The document discusses photos and reasons for choosing an abandoned car park as the secret location to film the opening scene. The car park provides discrete, quiet areas for the powerful characters to walk and meet. It offers contrasting colors from nature and construction, and gritty lighting that adds tension. Angles from stairs, heights, and floors can showcase character power dynamics and emotions. While some debated formal locations or parks, the car park provides a discreet space where they can control lighting and film freely. Footage of the car park will be shared online to showcase potential filming areas.

Photos of the location
1. Photos of the location
Me and my group thought that since our opening is going to be quite secretive, it would be best of if
it would be in a discrete place. Here are the following images and i will discuss briefly why we picked
them.
This is next to the entrance to the location. We thought that
since one of the characters are going to be more powerful then
we should film them doing something physical. This could just
mean walking. This part photo could be used to show that they
are in a quiet place and therefore people don’t know they are
there. I also find the nature vs man made construction to give a
contrast of colours in our opening scene, this would give the
location a bit more vibrant which will be pleasing for the
audience.
This is the main entrance to our location. As you can see we are doing
our location in a car park. We may use this photo in our opening to
create a sense of surrounding. We possibly use close up which shows
the tense and emotion between the character walking in. This may
also show the relationship between them.
This photo may create an opening to the scene. There may be footage such as a
low angle of the character walking up the stairs. This photo may be the entrance
to our opening scene.
These photos are where the two characters are
meant to meet. Both photos show the location.
The photo to the left is an ideal of the different
types of angles we could possibly use which may
gain tension. This could even be a point of view
2. from the other character. The photo on the right tells us where we would like to do film parts of the
opening. There’s a sense of height which could also show who is more powerful between the two
characters. Furthermore the lighting in this location is very useful for our opening because you gain
the sense of the lighting on the characters, which gives the location more of a mysterious feeling to
the opening scene. Also the gritty yellow shade makes the audience feel on edge.
This is photo shows a camera angle that we may use.
There are also other factors such as the dirt on the floor
which could also show that it is in a discrete location.
This is perfect for the opening parts of our film opening.
The paramana shows the whole place of our location.
It is in a car park which is quite when we went. I will
discuss later why we picked to film in a car park.
These three pictures show the lighting in the location and the weather
outside was perfect. The weather was sort of sunny but gloomy at the
same time. If we can film on day like this then our opening will be a
success. The weather and the lighting resents on how tense the scene is
and who is in power. For example the lighting could be dull and dark on
the protagonist and the lighting could be bright on the antagonist. There
could also be different camera movements such as low angle or high angle.
3. Why we choose a car park? For our opening scene we thought that we may need a discrete place where not many people
may stay. There options such as a office, someone’s house or a car park. We thought and discussed many times on what
was best. Some of our group was determined to film somewhere formal such as in an office. Fahrin often said “Filming in
a car park may make the opening be rubbish because of how hard the lighting is to control”. This was a good point to
make nick and I thought this over. We thought of the different car parks such as the car park in Kingswood. May of the
times we came to the same point because of the different factors. So then my group discussed where else we could film.
We needed a place where it isn’t busy and was discrete. Sara stated that we should film in a park or somewhere that is
not too formal but can still be it. This was a good suggestion but the same factors applied. We all agreed to for me and
nick to go and visit and take pictures of a car park. This agreement went really and all of us are not happy on the location.
With most people in our group contributing well to help reach an agreement was a success in this part of the planning.
Summary
Overall the location can be a very good place to film. There are a few reasons why. We could film our
opening in a linear style why. This would mean that the opening may consist of the two characters
meeting at the location. The other reason is that our location could be done in the technique called
circular. This means that the end is told first to the audience. This could make the film even better
just by the location we have chosen. Having the circular technique means that they tell then end
first. This could show the audience what the character has been through.
The raw footage of the location will be in a video on all of our blogs. There are short clips of the
places in this location where we may use to film.
