In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
1. O you wrapped up in
garments.
$pκš‰r'¯≈tƒã≅ÏiΒ¨“ßϑø9$#∩⊇∪
2. Stand (in prayer) at night
except a little.
ÉΟè%Ÿ≅ø‹©9$#ωÎ)Wξ‹Î=s%∩⊄∪
3. Half of it, or lessen
from it a little.
ÿ…çμxóÁÏoΡÍρr&óÈà)Ρ$#çμ÷ΖÏΒ¸ξ‹Î=s%∩⊂∪
4. Or add to it, and recite
the Quran with measured
recitation.
÷ρr&÷ŠÎ—Ïμø‹n=tãÈ≅Ïo?u‘uρtβ#u™öà)ø9$#¸ξ‹Ï?ös?

5. Indeed, We shall
send down upon you a
heavy word.

6. Indeed, the rising by
night is more effective for
controlling the self, and
more suitable for words.
¨βÎ)sπy∞Ï©$tΡÈ≅ø‹©9$#}‘Ï䑉x©r&$↔ôÛuρ
ãΠuθø%r&uρ¸ξ‹Ï%∩∉∪

2. 7. Indeed, for you in the day
is a prolonged occupation.
¨βÎ)y7s9’ÎûÍ‘$pκ¨]9$#$[sö7y™WξƒÈθsÛ∩∠∪
8. And remember the name
of your Lord, and devote
yourself to Him with
complete devotion.
Ìä.øŒ$#uρzΝó™$#y7În/u‘ö≅−Gu;s?uρÏμø‹s9Î)
Wξ‹ÏFö;s?∩∇∪
9. The Lord of the east and
the west, there is no god
except Him, so take Him as a
Defender.

uθèδçνõ‹ÏƒªB$$sùWξ‹Ï.uρ∩®∪
10. And be patient over what
they say, and depart from
them, a noble departure.

#ôfyδWξŠÏΗsd∩⊇⊃∪
11. And leave Me and those
who deny, the prosperous
ones, and give them respite a
little.
’ÎΤö‘sŒuρt⎦⎫Î/Éj‹s3çRùQ$#uρ’Í<'ρé&Ïπyϑ÷è¨Ζ9$#
ö/àSù=ÎdγtΒuρ¸ξ‹Î=s%∩⊇⊇∪
12. Indeed, with us are heavy
shackles, and a blazing Fire.
¨βÎ)!$uΖ÷ƒt$s!Zω%s3Ρr&$VϑŠÏtrbuρ∩⊇⊄∪
13. And food that chokes
and a painful punishment.
$YΒ$yèsÛuρ#sŒ7π¢Áäî$¹/#x‹tãuρ$Vϑ‹Ï9r&

14. On the Day, the earth
and the mountains will be
in violent shake, and the
mountains will become a
heap of pouring sand.

ÏMtΡ%x.uρãΑ$t6Ågø:$#$Y6ÏVx.¸ξŠÎγ¨Β∩⊇⊆∪

3. 15. Indeed, We have sent
to you a messenger
(Muhammad) as a witness
over you, just as We sent to
Pharaoh a messenger.

ö/ä3ø‹n=tæ!$uΚx.!$uΖù=y™ö‘r&4’n<Î)šχöθtãöÏù

16. But Pharaoh disobeyed
the messenger. So We seized
him with a firm seizure.

17. Then how will you protect
yourselves, if you disbelieve,
on the Day that will make the
children white haired (old).

ã≅yèøgs†tβ≡t$ø!Èθø9$#$·7ŠÏ©∩⊇∠∪
18. The heaven will break
apart there from. His
promise has to be fulfilled.
â™!$yϑ¡¡9$#7ÏÜxΖãΒ⎯ÏμÎ/4tβ%x.…çν߉ôãuρ
»ωθãèøtΒ∩⊇∇∪
19. Indeed, this is an
admonition. So whoever
wills, let him take a path to
his Lord.
¨βÎ)⎯ÍνÉ‹≈yδ×οtÅ2õ‹s?(⎯yϑsùu™!$x©
x‹sƒªB$#4’n<Î)⎯ÏμÎn/u‘¸ξ‹Î6y™∩⊇®∪
20. Indeed, your Lord knows
that you stand (in prayer)
nearly two thirds of the
night, and half of it, and one
third of it, and (so do) a
group of those with you, And
¨βÎ)y7−/u‘ÞΟn=÷ètƒy7¯Ρr&ãΠθà)s?4’oΤ÷Šr&⎯ÏΒ

4. Allah measures the night
and the day.
â‘Ïd‰s)ミ≅ø‹©9$#u‘$pκ¨]9$#uρ4
He knows that you will
not be able to do it (pray
all night), so He has turned
to you in forgiveness. So
recite what is easy for you
of the Quran. He knows that
there will be sick among
you, and others traveling in
the land seeking from
Allah’s bounty, and others
fighting in the cause of
Allah. So recite what is
easy for you from it.

uœ£uŠs?çμ÷ΖÏΒ4
And establish the prayer
and give the poor due, and
loan Allah a goodly loan.
And whatever you may send
forward for yourselves of
good, you shall find it with
Allah. That is better and
greater in reward. And seek
forgiveness from Allah.
Indeed Allah is All Forgiving,
All Merciful.
