Introduction
Companies strive to choose not only the best marketing channels, but also the best profitable channel.
A profitable channel can promote and successfully sell out of a product that might not otherwise turn
a profit for their producers (New Charter University 2015). "The calculations from the cost
accountant for the retail segment accounts were 60 percent of sales, and for the foodservice segment
accounts were 40 percent. The cost accountant believes that both channels are profitable. The
accountant also believes that the company achieves an overall average gross margin of 60 percent on
its sales (Bowersox, D. J., Closs, D. J., Cooper, M. B., ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Current Issues
Packaging and labeling of products are other key essential parts of the Cooper Company logistics to
provide satisfaction to their customers. Accurate packaging and labeling can have a direct impact on
the Cooper Company logistical productivity and efficiency (Bowersox, D. J., Closs, D. J., Cooper, M.

How Can You Become A Better Leader?
In this website, you will be able to find information about how you can become a better leader in
relevance to the subject of organizing. On this website, you will be able to learn in great detail about 3
different lessons which are all related to the topic of organizing. Along with this, you will also be able
to view a case study done on a business which is based around challenges that the organization faces
in terms of organizing. Elemental Inc. Currently at Element Inc., there are many problems that need
to be resolved, in order to prevent our talented employees from leaving our company. As one of the
current leaders of the Human Resources department of the company, I have a few suggestions I'd like
to make in order to help our company reach success and eliminate this problem. The issue we have at
hand is that, all of our highly–talented employees are leaving to work for other companies. Since we
are such a small business, we cannot afford to lose our talented employees. With each employee we
lose, we must replace. This leads to many costs related to finding replacements and overall, this
causes a disruption to occur in the company. Due to Elemental Inc. being a particularly small
business, the employees we have trained become captivated by larger businesses as they lure them in
by offering "more" benefits at work. We must make a change as soon as possible as this problem has
been occurring for many years, and the loss of valuable employees is becoming a huge hassle

From Britney Spears And Justin Timberlake
From Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake to the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus, the "Disney
Machine" has produced numerous superstars that continue to be relevant in todays pop culture. No
other empire has managed to produce talent quite like Disney. So, how does the Walt Disney
Company do it? They combine fresh new talent with money, power, and a ton of control to produce
shows and artists that are constantly influencing pop culture. A large number of today 's pop stars are
tied to Disney in one way or another.
The Walt Disney Company is a multi–billion dollar powerhouse with many different revenue sources
including the Disney parks and cruises, Pixar Animation, Disney Channel, Radio Disney, and many
more. Even though it is such a successful company, there are some things that are not very great about
it, one of those being how the company treats its stars. Many former Disney stars have expressed their
unhappiness with the company since cutting ties years ago. Celebrities such as Joe Jonas, Miley
Cyrus, and Cole Sprouse have all recently discussed their issues with the megacorp. However, before
we get to that, let 's start at the beginning. Disney Channel, the focus in this paper, was officially
launched in April of 1983. The channel is marketed toward children, teens, and families, calling itself
a "family–oriented" cable channel. Disney 's Channel first hit show, Kids Incorporated, launched in
early 1986. The sitcom was about a group of friends who formed a pop group.

Prime time or primetime is the block of broadcast programming during the middle of the evening for
television programming. The term prime time is often defined in terms of a fixed time period–for
example, from 19:00 to 22:00 (Central and Mountain Time) or 20:00 to 23:00(Eastern and Pacific
Time) (7 p.m. to 10 p.m. or 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.). As a jocular reference, the phrase "not ready for prime
time" has come to mean" not quite perfected". (wikipeida.org)
News professionals agree on the; east seven main factors that help them determine if an event has
consequence, if it is news.
a. Impact: How many people does the event affect? How seriously does it affect them? – Here, the
news writer or the reporter has to think about the importance of the news to the audiences. They will
have to think about the acceptance of audio, what they want to know and to be informed. Like– When
there is a devastating Rain fall in our country; the mass people wouldn't be interested to know what is
happening or what day is being stop in the country.
b. Proximity: An event will be more important if it is closer to the readers. A conflagration in a
particular area is not as interesting as one that is close to the home. For more instance, the mass
audience of our country would be eager to know about the recent facts and happening about Hartal

Spread of United States Culture through Technology Essay
Abstract
In today's society, the way in which information is spread drastically differs from that of yesterday,
especially in different parts of the world – more specifically, the Commonwealth of Nations.
As the United States continues to dominate almost every aspect of the world, including culture, many
different nations scurry to keep up with them, sometimes adopting an identity which is in great
contrast to their own, and in many cases, shadow their own identity as a whole. With the ever–
advancing technology, the spreading of U.S. culture seems to be easier, and this has many countries
worried. Hence, a reason – or need – to censor what enters the country via print, airwaves or Internet.

Some governments are uncomfortable with the fact that the United States seems to pose a better
lifestyle to their people and try to limit the amount of American shows imported, or the amount of
time the shows are viewed.
In Jamaica, for instance, there is currently one local television station, the JBC (Jamaica Broadcasting
Corporation). However, it does not broadcast until late afternoon (around 4 or 5 o'clock). The first
half–hour is cartoons (imported from the United States). Then, for the next two to three hours there is
nothing but local programs, including news, gardening and cooking shows, local sitcoms, the most
popular being "Lime Tree Lane," "Titus," and the long–running "Oliver at Large," all of which
contain Jamaican actors. The quality of the shows is shoddy mainly because there is not much of a
budget and resources are limited.
Most of the citizens – especially those without a satellite – do not see an American on television until
later in the evening (around 8 or 9 o'clock), and it is only for a couple of hours, as the station quits
broadcasting for the day at around 11. The government does this in an attempt to lessen the influence
of American culture on their society.
In the Bahamas the story is a little different. There is one local television station, ZNS (Zephyr
Nassau Sunshine), however, most people own satellites and antennae, allowing them to receive more
stations. The government sees nothing wrong with this, and to some

Lovato's Acting Career
Both Lovato's mother and father were involved in the music industry, so it only made sense she would
one day fall in love with music as well. Not only was her mother a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, she
was also a recording country music artist (Cruz, 2015). Her father, Patrick Lovato, was a musician
and a sound engineer. Lovato, herself, got into music at a young age, when she sang Celine Dion's,
My Heart Will Go On, at her kindergarten talent show. From then on, her mother and sisters knew she
was gifted, and music would have a major impact on her life. Lovato's music and acting career
initially began in the pageant industry (Lovato et al., & Davis, 2017). Both she and her sister, Dallas,
were in pageants growing up, thus providing her first taste of the spotlight. From there, Lovato got

This initial acting part sparked many other small character roles for Lovato. After Barney & Friends,
she was cast in small parts in television shows such as Prison Break and Just Jordan (Cruz, 2015).
These led to her being casted as Charlotte in the Disney Channel show, As the Bell Rings, this would
become her first larger character role (Cruz, 2015; Lovato et al., & Davis, 2017). Being casted in the
Disney Channel show, As the Bell Rings, would crack the door for Lovato to one day become a
Disney celebrity. However, Lovato would not become well–known until she landed the leading role
of Mitchie Torres in the Disney movie, Camp Rock, which premiered in June of 2008 (Lovato et al.,

Abstract
In this paper I will explore the subject media and the effect on today's society. The research
information was gathered from two websites. The role the media plays in delivering the media to the
public is an important fact covered in this essay. The significance of news media on culture and
society is huge and changing from day to day. The social responsibility the news media has regarding
ethical and legal compliance online. A few of the key supporting thoughts are as follows. The

disadvantages of modern delivery. The changes in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The media is to entertain, but more important to inform and to avoid conflicts of interest. News
markets would love to earn the respect of their viewers. Providing the truth and the most breaking
news this improves their ratings. Once the news media violates that trust people will find another
form to get their news. The media has a huge influence on the public opinion. The media and their
owners need to be held to high levels of accountability. They should stay in compliance with the laws,
codes, and regulations. The legal and ethical issues for the online community are the same as if it
were not online. Oftentimes it is easy to violate these online than if gathering information from the
textbook or encyclopedia. It can very easy to post a picture and if this picture has a copyright then it
would be a violation of copyright infringement laws. Sometimes it is easy to miss this and we often
use material found on the Internet without permission. There can be legal ramifications from this
action. Technology is a part of our everyday lives and our world. The way the news and information
is reaches our homes has improved considerably over the last 20 years. Technology is a science and
offers areas of study in regard to this science. Some advantages of the modern delivery is the
convenience of reaching many people at one time. This is helpful for many reasons a few include

There was no private electronic media in Bangladesh until 1998 when the Awami League government
allowed for the first time the operation of private television channel, Ekuskey Television (ETV). The
country 's first private and terrestrial TV channel ETV gained popularity for its style of news
presentation. It was shut down after the High Court found its licensing process illegal, dealing a
serious blow to the growth of private electronic journalism in Bangladesh.
Sources close to the electronic media named a good number of organisations that applied for

They also fiercely compete with established networks for independently produced shows.
Additionally, relatively new entrants into the market such as Hulu and Netflix are offering direct to
consumer subscriptions, undermining the traditional distribution model (Exhibit 3). There are also
significantly more agreements being formed and more collaboration happening within the value chain
between key players, for instance, traditional broadcast TV stations are forming agreements with new
entrants like SlingTV to offer their channels live in an effort to stay relevant and accessible given the
changing landscape. "Today 78 percent of U.S consumers subscribe to at least one OTT service." [3]
This is reflected in the declining tradition TV subscribers across the industry, with AMC Networks
seeing declines across key channels most notably the AMC channel with a –4.5% decline in
subscribers from 2015 – 2017, IFC with a –2.7% decline and BBC America –9.0% decline over the
same period.

Technology : Evidence Of Best Practices
IV. Harnessing Technology
Evidence of "best practices"
While J.Crew is not known for having a mobile app or being public about their technological tricks,
they are no stranger to using the Internet to get their messages and style across. J.Crew has a strong
presence on social media platforms such as Instagram and Twitter. They tweet constantly and post
pictures multiple times a day. This keeps the customers involved in the retail experience. Often times
J.Crew will post pictures on Instagram simply of leaders of the company featuring their clothing.

clothing. This merchandise can then be shipped to the customer's house with free shipping. More and
more businesses like J.Crew are doing this because not only does it raise sales in the brick and mortar
stores but it also urges customers to come to the stores to shop.
Another way J Crew collects information is through its online ordering system. When a customer
checks out, they are able to create an account that holds the billing information and shipping address.
J Crew then has access to all the necessary information they need to send you catalogs in the mail or
emails or upcoming promotion. This is a great tool to use to keep the customer interested and cross
them into all channels the J Crew has to offer.
Database development and management J Crew, like other omni channel retailers, has a lot of data to

manufacturing, and distribution J Crew used a third party data collector. This way the company has
all the data organized in one place and can focus on the integrity of the brand. J Crew also uses a

How Has Communication Changed In The Past Century?
How has communication changed in the past century? Before that question is answered, one must
know what communication is. The book defines communication as the process of transmitting and
understanding information. Communication is also known as the task of imparting ideas and making
oneself understood to others. Good communication can ultimately affect a business's profit. For
example, the way a waitress speaks to a customer could directly influence the sales of a restaurant.
She could talk a table into purchasing another drink or she could make the guest run for the door.
Effective communication plays a pivotal role in the workplace. Effective communication is
accomplished when the transfer of information, meaning and understanding from a sender to a
receiver is successful. Therefore, effective communication requires a two–way exchange of the proper
information. Achieving effective communication is vital to being a successful supervisor. This is
because the majority of the day is spent giving and receiving information. Just like a parent that wants
their child to feel comfortable talking to them about things, a supervisor wants to encourage an
environment for their employees to communicate. Therefore, a supervisor must know how to receive
information and understand the messages sent by employees. Also, just as entry–level employees
must understand their supervisor's instructions, a supervisor must also be able to fully understand
messages given to them from high–level

America And The American Dream
Land of Opportunity, Home of the Brave, and Land of the Free often come to mind when envisioning
the United States for most individuals around the world. Through the media, America and the
American Dream is depicted as the salvation for poverty, sorrow, and hardship. The Founding Fathers
invented the American Dream, offering life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Unfortunately, an
abundance of immigrants were falling short of possessing the American Dream and slowly began to
realize that these alluring portrayals were merely a facade. Wealthy and influential corporations
needed to revitalize the American Dream before it would dissolve amongst the masses. In order to
keep American deception ongoing, a new American Dream was implemented into society. This time,
it was not affecting individuals' careers and lifestyles, it was affecting their identity and their
consumerist behavior. The 'American Dream' embodies the accessibility of opportunities, the longing
for social acceptance, and the yearn for economic acquisition (awk). Consumerism harvests this

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Liras
It is obvious to us all how fast the e–commerce sector has grown in our country and in the world.
Indeed, it had been estimated that the trading volume would reach the level of 54, 4 billion Turkish
Liras at the end of 2015 if it, which achieved 30% growth in the first six months of 2015, kept up the
same growth speed in the other half of the year. Within such a coherently growing sector, it has lately
been observed that some e–commerce brands have a paradigm shift towards opening physical stores;
that is, they have a tendency towards starting up physical stores instead of remaining online only. This
system is called "click to brick". Such hybrid structures, which provide a combination of the digital

Online–offline channel integration can increase tendency of customer to do research shoping. It
means researching from one channel, buying from another channel
Channels may have different specialities by nature on some product or pricing strategies. Then,
complementing eachother can be hard for them.
Lastly, channel integration can become a zero–sum game. While one side is getting all the
advantages, disadvantages can get together totally in the other side
For taking all the advantages and minimizing the disadvantages above mentioned, it is essential to
manage integration process properly for companies who are doing e–commerce and opened up or
planning open up physical stores now. Having "right content" is the vital part of this story, what a
surprise ! Herein, the content of online store should support integration in every sense. In other

Sirens were blaring throughout the city. A fall of darkness seemed to cover what was a beautiful,
warm, August day. Residents began to panic and scrambled to the nearest television to discover what
was going on. "Breaking news. Streets without power. Millions without lights. A sudden and
devastating blackout left many of our neighboring counties, cities, and towns in the dark", the
anchorman announced on the television. The local city had not been affected by whatever mystery
disaster had taken place, but many began to fear that this town was next. Loved ones began calling

Youths sports; advantage or disadvantage?
Organized sports is a part of the everyday–life for children all over the world. Football, basketball,

despite what sports it is, you get to feel a team spirit and meet new friends. That sport–activities also

to be a marvelous idea. But due to lack of time and high expenses, which the participitation in

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Communication System
Bureaucracy, Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Working Practices necessary to ensure

Network channels of communication, their benefits and implications are not considered. Teams are

of multiple access technology, through which several number of transmitter can send information in a

only possible if we can integrate more and more functionality into a single chip which helps achieve

concept that is nanotechnology. Nano implies 10^(–9) which is very small . After nano scale
development, the scientists of the semiconductor had faced many challenges. The greater challenge
was how to combine the Intellectual properties(IP) from various sources quickly and efficiently.
These have been overcome by introducing system on chip technology which is very grooming topic

The Effects Of Media On Young Girls Around The World
Everyday television, film, advertisement and music industries deliver contradicting messages to
young girls around the world, especially in well technology developed nations like US. They create
mayhem and confusion among adolescents, who are trying to find themselves, fit in and safely pass
into womanhood stage. At home and school girls are being taught how important it is to obtain
education, career, learn responsibilities as well as how to become great mothers and wives, take care
of the house and act like ladies. But as soon as they turn on TV, open a magazine or log into the
Internet they are being taken for a roller coaster ride, which may seem like a lot of fun at first, but
going further it becomes a struggle and pulls teens further and further away from their culture and
values presented by loved ones. They are being flooded with fake images of happiness achieved by
purchasing a certain product, ability to fit in by wearing fashionable clothes and leaving a moment
without worrying about the consequences that will follow reckless behavior. Media are guilty of
supplying young minds with garbage just to make a quick dollar and don't care about the future of
next generations. In my essay I would like to provide some examples how television, film, ads and
music create whirlwinds of emotional and cultural contradictions in young girls. To begin, worldwide

The government collects basic information on a person and then makes sure they
understand how a government functions before they can vote. This would ideally mean that you
would have well educated and informed voters who are easy contact. Having read about Mrs.
Hamer's experience trying to register to vote makes the situation seems, for a lack of a better
term, less black and white. The system doesn't scream corruption. It makes it easy for moderates

invented by the grandfather of cartoons, Walt Disney. Walt Disney's first sound cartoon was called
Steamboat Willie. People in theaters were very impressed about this and people even bought tickets a
second time to watch it. In my opinion Sound cartoon is the most important invention in America due
to its history and how people reacted when they first saw it. A long time ago before sound cartoon,
people would watch a scene and after that scene they would display worlds which would describe
what they were saying. That would be a terrible time to be living. These are the good days where
sound surrounds us in every way possible. Sound is all around you and you don't even notice it. From

Fairy Tales : The Story Of A Fairy Story
As a child, I wanted to know the difference between what was real, and what was not. I wanted to be

stories that have been told throughout many generations. Fairy Tales can affect us the same way as a
dream through the thought of a mystery and stories that stimulate our own thoughts. I have
experienced many fairy tales throughout my childhood, such as the story of Santa Claus, Stephen
King It", and the Disney Channel movie " The Cheetah Girls."
It was Christmas Eve, I was at my grandmother's house with my family getting prepared for
Christmas morning. However, My grandmother and mother wanted the children to stay in the back
room while they were wrapping presents in the living room. I was excited about Christmas because I
loved making cookies for Santa, my siblings began teasing me because I believe in Santa Claus. I got
very upset and started crying because people teased me for believing in Santa Claus. My sister and
brother began persuading me to believing Santa Claus was not real, but I did not believe them. When
my mother and grandmother were done wrapping presents they went left to get more decorations.
Afterwards, I started getting thirsty and went into the kitchen to get a glass of milk even though my
mother told us to stsy in thre room. Then, I headed towards

Generation Twitch : How Millennials Are Shaping Social Media
In "Generation Twitch: How Millennials Are Shaping Social Media" (Tech Mag Gen, July 20. 2015),
Kristian Markus explains the idea that social media has helped shape a bright tomorrow, instead of a
disconnected future, by creating stronger communities and relationships. Throughout the article,
Markus focuses on Twitch.tv which he describes as "nothing less than the future of social media." He
explains that, by creating streaming channels, such as MrSamKim, people are able to channel their
love of videogames and develop something more. Although Twitch.tv is mainly for gaming, each
channel has become something where people of all ages, races and cultures are able to discuss
personal ideas and philosophies on the games and the world around them. MrSamKim has defined
this as a "virtual family," where a group of people, established by a certain topic or similar interest,
develops into a community where they can "exchange short bursts of their lives in the moment" and
develop a deep connection. He recognized this "phenomenon" when his viewers showed their
appreciation for his channel through donations and praises, where they revealed how much his work
had helped them get through personal problems and get to a better place in their lives. His show was
no longer just about playing video games but also about creating a great, positive impact on people's
lives. There is a great truth behind Markus' argument, but what weakens his argument is the lack of
personal experience. Throughout

The Power Of The American Dream
Land of Opportunity, Home of the Brave, and Land of the Free often come to mind when envisioning
the United States for most individuals around the world. Through media, America and the American
Dream are depicted as the salvation for poverty, sorrow, and hardship. The Founding Fathers invented
the American Dream, offering life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Unfortunately, an abundance
of immigrants fell short of possessing the American Dream and slowly began to realize that these

The American Dream perpetuates the idea of the accessible and limitless opportunities. The
exploitation of opportunities during the eighteenth and nineteenth century made by many colonizers
formulated the societal ideal for desiring more (Shames 78). The more opportunities an individual
utilizes, the more likely an individual will attain happiness and reward. This idea of obtaining a
greater need for a favorable outcome correlates through consumerism. According to Shames,
American society measures progress and happiness by expansion in individuals' standard of living
(80). Seemingly, the more one obtains translates into the happier he or she will be. Corporations
create mechanisms that perpetuate this notion, establishing a constant cycle of purchasing more.
Commercials express: "the more you have, the happier you will become." Manipulative marketing
schemes persuade consumers that they must possess 'more' in order to seek identity and attain
happiness. Consequently, the idea of consumerism becomes inescapable for the mass, forcing
individuals to acquire any and every available product, similar to their American

Understanding The Importance Of Corporate Communication

The Network's Creation And Evolution Of Powerful Girl...
Via textual analysis, content analysis, discourse analysis, interviews, and primary and secondary
sources, this study used a cultural studies and historical lens to explore and comprehend the
representation of tween girls on Disney Channel television series. This research project sought to
answer questions about meanings of the network's creation and evolution of powerful girl characters.
In so doing, it examined culture–particularly dominant American ideologies about girls– and industry,
mainly, Disney as an institution that serves as an instrument of dominant ideology by pressing its
views upon its audience. This dissertation has identified the reasons and motivations for presentations
of girls with hidden magical powers, and the decade's social, historical, and industrial influence and
impact on Disney programming. This dissertation has also shown how Disney has influenced society
and history too with its persistent and sometimes pervasive portrayals of tween girls resulting in a
tween marketing frenzy and more attention being paid to girl's issues. This study has come up with an
enhanced understanding of Disney Channel within concrete social, historical, and institutional
contexts. The process of historicizing Disney Channel in chapter one by finding connections between
national events and the various series studied effectively addressed the intertwined cultural and
commercial dynamics of the network. This analysis has firmly established the network

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Mtv
Individual report MTV
In 1981, when MTV first aired, John Lack introduced the new channel with "Ladies and gentleman,
rock and roll" , setting the pace for the music video based network that helped launch dozens of artists
like Michael Jackson, Prince and Duran Duran into stardom. In its early years the programming
consisted only of music videos presented by VJs (Video Jockeys), with high promotional value,
which heavily influenced USA's pop culture. In the late 80's MTV started producing non–musical

reality shows continued in MTV until the late 90's, when they were replaced by prank/comedic shows
and game shows. In the same years, MTV's distance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

access to the international programming such as the hugely successful Jackass, a programme that
increased MTV's audiences by 17% , but they would feel that MTV respects and values their culture.
This would increase costs, but with careful planning MTV could achieve a balance between
international and national programmes that could justify their investment. In the end what matters is
to capitalize on the market trends, viewing them as opportunities instead of threats.
In conclusion, MTV is a gigantic worldwide company, with a very strong brand value, that has
internationalized in the best way they could. A changing market and cultural differences show that
companies are never safe, and those challenges provide a great room for MTV to expand their

Currently at Element Inc., there are many problems that need to be resolved, in order to prevent our talented employees from leaving our company. As one of the current leaders of the Human Resources department of the company, I have a few suggestions I'd like to make in order to help our company reach success and eliminate this problem. The issue we have at hand is that, all of our highly–talented employees are leaving to work for other companies. Since we are such a small business, we cannot afford to lose our talented employees. We must make a change as soon as possible as this problem has been occurring for many years, and the loss of valuable employees is becoming a huge hassle ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 21. Spread of United States Culture through Technology Essay Abstract In today's society, the way in which information is spread drastically differs from that of yesterday, especially in different parts of the world – more specifically, the Commonwealth of Nations. As the United States continues to dominate almost every aspect of the world, including culture, many different nations scurry to keep up with them, sometimes adopting an identity which is in great contrast to their own, and in many cases, shadow their own identity as a whole. With the ever– advancing technology, the spreading of U.S. culture seems to be easier, and this has many countries worried. Hence, a reason – or need – to censor what enters the country via print, airwaves or Internet. In "Global Communications of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some governments are uncomfortable with the fact that the United States seems to pose a better lifestyle to their people and try to limit the amount of American shows imported, or the amount of time the shows are viewed. In Jamaica, for instance, there is currently one local television station, the JBC (Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation). However, it does not broadcast until late afternoon (around 4 or 5 o'clock). The first half–hour is cartoons (imported from the United States). Then, for the next two to three hours there is nothing but local programs, including news, gardening and cooking shows, local sitcoms, the most popular being "Lime Tree Lane," "Titus," and the long–running "Oliver at Large," all of which contain Jamaican actors. The quality of the shows is shoddy mainly because there is not much of a budget and resources are limited. Most of the citizens – especially those without a satellite – do not see an American on television until later in the evening (around 8 or 9 o'clock), and it is only for a couple of hours, as the station quits broadcasting for the day at around 11. The government does this in an attempt to lessen the influence of American culture on their society. In the Bahamas the story is a little different. There is one local television station, ZNS (Zephyr Nassau Sunshine), however, most people own satellites and antennae, allowing them to receive more stations. • 62. How Has Communication Changed In The Past Century? How has communication changed in the past century? Before that question is answered, one must know what communication is. The book defines communication as the process of transmitting and understanding information. Communication is also known as the task of imparting ideas and making oneself understood to others. Good communication can ultimately affect a business's profit. For example, the way a waitress speaks to a customer could directly influence the sales of a restaurant. She could talk a table into purchasing another drink or she could make the guest run for the door. Effective communication plays a pivotal role in the workplace. Effective communication is accomplished when the transfer of information, meaning and understanding from a sender to a receiver is successful. Therefore, effective communication requires a two–way exchange of the proper information. Achieving effective communication is vital to being a successful supervisor. This is because the majority of the day is spent giving and receiving information. Just like a parent that wants their child to feel comfortable talking to them about things, a supervisor wants to encourage an environment for their employees to communicate. Therefore, a supervisor must know how to receive information and understand the messages sent by employees. Also, just as entry–level employees must understand their supervisor's instructions, a supervisor must also be able to fully understand messages given to them from high–level ... Through the media, America and the American Dream is depicted as the salvation for poverty, sorrow, and hardship. The Founding Fathers invented the American Dream, offering life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Unfortunately, an abundance of immigrants were falling short of possessing the American Dream and slowly began to realize that these alluring portrayals were merely a facade. Wealthy and influential corporations needed to revitalize the American Dream before it would dissolve amongst the masses. In order to keep American deception ongoing, a new American Dream was implemented into society. This time, it was not affecting individuals' careers and lifestyles, it was affecting their identity and their consumerist behavior. The 'American Dream' embodies the accessibility of opportunities, the longing for social acceptance, and the yearn for economic acquisition (awk). Consumerism harvests this elusive 'dream' by perpetuating an ideology of an 'empty identity' through media marketing, corporate imperialism, and the limitless consumption of brands that construct identity. American colonization sprouts from greed and the desire to possess a greater need. As a result, this 'imperialistic' mindset has transformed into consumerism through abrasive expansion of many large corporations. In Bruce Forbes's Mickey Mouse ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Communication System Bureaucracy, Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Working Practices necessary to ensure consistency can stifle staff engagement and affect performance, limits formal procedures and processes. Furthermore, standard letters issued to stakeholders, which offer no facility for amendment or personalisation, can disassociate and weaken customer relationships. Network channels of communication, their benefits and implications are not considered. Teams are created purely by location, in order to meet the organisations future vision for 2020. However, different tasks benefit from different communication networks. For example some roles within TSL require isolation or home working and would be categorised as a 'wheel ' network whilst others are based upon a processing system following a 'Y' network structure, see figure 1.5 above. No consideration has been made to the management of virtual teams where effective communication needs to be encouraged and managed. This is vitally important, especially if the group has not been through the five key stages of group development described in the model by Bruce W. Tuckman, which follows a group from formation and conflict in establishing boundaries, to performing and finally adjournment when the group disbands. In modern era every people want to use things which is smaller in size, can have more functionality and cost. This can only possible if we can integrate more and more functionality into a single chip which helps achieve our objective and demand. To achieve this human wanting the scientists have developed a new concept that is nanotechnology. Nano implies 10^(–9) which is very small . After nano scale development, the scientists of the semiconductor had faced many challenges. The greater challenge was how to combine the Intellectual properties(IP) from various sources quickly and efficiently. These have been overcome by introducing system on chip technology which is very grooming topic in modern technology. The Effects Of Media On Young Girls Around The World Everyday television, film, advertisement and music industries deliver contradicting messages to young girls around the world, especially in well technology developed nations like US. They create mayhem and confusion among adolescents, who are trying to find themselves, fit in and safely pass into womanhood stage. At home and school girls are being taught how important it is to obtain education, career, learn responsibilities as well as how to become great mothers and wives, take care of the house and act like ladies. But as soon as they turn on TV, open a magazine or log into the Internet they are being taken for a roller coaster ride, which may seem like a lot of fun at first, but going further it becomes a struggle and pulls teens further and further away from their culture and values presented by loved ones. They are being flooded with fake images of happiness achieved by purchasing a certain product, ability to fit in by wearing fashionable clothes and leaving a moment without worrying about the consequences that will follow reckless behavior. Media are guilty of supplying young minds with garbage just to make a quick dollar and don't care about the future of next generations. In my essay I would like to provide some examples how television, film, ads and music create whirlwinds of emotional and cultural contradictions in young girls. Fairy Tales can affect us the same way as a dream through the thought of a mystery and stories that stimulate our own thoughts. I have experienced many fairy tales throughout my childhood, such as the story of Santa Claus, Stephen King It", and the Disney Channel movie " The Cheetah Girls." It was Christmas Eve, I was at my grandmother's house with my family getting prepared for Christmas morning. However, My grandmother and mother wanted the children to stay in the back room while they were wrapping presents in the living room. Throughout the article, Markus focuses on Twitch.tv which he describes as "nothing less than the future of social media." He explains that, by creating streaming channels, such as MrSamKim, people are able to channel their love of videogames and develop something more. Although Twitch.tv is mainly for gaming, each channel has become something where people of all ages, races and cultures are able to discuss personal ideas and philosophies on the games and the world around them. MrSamKim has defined this as a "virtual family," where a group of people, established by a certain topic or similar interest, develops into a community where they can "exchange short bursts of their lives in the moment" and develop a deep connection. He recognized this "phenomenon" when his viewers showed their appreciation for his channel through donations and praises, where they revealed how much his work had helped them get through personal problems and get to a better place in their lives. His show was no longer just about playing video games but also about creating a great, positive impact on people's lives. Through media, America and the American Dream are depicted as the salvation for poverty, sorrow, and hardship. The Founding Fathers invented the American Dream, offering life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Unfortunately, an abundance of immigrants fell short of possessing the American Dream and slowly began to realize that these alluring portrayals were merely a facade. The American Dream perpetuates the idea of the accessible and limitless opportunities. The exploitation of opportunities during the eighteenth and nineteenth century made by many colonizers formulated the societal ideal for desiring more (Shames 78). The more opportunities an individual utilizes, the more likely an individual will attain happiness and reward. This idea of obtaining a greater need for a favorable outcome correlates through consumerism. According to Shames, American society measures progress and happiness by expansion in individuals' standard of living (80). Seemingly, the more one obtains translates into the happier he or she will be. Corporations create mechanisms that perpetuate this notion, establishing a constant cycle of purchasing more. Commercials express: "the more you have, the happier you will become." Manipulative marketing schemes persuade consumers that they must possess 'more' in order to seek identity and attain happiness. Via textual analysis, content analysis, discourse analysis, interviews, and primary and secondary sources, this study used a cultural studies and historical lens to explore and comprehend the representation of tween girls on Disney Channel television series. This research project sought to answer questions about meanings of the network's creation and evolution of powerful girl characters. In so doing, it examined culture–particularly dominant American ideologies about girls– and industry, mainly, Disney as an institution that serves as an instrument of dominant ideology by pressing its views upon its audience. This dissertation has identified the reasons and motivations for presentations of girls with hidden magical powers, and the decade's social, historical, and industrial influence and impact on Disney programming. This dissertation has also shown how Disney has influenced society and history too with its persistent and sometimes pervasive portrayals of tween girls resulting in a tween marketing frenzy and more attention being paid to girl's issues. This study has come up with an enhanced understanding of Disney Channel within concrete social, historical, and institutional contexts.
