definition; however, there
are some common

Many people define social
media as apps on their
Smartphone or tablet, but the
truth is, this communication
tool started with computers.
This misconception stems from

apps.

 The underlying purpose of WhatsApp is to
facilitate communication, and at its most basic
level, education is nothing but communication.
WhatsApp can provide a channel through which
teachers can achieve faster and more seamless
communication with their students. It can also
increase the level of communication between
students and create another venue for learning.

 Here are some basic strategies that educators can utilize to take
advantage of the core abilities of WhatsApp:
 Use the Group Chats feature to create learning and study groups
 Create audio lessons that can be sent directly to students
 Stay in contact with students outside the classroom
 Send out problems or assignments to students even when they are
not in class
 Stay in contact with parents
 Send videos to students
 Send graphics such as pictures or charts directly to students
 Send report cards directly to the parents’ phones

 Blogger makes it easy for teachers to:
Post resources, lessons, and homework
assignments. Keep parents up-to-date on
class happenings. Reflect on their
own teaching practices and share their
ideas with other educators.

 With the draw of Facebook to encourage
them, students learn ICT skills without the
need for boring step-by-step instruction.
They gain skills through peer learning as
well, feeding back into interpersonal
communication and group collaboration.

 Students can use SlideShare for academic
research, professionals can deepen their
industry knowledge, and everyone can
explore interesting topics to learn
something new.

Schools is a network setting that allows schools

while limiting access to non-educational content.
Students can watch and search
only YouTube EDU videos and videos their
school adds. All comments and related videos
are disabled.
