• SR 836 from West of NW 17 Ave to Midtown Interchange
• I-95 Pavement Reconstruction from NW 8 St to NW 29 St

• Limits: West of NW 17 Avenue to the SR 836/I-95/I-395 Midtown Interchange
• Add capacity to SR 836 and improve flow of traffic
• Double-decked SR 836 section provides a direct connection to/from I-395, PortMiami Tunnel and Miami Beach that bypasses
traffic entering and exiting local roads and I-95

• Pavement replacement will enhance rideability
• Extension of auxiliary lane from NW 17 Street to NW 29 Street will improve the flow of traffic on the widened eastbound SR 836
and westbound I-395 ramps to northbound I-95

CONSTRUCTION
Project is a Design-Build – Plans design underway
Preliminary construction activities are expected to begin in October/November
2018 with major construction anticipated to begin in February/March of 2019
Construction will be done in phases to minimize construction impacts to the public

• 8:00 pm to 5:30 am Sunday thru Thursday
• 8:30 pm to 9:00 am Friday
• 8:30 pm to 11:00 am Saturday
I-95 SPECIFIC
Mainline Nightly Closures
• 9:00 pm to 5:30 am Sunday thru Thursday
RAMPS
• 10:00 pm to 6:30 am Sunday thru Thursday​
• 11:00 pm to 7:00 am Friday and Saturday​
SPECIAL NOTES:
• Special events will be taken into account when scheduling closures
• Hours noted above are for single lane closures, multi-lane closure will occur later
• Weekend lane closures will be permitted on I-95 from 11 p.m. on Friday to 5:30 a.m. on Monday
• The contract documents allows for weekend closures on certain ramps

thereby reducing secondary

highway workers and motorists.
Smart Work Zone Management
