8. Types of Interview
Interviews in terms of number of people involved:
One to one Interview – It is the most common
interview where only the interviewer and the
interviewee are present.
Panel Interview – It is conducted by a group of two or
more interviewers.
Group Interview – A group interview consists of a
single interviewer interviewing multiple candidates at
the same time.
9. Interviews to be
broadcast/published as a
whole:
Informative Interview – about facts & figures in
certain topics
Opinion Interview – about what the interviewee
thinks of a specific issue, event or development
Personality Interview – about personality of the
interviewee
10. Interviews as tools:
Research Interview – aims to research or double-
check information to get additional information
for writing reports/commentaries.
Statement Interview – aims to get an individual
statement which becomes a part of another
journalistic piece.
