2. • Commercials are used everyday to get into
peoples heads and make them go buy a
product, or at least make a lasting impression.
•For example think of the coca cola bears
commercials. They are so memorable and give
us good feelings usually. They portray a family
together and all the bears are drinking Coca
Cola.
3. • They do this to attempt and associate good
feelings with their product. So when you walk
through a store and happen to come across
their product you might experience those
feelings and be a little more inclined to
purchase that product.
4. • Think of many other times where you've
noticed where commercials try and get you to
feel some type of way.
•They can use a variety of things to get
emotion for example what music plays, colors
they use, even things they say, or who is saying
those things (“actual testimonials”).
5. •The main target of commercials are our
emotions. They do this because sometimes our
emotions can be very powerful. How many
times have you done something out of
emotion. Marketing companies have figured
this out and are using them to their advantage.
6. • We learned about this when we talked about
social psychology. The way people affect others
emotion and behavior.
•I found this really interesting because it’s
amazing how much some things can affect and
change how we behave
•Social psychology is a very broad subject
because there are so many things that can
affect us, especially if someone else does
something
7. • One cool thing I saw was that there was a
study done where they played commercials
displaying food while people were watching tv,
they also made snacks readily available to the
people. Just the act of only playing commercial
displaying food was enough to make these
people start eating snacks.
