JD Sports Review
I feel as though our JD Sports radio show went better than our first E6 Radio
show because we had more practice and knew how to use the mixing board
better, we knew how to connect with the audience and how the programme that
we was using worked. I researched into JD Sports and looked up who the
celebrity faces were and what items were the most popular. The celebs they
used were usually well known athletes such as footballers like Ronaldo and
Rooney etc. This is why we mentioned celebs in our show to show there
different tweets on the different products.
Once we’d finished our show we sat in a focus group with people in our class and
reviewed our show so they could tell us what they liked and disliked. A lot of
people in the class shopped at DJ so they said if these songs came on in DJ they
would enjoy that- they liked how we interacted with the audience reading out
tweets and how we go celebs involved. I feel as though because the target
audience was teens it made our focus groups more accurate with their
responses. A lot of people had different opinions on DJ sports; some people
classed the shop as a ‘lower class’ shop because it’s stereotyped from ‘chavs’
whereas really DJ is quite expensive for the stuff it sells.
Instead of writing a script like we did with our E6 radio we improvised more and
tried to make it sound more like us. But I think that we still sounded robotic
because we still felt like we too scripted. Instead of writing what we was going
to say we briefly put the artist or the song and just wrote the promotions and
offers which I researched on JD twitter page to get there latest deals. But I
do feel like what we said was professional and believable enough.
My personal opinion is that this JD sports was a lot easier to organise than the
E6. This was mostly because we knew what to expect when we was creating our
show and pre-production and especially because we didn’t have to do a 10 minute
segment our speech was more fluent which overall made it sound a lot more
professional.
