William Avery Bishop Jr., more commonly known as Billy Bishop was a Canadian pilot during World War 1. Billy Bishop changed Canada, and
was extremely significant in both the First and Second World War. Billy was born on February 8th 1894 in Owen Sound, Ontario and passed
away on September 11th 1956 in Palm Beach, Florida. Billy Bishop was Canada's top flying ace in World War 1. During the Second World War,
Bishop played a vital role in recruiting for the Royal Canadian Air Force. Bishop was in total, one of the most significant pilot's throughout Canadian
History. Bishop was born on February 8th 1914 in Owen Sound, Ontario. Billy's father, William Bishop Sr. was a lawyer and the county registrar.

Billy never gave up and soon achieved his wings. His request for a transfer to France was granted on March 9th, 1917. Billy was transferred to
France in March to fight in a battle. The battle ended with Billy shooting down his first German Albatross plane and barley making it back to
safety. By the end of May, Billy Bishop was credited with 22 official victories. However, Billy's most famous flight was on June 2nd 1917, where
he flew across enemy lines and attacked a German aerodrome, shooting down three German planes. Bishop managed to make his way back to his
companions by flying directly under four enemy airplanes, winning him the Victoria Cross award in August 29th 1917. In September 1917 Billy
headed back to Canada and completed his book; Winged Warfare. In 1918, Bishop returned to England with his wife and became the Commander of
the Flying Foxes. Later in May 1918, the squadron completed training and moved to the front lines in France. On June 19th, Bishop's final day in
France, he shot down five German airplanes in 12 minutes. This earned him the Distinguished Flying Cross, which he was awarded on August 3rd

Elton John Research Paper
Billy Joel, and Elton John; two incredible singers that have different and diverse backgrounds, however the question must be asked, who is better?
Whose life has gone smoother? Who produced the better music? Who made more? Many of these questions can be simply answered by reading
biographies and watching documentaries. These don't however, answer exactly what their ideas or beliefs are. Much of what they believe, or feel, is
put into their songs, or even simply thrown out during an interview. Before we delve into the opinionated topic of, "who is better?", we must first
learn about who each of these talented singers are. We must also learn what shaped them into the people they are today. Billy Joel was born in the

Elton John has sold double the number of albums then Billy Joel and has had a more successful music career. Elton John overcame more hardships.
Between his father's anger at his career choice, and the backlash he experienced due to his sexuality, he has dealt with more hardships than Billy. He
also had released more albums of higher quality and more well–known singles. He also joined with the rapper from Detroit, Eminem in his song Stan.
Finally, "Elton John recorded a tribute to Princess Diana, and his Westminster Abbey performance of the song (Candle in the Wind) during
Diana's funeral service in September of 1997." (Simon Firth) and played alongside Queen and Axl Rose in a tribute to Freddie Mercury after his
passing on November 24th, 1991. The generous amount of money he donated to charity also defines how nice of a person he is. Once he received
a school schedule for his kids, Elton and his husband David Furnish decided together that Elton couldn't be a father figure if he was constantly on
tour. Elton decided, due to that fact and his age of 71, that he would end touring, but would still produce music. The amount he cares for his family
shows how good of a guy he really is, he has released very popular and well–known music, and is a classic rock icon still listened to today. For his
farewell tour, tickets range from $200 upwards to $1628 at the capital one theater in Washington D.C. Elton John has racked up

Conducting a FBA to determine the function of communication is encouraged. For example, a child may be yelling and throwing a tantrum to access
teacher attention. FBAs can also determine if an antecedent condition is maintaining the target behavior. The article also describes how FBAs can be
implemented into a Response to Intervention (RTI) model at the school. The RTI model serves to prevent problem behaviors. Therefore, young
children who continue to exhibit problem behaviors, despite positive universal behavior supports, may benefit from an intervention based on a FBA.
Additionally, RTI requires school to use evidence based interventions; therefore, interventions based on FBA can easily be implemented to meet the
evidence based criteria and prevent future behavior problems.

Billy Joel's Influence On Modern Music
Mozart and Beethoven are influential composers whose musical pieces have been heard around the world for centuries. The famous works of the
aforementioned two provide an example for current musicians to follow, in hopes of reaching longevity similar to that of classical composers. I
remember listening to classical music in grammar school, since it is known to increase the IQ of young minds. However, when I create a playlist, I
constantly search for new, modern artists that aspire to have an impact on the music culture like Mozart and Beethoven had. Three of my favorite
contemporary singer/songwriters are Billy Joel, Ed Sheeran, and Faith Hill.
Billy Joel. Billy Joel had his first big break in the music world in the early 1970's with his release of "Piano Man" and continued to make #1 hits for
nearly two and a half decades. Billy Joel is an artist who seems to connect with all ages. My parents are big Billy Joel fans, so it seemed to have passed

Ed Sheeran, born and raised in England, took the world by storm in the early 2010's with his charming British accent and his unique lyrics. The
reason that I like Ed Sheeran so much is that he is real, while other pop artists don't write their own songs let alone their entire album. He seems so
laid back without letting the fame get to his head. He took an entire year break from social media to work on new music with no distractions; it just
shows that he does what he does because it's his passion, not because of the million followers he has gained. Some of my favorite songs of his
include "Thinking Out Loud", "Castle on the Hill", and "Sing". As for Ed Sheeran's future success, there is still so much unknown. He just entered the
spotlight less than ten years ago. In my opinion, I hope that he continues to make a name for himself and obtains a fan base that will pass down his
music from generation to generation. His genuineness and dedication to his music may just help him create a long–lasting

Old Bill in the early chapters of the book, it happened to be his birthday which he decided to celebrate with a bottle of beer. Billy describes old Bill as

Analysis Of Gottfredson And Hirschi 's Low Self Control...
Gottfredson and Hirschi's Low Self–Control Theory, also known as A General Theory of Crime, is a criminological theory developed in 1990 that
seeks to explain crime and why certain people offend and others do not. As a social control theory, it accepts the idea that socialization and social
learning build self–control and will likely lead one away from offending. Low Self–Control Theory also comes from the classical school of thought,
which states that human nature is to try to enhance pleasure and avoid pain (Gottfredson and Hirschi 2014). Low Self–Control Theory asserts that most
crimes committed are largely spontaneous acts. They require very little skill, if any at all, and merely provide minimal short–term satisfaction. In the
theory, Self–Control is defined as the extent to which an individual is vulnerable to the temptations in a certain moment. A personal trait that is
characteristic of an individual with low self–control orientation to the present rather than the future, and crime is something that provides them with
immediate satisfaction. Another trait of individuals with low self–control is a risk–taking and physical nature, rather than a cautious and cognitive
nature. Crime provides these individuals with excitement and risky, adventurous activities. The next trait of someone with low self–control is a lack of
patience, persistence, and diligence. Crime allows these people to quick and simple ways to obtain sex, money, revenge, or other desirable

Billy the Kid, the Mystery has been solved.
My topic is Billy the kid. He had blue eyes, he was small and skinny, and he had small girlish hands. He was born in New York or Indiana; no one is

The Journey Of Self Discovery
Who are you? Who are you in the eyes of a total stranger and who would they see when they look at you? Is this perception of you the same or
different from who you think you are or who you want to be? Do you know who you are, and if you do, when did you take the path of self
discovery? The journey of self discovery is a journey that most people take at some point during their life, whether it is very early in life or rather
late in life. In the novels, Billy Lynn 's Long Halftime Walk by Ben Fountain, Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison, andThe Great Gatsby by F. Scott
Fitzgerald the three protagonists have all undergone a journey on the path of self discovery. These journey range in length, depth, and significance just
as these self ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each of the protagonists have started or completed their path towards their journey to self discovery, however no path is identical and the results
of having started or having completed the journey vary in significance and effectiveness in regards to the impact that they have one their lives.
The life you live is what shapes who you are and is what leads you on your path towards self discovery. This may seem obvious, that self discovery
is a journey that happens during one's lifetime, but some people are not as fortunate to live such a fulfilled life that they are able to partake in such a
journey. There are people that would argue that to simply have a life does not mean that one is actually living. With that being said, it is privilege to
not only live a life, but to also discover one's own identity because some people who live do not get that far either. In these three novels the three
protagonists, Billy Lynn, Jay Gatsby, and Invisible Man, have all lived lives that have led them on their path to self discovery. Billy's own journey was
one mainly focused on battling with his own inner self. "Inner peace–you need to know who you are, what you want out of life. You have to do your
own thinking, and for that you better know who you are, and not just know but be secure in it, comfortable with yourself" (Fountain), in this quote
Billy is recognizing and showcasing to the readers his own path to understanding and discovering himself. Billy

Billy Weaver's Disappearance Essay
When I first heard of this case, I knew I had to find out the truth. The investigation of Billy Weaver's disappearance was eerie and left me with a
lingering pit in my stomach. In early morning Billy came down from the London looking for a motel. He ended up going to a bed and breakfast.
The bed and breakfast was hosted by a dainty landlady. That was the last place that Billy was seen before his disappearance. It is clear that the
landlady is guilty of billy's disappearance because of the missing past guests, the cheap price, and the bitter almond tasting tea. The missing past guests
intrigued me. I made sure to look into the guest book straight away when I walked into the bed and breakfast. I noticed there were two names that

The price was five and sixpence. Billy himself thought "It was fantastically cheap" and "half of what he was willing to pay". This gives me the
conclusion that a regular price for a bed and breakfast/motel would be around ten and twelvepence. Having such a cheap price I think it's safe to
assume that the landlady wanted Billy there. But for what reason? Well I'm not quite sure yet but I don't think it was good. My last piece of
evidence is the bitter almond taste of the tea. During my research I discovered it was poison. Exactly as I thought and cyanide to be exact. Why in
the world would the landlady give im poison you may ask. I am concluding that she wanted him to be dead. She stated she has stuffed all her pets
and killed them herself. I think she does the exact same thing to people. I also think Billy is on the fourth floor just waiting to be found. Most
likely dead but the least we could do is give him a proper grave and funeral. The Landlady is guilty because of the disappearance of the past guests,
the cheap motel price and the bitter almond tasting tea. Know that we have reviewed the case, I believe the landlady is guilty of the disappearance of
Billy Weaver. So after this ruley investigation, it's time to sit up and take a stand on what you believe in. Do you think the landlady is guilty of billy's

because people don't see the good side of him like how he stood up for his boss or how when he stole butter as a kid he did it for his city. Billy the Kid

An Essay On 'The Simple Gift' By Steven Herrick
Year 9: The Simple Gift essay
Statement of intention:
In this essay I intend to prove that The Simple Gift by Steven Herrick shows that money and status doesn't buy love and friends through the topic of
identity.
(29)
How does The Simple Gift relate to the theme of identity?
The author attempts to show that without money, Old Bill, Billy and Caitlin can still enjoy each other's company. The Simple Gift attempts to
demonstrate that money and status doesn't buy love or friends. From the relationship of Old Bill and Billy, The Simple Gift shows us that there is no
money needed to have a great friendship. We find out through the connection of Billy and Caitlin that money doesn't buy love and through the
relationship of Old Bill and Caitlin, money is not needed for an enjoyable time.
The Simple Gift shows us how the friendship of Billy and Old Bill overcome their wealth and status. For example Billy takes care of Old Bill. Billy
provides Old Bill with company, friendship and breakfast in the morning. In the passage too early (p. 55). Billy leaves a bowl of Weet–bix and milk at
Old Bill's door .This shows that Billy has compassion, generosity and empathy. Billy inspires Old Bill to stop ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Evolution Of Baseball Research Paper
The Baseball World Filled with Money
Baseball has been part of American history for well over 150 years now. It is considered to be America's pastime, meaning it is what people loved to do
in their off time back in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Baseball was invented by Abner Doubleday in Cooperstown, New York in 1839. Back then
baseball was much different than today. Different rules, balls, and equipment than in today's age. As baseball developed things changed such as the
rules and equipment. Better equipment was put into place to help enhance the performance of the ball players. Baseball has become a sport of

He was not going by the proper way to scout players. Other scouts were getting mad he was not doing this. Billy believed in the statistics. As the
2002 Oakland Athletic team started off strong with three straight wins in the beginning. As the season started going, the A's started a 20 game
winning streak. Billy was praised for finding these players that were all pulling in the same direction. Not one player had an ego that would set back
the team. Just like Billy, the players were focused on one thing winning, winning the World Series. Billy lived by this quote, "The problem,"' wrote
James, "is that baseball statistics are not pure accomplishments of men against other men, which is what we are in the habit of seeing them as. They
are accomplishments of men in combination with their circumstances" (Lewis 71). Billy just did not focus on the stats rather he also focused on
what the player actually accomplished throughout their years of playing baseball. This is what made him one of the best general managers in the
league at the time. After the A's did not make it past the first round of the playoffs all of the criticism waiting for the Billy to fail for the first time

The Emotional Rollercoaster We Call Life Am I Rite
The Emotional Rollercoaster We Call Life Am I Rite In Kurt Vonnegut's famous Slaughterhouse Five, the main character of the novel, Billy Pilgrim, is
having traumatic experiences happen to him such as everything that happened throughout the war. Because of these temperamental events, Pilgrim has
been emotionally scarred and experiences Post–Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) throughout the novel. Pilgrim describes events that scarred him
before the war which leads to the reader believing he was emotionally scarred before he was put into war, such as the experiences he had with his
father. In Maxine Kumin's "Woodchucks," the narrator is revealing the inhumane, cruel part of themselves based upon the events that spiraled in the
poem. The narrator of the poem appears to be mentally damaged by the end of the poem, wishing she wasn't the person she was. This directly related
to Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse Five due to the fact that Pilgrim was also feeling the same way at the end of the book compared to "Woodchucks."
Vonnegut's idea behind revealing events that Pilgrim experienced before the war shows how he was damaged beneath who he really was. The
message behind both pieces is revealing to the audience that the events a person goes through at early development are what shape them to be the
person they are later. Someone living with Clinical Depression or any other mental illness does not wake up and suddenly feel depressed. It is the
events they experienced throughout their

Joel starts off with an instrumental intro (very catchy) and into one of his many hits, 'Angry Young Man'. Got a stage full of people with him. A
talented group at that. Helps Billy perform almost flawless studio recreations from his vast catalog of songs. To what we call deep tracks, in which
Billy tells the audience straight out, the song wasn't a hit, to songs that sold millions. The DVD contains 25 tracks, and 3 bonus ones. Concert
performances were recorded in two nights (July 16 and July 18), back in '08.

Memories Are A Source Of Wisdom
Memories can be a source of sundry things for innumerable people. In Lois Lowry's nonfiction Acceptance Speech and the fictional poem "On
Turning Ten" by Billy Collins, Lois Lowry elucidates how she got her idea for The Giver, and Billy Collins writes about a kid who doesn't want to be
ten years old. Lois Lowry and Billy Collins contribute to the idea that memories are a genesis of wisdom and of pain by reflecting back on their
past experiences as adults and using those reflections as inspirations for their literary works. Lois Lowry contributes to the idea that memories are a
source of wisdom and of pain in several ways. One way that Lois Lowry adds to the idea that memories are a source of wisdom is by saying how

One way Billy Collins contributes the idea that memories are a source of wisdom is by saying that adults have forgotten their childhood
memories. I know this because in the text it states, "You [adults] tell me it is too early to be looking back, but that is because You have forgotten
the perfect simplicity of being one and the beautiful complexity introduced by two," (8). The looking back refers to remembering one's memories.
Because the adults have forgotten their childhood memories, looking back at them will bring back knowledge. Wisdom is essentially knowledge.
So Billy Collins, by saying that adults have forgotten their memories contributes to the idea that memories are a source of wisdom. One way Billy
Collins contributes to the idea that memories are a source of pain is by saying that he now has knowledge that life is painful, and that brings pain. I
know this because in the text it says, "But now if I fall upon the sidewalks of life, I skin my knees. I bleed," (31). Billy Collins already showed the
reader that memories can bring wisdom. These memories bring the knowledge that life is painful. The fact that the narrator knows life is painful
brings pain. The pain is represented by the skinned knees and blood. Then the narrator fell and Billy Collins showed the reader that memories can
bring skinned knees and blood which represents

To find a great modern day leader with a life full of integrity is nearly impossible to do, but Reverend Billy Graham definitely fits the bill. This essay
will attempt to show how the Reverend is able to bundle his personal characteristics up to provide dynamic and powerful messages that have provided
hope, peace, and courage to millions of people through the past several decades. Billy Graham was not born a leader, but when he found his purpose, he
became an unstoppable force that defines leadership. To be a good leader, one must exhibit certain traits, skills, and behaviors. Through traits like

There are stories after stories of people that have been emotionally touched by this man. He is known to not even talk about himself in an interview,
but be more interested in the reporter, and where they come from, their family and their personal walk with God. This illustration shows that when
a person talks to Billy Graham he is actually asserting true self confidence even though he is not talking about himself. He has a motivation to
convey his message to that person towards the end of the conversation, and he has the knowledge after he has found out about their background to
share that message when he has found a common ground with them. He is a master of all traits that personify a leader and he can lead a person
where he wants them to go without them even realizing it. Reverend Billy Graham has skills that were not only obtained though studying scripture
and other books in his profession, but most importantly, through listening to others and gaining a certain knowledge and understanding of people.
The Reverend does "Crusades" all over the world and offers an invitation at the end to invite people to know Jesus in their heart. He has reached
almost three million people in his "Crusades" alone which shows that he has a way of teaching and reaching people in a powerful way. He is able to
consolidate the most compelling words and sentences into his sermons

Similarities Between Billy The Kid And Jesse James
Billy the Kid and Jesse James are famous for being robbers, murders and just a plain nuisance. Jesse James and Billy the Kid had only met once or
twice in their life, but how much were they alike?
In the early years of Jesse's life, he was brought up by a very strong willed and independent woman named Zerelda Elizabeth Cole James. Zerelda
married Robert James on December 28, 1841. Zerelda and James built a cabin in the Centerville area of Clay County, Missouri. Zee who stood 6 foot
tall, worked hard to build a homestead. On September 5, 1847, Jesse James was born.

Billy Collins Research Paper
"The pen is an instrument of discovery rather than just a recording implement. If you write a letter of resignation or something with an agenda, you're
simply using a pen to record what you have thought out ("Billy Collins Quotes")." This was written by poet Billy Collins. He was a class clown in the
schoolhouse of American poetry. Most of his work was not noticed until 1990 when he wrote questions about angels which was selected for the
national poetry series (Cunningham "Billy Collins" 2017). Billy Collins, known for his plain words, humor, and an appreciation for the ordinary made
him one of the most famous poets in America.
Billy Collins early childhood shaped his love for poetry as a teenager and an adult. Collins was born an only child to parents William and Katherine
Collins on March 22, 1941 in Manhattan, New York ("Billy Collins Biography"). His father, William, was an electrician who was from a large Irish
family. His mother Katherine was a nurse who stopped working to raise Billy she had a gift of reciting verses which gave Billy a love for poetry
Collins wrote his first poem at age 12 . He earned a BA from the College of the Holy Cross, and both an MA and PhD from the University of
California–Riverside . During the 1970's, he wrote a number of short poems for Rolling Stone magazine. In 2001 Collins received the poet laureate
consultant in poetry to the Library of Congress. Collins was asked to write a poem commemorating the first anniversary of the fall of the Twin
Towers on September 11. The reading was in front of a joint session of Congress held outside of Washington D.C. ("Billy... Show more content on

Red Fern Grows
The book "Where the Red Fern Grows" is a classic book which shows the story of a human and pet bond. It starts with Billy a 10–year old at the time
who has "puppy love" as he calls it. He asks his parents if they can buy him two dogs but his parents say that the dogs cost too much. He works hard
for two years and is able to get the dogs of his dreams. He then trains his dogs to hunt, and when the hunting season opens, he and his dogs start
treeing all the coons around his area. He then goes to a competition, that his grandpa signed him up for and Billy heads over as the underdog. Billy is
the human in the human–animal bond and works hard for his dogs. He has lots of determination and never breaks a promise that he takes on. Grandpa
is Billy's Grandpa who helps him with buying the dogs and signs him up for the coon hunting competition. Papa is a poor, humble, and hard–working
dad who wishes he could give everything to Billy. Mama is worried for the safety of Billy and she believes that prayers can be answered by God if
you say them from the heart. Old Dan and Little Ann are dogs in the human–animal bond and they have a bond with each other. Old Dan is big, bold,
and aggressive and Little Ann is small, cautious, and smart and together... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

crawfish, trapping minnows, selling vegetables and roasting ears, and picking blueberries. He reached fifty dollars, ordered the dogs with the help of
his grandpa, and went into the city to get the dogs. The other minor problem is moving to the city because Billy's parents want the kids to have a good
education. The family gains enough money and at the end of the book, the family moves the city. The Mom even prays to the dogs because they were

Should Billy Coleman Have Tried To Chop Down A Tree
"It's always too early to quit." This is a quote by an optimistic author named Norman Vincent Peale. He believed that, even when one thinks it is time
to give up and quit, there is always a way to do the job. In the book Where the Red Fern Grows, a boy named Billy Coleman was trying to chop down a
huge tree, and several times, he was ready to quit. It would not be right to leave a tree half–chopped and dying for no good reason, so he continued
chopping away at the tree's trunk. Everyone can agree that the reason he was chopping down the tree was that he had made a promise to his dogs.
Some people argue that even so, Billy should not have tried to chop down the enormous tree. Other people, like me, argue that Billy should have tried
to chop down the enormous tree for three reasons. Firstly, Billy needed to become a man. Secondly, he needed to keep his promise. Finally, he needed
to learn about God. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

by chopping down this tree, he was growing into and proving himself a man. Chopping down a tree is work for a grown man, and though he was

Billy Joel's Major Accomplishments
The path to stardom in the music industry is a difficult one. It is not uncommon for an artist to fail time and time again before actually striking it big.
For example, the Beatles were rejected on with their first attempt to get signed, Elvis Presley was told to stick to his day job because he had no future in
music, and Jimi Hendrix was booed of stage constantly because the audiences would rather see the headliners. Billy Joel was no different. As a
younger man, he bounced from band to band trying to find his fit. He managed to overcome several failures and challenges with his personal life to
become one of the most prolific American pop/soft rock musicians of all time. Billy Joel started his musical career when he began to receive piano
lessons at a fairly young age. Joel wasn't too excited about learning piano originally, but he grew to appreciate his lessons. He originally did not
consider a career in music, however that all changed when he saw The Beatles perform on The Ed Sullivan Show. Even to today, Billy credits that
performance for changing his life:

years, only to leave. This time, Billy and the drummer for the Hassle went off to form a heavy–metal duo called Attila. None of his prior bands or

Introduction to the Leadership of Billy Graham There are many different types of leaders and leadership styles throughout the many cultures of our
world. Most are tied to one certain entity or cause. Although Dr. Billy Graham is tied toGod, he is an example of leadership that spans across many
different sectors. He has impacted the ministry of America by crossing lines of division among the churches as well as cultural traditions. He is

His relationship with his wife, Ruth, led him to face many barriers that he had to bridge in order to be more diverse. It started with Ruth and the
denomination of her dad and is still going today. The relational spirit of Billy Graham resulted in him changing the name of one church that he was
pastoring early on in order to bridge the gap of the demonization background of those in the town the church was located. Billy would go on to lose
some supporters over some decisions he made like bridging the tensions between the Catholics and Protestants. As he lost some supporters, he
gained some because he was bridging relationships that had gaps for minute reasons. Billy Graham's action in bridging the gaps of division is a
direct result of his love for God. As God is the perfect example of how people are to live in community, Billy Graham displays obedience to the will
of God by crossing the lines of division and forming relationships. The love for God through obedience speaks for the love that Billy Graham has for
himself as a child of God. One of the most impressive newsmakers that came from Billy Graham was his message to the Muslims after the 9–11
attacks. Dr. Graham was quoted as answering the question a news reporter asked him about what message he would send to the Muslim community by
saying that God loves them and he does to. His answer to that question in a time when the Muslin community

Homosexuality and Billy Elliot Essay
Homosexuality and Billy Elliot In ' Billy Elliot' there is undoubtedly a strong homosexual subtext but does this necessarily mean the protagonist himself
is gay? . Director Stephen Daldry openly deals with homosexuality and intentionally creates doubt surrounding Billy's sexuality thus fuelling debate and
discussion. Through out the film Daldry presents us with numerous episodes, which suggest homosexuality but which are all open to interpretation, for
example is Billy's rejection of Debbie in the bedroom scene a sign of his homosexuality or just due to the shyness and insecurity of youth? . In my

For Billy's father it isn't necessarily his sons dancing that he finds hard to come to terms with but more the fact that a macho figure like himself is
harbouring a homosexual son. However it could be argued that Billy's dancing is really a metaphor for all sorts of things, i.e. his passion and zeal for
life rather than his homosexuality, as he points out himself 'Just because I like ballet doesn't mean I'm a poof, you know'
Billy's rejection of Debbie in the bedroom episode could be used as evidence to suggest he is gay. He remains silent when asked ' Do you fancy
me' and later when asked if he would like to see an intimate part of Debbie's anatomy, simply replies ' No, that's ok'. However is this merely due to
Billy's inexperience with girls and thus his insecurity and shyness? . Those advocating that Billy is gay would argue that his cold and affirmative '
No, that's ok' shows that he has no interest in the female sex. They would also argue that as Billy has been without a female role model for most of
his life, due to his mother's death, he has become dependant on male figures and this could potentially spill into his more intimate relationships. Billy's
affirmation that ' I'm not a poof' could also be met with some degree of scepticism. Is Billy just repeating the prejudice of his

Exploring Homoeroticism In 'Herman Melville' Is Billy Budd...
I was studying how Herman Melville shows what was going on in his personal life by what was happening in his writing. This topic is important to
investigate because, we can better understand what is happening in his literature if we can equate it with personal connections to his life. This way
readers can connect better with the author as well as the piece of writing. Before I did this study I knew nothing about Herman Melville's personal life. I
have never read any work of his before, nor did I ever did any research on him. This study will help me connect with Melville, in which that will help
me understand his writing. More specifically Billy Budd, Sailor. That being said, Herman Melville uses Billy Budd, Sailor as an allegory for what he
was facing in his own life. One of Herman Melville's biggest personal secret is that he was queer. He had a wife, but also wrote love letters to his male
interests. It is safe to say Melville was bisexual, but no one will know for sure. In Billy Budd, Sailor, Melville wrote in a gay character, which is
Claggart. Dana Silva, a publisher in Agora, in her paper "Exploring Homoeroticism in Herman Melville's Novella Billy Budd, Sailor," published in
Agora, explains:
Unobserved and thus left to indulge in his own private desire, Claggart, while viewing Billy, is torn between his maritime sexual yearnings and his
heterosexual societal obligations. The sight of Billy evokes with Claggart unsurpassed sorrow; his expression becomes 'melancholy,'

York, in a rather musical home. His father was a classically trained pianist while his mother would sing along to songs. Billy tried his luck with the
piano too, pounding on the keys at a very young age until his mother took him to take piano lessons at age 4. It wasn't long before he took to it, and
eventually he became so skilled that he could have been considered a professional by the time he was a teenager.
Billy Joel joined a total of 3 bands before becoming a solo artist. The first group he joined was called the Echoes, a cover band that quickly gained
popularity and would later be known as the Lost Souls. While enjoying the success of his first band, Billy Joel saw the Beatles' iconic performance
on the Ed Sullivan Show and was inspired to pursue a career as a professional musician. As a result, he dropped out of high school at age 17 and
devoted his life to a musical career.

Essay on Billy Bishop
Billy Bishop Many people have been born that have struck a chord with the world. Some people have become legends, patriots and even heroes.
Though one person stood out among the rest, this one was not made a hero, but was born to be one. He was a hero at what he strived to be in life
and he has captured the attention of the public like no other solider has done before or since. This great Canadian Air Force Ace became one of the
legendary figures in 20th century air warfare. With his daring and dramatic dogfights in France, he achieved a record of 72 kills in his many
encounters. His role on the ground during the Second World War training pilots changed and inspired a whole new generation of fighter pilots. This
man is known... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On September 1st in 1915 Billy was sent to the 21st squadron at Netheravon for air instruction. On January 1st, he was transferred to France. From
there he was accepted to Brasenose College, Oxford, for pilot and ground training on October 1st, 1916. In November he moved to Central Flying
School at Upavon where he proved to be one that was able to grasp the "art" of flying. Billy didn't give up; he soon achieved his wings after
numerous crashes. His request for a transfer to France was granted and on March 9th, 1917 he arrived at Filescamp Farm where he joined the 60th
squadron. Billy was to be sent back to England for additional training but before he was sent back he claimed his first victory. On March 25, Billy
was out on patrol with 3 other pilots when the spotted 3 German Albatross DiII Scouts and engaged them. One of the scouts came across Billy's
path, and without hesitation Billy opened fire on the plane, where it went into a dive as Billy followed it until it was shot out of the sky. After his
first victory came his long run of victories that put him in the spot of a legend and hero to Canadians. Billy almost died on the 8th of April when he
claimed his fifth victory. His cockpit, which had a hole in it from a bullet, nearly hit Billy almost killing him. He was promoted to Captain and leader
of C Flight later that month. Come the end of April, Captain

  • 2. Elton John Research Paper Billy Joel, and Elton John; two incredible singers that have different and diverse backgrounds, however the question must be asked, who is better? Whose life has gone smoother? Who produced the better music? Who made more? Many of these questions can be simply answered by reading biographies and watching documentaries. These don't however, answer exactly what their ideas or beliefs are. Much of what they believe, or feel, is put into their songs, or even simply thrown out during an interview. Before we delve into the opinionated topic of, "who is better?", we must first learn about who each of these talented singers are. We must also learn what shaped them into the people they are today. Billy Joel was born in the Bronx, New York,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Elton John has sold double the number of albums then Billy Joel and has had a more successful music career. Elton John overcame more hardships. Between his father's anger at his career choice, and the backlash he experienced due to his sexuality, he has dealt with more hardships than Billy. He also had released more albums of higher quality and more well–known singles. He also joined with the rapper from Detroit, Eminem in his song Stan. Finally, "Elton John recorded a tribute to Princess Diana, and his Westminster Abbey performance of the song (Candle in the Wind) during Diana's funeral service in September of 1997." (Simon Firth) and played alongside Queen and Axl Rose in a tribute to Freddie Mercury after his passing on November 24th, 1991. The generous amount of money he donated to charity also defines how nice of a person he is. Once he received a school schedule for his kids, Elton and his husband David Furnish decided together that Elton couldn't be a father figure if he was constantly on tour. Elton decided, due to that fact and his age of 71, that he would end touring, but would still produce music. The amount he cares for his family shows how good of a guy he really is, he has released very popular and well–known music, and is a classic rock icon still listened to today. For example, a child may be yelling and throwing a tantrum to access teacher attention. FBAs can also determine if an antecedent condition is maintaining the target behavior. The article also describes how FBAs can be implemented into a Response to Intervention (RTI) model at the school. The RTI model serves to prevent problem behaviors. Therefore, young children who continue to exhibit problem behaviors, despite positive universal behavior supports, may benefit from an intervention based on a FBA. Additionally, RTI requires school to use evidence based interventions; therefore, interventions based on FBA can easily be implemented to meet the evidence based criteria and prevent future behavior problems. • 4. Billy Joel's Influence On Modern Music Mozart and Beethoven are influential composers whose musical pieces have been heard around the world for centuries. The famous works of the aforementioned two provide an example for current musicians to follow, in hopes of reaching longevity similar to that of classical composers. I remember listening to classical music in grammar school, since it is known to increase the IQ of young minds. However, when I create a playlist, I constantly search for new, modern artists that aspire to have an impact on the music culture like Mozart and Beethoven had. Three of my favorite contemporary singer/songwriters are Billy Joel, Ed Sheeran, and Faith Hill. Billy Joel. Billy Joel had his first big break in the music world in the early 1970's with his release of "Piano Man" and continued to make #1 hits for nearly two and a half decades. Ed Sheeran, born and raised in England, took the world by storm in the early 2010's with his charming British accent and his unique lyrics. The reason that I like Ed Sheeran so much is that he is real, while other pop artists don't write their own songs let alone their entire album. He seems so laid back without letting the fame get to his head. He took an entire year break from social media to work on new music with no distractions; it just shows that he does what he does because it's his passion, not because of the million followers he has gained. Some of my favorite songs of his include "Thinking Out Loud", "Castle on the Hill", and "Sing". As for Ed Sheeran's future success, there is still so much unknown. He just entered the spotlight less than ten years ago. In my opinion, I hope that he continues to make a name for himself and obtains a fan base that will pass down his music from generation to generation. His genuineness and dedication to his music may just help him create a long–lasting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Analysis Of Gottfredson And Hirschi 's Low Self Control... Gottfredson and Hirschi's Low Self–Control Theory, also known as A General Theory of Crime, is a criminological theory developed in 1990 that seeks to explain crime and why certain people offend and others do not. As a social control theory, it accepts the idea that socialization and social learning build self–control and will likely lead one away from offending. Low Self–Control Theory also comes from the classical school of thought, which states that human nature is to try to enhance pleasure and avoid pain (Gottfredson and Hirschi 2014). Low Self–Control Theory asserts that most crimes committed are largely spontaneous acts. They require very little skill, if any at all, and merely provide minimal short–term satisfaction. In the theory, Self–Control is defined as the extent to which an individual is vulnerable to the temptations in a certain moment. A personal trait that is characteristic of an individual with low self–control orientation to the present rather than the future, and crime is something that provides them with immediate satisfaction. Another trait of individuals with low self–control is a risk–taking and physical nature, rather than a cautious and cognitive nature. Crime provides these individuals with excitement and risky, adventurous activities. The next trait of someone with low self–control is a lack of patience, persistence, and diligence. Crime allows these people to quick and simple ways to obtain sex, money, revenge, or other desirable ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Is this perception of you the same or different from who you think you are or who you want to be? Do you know who you are, and if you do, when did you take the path of self discovery? The journey of self discovery is a journey that most people take at some point during their life, whether it is very early in life or rather late in life. In the novels, Billy Lynn 's Long Halftime Walk by Ben Fountain, Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison, andThe Great Gatsby by F. Each of the protagonists have started or completed their path towards their journey to self discovery, however no path is identical and the results of having started or having completed the journey vary in significance and effectiveness in regards to the impact that they have one their lives. The life you live is what shapes who you are and is what leads you on your path towards self discovery. This may seem obvious, that self discovery is a journey that happens during one's lifetime, but some people are not as fortunate to live such a fulfilled life that they are able to partake in such a journey. There are people that would argue that to simply have a life does not mean that one is actually living. With that being said, it is privilege to not only live a life, but to also discover one's own identity because some people who live do not get that far either. In these three novels the three protagonists, Billy Lynn, Jay Gatsby, and Invisible Man, have all lived lives that have led them on their path to self discovery. Billy's own journey was one mainly focused on battling with his own inner self. "Inner peace–you need to know who you are, what you want out of life. You have to do your own thinking, and for that you better know who you are, and not just know but be secure in it, comfortable with yourself" (Fountain), in this quote Billy is recognizing and showcasing to the readers his own path to understanding and discovering himself. • 9. Billy Weaver's Disappearance Essay When I first heard of this case, I knew I had to find out the truth. The investigation of Billy Weaver's disappearance was eerie and left me with a lingering pit in my stomach. In early morning Billy came down from the London looking for a motel. He ended up going to a bed and breakfast. The bed and breakfast was hosted by a dainty landlady. That was the last place that Billy was seen before his disappearance. It is clear that the landlady is guilty of billy's disappearance because of the missing past guests, the cheap price, and the bitter almond tasting tea. The missing past guests intrigued me. I made sure to look into the guest book straight away when I walked into the bed and breakfast. I noticed there were two names that stayed here... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The price was five and sixpence. Billy himself thought "It was fantastically cheap" and "half of what he was willing to pay". This gives me the conclusion that a regular price for a bed and breakfast/motel would be around ten and twelvepence. Having such a cheap price I think it's safe to assume that the landlady wanted Billy there. But for what reason? Well I'm not quite sure yet but I don't think it was good. My last piece of evidence is the bitter almond taste of the tea. During my research I discovered it was poison. Exactly as I thought and cyanide to be exact. Why in the world would the landlady give im poison you may ask. I am concluding that she wanted him to be dead. She stated she has stuffed all her pets and killed them herself. I think she does the exact same thing to people. I also think Billy is on the fourth floor just waiting to be found. Most likely dead but the least we could do is give him a proper grave and funeral. The Landlady is guilty because of the disappearance of the past guests, the cheap motel price and the bitter almond tasting tea. Know that we have reviewed the case, I believe the landlady is guilty of the disappearance of Billy Weaver. So after this ruley investigation, it's time to sit up and take a stand on what you believe in. Do you think the landlady is guilty of billy's disappearance, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Emotional Rollercoaster We Call Life Am I Rite The Emotional Rollercoaster We Call Life Am I Rite In Kurt Vonnegut's famous Slaughterhouse Five, the main character of the novel, Billy Pilgrim, is having traumatic experiences happen to him such as everything that happened throughout the war. Because of these temperamental events, Pilgrim has been emotionally scarred and experiences Post–Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) throughout the novel. Pilgrim describes events that scarred him before the war which leads to the reader believing he was emotionally scarred before he was put into war, such as the experiences he had with his father. In Maxine Kumin's "Woodchucks," the narrator is revealing the inhumane, cruel part of themselves based upon the events that spiraled in the poem. The narrator of the poem appears to be mentally damaged by the end of the poem, wishing she wasn't the person she was. This directly related to Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse Five due to the fact that Pilgrim was also feeling the same way at the end of the book compared to "Woodchucks." Vonnegut's idea behind revealing events that Pilgrim experienced before the war shows how he was damaged beneath who he really was. The message behind both pieces is revealing to the audience that the events a person goes through at early development are what shape them to be the person they are later. • 32. Should Billy Coleman Have Tried To Chop Down A Tree "It's always too early to quit." This is a quote by an optimistic author named Norman Vincent Peale. He believed that, even when one thinks it is time to give up and quit, there is always a way to do the job. In the book Where the Red Fern Grows, a boy named Billy Coleman was trying to chop down a huge tree, and several times, he was ready to quit. It would not be right to leave a tree half–chopped and dying for no good reason, so he continued chopping away at the tree's trunk. Everyone can agree that the reason he was chopping down the tree was that he had made a promise to his dogs. Some people argue that even so, Billy should not have tried to chop down the enormous tree. Other people, like me, argue that Billy should have tried to chop down the enormous tree for three reasons. Firstly, Billy needed to become a man. Secondly, he needed to keep his promise. Finally, he needed to learn about God. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 35. Billy Joel's Major Accomplishments The path to stardom in the music industry is a difficult one. It is not uncommon for an artist to fail time and time again before actually striking it big. For example, the Beatles were rejected on with their first attempt to get signed, Elvis Presley was told to stick to his day job because he had no future in music, and Jimi Hendrix was booed of stage constantly because the audiences would rather see the headliners. Billy Joel was no different. As a younger man, he bounced from band to band trying to find his fit. He managed to overcome several failures and challenges with his personal life to become one of the most prolific American pop/soft rock musicians of all time. Billy Joel started his musical career when he began to receive piano lessons at a fairly young age. Joel wasn't too excited about learning piano originally, but he grew to appreciate his lessons. He originally did not consider a career in music, however that all changed when he saw The Beatles perform on The Ed Sullivan Show. Even to today, Billy credits that performance for changing his life: Up to that moment, I'd never considered playing rock as a career. And when I saw four guys ... Billy would go on to lose some supporters over some decisions he made like bridging the tensions between the Catholics and Protestants. As he lost some supporters, he gained some because he was bridging relationships that had gaps for minute reasons. Billy Graham's action in bridging the gaps of division is a direct result of his love for God. As God is the perfect example of how people are to live in community, Billy Graham displays obedience to the will of God by crossing the lines of division and forming relationships. Director Stephen Daldry openly deals with homosexuality and intentionally creates doubt surrounding Billy's sexuality thus fuelling debate and discussion. Through out the film Daldry presents us with numerous episodes, which suggest homosexuality but which are all open to interpretation, for example is Billy's rejection of Debbie in the bedroom scene a sign of his homosexuality or just due to the shyness and insecurity of youth? . For Billy's father it isn't necessarily his sons dancing that he finds hard to come to terms with but more the fact that a macho figure like himself is harbouring a homosexual son. However it could be argued that Billy's dancing is really a metaphor for all sorts of things, i.e. his passion and zeal for life rather than his homosexuality, as he points out himself 'Just because I like ballet doesn't mean I'm a poof, you know' Billy's rejection of Debbie in the bedroom episode could be used as evidence to suggest he is gay. He remains silent when asked ' Do you fancy me' and later when asked if he would like to see an intimate part of Debbie's anatomy, simply replies ' No, that's ok'. However is this merely due to Billy's inexperience with girls and thus his insecurity and shyness? . Those advocating that Billy is gay would argue that his cold and affirmative ' No, that's ok' shows that he has no interest in the female sex. They would also argue that as Billy has been without a female role model for most of his life, due to his mother's death, he has become dependant on male figures and this could potentially spill into his more intimate relationships. Billy's affirmation that ' I'm not a poof' could also be met with some degree of scepticism. Is Billy just repeating the prejudice of his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 42. Exploring Homoeroticism In 'Herman Melville' Is Billy Budd... I was studying how Herman Melville shows what was going on in his personal life by what was happening in his writing. This topic is important to investigate because, we can better understand what is happening in his literature if we can equate it with personal connections to his life. This way readers can connect better with the author as well as the piece of writing. Before I did this study I knew nothing about Herman Melville's personal life. I have never read any work of his before, nor did I ever did any research on him. This study will help me connect with Melville, in which that will help me understand his writing. More specifically Billy Budd, Sailor. That being said, Herman Melville uses Billy Budd, Sailor as an allegory for what he was facing in his own life. One of Herman Melville's biggest personal secret is that he was queer. He had a wife, but also wrote love letters to his male interests. It is safe to say Melville was bisexual, but no one will know for sure. In Billy Budd, Sailor, Melville wrote in a gay character, which is Claggart. Dana Silva, a publisher in Agora, in her paper "Exploring Homoeroticism in Herman Melville's Novella Billy Budd, Sailor," published in Agora, explains: Unobserved and thus left to indulge in his own private desire, Claggart, while viewing Billy, is torn between his maritime sexual yearnings and his heterosexual societal obligations.
