving two
characters, Edmund Dantes and Fernand Mondego. These two men may seem to be complete
opposites, but this is not the complete case. Edmund and Fernand both have many similarities along
with many differences.
Edmund Dantes has many different traits compared to Fernand Mondego. At first, Edmund was a
kind and honest person. He lived to care about and show generosity to those who were in his life.
Edmund was very naive about the bad nature of all individuals. Also unlike Mondego, Edmund went
through a major change of character and mindset in the midst of the movie. His whole personality
flipped to its opposing side. Edmund turned into a vengeful soul that only dreamed of seeking
revenge, and he fully believed to his core that he had to avenge the wrongs that had been committed
against him. The bitter and hate filled man he had became then reared a small amount back to his
beginning personality, a man full of care for his loved ones. ... Show more content on

First, Fernand was an extremely jealous man. He was never happy as long as Edmund looked
happier, and when Edmund was happier, this filled Fernand with envy towards him. Fernand was the
ultimate definition of a backstabber. He had a large craving to take his friend's place, so he betrayed
him when he was assumed to be trustworthy. Similar to that trait, Fernand was also majorly unloyal.
Besides having gone against his own best friend, Fernand was never afraid to fight against his own
country for the right price, and he did not mind innocent people having to die in exchange for
money. Also unlike Dantes, Fernand was very lustful for wealth. He used his own smuggling skills
and sense of treachery in warfare to obtain his large amount of wealth. Fernand's character and

Negative Essay : Santa Claus, Joll Or Folly
Santa Claus, Jolly or Folly
What's the most wonderful time of the year? Christmas of course, but this also happens to be the
best holiday for deceiving your vulnerable and trusting children. By lying to your kids about Santa,
you are setting them up to be skeptical of your future judgement and authority. It can also negatively
affect the bond of trust all parents want to experience with their kids.
As most children grow up they believe everything their parents tell them. Even when the parents tell
them something completely outlandish. For example, a man dressed in a red coat lives at the top of
the world, travels all the way around the world in one night, gets everyone the toys they asked for,
and eats cookies at every house he stops at. They accept this without question, because why would
their parents lie to them. I mean why would parents, all over the globe lie to their children about
Santa Claus? One reason in particular is selfish gain. When you lie to your kids and they readily
gobble up the complete misconception of christmas, you see how inferior they are to you and how
much you're in control of what they believe.
One argument is that there's no evidence that believing in santa can harm a child in anyway, but I
beg to differ. Anytime you ask an adult about when they found out santa was fake, they always
remember it, and they often talk about it as a traumatic event, and how christmas was never the
same after the magic was shown to be just a rouse. This shows that

What Is D Artagnan Flawed
The character D'Artagnan was flawed. In the beginning, the movie portrayed D'Artagnan as a great
swordsman and can defend himself if needed; he was even going to fight all of the musketeers! The
problem is that D'Artagnan got himself knocked out or kidnapped quite a few times. I understand
that he is new to this "musketeer life," but to be worthy of the position he should have been less
reckless and more skillful in his fighting. Another thing is when D'Artagnan and Athos got into a
rough situation, he left Athos. The Musketeers' motto is, "all for one and one for all," after all. Athos
was proving that he is a musketeer for a reason, and he threatened D'Artagnan to leave. Athos was
risking his life for the safety of the King and Queen, and the people of France; that is what a
musketeer should be doing. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
D'Artagnan should have either stayed and helped, or he should have sent someone to help Athos.
Instead, he left him all alone. Another character who should have gotten help was Constance. When
D'Artagnan was fighting the man who had killed his father, it was apparent that Constance had just
watched because after D'Artagnan won, she went and held his hand. She could have gotten help
from a musketeer or a townsperson. I understand that he, rightfully so, should be the one to avenge
his father, but for a good bit, D'Artagnan looked like he was going to lose the fight. In all, I thought
that Constance was a useless person. She never helped or did anything besides add in a little
romance. On the topic of romance, the movie should have focused a bit more on Athos and Milady

How Is The Three Americans Alike
In the story of The Three Musketeers d'Artagnan compares and contrast quite well to David from the

with this they are both loyal to the one they are fighting for. Although, just like all of us they have
their struggles which make them different from other average people.
In The Three musketeers d'Artagnan is described as a person who is quick to try and fight. He would
try to fight anyone who would make fun of him or even look at him weird. In the beginning of the

The Count Of Monte Cristo Analysis
The Count of Monte Cristo is a novel written by Alexandre Dumas in 1844. Published by Tom
Doherty Associates in New York, the book is widespread and contains 580 pages of historical
fiction. The novel takes place in 19th century Europe. Throughout the book readers follow the life of
the protagonist, Edmond Dantés, as well as the lives of the antagonists: Danglers, Caderousse
(somewhat), Fernand, and Villefort. This omniscient pov shows readers that the reason why the
antagonists act against Dantés is because they are jealous of Dantés because of his optimal life as
well as Dantés' own thoughts on the matter. The conflict is external because of the Man vs Man
story line. The story starts off on the 24th of February, 1815, where Dantés, the first mate on the
Pharaon arrives back in Marseilles where he is promoted to Captain status and leaves to meets up
with his father, Louis Dantès, and his fiancé, Mercédès. Soon after, Danglars, Caderousse, Fernand

Comparing Julius Caesar And Yitzhak Rabin

Julius Caesar and Yitzhak Rabin
History, it either repeats itself or we learn and grow from the mistakes of others. In history we had
not so great men and we had more than great men, the way they thought, their actions, and their war
tactics shaped the modern day leaders. The peace maker, and the king among kings share a lot of
things in history like war and peace, home life, and love lives. In this essay I will be talking about
Julius Caesar and Yitzhak Rabin lives in history and comparing these two great leaders in history.
It is hard to say when Julius Caesar was born, but it is estimated that he was born July 12 or 13, 100
BC. His family are far from rich, He is the son of Gaius Caesar and Aurelia Caesar, however his
father died when he was 16 so he stayed very close to his mother. Caesar married a nobleman's
daughter name Cornelia, they both had a daughter, Julia Caesaris, but sadly Cornelia died in 69 BC.
Two years later he marries the granddaughter of the dictator Sulla, Pompeia, they were married for
five years before they were divorce. He married for the final time to a young lady, Calpurnia, whom
will stay with him till the end, even though he had numerous mistresses including Cleopatra VII,
whom she had a baster son name Caesarion. Raging with anger, the dictator Sulla demanded that
Caesar either divorced or loss all his land, he instead joined the military. Before Sulla died, Caesar
and a couple of his closest friends convince him to let Caesar back into Rome. Caesar rose to power,
others got jealous and even one of the leaders were not fully over his enemy, however Caesar,
Marcus Licinius Crassus, and Pompey became known as the First Triumvirate. Once again Caesar
shows his abilities as someone who can negotiate and unit people together. Soon after however
Pompey grew more and more jealous of his partner, while Crassus never got over his disdain for
Pompey. All three patch things up for a little while in 56 BC in Luca, Caesar already ruled a
territorial and extended for another five years, gave Crassus a five – year term in Syria and gave
Spain to Pompey for Five years as well. Three years later Crassus was killed in a terrible battle in

Instead of "The Count of Monte Cristo", "The Joy Luck Club" was talking about the stories of four different Chinese women who immigrated to America and their daughters. After the best friend of Edmond and his dad died, Edmond did not give up his life but be strong to revenge these bad guys. • 3. Research Paper On The Count Of Monte Cristo When someone wants revenge, nobody knows how far one will go to complete he or she's vengeance. The characters of The Count of Monte Cristo did not know there would even be vengeance to be taken until Dantes, the main character, shows up after many years. That is when all the trouble and malevolence happens. This novel written by Alexander Dumas is about a man whom gets wrongfully thrown in jail and, after gaining a fortune, plans and sets action to long term revenge. The Count of Monte Cristo was originally published in the Journal des Debats, a French newspaper in eighteen parts. It was then published as a book by Petion, running in two editions. The English book translation was published by Geo Pierce in January 1846. The book is with fictional characters, but the events are based on a prisoner scientist named Deodat de Dolomieu. GoodReads rates it a 4.5 out of 5 stars, while a similar book due to the scandalous plots in it named Les Liaisons Dangereuses, is rated 4 out of 5 stars. Another classic novel, named Ben–Hur: A Tale of the Christ, was inspired by The Count of Monte Cristo. The part that was inspired by the novel was the revenge plot that leads to love. The Guardian exclaims, "Monte Cristo is the acme of Alexander Dumas pere's oeuvre, demonstrating his inimitable mastery of high adventure, deadly intrigue, revenge, and general derring–do"(Williams, The Guardian). The Japanese and the Americans were enemies due to Japan bombing Pearl Harbor. Japan was confused and thought the American aircrafts were Japan's aircrafts. The American aircrafts were about to bomb Japan, which would lead to a morale boost for America during World War II. Rocket from the Tombs was known to have a crazy existence, and would soon divide and members would form a new band called Pere Ubu. Pere Ubu wrote a song about this revengeful event. At the beginning of the book, we are introduced to a young man named D'Artagnan, who in which, left his home in a division in France, to make money in Paris. His father gave him some gifts because of his sons departure. The gifts included a old yellow horse, fifteen ecus in money, and a introduction letter to the head of the King's Musketeers, Monsieur de Treville. The King's Musketeers was an elite group of soldiers that were the bodyguards to the Queen and King of France at the time. • 9. Argument On Santa Clauses Santa Claus was well–known as a kind man who had a long white bread, wore big red–white clothes and carried children's gifts with his flying reindeers as a vehicle. Christians all around the world have had Santa traditions since the 1820's, which is lying children to believe in Santa, hang a sock on the window, behave nicely and go to bed early so that Santa can come and give them presents (Sleepypanda 2013). Until December 2016, psychologists claimed that Santa myth could destroy children's trust to parents. "All children will eventually find out they've been consistently lied to for years, and this might make them wonder what other lies they've been told," (Boyle & McKay 2016) Based on my experience, when I was in elementary school, I remember the time that my English teacher asked us to write postcard, she said that she would send the most beautiful postcard in the class to Santa Clause, so we put high effort to create an outstanding postcard. They also asked us to behave nicely for all day because Santa would come to the room and gave good children a present. • 11. The Count Of Monte Cristo Summary The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas was completed in 1844, and is one of his most well–known works, along with The Three Musketeers. Originally published in the Journal des Débats in a serial of eighteen parts, the novel appeared in book form in Paris by Pétion in 18 volumes with the first two issued in 1844 and the remaining sixteen in 1845. The story takes place in France, Italy, and islands in the Mediterranean Sea in 1815–1839. This means that the story occurs during the era of the Bourbon Restoration, and begins just before the Hundred Days period. The story follows Edmond Dantès through the changes in personality in an attempt to seek revenge on those who ruined his almost perfect life. Dumas seeks to show the results of jealousy and revenge, love and happiness in this literary classic. The story opens in Marseilles with a crowd watching the ship Pharaon come into port. Among the crowd is the owner of the ship, Monsieur Morrel, who is informed that the captain of the ship passed away at sea. The ship's first mate, and the protagonist, Dantès assures Morrel that the ship ran smoothly after the loss of the captain. The ship's supercargo Danglars, jealous of Dantès abilities and praise, tries to tarnish the laudation by informing Morrel that Dantès made a stop at Elba. Dantès replies it was under the wishes of the captain, to which Morrel congratulates him for following the man's dying wishes. Morrel declares that after speaking to his partner, Dantès ... • 13. The Count Of Monte Cristo Analysis Le Château d'If is an important building in The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas because, not only does it introduce the conflict of the plot and allow the narrative and motivation of Edmond Dantès to be set, it is also presented as an embodiment of many of the themes prominent throughout the novel. The story is set in 19th century France during and immediately after Napoleon's fall from power. As such, politics and the ways of the justice system are quite frequently outlined in the novel including the government's regulations for managing criminals. Le Château d'If is a small representation of the bigger political scene happening at that time as it is one of the many prisons that exists to hold those found guilty of criminal charges – a prison that is unsanitary, inhospitable and unjust, common during the 19th century. Le Château d'If in particular is a state prison "only used for important political offenders" (Dumas 40) insinuating that any person acting in an unorthodox manner against the King is automatically a far more deleterious offender than those simply robbing, hard–drinking, and murdering and must therefore be isolated from the rest of society (le Château d'If is situated on an island in the middle of Baie de Marseilles). However, the suspicious and fallacious conditions of Dantès' arrest allow the reader to discern that during a period of paranoia and struggle the French authorities do not reasonably judge the suspects and instead immediately condemn any ... The Arab – Israeli conflict was quickly emerging as one of the largest issues within the region. In particular, the Israeli – Palestinian conflict became a bloody and violent conflict that world powers along with neighboring countries to use for their gains. The Middle East has historically been a contentious playing ground for world powers, this very strategic location offered militaristic advantages and a gateway between Europe and the Far East. The Middle East has consistently proved its importance in international politics and economics during World War II, the discovery of oil, and the Cold War; coupled with the internal political instability and contention between world powers, it has become a region of much unrest and constant conflict. After the atrocities of World War II along with the birth of Zionism to empower the Jewish people a home was chosen in the land of Palestine an area with a rich history to the Jewish people. The creation of the state of Israel in 1948, recognized by the Palestinian people as 'Yawm an–Nakba' meaning day of catastrophe, the dynamics of Middle Eastern politics would dramatically change. One reason, bringing happiness and joy to everyone around, shines through in today's society. In the morning, children wake up gloomy, but on Christmas morning children wake up with a huge smile on their face and jump up and down because of the excitement of the presents Santa brought them. The happiness that Santa brings does not go to just the child, but passes all around from various family members and even strangers. In a store when a child sees Santa, they get all excited and happy. When strangers or older family members see this happiness, it makes them happy and helps them look forward to something happy even if they go through hard times during the holidays. Besides the happiness that Santa brings, the belief of Santa helps develop a child into who they are. A child develops maturity over time and once they reach a certain age they stop believing or they question if Santa exists. Even though the kid does not believe in Santa anymore, the happiness that the child brought to everyone is never forgotten. The child develops opinions and beliefs over time and the Santa myth helps that child do this. Besides the maturity and development, the Santa myth brings hope to people. Three symbols are the sea, the red silk purse, and the elixir. The sea symbolizes rebirth, since after he escapes prison and rises out of the water, he is a changed person. He entered prison as an honest person and exited a vengeful one. Dantes' elixir is an overestimation of his own power just as he relies on the elixir's power too much. For example, when confronted with Edward's corpse, his first instinct is to use his potion. But of course, it's not strong enough to give life, just like how Dantes isn't a god and how he can't bring back people from the dead. The red silk purse was used to show that Morrel's debts were paid off, since inside the purse was all of Morrel's paid bills, plus a diamond for Julie's work. One quote that illustrates this is on page 218. The book says, " "My father!" cried [Julie], out of breath, and half dead with joy –– "saved, you are saved!" • 27. Christmas : A Short Story : The Story Of Christmas It was four days before when Christmas, Doug Walker turned on the radio to listen to the local traffic while he dressed for work. He listened as the announcer discussed a miracle in their small town, "Parents are in an uproar trying to convince their children Santa Claus doesn't grant everyone's Christmas' wish. No one can explain the perfect gifts found on front porches all over the city." Turning up the radio, Doug called out, "Hey, Nancy, did you hear about the 'nutty' things happening around here?" When she entered the room, he switched stations, trying to find the beginning of the news. Doug stopped when he heard the announcer say, "This morning, around 7:00 police received a call that something bizarre was going on at June Hick's home on Walnut Street. Arriving at the residence, the officers found several neighbors gathered in the living room, trying to determine who left an envelope filled with cash taped to their screen door. Although June Hicks and her young daughter, Annie lived alone, she didn't hear anything during the night." Turning off the radio, Doug left for work. +++ When Annie heard about the money, she began jumping up and down, shouting, "Momma, Santa Claus granted my wish, now grandma can spend Christmas with us." • 29. Monte Cristo Inequality Alexandre Dumas' The Count of Monte Cristo expresses the story of a man named Edmond Dantès who is framed by friends and others, and, therefore, suffers a swift and tragic demise. Dantès then proceeds to carry out an elaborate revenge scheme against all who wronged him. Although not a traditional feminist novel, The Count of Monte Cristo does exhibit many strong, female characters as exemplified by, but not limited to, Haydée, Eugénie, and Mercédès. Women in this novel still tend to remain subordinate to Monte Cristo, but so do the men. The only blatant inequality is of that between Monte Cristo and the remaining characters, not between men and women. Dumas' inclusion of well–developed, diverse, and courageous female characters results in an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since the first day Mercédès saw the Count of Monte Cristo, she knew he was her past love, Edmond Dantès. However, she never unveiled this knowledge until now. Greeting Monte Cristo with a powerful yet startling exclamation, Mercédès says, "Don't kill my son, Edmond!" (Dumas 311). Courageously, Mercédès proceeds, and discovers the truth of the tragedy of Edmond Dantès and the malign role Fernand, her husband, played in it. Even with startling information, she is able to appeal to the Edmond Dantès in Monte Cristo and is given his word that he will not kill her son, Albert, in the duel. The strength and courage it must have taken her to reconvene with who was once the love of her life after all these years is admirable from a man and woman's perspective. In The Count of Monte Cristo, Dumas gives both his male and female characters courageous qualities. Albert is courageous in challenging Monte Cristo to a duel, and so is Mercédès when she visits Monte Cristo and saves Albert's life. • 33. My Experience In My Life My entire life has been full of three of me. My brother, my sister, and myself. I say three of me because my siblings and I are the same age. We were all born on the third of June in nineteen ninety–nine. It has always been this way – the three of us. We are the musketeers, always by each other's side. We have been through ups and downs and everything in between. For the past eighteen years, all I have known was my siblings and the comfort that they bring. Not only are they the other two–thirds to my life, but they are my best friends. Jaelyn and Dakota (my sister and brother, respectively) are my guidance, security, and sanity. For as long as I can remember, my other thirds were always there for me. They continue to be there for me today. My brother (although a minute younger) is the tall presence in my life that knows when I need a gentle push. He knows when to make me uncomfortable so that I can learn. On the other hand, my sister knows when I need to escape and be comforted. She realizes when I become overwhelmed and need to get out of a situation fast. Just as they do those tasks for me, they depend on me to do the same. This has turned me into the mother hen that I am today. I realize when someone is uncomfortable and how to handle that. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth" (Dumas 385). There are many different viewpoints in the world of what is right and what is wrong, influencing the common theme of justice in many literary works today. Subjects of justice can be seen and compared in pieces of literature and religious texts such as the Bible and The Count of Monte Cristo written by Alexandre Dumas. These pieces demonstrate how two important characters, Edmond Dantés and Joseph from the Old Testament, perceive and carry out justice in certain situations. Both faced with feelings of backstabbing betrayal, Edmond Dantés and Joseph differ in their responses, leading to either revenge or forgiveness. Both Edmond Dantés and Joseph experience betrayal when they are wrongly accused and punished by the people they love out of spite and jealousy. After being framed by his friends and coworkers, Edmond Dantés is falsely accused of committing treason and thrown into prison because they envied his exemplary life. Later in the novel, Edmond confronts Villefort, who was involved in foreseeing Edmond's conviction, and reveals the tremendous amount of suffering Villefort along with Caderousse, Danglars and Fernand cast him through: "You condemned me to a slow and frightful death, you killed my father and you ... • 43. The Count Of Monte Cristo Analysis "All human wisdom is contained in these two words, 'Wait and Hope." These words in some translations and abridgments conclude the novel "The Count of Monte Cristo" by Alexander Dumas. In the story, multiple characters demonstrate Hope, including Mercedes, Dantes, and Maximillian, as it is the theme of the book, and represents a lesson worth applying. These words and the idea seem to resonate throughout the story and somehow in every individual. One specific character in the novel who exemplifies this theme is Mercedes De Morcerf. Although given a tragic hand in her life Mercedes continues to demonstrate her ability to wait and hope for her dreams and better circumstances. In fact, shortly after being introduced in the book she proves the inherent nature of this ability in a conversation with Fernand where she declares, " Yes, I will not deny it, I do await, and I do love him to whom you allude; and, if he does not return, instead of accusing him of the inconstancy which you insinuate, I will tell you that he died loving me and me only." In this quote from page 16, Mercedes insinuates that she has a sense of wait and hope about her life, currently her love life, as she patiently awaits her sweetheart home, and if he does not return she would still maintain the hope that he had sought to for her. Later in the book, after many of the tragedies, we meet Mercedes again, this time conversing with Dantes, who still wants to propose to her, but realizing she does not wish to hear ... These two men may seem to be complete opposites, but this is not the complete case. Edmund and Fernand both have many similarities along with many differences. Edmund Dantes has many different traits compared to Fernand Mondego. At first, Edmund was a kind and honest person. He lived to care about and show generosity to those who were in his life. Edmund was very naive about the bad nature of all individuals. Also unlike Mondego, Edmund went through a major change of character and mindset in the midst of the movie. His whole personality flipped to its opposing side. Edmund turned into a vengeful soul that only dreamed of seeking revenge, and he fully believed to his core that he had to avenge the wrongs that had been committed against him. • 59. Negative Essay : Santa Claus, Joll Or Folly Santa Claus, Jolly or Folly What's the most wonderful time of the year? Christmas of course, but this also happens to be the best holiday for deceiving your vulnerable and trusting children. By lying to your kids about Santa, you are setting them up to be skeptical of your future judgement and authority. It can also negatively affect the bond of trust all parents want to experience with their kids. As most children grow up they believe everything their parents tell them. Even when the parents tell them something completely outlandish. For example, a man dressed in a red coat lives at the top of the world, travels all the way around the world in one night, gets everyone the toys they asked for, and eats cookies at every house he stops at. They accept this without question, because why would their parents lie to them. I mean why would parents, all over the globe lie to their children about Santa Claus? One reason in particular is selfish gain. When you lie to your kids and they readily gobble up the complete misconception of christmas, you see how inferior they are to you and how much you're in control of what they believe. One argument is that there's no evidence that believing in santa can harm a child in anyway, but I beg to differ. Anytime you ask an adult about when they found out santa was fake, they always remember it, and they often talk about it as a traumatic event, and how christmas was never the same after the magic was shown to be just a rouse. I understand that he is new to this "musketeer life," but to be worthy of the position he should have been less reckless and more skillful in his fighting. Another thing is when D'Artagnan and Athos got into a rough situation, he left Athos. The Musketeers' motto is, "all for one and one for all," after all. • 75. The Count Of Monte Cristo Analysis The Count of Monte Cristo is a novel written by Alexandre Dumas in 1844. Published by Tom Doherty Associates in New York, the book is widespread and contains 580 pages of historical fiction. The novel takes place in 19th century Europe. Throughout the book readers follow the life of the protagonist, Edmond Dantés, as well as the lives of the antagonists: Danglers, Caderousse (somewhat), Fernand, and Villefort.
